GREAT TEACHER
Prof. Casella is a great teacher. Her notes were all I needed to pass with a good grade. If it's not in the notes, it's not on the test. The text book is very difficult to read, so she makes it much easier by giving great notes!
Although she's very clear and tests only on what she presents in class, she is tricky on the exams. You MUST know the material. Take very good notes or record her lectures. She doesn't review and she is not really available outside of class.
smart and passionate about her subject. She is fair in grading but favors "trick" questions on her tests and is not always student friendly. Eg does not like to answer questions in class or make sure students "get" the material before moving on .
I loved her class. She is very fast but shows you clearly what is expected of you. The one class I would take again!
very helpful fast talker tip : get a tape recorder
If it wasn't in her lecture, it wasn't on the test. But get a tape recorder. Don't miss a single nuance of the lecture or you can kiss an A good-bye. Couldn't beat her for clarity and she knows it. So don't waste her time with a question that's off point. She doesn't like it. Her tests are hard. Be careful. BUT YOU WILL LEARN!
This was one of the best teachers. She is extremely helpful, I love her she is great but don't push her buttons with nonsense..Great teacher!
Dr C was fantastic. Had her for A&PI and lab. She is no joke. You need to pay attention and follow her closely and you will do well. Not a biology guy here, but loved it taking her class. She has full command of her field. Very nice person with educational integrity. Excellent in Lab too...tough, but no surprises. LOVED DR C!
dr. casella class is not bad at all. just read her notes every day. and you will get a good grade.
very hard class. the material comes from notes sometimes she ask tricky questions. must know notes inside out. also if you want an A in this class donot take more than 8 credits including this class.requires alot of study time.review material every day 7 days a week for atleast 2-3 hours a day.or you can kiss an A goodbye.
Horrible Experience. Do not recommend this stupid teacher. In-experienced, lack of professionalism, and terrible attitude towards students.
dr casella gave us a final exam today. I thought i was in the wrong class. she thinks we are in medical school here at wcc.I have never seen a final exam as hard as this. she also does not curve her grades. dr cook gives curves.she is teaching at a medical school level at wcc which is crazy.3 students out of 42 did well because only 4 credits taken
Dr. Casella is a no non-sense professor. I've had her for 2 semesters and I wish I could have her for all. She gives you the notes all you have to do is dedicate alot of time to studying. Is it so foreign that a professor actually wants her students to know the material. Sure the material is difficult but she knows her suff. Wouldn't recommend her
You should try to take her for lec as well as lab. Must attent every lab. If u miss lec, get the notes. Record her lec and read your notes daily. I took her for micro and I must say students are scared to take her class but she is very fair and gives you all that you need to pass her class. No text book needed but she does talk really fast!!!!
love the lecture. very clear. writes on the board all the notes while explaining them. I prepared for the test as best i could and had all 30 pages of notes memorized for the first test. The test was ridiculous. There were so many questions that were out of no where I literally had to guess. I couldnt have prepared better yet got a dismal grade.
She is the best teacher one could ask for. She is a learned woman and teaches several sciences at the same time. If only we could all be as gifted as Dr. Casella, the world would be in better shape. She is a straight shooter and without question, clearly cares about the subjects she teaches and makes sure the student understands. She is excellen
I took her for a & p I in the summer. You feel like you're getting fired at by a machine gun. She goes REALLY fast & won't stop to answer questions if her life depended on it. If you need help or clarification, you're SOL, cuz she's goin' home! She could be good if she cared, but she really does not. I think it's kind of appalling, actually.
I had her for AnP lab and I have to say I liked her. She knows her stuff and is extremely interesting. I kinda wanna be like her when I grow up lol. BUT, she would be HOT if she took the time out to make handouts or utilize the board with material that is actually on her tests. Her test are pretty hard-always a surprise. I would take her again tho.
Taking her for Microbiology. Not recommended. She will test on every detail, even ones that she does not go over in class. She refuses to go over tests, which could be due to the fact that she knows that many test questions, she did not go over.
Really hard class! The tests are all "thinky", not just basic memorization. Was it the worst experience ever? No. Would I do it again? Also no.
pros--can explain indiv topics very clearly, good personality, no reading. cons--jumping around & not tying topics together so you end up w/random factoids, hard to find @ office. WORST: would not let us see what we got wrong on tests, said reviewing tests wdn't help us, then repeated same tricky questions on final.
Unorganized, Jumps all over the place with her notes, you deff need a tape recorder cuz she says things so fast. She asks questions but doesnt give anyone time to answer. Very sarcastic too!
Prof. Casella really knows what she's talking about. Study exactly what she says and you'll pass. Don't worry about reading the book, since she tests on precisely what she lectures. There were a few hiccups with poor exam question writing, but otherwise she's great.
I love Dr Casella. She's tougher in A&P than she is in micro but if you study her notes, record her lectures and study you will do great in her class. I had her for both a&p 2 and micro and did well in both classes. she really knows her stuff. lol. she's one of the best teachers at wcc and i highly recommend her.
I had her for a&p 1and it was awful, she teaches one thing quickly dint atop for questions and her test are completely different. I struggle just to keep up with her, she refuse to take the time to make sure u understand the material even if majority of the class is below average...would not ever recommend her.
she talks too fast and doesn't stops. Also she puts too much material into one test. I also had lab with her and she wasn't even in the room half the time. Thank God I dropped her class
Attendance and a tape recorder is mandatory for this class. She's not very helpful nor does she seem to care whether you learn the material or not. Studying and putting lots of time and effort into this class is key or you'll do poorly. I got a good grade but I'm being honest here. She's not horrible but she's not great either.
You best attend all classes take notes and even then the material just comes at you too fast. I would suggest recording so that when you go over your notes you can fill in the gaps. Will usually test on what she wriotes on the board, but it may not make sense without the recording.
Amazing. I could not have understood the material without her lectures. Is she hard? Yes. Will you learn? Absolutely. If you want to actually learn the material, take Casella.
Very hard grader and extremely rude. She says that her test are mostly her not but her handwrtiing in unreadable and her test arent just on her notes. Talks way too fast. thank god i only have her for lecture or else i would go insane.
Worst teacher ever. talks too fast puts about 3 chapters for every test and more than enough information. never would recommend her to anyone.
I actually found Casella to be decent, I think she has her people she likes, she likes certainty and can see thru any sweet talking. Her tests are hard core! Must study, no cramming or you will fail.. Must have full understanding of info and know examples ! If you study you'll do we'll. no text book use at all.
Love her! AMAZING! Know her stuff, very clear and fun!
No textbook is needed. Just take good notes in class and everything on the tests is based of what she says/writes on the board. She doesn't take attendance, but unless you have a friend in class, do NOT miss a day's worth of notes. Memorize the notes and you'll do great on the tests.
She's a good teacher but tough. I have A&P1 lecture with her. It took me awhile to get her teaching and her tests. I failed first exam, so did most of the class, but got an 80 on the second. However, there's no way I'll get better than a B because I did poorly on the first exam. I'm just hoping she'll drop it. We'll see!!!!!
Don't take her. Some might say tough professors make good students. BUT DO NOT FORGET THAT WE NEED A GOOD GRADE TOO.
Overall she is a good professor and knows what she is talking about. She talks fast so record every single lecture. Her tests are difficult so don't cram the night before. And honestly…take this class if you have time because the amount of time you will spend studying will shock you!
VERY demanding class. There is so much work in the lab that must be done outside the lab (lab reports, studying for lab exams on stuff from lab books)as well as a ton of material for lecture. Like taking two classes. But Casella is a great teacher. Made the class interesting. Never stay the whole lab period. Tests are hard but grading is fair.
Very demanding course but an excellent professor as long as you study hard and attend class you'll do good if your lazy this class isn't for you
Basic micro was tough with her. She is nice in lecture and lab. In her lecture, you can not I mean do not miss any days couse you will miss notes and be lost. I advise you to record every lecture class. She gives no study guide for her class, so your on your own. Her lab class, she will let you go into another lab and make it up
Course is very demanding and she is an excellent Professor. I love how she structures this class together. If your lazy don't take her. Recorder is a MUST, she writes on the board and doesn't give a review. But if you study her notes you will pass all her test as they are not that hard.
A brilliant professor with a great personality. She is a straight shooter, and is great at explaining topics. If you need help she is patient and willing to answer questions. However you have to take the initiative to ask. Pay attention in lecture and understand the concepts she stresses. This isn't an easy class- do your part; you will do great.
I LOVE DR.CASELLA, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER FOR MICRO.
This professor speaks and writes very fast. Most of the time I couldn't understand her handwriting. I felt that her test were so different from her notes. Also her test were very confusing and tricky. I had to rewrite her notes based on the book (thank god for the book). I'm never taking her again. And yes I did study a lot for that class!
Very knowledgeable, but condescending at the same time. I did not look forward to sitting in her lecture at all.
she is a good professor. Study only her notes! I took this class in the summer for 5 weeks while working full time!. The class is not difficult if you go to class everyday and try to understand whats going on. She will curve your test indirectly if she see you did bad on one test and good on the others, but she won't tell you, Dont get intimiated!
Do not be a victim! Her and Bernardi act as gate keepers and weed people out making money for the college. She doesn't curve and don't believe the great comments by either her or staff members hyping her up. The way the questions are asked on tests is very confusing, or not in your material.. She prides herself that she has the most repeated class.
Casella is not an easy Prof. but if you study her notes you will pass all her test. I tooked this during the summer session in 5 weeks and it was tough but duable. I do recommend her to the people who are not lazy and want to pass.
Professor Casella swears by telling you not to read the textbook. She believes her notes were once apart of the bible. Her tests are very hard majority of the class fails will every test. Her notes are very confusing when studying because they do not make sense. She basically begs students to drop. 5 people passed the first test of 40 studen
Dr. Casella knows what she is talking about and relates what she teaches to clinical practice the very first lecture! Take good notes, study, pay attention, and you will do well.
don't miss any classes and write down everything she says she only gave four tests the first i got a 71 the last three i did great i should have got a B but she saw how much work i put in and gave me an A Honestly you just have to do the work she not the easiest teacher but you will learn more from her than anyone else
Tests are directly from her lecture notes. Write down everything. Don't miss a single class.
I've taken this class for Microbiology and it was tough... You need to record the class and take really good notes. The exam will be on the notes you take, and you have to study them well enough to understand the material. You will not pass the class if you are lazy, or don't put the effort into it.
I'll be straight forward. No her exams are not easy. You will fail if you do not put in the effort. Getting an A is possible. I am taking micro as well as A&P 2 with Bernardi and am on my way to get As in both. Record the lectures and recopy notes verbatim. Study by understanding the material not just memorizing. She is def one of my fav profs!
Buy a recorder $40.00 Rewrite the notes over and over $70.00 Passing her class will be PRICELESS
I took her class over the summer. Casella really knows her information. She's a great professor but she's sometimes all over the place. Don't need the textbook, but write down EVERYTHING she's says because that's what her tests are on. I can't express that enough. Study the material, put in the effort, and you'll get a good grade.
Her lectures were amazing. She writes everything on the board (no powerpoints), so just make sure you study your notes. She's pretty funny - she tries to give you tipsjokesanecdotes to help you remember stuff! 1010 would take her again.
Casella was incredible. No, she is not easy BUT, why would you want a professor who doesn't challenge you to learn? Her lectures were great! Write down everything she says because her tests are based off her notes. I worked hard, studied a lot and received an A in her class and I took it in 5 weeks instead of 15. 100% would take her again!!!
Took this professor for AP1. She bases her exams on her notes. You do have to write down word for word. It doesn't hurt to skim through the textbook just as a review but dedicate all of your study time to your notes. She is a tough professor but I saw more newbie to college struggling then the adult students. Genuinely made the topics interesting.
She strives to fail students. She enjoys when people drop out of her class. Normally half of the class will fail each exam and she expects that. Its hard to keep up even if you study constantly. She has no interest in helping her students and the tests are hard to understand. I am now a nursing student in CNR even tho I dropped her class.
I took Professor Casella Fall 2015 for A&P1. In the beginning she clearly stated to us, every exam that I give will be from my notes. Be here on time, don't miss any lecture and you will pass. WRONG !!! For example, 1st exam, 35 students, 7 got between 70-85 and the remainder 64 and below. Then she asks us, guys whats going on? Ummm its you!
Please do not take this class, especially if you are taking other classes. You can only take this class by itself with Prof. Casella. She doesn't allow you to see your quizzes, she doesn't go through them in class, she call you up to just tell you your grade. You end up not knowing how her questions are set or the mistake you've made. StAY AWAY!!!!
Everyone else who complains about prof. Casella didn't put the work in to pass the class. It isn't a professors job to hold your hand and guide you through exams. This is college not middle school. If you're not afraid to open up a book, read your notes, and work for your grade you will pass. I took 2 honors along with this and still have all A's
Dr. Casella is down to earth, she has direct knowledge of patient care, she is super smart and lectures like an MIT professor. Take her class!!!
Prof. Casella knows the subject in and out - I think she could be a doctor. She is very intelligent and highly experienced. You will learn so much about the subject, but you will work very hard. She says you don't need a text book, but I think you do. Plus you will need to rewrite her notes when you study. She uses relatable examples.
She is a very intelligent woman, very knowledgeable, she writes a lot of notes. You have to focus solely on her notes and frequently to understand. Also to pass her test everything is mostly based on her notes. Study the simple stuff because that will catch you off guard.
Dr. Casella is a knowledgable professor but her notes are all over the place. She starts from point A, to point B back to point A and then point C. I wouldn't take her again.
Dr. Casella knows her stuff, took A&P 1 in 5 weeks had her for lecture and learnt so much. She takes all her exam questions from her notes so make sure to study & understand what you write. She doesn't use Blackboard and writes her entire lecture on the board. Studied like crazy & got a "b", if you put in the work you'll see the reward.
Dr. Casella is AMAZING. She is very knowledgeable and expects a lot because most of her students are planning on going into medical profession. If she skips around it is only to show her students how everything works together (StructureFunction). I would absolutely take her again, in fact I am struggling to get into her Fall Lab!! LOVE HER!
Very tough grader. All of her test questions come directly from her lectures. Crams a lot of material into each test.
Dr. Casella is A1! Took her for micro in 5 weeks vs. the full semester. If you study everyday after every lecture you won't get less than a A-Bon an exam. If you wait for the last min to study then you are screwed! Other than that her test are DIRECTLY from her notes don't waste your time reading the book. STUDY and put in effort you will pass
She cares about her job as well as her students. If you are serious about getting a good grade then she will help you get the info to get there. Gives tons of info to record her lessons. Study only what she gives u. Very down to earth teacher.
She should be fired like she was in Long Island. Yeah Angela, I did the research. All these comments where she's so "amazing" is her or one of her suckups. She's purposely deceptive on tests. Take this somewhere else. Do yourself the favor. I hadn't A's in all other science courses . A hard teacher is ok, a deceptive one, is not cool.
Professor Casella is by far one of my favorite professors. I've taken many science classes at several schools, and she ranks high on the list. She has great lectures, but talks very fast. Be prepared to write in class. She cares about her students and is a fair grader. She appreciates and expects hard work. She will give the same back to you.
She is a very kind professor but lets get this straight you need to write down every single thing she writes on the board! Her tests are based on her notes. MAKE SURE you don't miss any lectures. Overall a very difficult class. Especially during the summer.
This class is ALL ABOUT YOUR NOTES! Attendance is not mandatory but if you miss a class, you are risking everything. She is fast paces, hardly pauses at all, and generally does not answer many questions as there is so much material. If you take good notes, you'll be fine if you study them consistently.
Dr. Casella teaching style is her talking during lectures and you writing everything she says down, she won't let you record her voice or take pictures of anything. She writes some stuff of the board but when she does its either so small or sloppy that you can't even see it. All she grades you on is 4 tests. I did not learn anything from her.
Casella is a hard grader, most students do not pass her class. Also she does not go over your tests with you she will show you your grade and thats it, she won't help you learn from the questions you got wrong. During class she is very fast paced and hardly ever stops to answers questions students ask her during class.
This class felt like a boot camp class for me. You definitely have to work hard and study a lot for every test. She is incredibly smart and will teach you so much, but you have to be willing to put in the effort as well in order to get a good grade.
Prof. Casella is a very smart and passionate Prof. I enjoyed her class even tho I didn't do as well as I could of. My advice is try not to miss class. READ THE NOTES & record her. Don't wait to study. I had her for both lec/lab and I'm glad I did. If I retake the course it would be with her all the way. She's straight forward and to the point.
She needs to be fired, her style of lecturing is awful. She doesn't like when students ask her questions. She is also TERRIBLE at responding emails. Most of the students don't pass her class not because they're not smart but because her style of teaching is very old school. Although all her tests come from her notes, they are extremely tricky.
AWFUL professor, she enjoys failing her students, I did not like the way she taught her lectures. They seemed to be all over the place. She knows the material but doesn't really like to help her students.
Good professor who delivers lectures via writing on the board. The exams are based from the notes in class. I would recommend this class.
Professor Casella does not play around, in order to pass her class you have to study and work hard! Do not miss her class because missed notes bad test grade. She knows her stuff, but isn't available to help. Be ready to work very hard and you will do well. Her grades are based solely on her tests. I wouldnt take her again not worth the headache.
Taking Prof Casella for A&P 2. First I found her to be very lazy and does not provide a class syllabus. Her exams are inconsistent with her lectures. She will write a few things on the blackboard but leaves out many details that you MUST research yourself through the textbook or online. She does like to be asked questions and will ramble on.
Professor Casella is a tough professor who does not joke around. She expects you to attend every lecture and lab. A professor who puts you on top of things and I liked how she gave hints about what to expect for lab exams and projects. Exams are hard, and you have to have awesome notes solely based on her lectures. Take her if you like a challenge!
She never fails to remind you that the subject is hard and you can easily fail. It's almost like she gets pleasure out of making the class difficult and having tricky tests. Even though her tests are based off her notes, the test goes into way more depth then she ever did. I would not recommend her what so ever.
You get want you pay for. Prof Casella puts as much effort into her teaching that WCC pays for. The cost is low so the quality of what she brings to the table is substandard. She tries to give the impression she cares but does not. She does what is necessary. She completely the remaining years of teaching just for her pension. Very poor overall
The reviews below in red are VERY TRUE!!! I'm a straight A student so I looked over these reviews and didn't think too much of it. She stars material that she never ask on the tests. She doesn't give you any type of review for the cumulative test. You must record her because she says some many additional details that she doesn't put on the board
She's tough, which I like but she does not test fair, advised the class to not purchase the text book yet references the text all semester (I bought it), states exams are based only on her notes, which is false. Tries to intentionally confuse her students, so I had to use a YouTube Prof who actually explained concepts to me. Then I understood.
Professors tell you test will follow notes and attendance is mandatory. Tests are out of left field. Summer session is not recommended as prof does not know how to condense information and teach to students in a organized manner to which they can absorb and understand the information giving.
Prof Casella is HARD make no mistake, but she is fair and gets easier as the class continues. The first test is HARD, she is HARD but you learn a lot but you have to be committed and be prepared to WORK.
If you want to learn and pass the class, DO NOT TAKE HER.
She's just one teacher that is prepared to teach at all time. Money well spen
Professor Casella has not updated her lesson plans for the new micro textbook. That's why her tests are "hard" because you don't have the right textbook and she is too lazy to update her lesson plans to correlate with the new textbook.
Please stay away if you have the chance. you will have 60 pages of notes for each exam and she will form her questions and you will wonder where in gods name she's relating it to. Ive taken a lot of science courses sothe material itself is not difficult but she just sets you up to fail. you must keep an A average in lab to help you out in the end.
The material for this class is fairly easy, but it's ALOT of information. With that being said, you absolutely will not pass if you don't attend lecture. Her tests are difficult, but they are entirely based off of her lectures. Everything she says during lecture is fair game for the class. Go to class, pay attention, take good notes.
Enjoyable lectures with a lot of information. The exams require a lot of focus and understanding of the lecture material but if you take good notes and are a serious student you will do well and learn a lot.
Prof. Casella was a solid choice. She is very straight forward, everything is written on the board and you need to take everything down and more! A lot of information given but if you continuously study throughout the course you should do fine. Tests are 70+ questions be sure you understand the material and if not ask questions!
Recommend for micro. If you study and are on top of the work you will do great.
Prof Casella is, without a doubt, the most ineffective instructor I've ever had. Her teaching methods consist of nothing more than lecturing mass amounts of information at your in a scattered and illogical manner. Her classroom is a harsh and uncomfortable environment where questions are seemingly discouraged. Luckily lab is 50%! Avoid if possible.
Very nice lady but doesn't use PowerPoint or Blackboard & claims the textbook is not 100% correct. Her class is solely on her lecture notes but her notes are scattered & unclear. Forget asking (?s) or email contact with her. Her exams are unclear & although informed us she will have bonus (?s) to up our grade, never did.
A no nonsense lecture teacher- you can expect to take notes the entire class. Tests based on lecture notes. Textbook came in handy to reference notes. You are shown your grade, tests are not returned- second time I took this teacher- would sign up for a third if I needed to take micro.
I enjoyed her class everything is straight forward. I recommend recording and taking clear notes. I would take again. Replay and rewrite recordings and youll do fine. Exams tricky that's why ALOT of studying is required outside of class to understand material. No textbook needed all you need is good notes, the lab manuals/books and you'll do fine.
She's honestly not as bad as people say. Yes, she talks fast. Yes, there is a lot of information to retain. Yes, her tests may be a little tricky. But she really isn't as mean or hard as people say so don't be afraid to take her class like i was when i first read these reviews.
Do not take a class with Dr. Casella if you actually want to learn. She does not put in the effort to make sure her students understand the material. You literally have to bend over backwards for an A. She does not let you see your tests which is ridiculous - how is someone supposed to learn if they can't learn from their mistakes?
Dr. Casella is an amazing professor, and truly makes you work for your grade. Make sure to buy the Home Lab & the textbook!! For the practicals, study the home lab, since she lets you have class time prior to practicals to look at the bones & structures. For the written, good luck - they are really hard. Aim for high grades on the practicals!!!
just talks so fast and she only rights in board with her notes and expects you to to get a good get from what she wrote on the board
I had her for Microbio lecture and lab her tests from directly her notes so the textbook is useless. It requires a lot of time and dedication but i do think she was a fair professor.
Her Exam are full of tricky questions!!! Shows no remorse
This lady is just horrible!!!!! I have heard for the longest that she is the worst but I had to micro for nursing school!!!! She basically sets you up to fail!!! She doesnt Allow students to ask questions or take pics of the board and gives like 60 pages of notes for each test but half the things are not on the test. Each test has less questions.
Horrible prof.!! Does not review the tests, so how are you supposed to learn from your mistakes. Office hours are inconvenient for the working person. Only 3 exams + cumulative final. Doesn't drop lowest grade. Goes very fast and don't you dare interrupt and ask her any questions. Run very far. Take it at another school as she will not help you!!
Her tests are ridiculously hard. She says the tests are based on her notes purely but thats a lie. I used the textbook as another reference and it made me realize how much she skips around. Highly unorganized and looks down on people when wrong answers are said.
I took summer classes with Prof. Angela and being from another country and very first time at a college class, I can tell that was intense, but not impossible. She does speak fast and you dont want to miss any notes (because the test are based on them), but she is insanely knowledgeable. I would recommend recording her class.
hands down the worst professor i've ever had. she won't help you or answer any questions and her notes make no sense. doesn't post anything on blackboard. do not take this professor!
Jumps around/can be a bit unorganized but she lets you record lectures which is a big help. 4 tests all based on lecture notes. Tests are pretty straight forward, only complaint is that there'd usually be 2 questions I felt like we didn't go over. It's definitely a lot of work but if you study her notes consistently you should be fine.
If I could rate this professor a 0 that would be the better option. I emailed her and she never answered which was quite rude. As well if you go to ask questions before a test she won't tell you anything or help you out. I don't really know how I would even approach her teaching if I were to have to take her again. Awful!!! Nothing good to say.
Casella was nothing special. Her tests are straight from her lectures and she lets you record them. She doesn't believe in technology (which I find absurd) so be prepared to teach yourself what she is talking about during the lectures. Don't even bother asking questions or approaching her for help... at most she'll make you feel dumb.
Took her for a 5 week A&P1 summer course. 3 hours a day, 4 days a week, for 5 straight weeks of nonstop writing. SO. MANY. NOTES. She lets you record the lectures, so I listened to them every night. Rewrote all my notes at least 2 times. Memorized the notes as if they were lines for a play. Got an A. Then had a nervous breakdown. Shes cool tho.
I took Casella for A&P2 lab. Honestly I loved her class. Shes lets you record her which is a big help to rewrite the notes because she give examples and talks more about it so you have it recorded for later. A lot of material and writing but if you learn it you will pass for sure. Probably should take this class alone-with lecture, its a lot!!
She's good at what she does and expects you to understand and relate what she teaches to her test questions most of the time so don't expect "spit-back" questions after her first exam. She'll explain if you don't understand. I suggest recording because she goes fast! Overall, she was good. The class itself is difficult so be prepared.
She goes FAST. If you skip her class you will not pass. Don't bother with the book, you won't have time to read it unless this is the only class you're taking. Her test are straight from her notes, if you understand the material, YOU WILL PASS. Start studying from day one otherwise you will fall behind. Overall she's great.
The worst professor Ive taken Ive taken her for A&P 1 and dropped the class because I felt I wasnt learning w her then people said she was better in micro WRONG same thing not a professor I will take ever shes not there to teach you and for you to pass her exam are not from the notes you have to teach yourself I never taken a professor like he
worst professor I have ever had. Entire class consists of her writing notes on a backboard for students to copy making it hard to listen and really learn the material. Goes EXTREMELY fast, does not believe in using the book, only her notes. ended up dropping the class because I could not learn from her. If you want to learn something don't take her
Dropped her class after the first test. Its like she sets you up to fail and enjoys it. She always reminds her students of all the ways they will fail and overall just has a negative vibe to her. Goes WAY TOO FAST and "teaches" by writing on the blackboard for 2.5 hours. When studying you dont even know where to begin with 60 pages of notes. AWFUL
Her online class sucks, she doesnt use any visuals and lets you imagine a specific type of the body like tissues. Uses vocabularies that students are not yet familiarized with. Some of her quizzes are not on the notes that she gives and during lecture, she lets you take notes while she speaks really fast that makes me forget the definition of word
AWFUL, be prepared to sit in class for 3 hrs while she lectures and you write super fast. Avoid like your GPA depends on it. Grades are from test scores only. About 80% of the test is what is taught in class 20% is not.
I just finished Casella's remote a&p 1 summer course. This woman is the absolute worst professor I've ever had. Please, avoid her classes at all costs. Her exams are impossible, she purposefully doesn't check her email despite students begging her to, and she will make you feel stupid or flat out ignore you if you ask a question. THE WOAT
doesnt give notes claims people on her mad up test, doesnt test on material she speaks fast and ignores student cries, she inconsiderate and selfish, DO NOT TAKE HER EVEN IF SHE WAS THE LAST PROFESSOR ON EARTH, by far the worst experience ive ever encountered.
Ummm what can I say go back and take another professor. Prof. Casella isn't that great and she doesn't focus on just one thing while talking. She loses track of what shes teaching and not so great. The test and finals are CRAZZYYYY
I would absolutely not recommend Professor Casella. She teaches entirely way to fast. I felt that most of the things that were on the test wasn't even taught during the Lecture. BEWARE that she only gives you 1 min per question on tests so she doesn't really give you time to think. Also she gets all of her questions off of quizlet, if that helps.
Very boring class writes in the Chalkboard nothing on blackboard as if were in the 1970s needs to be more up to date on technology thats part of your job as a professor also when I told her I had military training on a day of class she said get the notes from someone wouldnt even Accommodate me dosent even respect if you have military training
Do not take this course with this professor. I never missed class, wrote down everything she said, studied, and STILL did not do well. She does not teach well, and does not answer questions at all. Extremely rude and unhelpful. Would not recommend this professor to anyone.
horrible professor abbreviation on everything cant really understand whats she write on the white board I feel like its worse online no reviews for exams or after gives u two exams and tells u to withdraw if ur not doing well but so rude and doesnt really help at all I need this class I study and takes what notes I can but nope
DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS! She does not care about her students passing. Will say the lecture is about one thing but then rattles on about something else and say you should already know this but test you on something else entirely. Will not help or give explanation if needed or asked for. Was a waste of time and money but I did pass.
Never missed class, wrote down everything she said, studied, and STILL did not do well. Extremely rude- does not like when people ask questions during class. Took the course online- after taking tests, you would get your grade but NEVER see what you got wrong on the test. Not sure how that works?? Would not recommend this professor to anyone.
She doesnt check her email at all, she doesnt like when students ask questions and comes across rude at times. When you get the grade for your test she gives you no way to see what you got wrong and half the time I couldnt read her handwriting for the notes. I would not recommend this professor to anyone.
speaks extremely fast and rarely allows qstns! had to rewatch EACH lecture after class and pause the video many times just to get the notes down (only took me 5 hrs per lecture). had several mental breakdowns b/c of this class. dont wait until last min to study, u will fail. save the headache and Avoid this professor if u can.
She likes to ramble alot, her exams are so difficult. She's so worried about cheating that she made her exam questions so hard to understand and makes the time limit so small that you barely have enough to get through the test. When I emailed her for advice on studying etc, she just chose to never respond. Her exams are not fair and so difficult.
She doesnt respond to emails & its like she doesnt see that everyone is scrambling to try and write notes. I dont even feel like Im learning but catching up & its like Im teaching myself the material. Also she doesnt give any breaks for two hour lectures or a second to catch up. My brain is fried by the end of class, thats how fast it is.
Do yourself a favor and avoid her. All of her lectures consist of her spewing out an enormous amount of info at 100 words per minute and assuming we can automatically just process everything she said. She refuses to give back tests, preventing us from correcting our mistakes, and her lessons are barely interactive. I feel like she WANTS us to fail.
AWFUL! The WORST professor I have ever had. There are no power points or handouts - just her lecturing & writing on the chalkboard & you copying. Her tests are difficult, have trick questions & some questions she never even taught. You are on your own in this class and have to memorize dozens of pages for her exams. It's ridiculous! Run away!!
DO NOT skip any classes! You are only graded on the midterm, project and your final exam so be prepared to study a LOT. Take lots of notes, ask questions and I strongly suggest you make a group chat to help each other out with studying. Micro was the hardest science requirement Ive taken and Casella is tough but not impossible. Good luck!
Prof. Casella never slowed down. Most nights I was teaching myself the material. She doesn't give good feedback and gets frustrated when no one understands what she is talking about. She gives no type of preparation for any of the tests. Do not take this professor if you're not ready to devote 7 days a week to this class.
I LOVED Dr. Casella! She is definitely a very fast paced professor, but will answer any and all questions you have, as long as they are relevant! As long as you work hard, pay attention, and study your notes, it is VERY possible to get an A! She is so enthusiastic, funny, and a great professor! 10/10 recommend!
Her lectures are super long and you take a wholeee bunch of notes but she uses real life examples to make her class interesting. No homework only tests. I took her class online and i liked it.
Everyone fails, she's completely unhelpful and overall such a tough professor.
horrible
I took Anatomy and Physiology I during summer (5 weeks) in person. Very fast paced and difficult, but that's expected. Some tips: 1) Four lengthy tests (60-100 questions), MC and matching - quizlet helps. 2) RECORD AUDIO! Speaks very quickly -- take good notes because even the smallest thing can be on it. 3) You don't need the textbook at all
I would never take this class again with professor casella. A&p2 was already hard and she made it even more worse. No communication, no questions are allowed, and a non stop for 2 hours and a half. The most stressful class ever!!! RUN AWAY!!
if you take her class get prepared to write a novel! she only writes on the chalk broad and will finish a brand new chalk by the end of class! she does not give paper handouts or use the smart screen. my fingers almost fell off after writing 8 pages of notes in one class!
It has truly been an honor to navigate the difficult Sciences with Dr Casella. From A&P1, II and Microbiology, she has been my mentor. She lets you voice record her lectures. If you want to learn, Dr Casella will truly challenge you. Would take her again if I have another Science subject that she teaches.
This class was harder than she made it! we arent aloud to take pictures of your lectures, we have to write everything out and she erases the board before you can finish.
Does not care about students. Zero feedback. Twisted questions on exams, using words she never used in class. Don't listen to you when you feel lost. Does not care if you understand, all she does is talk and write on the board. She treats you like you are stupid because you didn't understand something but doesn't explain. Run.
If you want to know how much your wrist can take before breaking into 1 million pieces or trying to test your writing skills then this is the teacher for you. Long lectures and most days we were being stopped before going to break with a let me add this or since we are here statements. She isn't for the weak of hearts. 4 hours of studying a day
Took her for A&P1 & cried on how difficult her exams were, they're definitely not intro level & exams you'd see if you were in med school. I retook the course again right after with another professor & scored an A. Avoid at all costs! She's nice but expects way too much for an intro class. Her notes are chalk-written & nothing's online!
do recommed taking his professor, horrible attitude towards current students.
AVOID AT ALL COST! 3 hours worth of notes all hand written (be prepared to keep up), tests are extremely hard with no study guide, tricky questions on tests. She made an entry level class feel like 4th year of med school. I gave up mid semester. JUST TERRIBLE!
hard
Prof. Casella's AP1 class is challenging, but engaging. The lectures are intense, but she uses great real-world examples. Definitely take notes and stay on top of the material. Unstuck AI was a lifesaver for practice quizzes.
never again. I'm more sad having taken this class…
I 100% recommend Professor Casella. She is extremely knowledgable and fair. Her tests are based directly from her notes. If you study and understand the material you will get an A but you have to put the work in.
Nightmare-semester! No preparation forexam, exam has a lot random questions. Ignore or become pissed when you ask questions. Talks too quickly to make notes, I had gaps in allnotes, handwriting on board is so small , impossible to see. I had A with allprofessors insemester, Casella is onlywho screw up mygrade. No consideration ifyou foreign student
Avoid Casella at all costs.
probably one of the worst professors at Wcc. gets mad when you ask a question. doesn't care about her students. you have to learn all the material on your own since she basically just grabs all the info from the textbook and rewrites them on the board. never again!!!!!
Don't take her class none of her notes are on her exams unreasonable professor difficult exams no sence to study she doesn't give hand outs the worst class ever experienced in my years of study.knew the material but how she formulate the test it's like a secret you'll never see anything on the test that's familiar to your knowledge or notes
Wicked and heartless professor don't take her class unfair testing info not taught uses difficult words and terms on exams hard to understand unknown language save yourself from this wicked encounter do not take
I don't need to say much just find another school to go to leave wcc alone run from Angella Casella she has 0 consideration, she is very unfair with testing don't bother to study you shall surely not passs she makes sure of that she fix the exams just so you will and must fail. DONT SAY I DIDNT WARN YOU!!!!!
I hope we can take out a class action lawsuit here this woman is the minion of minion she sets the exams for her students to fail and is very unbothered by it makes me wonder about something 🤔 oh and don't bother to study you still won't pass no matter how well you know the material.
I read a reveiw where someone said we should consider a class action lawsuit and I strongly agree this lady fixes all her exams for students to fail the school needs to be held accountable for this.the course is not free people's money is being wasted she is very wicked do not enter her classroom.every exam has 95% unknown info you'll never pass
Don't even bother to try you'll never pass ,exams are fixed for students to purposefully fail, notes are simple English but her exams you'll need a dictionary and encyclopedia to translate for you to pass,I'm speaking to a lawyer someone needs to look into this lady she is allowed to continue this malicious act too long wcc need some accountability
The class is as difficult as you make it to be. Write down everything she says and writes on the board and memorize them or at least study them well enough to be able to recall key information and examples of concepts and topics off the top of your head. Verbatim memorization will get an A, being able to recall key concepts will get you a B or A.
Runnnnn from Angella Casella she is fixing her exams for students to fail no matter how well you think you know the material you'll never pass she needs to be fired don't say I never tell you to avoid this woman.
Toughest professor here. Copy everything she writes. Missing class will hurt you. Manageable if you're only taking 1–3 classes, but brutal with a full STEM load.
Casella is an amazing professor for lab, but I wouldn't recommend her for lecture. Her microbiology exams are very hard, and they are worded to make you fail. If you want to really pass the class, please to writre down everything that she writes on the blackboard in lab.
Angela Casella is a horrible professor. Doesn't use PowerPoints in 2025 because she doesn't like technology. Hand writes notes with chalk. Notes are all over. She goes into so much detail but tests on the one thing you didn't study. Doesn't give exam review. The absolute worrrrst. Run.
Amazing Professor. Lecture heavy ( but its anatomy 🤷🏽‍♀️) . Writes alot of notes on the chalkboard which is helpful. Breaks down each topic for you to understand. Practicals are heavy but Gives extra credit to make up points. I would absolutely take this course again.
I started this semester knowing it wasn't going to be easy. Despite of reading the awful reviews about professor Casella I was still open minded about taking this course with her. She is an absolute nightmare - impossible to work with. I understand this is AP2 but there's no reason why she should be allowed to be such awful professor. RUN!
just awful
The class felt very unorganized. The professor refused to use PowerPoints and only wrote on the chalkboard, often losing her place and getting confused with her own notes. What we covered in class rarely matched the tests, and her explanations were unclear, making it hard to learn.
only writes on chalkboard in 2025. does not give study guides or homework/classwork, just lecture notes the entire time. be prepared to write 5+ pages of notes per lecture. tests are extremely hard, even when you study you can still fail. everyone fails her tests that she has to curve and give an extra ten points. do not recommend, STAY AWAY.
Professor Casella writes on the chalkboard only. She will test on the material given in class, don't bother with the textbook she even said that herself. Tests are extremely difficult. Get ready to memorize pages of material for the class. Learned a lot, but be ready to work for it.
