read this and listen. If all the teachers were like her I would have quit school a long time ago. Never ever take her. She has absoulutely no teaching skills what so ever. I'd rather teach myself and drink breast milk till age 25. So help me god
She's a nice professor, she'll help you out if you ask for it. Go see her during her office hours, she'll appreciate the effort.
She assumes the students should already know how to do the math problems.
Bad teacher. Her tests are idiotic, she puts definition questions on a math test!?!?! If you take her class be prepared to do your own tutoring because her method of teaching sucks! Take Gallup instead he's the best math teacher!
a good person& a fair teacher- NO late work- applies to everyone. if u took calc b4 class can drag; Don't leave her class early, she may give an assignment & your grade will suffer; Very Willing to help if u ask for it. You have2 earn your grade
She's a great teacher. She explains everything well. Sometimes she will explain the same problem over and over again, but she does it on purpose for your understanding. Her tests are challenging, but you'll learn a lot.
Very nice professor. But, her lectures can get boring sometimes. She is willing to help you whenever you are unclear about something. Exams are quite easy if you do all the homework. Be careful, she DOES NOT accept late homework.
challenging tests, really helpful and amazing hand writting
Very strict and sometimes unreasonable. She talks about problems with other students in class. Isn't sensative to the fact math is really difficult for some students, most of our class didn't pass.
She is a good teacher. The class moves very fast, so keep up. She is there for you if you need help, just ask. She is also a sweet person. If you do all the homework, although it's a ton...you will eventually understand the concept.
Mrs. Ceballos is very concerned about the success of her students. She is always willing to meet with you if you have questions. She's been extremely helpfull to me.I really appreciate her thouroughness. She is one of the best math teachers I have had.
She is unclear in her lectures and sometimes tests. She makes things confusing and even tells us she will try to trick us on the tests. She does not stay consistent with what she says either. She seems willing to help, but makes things difficult in class.
she will somewhat work w/u but she is by the book I was borderline she gave me the lower grade I feel she should have consider my HOURS in lab and gave me the higher grade.
i used to love her but after the last final i had with her i will never recumend her anymore EVER!!!!!!!!! getting low A's and high B all semester long then that HORRIBLE final so long and totally uncalled for screwed me big time i got my first C in life!
Good teacher. u may get boring in her class sometimes. but she's really helpful...by the way, her exams are easy but the final is....
I feel that the point of teaching math is to make it easy, because math can be hard in general. She made it a pain in the ass. I didn't like her lectures at all because they were very unorganized and confusing. She's unhelpful, she grades unfair on a boderline with a lowest score. Awful.
she is such a inspired person.Whenever I look at her, I cannot be lazy in the class. She works really hard to provide excellent lectures and challenge tests. Sometimes boring but keep your head up and you'll study lot more than you expected.
She would be a descent teacher if she would test her students fairly. I don't see the educational benifit in giving homework with a certain difficulty and then destroying your students on the test with much harder questions. I think she does it to make herself feel smarter.
she is really hard working and helpful. got an A in the class. the only bad thing is her test is not as easy as the homework she assign. Her exam is all about concept so it is quite hard. but tht is ok if u really understand the class!
Ms. Ceballo's class is much like a high school class: drills concepts, group works, and concerned about student progress. Exams are difficult if you don't grasp the concepts well. A nice teacher overall, but sometimes you can't help yourself but sense a bit of laziness and disorganization from her. Good "transitional" class for college freshmans.
really didn't care for he way she teaches and the way she treated me as a student.

She's a good teacher, she takes the time to explain things.. and really gets involved with all the students activities...
she is very inpacient with her students, and she tends to put you on the spot.
She is a nice teacher. She is enthusiastic in teaching and hopes her students could understand well. The tests are hard. Not easy to get an A.
i did not like her at all. she was not helpful and made the class more confusing than it had to be. DON'T TAKE HER SHE IS HORRIBLE! She doesn't care and is unwilling to help plus she tells you that you are doing fine and come the final you end up failing.
exams are hard. not easy to earn a A
Worst teacher in the world. she is **** and doesnt know what the hell she is doing. She thinks she is the smartest person in the world. She well screw you big time. Watch you back if your in her class.
good teacher.. juz doing the hw and studying seriuosly, and u 'll be fine
She's a great teacher who is always willing to help. You will do fine in the class as long as you study and do your h.w.
She's nice and helpful. You do homework hard and attend class regularly. And ask any questions you are confused. You'll get high grade on tests.
She ll make you stay in the lab even though you've finished everything, just becuase its " class time"
Above all else, Mrs. Ceballos really wants you to do well in her class. Unlike many teachers at PCC, she has regular office hours, and she's thrilled when you stop by and see her. She's really enthusiastic about what she's teaching and it's infectious. She's really good at explaining new concepts so they make sense. Absolutely recommended.
Mrs.Ceballos is a extremely kind lady. She is always trying to explain things clearly and helps students a lot when asking her questions. But there's a lot of HW should be done on time and tests are kinda tricky sometimes. Plus, if you read the book carefully and comprehend all the concepts, you'll do well on tests and get high grades. (I got A.)
If you want to learn math and expression of math in English, you should take her classes. She is nice and helpful when you ask her questions.oh~@!!Watch her if you feel that she is watching you, you can communicate with each other with eyes.BTW,I got an A.
Ceballos works hard for her students and expects the same from them. she is a very good teacher, very kind and sweet lady, she really cares about her students, and wants to make sure they understand their material. as long as you do your work and do your part as a student, you should be able to pull of a high grade in this class.
hated her with a passion! people may do well with her, not me! ignored my questions and refused to go over problems i got wrong on exams. grades u good if she likes u.
Tests are ridiculously hard. She goes through the easiest problems while teaching the lesson, and then expects you to know the most difficult problems on the test. Don't take this class. Stay away from this teacher. Hell, don't take Math classes at PCC period. From my experience, the professors are just horrible.
Do not recommend taking her class! She is extremely difficult and does not review before her exams or homework questions. She waits till the last day to post answers to her study guide. Her tests are hard!! To pass the class you must study hard and really understand the concepts of calculus. Don't expect to pass by just completing the homework.
Don't take her 5A class!!! there only 16/36 students left, and half of them are C- or d. Her exams are extremly hard.
ms. ceballos is very helpful. she is a nice lady and it seems like she loves teaching. she knows her material real well and translate math into english. however, her test are extremely hard to the point where it hurts. whatever the grade you get, your grade would be more meaningful in this class...if you plan on taking this class, do all ur hwk!
One of the worst professors I have had! I will admit that she is nice, but she cannot teach worth her life. She goes over the most simple examples in the lesson and then puts the hardest problems on the exams. She doesn't even teach... she just does it and tells it how it is. Do yourself a favor and don't enroll in her class.
i take all the mean things from her. i am taking 5b right now... and believe me... she taught us WELL! shes mean but if u plan on taking 5b... u can't go wrong taking her.. she is hardcore to the max but take her anyway... youll be happy in 5b
I have to admit that she is a really nice teacher, but the tests are little tricky.Honesttly,I dunt really understand what she is teaching in the class,I have to find my own ways of tutoring.
I took one of her rare Intermediate Algebra classes and found her to be incredibly helpful. She spent extra time with students that needed extra help. She was accommodating, smart and really went out of her way to make sure everyone understood the material and was able to modify lectures to multiple intelligence levels as needed.
teacher is horrible...I did well on all the tests and just because i missed two classes, my grade dropped a whole letter! that is unbelievable. I mean yes..attendance is important, but when it affects your grade to this extent it is going too far.dont take this teacher you never know when you will miss class and because you missed, your grade drops
Professor Ceballos' exams are difficult, especially for people with a bad background in math. However, she teaches well and she is always willing to help you understand. Take her if you want a good foundation for future calculus classes.
She is very nice and helpful, always willing to answer any questions in class. Her notes are very clear and organized. And she is funny,sometimes.5A is not easy,so do spend your time on the hw and review.Tests are ok,if you study hard and follow her pace.I really had a good time in her class since she is so kind!
she is a nice person but not a great teacher. tests are tricky, filled with hard problems, and not the examples she used in class. if youre good at math take her, if youre bad, stay away!! i got an A in my math 402 class and failed this one. :(
She is a good teacher, 5A it's not that easy, you have to do homework, you will learn from your hw, and test review, don't just copy the answer from the solutions book, you have to do by yourself, working hard, you will get A, take her class only one hint, focus on hw and test review.
Even though math is not an easy subject for me, Mrs. Ceballos explained it and was repetitive with the work, so the student may memorize the steps. I am hoping to take a different Math class with her, because she is always willing to assist with math questions
She doesn't know how to teach!!! Just read the book and do some homework, you will be fine. And she favors certain students.
Really nice and helpful. explains everything crystal clear. no quiz and exam based on lecture, and could be challenging. Take good notes and understand the hw problem will help u get A.
This teacher is very helpful when you go to her Office. However, she has difficult tests and does not take late homework. She puts very tricky questions on the test and usually selects 1 problem from class that you didn't even know you went over. For me the solutions manual was a must, but even then some HW took over 5 hrs. 2 hrs std. Not worth it.
I was retaking the course and thought it was going to be difficult. However, Ceballos really spent plenty of extra time to help study before & after tests (something not many prof.'s are willing to do). I can't stress enough how much help she gave. Just show up to classes & don't fall behind. You'll do fine. Take her!
She is a terrible teacher. Great if your already a good Math Student, but if you struggle with Math, forget it. Her lectures were so confusing because they were given ahead of class assignments. Thank God for the Tutors in the Math Lab. Not helpful to me at all.
Love her! Works very hard with you when you have trouble, and makes practice tests 10x harder than the real test so you know you'll pass if you study the practice test. Do the homework, especially the practice test, and you'll do great.
a nice teacher that can't teach. you are practically required to buy a solutions manual if you want to succeed. if your life is math you will get a B maybe an A. but if you have other classes and you can't spend 6+ hours each homework understanding all that is calculus, forget it. don't waste your time. take calc at a 4 yr
A nice person, but not a good teacher. VERY VERY unclear and confusing lectures, likes to jump all over the places. Likes to write a lot of notes on board but most of them are just words she said not the problem or solution. I spend the whole class time figure out what she said in the last 15 mins. If you try to learn calc, dont take her.
Great Teacher. Always willing to spend extra time to help you understand subject matter, if you are willing to ask. Makes herself available to students.
EASY A JUST DO HW AND STUDY
If you aren't good at math she can't help you. Her method of teaching is not good. Stay away if you're bad at math. She does put questions on the test that she didn't go over yet. She's a little scatterbrained and likes to call on people in class who don't know the answers just to embarrass them. Not conducive to learning.
Well she has very nice personality; however her class is very unclear. She spends most of the class time proving some theories instead of teaching us how to solve problems. Tests on each chapter. Her practice problems are extremely hard, and somewhat irrelevant to the tests. Tests are pretty easy as long as you spend time to do exercises.
She is nice but not helpful. she ofen makes mistakes while sloving problem or proving theory in class. so confusing. tests are fairly easy but the need more calculation. be careful on test that u will get a A or B.
She is a nice professor, and takes extra time to help you out, especially in office hours. But her tests are unreasonably difficult; nearly every question is a trick, and the toughest ones are weighted so heavily that even a small mistake plunges you down two or more letter grades. Avoid her.
Avoid. Expect a Ton of HW due every meetings. No Graphing Calc's on tests. Very unclear in explaining things. Throws some tricks on tests. Unless your familiar with Calc already, you will not understand her clearly. I've never rated a professor, but she was so bad I had to. I took Calc my sophomore year so I suggest you take this review to thought
She is extremely nice, sweet & is willing to help you during office hours. But, she is not a good calc professor. Her notes are not helpful at all and her tests are so hard! She assigns so much homework and the practice problems she tells us are not even on the test! If you have taken calc, then this class will be easy for you, otherwise, good luck
The homework is easy yet she makes all the exam questions a trick. Some she makes up on her own that aren't even from the book. Everything on the test has to be explained how she wants it to or else you won't get credit. Don't take her unless you're really good at trig.
she really makes it seem like she wants to help but when it comes down to it she really doesn't. Lots of hw that do not contribute in any way to helping on tests... to which i ask, why was it assigned in the first place? unorganized professor, probably should take someone else.
Where do I begin.. I loved math BEFORE this class & got As. But I studied so much & did poorly on her tests. Every question was SO tricky, & something not seen before. Doing every problem in the book wouldn't even get you an A (trust me). She is very unclear and treats you like a kindergartner. Unless youre a super genius, dont even think about it!
The worst professor at PCC! She treats her students like kids and is not helpful at all. Do not take her! You'll regret it, trust me!!!
she is such a good teacher, you will get a little bored because this class is so easy to pass.
Worst teacher at PCC! She makes you think that she'll help, but doesn't help at all. Do not take her!
very unclear on what she wants, she treats us like 5 year old children, tough grader.
she is a bad teacher she teaches one way then tests on something different . Gives way to much homework and is a very hard grader
She has no teaching ability whatsoever so she attempts to make up for it by giving tons of homework as well as making you watch online videos. You can tell she tries hard but it really doesn't matter. Her lectures are long, boring, and really aren't helpful. You're better off reading the text book on your own.
DONT DO IT. Took this as a night class and she always kept us 5-15 min past class. Shes very unorganized. She has no Answer Sheet for her tests; whoever gets 100% then their test will be her Answer Sheet. Discouraging. Constantly telling ppl they should just drop and stop wasting her time. Nothing she teaches is even on the tests. Please dont do it
Her teaching doesnt help the test she gave and the test questions are more different from the class she teaches for us dont take her class
homework is online tests are way different from the questions she assigns on the homework
She is so disorganized that i would leave the class frustrated. I would show up to her class strictly for attendance only. After a few lecture i began to turn off my ears and not participate because her lack of Knowles was evident. The material is very easy; the teacher makes it a difficult as possible.
Worst teacher ever! Her test are challenging which makes believe she did not make them. Her lessons are text book guided and unorganized. Find another teacher.
I do not recommend this instructor. Reasons why: Does not give a study guide, does not give exams based on HW. BIG ONE: Does not go over exams when she hands them back to see where you went wrong, so you can prepare for the Final Exam. She just hands them back at the END of class and has YOU figure out what you did WRONG. Wanna pass? Get tutor!
Prof Ceballos is super into math and the lectures are good when she really gets into it. I like how during her lectures, she stops to make us work on problems on our own and makes sure we understand before continuing I normally hate math but she helped me out. Def would take again she's such a sweetheart
Angela Ceballos is a difficult professor to learn from. She is regularly unprepared for lectures and quickly fell behind her scheduled lesson plan during my class with her. She struggles to explain core concepts at length when queried and is very dependent upon group work and online homework to fill in the gaps. Not recommended.
Ceballos was one of the few terrible teachers I had at PCC. Granted, she is a nice person at heart, she's just not that caring of a teacher. She is a messy lecturer, gives unnecessary homework, and won't budge on the grade she thinks you deserve.
She depends on MyMathLab a lot. She kind of treats her students as if they were children. She falls behind a lot in her lessons. However if you're good at math, this should be an easy class. She regularly updates grades on canvas, so that's good. Her tests and quizzes are related to the lectures and homework, so there will be no surprises.
Treats students like children, annoying and kicks people out of class for stupid reasons. Not a good teacher. Only took her because she had a good rating.. big mistake
After taking Ceballos for Math 125, I found Math 131 to actually be pretty easy because I was so prepared. This is a college math course, so of course there will be lots of homework but doing it will prepare you for the exams. Take her if you really want to learn math and be prepared for future math classes. She will also help u if u struggle.
She makes every single person in the class raise their hand to get everyones attention. She will not continue letter unless EVERYONE has a hand up. She will take your phone away even if you were just checking time or using a calculator. Tests score will be given to you two weeks later and homework grades will be missing. Expect tons of homework!
Treats college students like children attending elementary school, do not recommend. Would definitely call her one of the worst professors of PCC
She's a very caring professor and had good communication with students. She makes sure everyone understands the subject before move on the next one. Quite a lot of homework/mymathlab but they are very close to the test/exam. She would stay extra after class to answer any of your question and make sure to use her office hours.
I don't know why lots of negative comments are here. I really think Ms. Ceballos is an excellent professor. For people who say she takes away your phone during the lecture, please, you are not elementary students, she mentions at the very beginning of the semester that she doesn't allow phone use in her class. This a math class, not phone class.
Professor Ceballos is really caring, and she'll answer all your questions step by step, so you'll know what she's talking about. Math is hard itself, so don't blame the professor for failing the course. She's really nice, you won't regret taking her class.
Great professor. Tries really hard to give lots of examples and make sure that people understand the material. Show up and pay attention. That's not asking for much!
She's really caring but gives you weekly quizzes and almost weekly exams. Will give you quizzes with in two days after teaching the subject. Gives you a lot of online homework (web assign), and expects you to study all chapters before the exam. If you're good at math, highly recommend. If you're not good at math, don't take it.
grades are mainly based off your test scores. There is a lot of HW, however it does prepare you for the test. Homework must be turned in on webassign and on paper. check canvas for Hw updates. She will tell you if there is a quiz. Retook this class and received a B. Test are easy compared to the last class I took. Participation matters. Go 2 class
FOR "D" AND "C" STUDENTS: Do NOT take this professor! Her lectures are very long and tedious, she is unable to clearly communicate a concept, and she will not round grades up .5%, EVEN IF you have attended every single class, participated every single class and tried your best. "A" and "B" students will do okay in here.
She is so caring and lovely. I think she is the best math teacher in my life. She also majored in psychology so you can also learn how we learn and you can also learn the way preparing the test or way improve your mathematical skills. She is kind and friendly. She has lots of interest in caring students. She was the best! Thann you!
she is very random and unorganized with lectures , the class vibe is horrible and dull , the hours are literally in the middle of the day which sucks , hard exams , unsympathetic about personal issues , gives alot of homework , pop quizzes , STRESS .
Truly the worst Professor on this Campus. I could not exaggerate if I could. I've never done a rating, not even for the good teachers, but she has changed my mind on rating on professors. Very unorganized, not fair, and would rather see you fail than succeed. The amount of homework she gives you is unbearable and only worth 10% of your grade.
She a rambler and will talk off subject often. She does not give clear instructions. She will give you a quiz every week. Gives a large amount of homework. She does not take late homework and she won't tell you. its also not in the syllabus she gives you. there is no extra credit. exams will heavily affect your grades
Had to learn on my own. Lectures were confusing, classes that I didn't attend actually helped my understanding. Prepare to spend hours of time on homework that is never graded. 4 exams and a final, worth 70 percent. Tests are way harder than any classwork and she gives barely any time. The class average was 48% on tests, very harsh grader. RUN!
i stopped going to lectures (online class) because i was not learning anything from her so i ended up teaching myself. lots of homework, she fell behind other classes on the same subject so more hw was assigned, tests worth so much but not enough prep for it (review+hw was easier than what was on test). also takes forever to grade and respond2email
The professor is very generous and has amazing lectures. She assigns assignments for every lectures to help us get enough practice for our exams. I would love you to take the class with this professor as she covers up all the content and ace the exams.
Get ready to have a good foundation of the basics before taking her course, as long as you do the due diligence you should be fine, her test problems aren't the best. They do not mimic the things you do in class but it makes you think outside the box for when you do need to take higher math classes.
Very kind hearted person who invests effort in her students and material. Math is my worst subject yet lectures are clear and her style is easy to understand. Reviews similar to exams. Helpful in office hours, 1on1 she can explain concepts in different styles. Have to put in effort to pass, some reviews show that they simply didn't do the work.
I had to take this course because my 4 on the AP exam wasn't good enough, apparently. Mrs. Ceballos is a very nice lady but without background knowledge of this content, you will not do well, I assure you. No multiple choice, no curve, no drop test, NO little note paper for the final, you're on your own. And she makes errors on test problems.
Love her so much, teaches very well from basic, exam is a bit tricky. an absolute angel. Care about student grades and give many chances to students coming to grade. Easy grader. She curve up the grade. understand math because of her . Good for whoever English is second language. I freaking love her so much.
I had to take this class for my major. The way she teaches often becomes confusing. You should definitely be prepared to self-study than to listen to her lectures. Many tests and quizzes will be taken. Scores are given really late(usually around 2 weeks later). Textbook is online only and homework doesn't even relate to the tests/quizzes at all.
So basically, I had her last year, Spring 2023, for Calculus I Single Variable. She will do everything in her might to help you pass. You have to at least do the same thing forward in terms of effort.
If you put in the effort then she will find ways to boost your grade. My advice is really undestand concepts like ExtremeValueThm and closed interval method, tangent lines, and review algebra w/sq.roots and trig deriv & integrals. Random quizziz to gauge the overall class understanding.
Terrible, I would go to her for help and she would make me feel stupid for asking questions. Quizzes were extremely hard and had nothing to do with the homework she gave. Had to drop her class and take a different teacher.
Professor Ceballos is clearly a little off her rocker. She's very nice but it is clear that she doesn't know what she is doing a lot of the time and does not clearly explain the content. Students talk to each other about the mistakes she makes on the board and lost my respect. She's nice but she's old and a little crazy. Class was easy enough.
She is a super kind old lady, but sometimes problems are brushed over. She also is a little uncoordinated sometimes so lectures can get confusing, and hw can be super long but is basically required since she often puts hw problems on the quizzes. Definitely helpful to know some calc 2 beforehand bc her teaching often isn't enough at all.
Prepare well and engage with the material - Professor Ceballos will work to help you succeed. The tests can be challenging, but tools like unstuck AI can complement your study efforts. Overall, a worthwhile class with a helpful instructor.
There is so much HW that does not directly relate to the lessons or tests/quizzes. Be prepared to learn physics and chemistry as well(I'm not joking). I do not understand where this narative of her trying to do her absolute best to raise your grade came from but that was definitely not the case for me. Do not take this class at all costs!
In the nicest way possible, i would not recommend her. she does not let you retake quizes/tests, you could literally be sick or have ur grandparents in the hospital and she would wanna ask u for proof and make it a big deal just to retake a quiz. New assignments are posted literally every day, and she makes the assignments way too confusing.
DO NOT TAKE HER. you will end up dropping her later in the semester or failing her class. the exams are worth so much while the rest of the work is worth nothing. don't take this class if you're genuinely trying to learn math or get an easy grade because it won't happen. also, she won't care if you had an emergency, you'll need to show “proof”
She does not explain very well, but she provided good notes. Although she is sweet, 50% of your grade is based off of tests, and her homework is worth nothing. She gives no curves, the average for each test is around 50%, and she constantly picks/calls on people that don't understand the material. I do not recommend taking her classes.
She is very nice. But as person she really DOES care about you, helps you etc. I went to her office hours, A LOT!!! I was meeting her more than my own family. However, every time she was happy to help me, and explained even 10 times if needed which I really appreciate. Overall, if you accidentally took her, hope you are religous, and can pray!
