Before taking this class I had absolutely no interest in the subject. However, Dr. Dalhoe made the material both fun and easy to understand. I took the 3 hour afternoon section and never got bored of the class. Easy to talk to, work with, and learn from. She also is good at giving extra credit if you're struggling!

Take her!!! best class i have taken. She loves her subject and really helps you with anything. goes over quizzes (2) and midterm if too many people get something wrong she drops the question. lectures are from the book but you still need to read to fully understand. if you read and go to class you should be fine!! take her!! awesome class!!!!!!!!!!

My favorite professor! Dr. Dalhoe is very kind and laid back. She is always 100% willing to help people with whatever they need. She is very knowledgeable on the subject of special education and she has an incredible talent for making lectures interesting. I took a three hour evening class and I always felt engaged.

Dr. Dalhoe is so passionate about children with disabilities and she is extremely knowledgeable and experienced in this area. She makes a long class fun and very enjoyable. Take her if you can-she is awesome!

Great professor! Very entertaining and keeps you engaged during lecture. Tests and quizzes are pretty easy, just study the powerpoints. I'd highly recommended taking her for SPED 200!

Dr. Dalhoe is AWESOME! I had her for a three hour class but it always went by so fast. She is so entertaining and really knows what she is talking about. I'd recommend taking Sped 200, even if you aren't going to do anything with Sped. It's so interesting!

I absolutely loved this class. Dr. D is so lively and engaging that it didn't even feel like a 3 hour class. She breaks up lecture with videos so that we could see the material we were learning in a 'real' setting. Exams/quizes were all online (even the midterm and final). Take this class! It is worth your time!

Needed this for a GE, and professor Dalhoe was the best! Super fun and brings in fun things like candy throughout the semester. She's considerate and understanding that the 3 hour classes are long, and offers a break midway. Tests are not bad at all if you take good notes! Only a midterm and final, and maybe 3 quizzes. All online!!

One of the best professors I've had so far! Dr. Dalhoe is super funny and shares some awesome stories! You only have 2 quizzes, the midterm, and the final. All of them are online. Easy participation points with discussion boards and group activities throughout the semester. I definitely recommend taking her!

I looked forward to this class every week because of Dr. D! She is hilarious and very passionate about Special Education. I learned so much from her. The class is so easy: the tests are online, so you can use your notes, there are a few discussion boards that are kinda annoying but easy, in class group work, and a reflection paper. Take her!

Dr. D. is great! Classes are interesting and fun. You will learn everything you needs for an intro course. Take her for sure if you have the choice.

She is a great professor, knows what she is talking about, and has a lot of experience. She is hilarious and makes the almost three hour lecture interesting. She was one of my favorite professors. There is in class group work, discussion, and online quizzes, testes, and discussion boards. There is almost no homework. This was my favorite class.

Dr. Dalhoe is a great professor. She clearly knows what she is talking about. Very easy class! All open note tests and quizzes, no textbook/reading, very little homework. Even though it was a three hour class, it went by fast because she is so engaging.

Okay, yeah. She lectures a lot. But she has a great personality so listening to her lectures can be pretty interesting. There is no textbook and no formal tests. Almost all of the things we were graded on were completed in class. She's very flexible and will do what she can to ensure you pass with a good grade.

Makes the lectures worth it and relates the things that you are learning to stories of things that have happened to her. Sometimes moves classes to online. Very lecture heavy but very meaningful and organized lectures.

Easily the best professor I've ever had. This course can be super easy if you show up, take notes, and participate in the small group activities. All quizzes and exams are online on your own time, so you can use your notes which makes these assessments very easy. Assignments are very easy if you are detailed with your responses. Take Dr. D!

Dr. D is the greatest and most inspiring prof at uwec. I was an elementary ed major, but after taking her class I switched to special ed. She is unbelievably passionate and cares a lot about her students. While the class is long, I was never bored, she keeps it interesting with her sense of humor and activities.

Dr. D is super entertaining and gives great lectures! I think she is kind of a hard grader compared to the rest of the SPED professors. She's also pretty strict and will call you out on things.

AMAZING. I never thought I'd be able to sit through an almost 3 hour lecture. She's hilarious and a really good educator. She knows her stuff and has some great stories to make the content come to life. The points you earn in this class is mostly in class except for a few only quizzes and the midterm and final which are also online.

Dr. D is amazing. Showing up to class is important but she makes a 2 and a half hour lecture go by so quickly!! She keeps you engaged and I would definitely recommend taking her class if you are a SPED major. She was the reason I decided to double major in both SPED and Elementary Ed!!

Dalhoe is definitely passionate about the subject of special education and truly wants the best for her students! I never studied for any of the tests or quizzes. just pay attention in class and youll never need to study. The class met for 3 hours once a week which was kind of draining, but dalhoe always kept the class engaged. Would take again!

This was an awful semester due to COVID 19 but Dr. Dalhoe made it a smooth transition. I really liked my time with her in class (about 6 weeks before we closed) but the online was good too. She is super fast responding to emails and really cares about her students. Dont try to get away with stuff cuz she will will call you on it. Great class.

This class ended up going online because of COVID, but it is easily the best online class I have ever taken. It was so incredibly organized, an appropriate amount of work for the class level and time that we would have been there, and I DIDN'T HAVE TO TEACH MYSELF! that is pretty much unheard of with online classes. take this class if ya can.

Online learning is NOT easy but Dr. Dalhoe makes it possible. She is very clear with her directions and expectations. She does lectures that are actually interesting.

Its hard to connect with professors and peers when your classes are forced online due to COVID, yet Dr. D made me feel like she was connecting with me through the screen. Her assignments and expectations are very clear cut, and it was a great introduction to the subject matter. Would definitely take a class of hers again.

Took SEIP 200 online in the summer. Dr. Dalhoe was very flexible and organized. Easily the best online class I have ever taken. Not my major, but a great course. Very informative.

She is an AMAZING professor, the best that I ever had at UWEC. I got a bad grade on my first test and met with her to discuss what I got wrong. She WANTS you to learn what is taught in the class, and understands things may be going on at home! Super understanding, super hilarious and 10/10.

She is the only professor that can hold my attention for an entire hour and 15 minute lecture. She is very thorough and relates to stories well. She is amazing to work with if something isn't going well in class, but is also there for support in your personal life when needed. She is passionate about the topic and her love for teaching is apparent.

I liked the organization of the online course. She had clear templates for quick weekly assignments. As long as you listen to the recorded lectures and take notes, the exams are not a problem. For an online course, it fits well with a busy schedule because everything is open for the entire week.

Dr. Dalhoe is such a great professor! She is very knowledgable and I have learned so much from the class. IF you take a class with Dr. Dalhoe just make sure to stick to the grading criteria she sets. She gives out outlines for each assignment so it's easy to follow the criteria. Stickler on well thought out responses so don't BS on her assignments.

Make sure you come to class for Turn and Talks every class period. You get to use notes on every quiz and exam. Even the final. Very low risk class, entertaining. Very good teacher!

Loved this class because it fit into my busy schedule. consists of lecture check points, activities and videos. Only had one discussion which was super easy. Just follow the template and do what they say. Make sure you meet sentence requirements and WATCH ALL LECTURES AND TAKE NOTES. All tests and quizzes are based on lectures and tests are timed!

I took this online over winterim and she was an amazing professor. For the online class there is a very consistent schedule. It is completely asynchronous and there are no zoom lectures that you have to attend. I feel like I learned a lot and hope to take an in person course with her! Definitely recommend!!

She is AWESOME! Funny, respectful, caring. I went through a very rough Fall2024 semester, and she helped me back on track. She's understanding and you can really tell that she cares so much about what she does. I wish the SEIP department had more professors like Dr. Dalhoe

Dr. D is awesome! She wants you there and uses the word “engaged” ALL THE TIME lol! As long as you follow the expectations you will do great. she works with you if you have something gong on in your life. I have never had a more understanding prof. Dr. D. cares and wants you to do a good job. She also brings snacks to her early morning classes!

I had some personal stuff happen during the semester and she met with me a bunch of times to work it out and get a good grade. I dont like online classes but this one was different. Good teacher and person for sure!
