Angela is one of the coolest teachers ever! She is so laid back and fun and she makes ancient civilizations really interesting. It's a great class to take whether you've taken a diff teacher before or it's your first hist class. But with Angela you have to READ THE BOOK!!!! She pulls EVERYTHING from the book so if you read it you're set for life.
She may be very nice but not very clear on the material. More than once she was completely unprepared to teach the class & I felt like I was wasting my time...and I was excited about this class - to my disappointment...
Great teacher. Made the class come alive and very interesting. Learned a lot. Looked forward to every class and not just because she was nice to look at. ;)
LOVE HER!!! GREAT TEACHER!!! More interested in students learning and finishing assignments than time constraints. Wants us to succeed. I recommend this class for anyone, but you have to take it with Angela!
Her Study guides tell you exactly what is important in her class. She has those new history films off of the history channel which tend to be very interesting. If you take this class and get behind don't give up! Let her know what's going on and get you work in. get best response through e-mail. This was one of the best classes I have ever taken.
She is a great teacher. Passionate about her subject. Loves History and is very good at teaching her subject.
sweet, nice, and understand teacher! take her!
Awesome teacher. She is so helpful and willing to put in extra time to help you. She is fantastic!!!
Angela is a wonderful person but when it comes down to it,this class was difficult 4 me & I am an A student.U Just take notes/lectures everyday. She knows her subject but it is hard to grasp because she is almost too good at it.I'm not exagerating when this class was not an easy walk in the park like I thought.
Angela is very nice, but on pretty much every quiz and test it turns out to be way harder than she said.I mean super hard and confusig.Fills the board with notes that u copy down everyday and just lectures.Pretty difficult to take everything in.Truly was not an easy A.Lots of reading & studying.Be Cautious...really.
Angela was a great teacher she is willing to help any way she can. You can get an a if you just put forth some effort. Her tests are all take home but they are hard. Almost all of the information you need comes out of the book so read.
Wonderful teacher, but not the easiest class. TONS of notes, there's a lot of material to cover in a short time, but she's great at explaining things. Just write everything down and make sure that you're listening, quizzes are take home, and tests are open note. You won't ever get out early, but you'll get an A.
Angela is very helpful and understanding. Lots of lecturing. Her tests and quizzes are mostly all take home! The only tests that you take in class are map quizzes of the US and Middle East, and the final. You only have to write one five page paper. I got an A+ on every assignment and I barely opened the book! She offers extra credit too. Take her!!
She is great, take my advise she is why i am a history major
Wasn't really interested before hand, little bit more now. Definitely not a good class to take as an 8-week course, was too rushed. But she is a nice teacher and understanding.
Angela was a great teacher. She makes learning about history fun . However, not an easy class to take for a 6 week course. There is just too much history to cram into such a short time.
I never liked History before, but after taking her class, I decided to minor in History cause she really made things interesting. I completely recommend her!!
dont think anything, just TAKE IT! sooo easy to goe "A" she's trying to give all students good grade
TAKE HER!!! she is the best professor!!! seriously the easiest history class, makes you actually like learining history. she explains the material soo well. take home test, final is not difficult at all as long ass u study the study guide easy A .
She is a good teacher but she just pass when students use racial slur or use inappropriate languages. As history teacher she should be neutral and love all kind of culture and people. She takes side and when she gives us assignment she wants us to take side with her otherwise we get less grade.
This Medieval History class was outstanding; the teacher is dedicated, communicates well, and encourages participation; she is fair to everyone; the class covered a wealth of information; I recommend this class to history majors and everyone with any interest in the araa.
took this online. good teacher but HARD class. the midterm is WAY easy, but the assignments are tough. 2 quizes and a final.
Super easy class.... assignments are easily graded and all quizzes are take home. She gives you a study guide for the mid ter mand the final and allows notecards for both. It would be hard NOT to get an A
Love her! Take her if you need a history class. Even better over summer or short term b/c then you don't have to the the research paper. She puts up all her notes and pp's online and also gives you a study guide for the final. I don't particularly like history but she made it interesting and an easy class to attend.
I took this class online and Angela made is extremely interesting and do-able! She commented and participated in conversation and the assignments were actually kind of fun to do, fairly graded, and you had more than enough time to complete them. Lots of reading since it's online, but it's easy reading. Definitely would take her again!
GREATEST TEACHER EVER!!! i took her 100 class during summer and then 101 this fall. absolutley the best history teacher ever. whether you're a history buff, or you hate history, i can promise you, you will LOVE this class. shes funny, articulate, smart, caring, fair and entertaining. LOVED going to this class!!!!! TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent online presentation. Clear, concise, and thought provoking. Must participate in weekly thread, which is more interesting than you'd guess. Responds equally, has 3 mult. choice tests + 1 paper, switches in between two books and doesn't care what edition you have. Sets the bar high for other online classes.
Common advice: AVOID HER! She gives no direction on anything and is very CONDESCENDING to everyone. She thinks everyone is high on pot all the time so she belittle's people. Teaching style is whatever she feels like that day. The material is easy, but she wants to make it hard on purpose. Read the F'ing book, thats my only advice.
Great class! Super cool teacher! Only problem is the other students. Teacher tried to start class discussions, but they sucked because no one ever was willing to get involved.
Good class. Teacher kept it interesting. Really put the present into perspective.
Took this class online. Very organized, grades pretty fast. Does respond to at least 3 people a week. Her posts are challenging and require a lot. Her lectures are like 9 pages long along with reading 30 pages in a book. This class does require a lot of work but she is a good teacher overall.
I thought this class was pretty was easy, particularly for online. The hardest part was probably the Web Quest, but isn't too bad once I figured out a topic. The tests aren't bad if you use the book(s) and lectures. It's one of the easier A's I've gotten.
Angela is a wonderful professor! She makes the subject she teaches really interesting, and she is fun and easy to get along with. She is also a very easy grader and pretty much gives you the answers for the tests before you take them! Take her if at all possible, you will love her!
Awesome! If your a history lover or not she is great! She wants you to pass her class and does her best so that you do. If anyone fails it's because you just didn't do the assignments.
Wonderful teacher! very informative and there is no way that you could forget about this online class. A lot of reading but it is a fun class. Mrs. Fares is a very sweet teacher. She emails back almost right away. I highly reccomend taking her class. I wish more teachers were like her.
Feres will be the best teacher you encounter at grossmont. She assigns extra credit/ study guide for midterm was identical to test. If you fail this class, drop out of college cause you will not exceed an any other classes. Nice Booty too
Online. Angela is very clear on what shes wants and responds quickly to emails. Shes pretty lenient on the discussion board, just make sure to respond with enough sentences. The work was easy but everything was really interesting and i liked the assignments. Didn't have to do much reading at all. Only two quizzes and a final. Take her.
Professor Feres is awesome! Normally I'm not a big fan of history, but she makes the class fun to go to. She always takes time to answer questions in class, but sometimes doesn't finish her lectures because of this. Great class, absolutely loved it.
Great teacher. Very willing to help and wants to you learn. Very fair with test questions and grading.
She ia very easy teacher as long as you keep up with t he reading assignments. Everything is power points and it is available on blackboard so before you even go to class you can have those notes waiting for you. She is pretty laid back and even offers extra credit.
Feres comes across as a huggable kindergarten teacher. The class is amazingly easy. She obviously loves history & enjoys teaching it. She could improve the class by using more media in the classroom to break up the long stretches of lecture. She provides entirely too much extra credit & it's ironic because you will not need any extra credit.
Angela is the best professor I have had so far. I loved her class and i learned a lot. Her tests are super easy. the study guides she gives you have all the questions for the midterm and the final. She was super nice and wasn't crazy about being in class every day. She is so sweet! I will definitely take her again!
Intelligent professor, loves history.
Angela is a great teacher. I really liked her for modern world history. She was very clear and really makes the subject come alive! She's always organized. Lots of notes, but all are online if you miss any. Gives LOTS of opportunites to suceed. Take her!! you will not be sorry!
take this class with angela! she is so fun at 8am and makes history fun and makes it all stick with you. 4 take home tests, flash cards for midterm and final. you can opt for a presentation instead of final. love her! <3
BEST PROFESSOR EVER !!!!!! if you don't pass this class at least with an A you're crazy. Very clear and lovable. She is seriously a one of kind professor. 5 take home test and 2 inclass tests. Just read and study and you'll be fine. Seriously I would recommend her
Easy, study guide is really helpful prior to tests. She's a hottie.
I'm taking the online course History 100 & OMG I LOVE IT. She is super sweeeett!!! She is always online and she is always willing to help out any student that needs help! She replies back to e-mails fast & she is super organized. This is my first online class and I was so scared in the beginning, but i'ma take more online classes thanks to her! :)
BEST TEACHER EVER! If you are looking for an easy A, TAKE HER! She is one of the sweetest, most caring teachers i've had at grossmont. All tests except for midterm and final are at home, online. She also gives quite a bit of extra credit opps. Very easy grader so there is no excuse not to get an A! She is an A+++ teacher :D
She is an amazing professor. I took her her 101 in-class then took her 100 online. Weekly discussions that are easy and straightforward and most important interesting. 3 tests and a final that are super easy. End of the semester research paper that is easy as well. Overall she is perfect. I wish every professor in the world was like her
Angela is the best HIST professor ever! You will deserve an A and get many things out of history as well. Believe me, she's a nice professor and helpful.
TAKE HER!!! You won't regret it....
Fun class, fun assignments. A few tests & a final, with a 5 page paper near semester's end. Discussion board about every week. Middle age Europe and West. Civ. history obviously touch on religion a lot, but I don't remember this much religion when I went to school before. It must be coming back into vogue, or maybe I just missed that part before.
Feres is a great teacher. Just stay on top of reading the textbook, and read the whole chapter. Her (online) assignments are page long discussion board essays on specific topics from within the chapters, but the tests are far more in depth. So read your whole chapters!
She's really sweet (even ignores really rude students rather than say anything). Ridiculously easy A (but super easy to cheat as I've seen! My friend took her class and never showed up (sometimes came for last 20 min), cheated on tests, totally failed the final, and still passed. That's annoying for us who work. So easy to get an A, why cheat? :-/
Angela's class is beyond easy. One discussion board a week, which is a page answering her questions on that weeks chapter. If no discussion board that week, then a test. Everything is very clear and she is super enthusiastic about each assignment. I would take her again if she taught more.
I love taking history online because I hate history! It's much easier and this teacher is very easy when it comes to assignments. You can pass with a B if you BS everything like i did, so I'm assuming all of you history lovers will get an easy A!
Amazing professor. Easy class. She's very helpful and always makes you feel that she's there for you. Take this class!!!!
We had bought an online DVD for the course along with podcasts (less than 100 dollars total). We had weekly discussion posts due every sunday. Exams were part mc and part fill in the blank. Disliked the fill in the blank because of capitalization. Other than that great class would take same prof. again.
Angela is an amazing online professor! Even though we only know her through a computer screen, she does everything she can to be helpful and fun! All you do is post discussions online every Sunday night and respond to two other classmates based on the reading and a podcast you must listen to. Also, there is one paper that is fairly simple. Easy A!
I took this history class online and this is by far my absolute favorite teacher I've had. She is kind and understanding, she assigns discussion boards weekly based off the book and tests after every unit. This class was interesting and she made it an enjoyable class to be in! All assignments usually due Sunday at midnight. Love love love!
Professor was very nice, and understanding. I actually enjoyed reading her weekly updates because she was so positive and kind. SADLY, this was the most boring class I have ever taken. Easy online schedule, and most assignments are easy, just time consuming and boring. The tests take a lot of time as you literally have to look up each answer. :(
I took her online class & i passed ! Considering I don't like history at all and the professor made it fun. Participating is a must ! Few papers were due , overall great teacher who responded right away with positive feedback if help was needed . I will definitely take her class again.
I was really nervous at first before taking this class because it was online, 6 week course, & history, but nonetheless enjoyed it.I took this over summer & there were 2 discussion posts & 1 test by the end of the week. Professor gives you unlimited time on the tests & on top of that, at least 3 attempts before submitting your grade. I recommend!
I took her eight week history - 105 class online. She was very sweet and did not assign very much at all. We just had one discussion board (350 word essay plus 150 word response to a peer) and one test a week. It's obvious she cares about her students. Would highly recommend.
I thought this class would be good from all the reviews, and it was an easy A. But it was frustrating. The book (NSSP - self published?) was filled with mistakes, the final was filled with questions about things we hadn't even covered or studied; she seems like a nice lady but not a good teacher,so careless and unprepared. Big mess.
I found this class very boring. The text book was self-written and very hard to comprehend what was in it. You had quite a few chapters to read each week as well as 2-3 lengthy ( 45+ min) podcasts to listen to. Weekly discussions, you had a few topics to choose from. Minimum 350 words and 1 response min 150 words. Do the work and you'll be ok!
It was an easy 8 week online course but I wonder about the ethics of self-publishing a text-book, and then charging $50 for online access. By the end of the class I felt that I was just a way to generate money for the professor, because there was no real interaction or teaching going on apart from weekly update announcements .
I took her online history 100 and really did not mind it, and this is coming from someone who hates history. She was very, very sweet. Responded to e-mails fast! 4 tests, 1 final, and weekly discussions. The responses must be 250 words minimum, and a response to a peer 150 words minimum. But it is not hard.
Professor Feres is a Historian, she knows her stuff and knows Dark/Middle Ages very well. I enjoyed her class and would differently take another class.
This class would be hard to not pass. The grading is done by a weekly writing assignment, two responses to classmates, and about a quiz a week. There was one midterm and the final exam. I didn't read the textbook, but I did use it to find information for the weekly writing assignments and for answers for the quizzes. Easy content and easy workload.
Best online teacher/ class I have taken so far at Grossmont! very kind and responds to all questions. Gives a few extra credit options but not many. just do the work and you will pass. definitely recommend taking if you need a random class to fulfill your humanities slot for general ed for transfer . take this class! its fun and easy!
The class had 3 discussions, along with 2 tests and a final. The discussions were really easy, but just took a ton of time. On the other hand we have the tests. They were easy, if you have the textbook. I didnt really read, but you can find everything in there for the tests. It was an easy class.
I took Professor Feres online History 101 class. I absolutely loved it! I would totally take it again if I could. She gives clear and concise directions for each assignment. Keep up on your reading and you will do fantastic. I highly recommend taking her to all those wanting a history course!
Prof. Feres was really good and the class was easy but helpful. You learn about the history of different parts in the world.
Extremely sweet teacher, she makes it clear she cares for her students. The discussion for the material was interesting. There's a DB every week, where she interacts with and responds to students, as well as a weekly test.
This class was overall great. Get ready to read. Professor Feres is super kind, and a clear grader. Be sure to study all the test answers because they are the same on the final! She always gives feedback no matter what, and is a fast grader. Her class is also always super interesting! Would 100% recommend this class, and take it again.
Took the one-month history course. For someone who struggles in history, I found this class pleasant to take. There is a lot of reading (2-3 chapters a week), but the material is definitely easy to understand. She also replies to discussion posts and will give encouraging feedback. An amazing history professor and would recommend her to anyone!
Feres' 8 week History 105 class is honestly the easiest class ever. I did have to get the textbook because not all of the test questions are online, but for the discussions I used the websites she gave and looked for one quote in the textbook. One 350 word discussion, one 150 word response, and a test each week, super easy and fast!
This was my first time taking an online class in College. Even though I am kind of person who likes to attend the class rather than using computer but the way she provided help made it so easy and changed my perspective toward online class. Do the work which is required get easy A.
This was the easiest online class I have ever taken. I did not learn a whole lot though. There was a lot of homework in my opinion and it did take me quite a while to complete. The material is super easy though and the tests and not tricky. If you keep up with the homework you will get a good grade.
Easy A, but she is a terrible teacher. Made us pay 60 dollars for a self-published E book. It's full of errors. Teachers shouldn't make money from students. Tests were full of mistakes and repeated questions. Also felt insulted if you pointed out her mistakes. Don't get fooled by the ratings here, people who get easy A's don't care about quality.
The book was $60 to buy. Do yourself a favor, and spend the money on Course Hero instead. Almost every single answer is on there, and any other can be googled easily. Other than that, there was a bunch of pointless discussions that she had us do. Really only devoted 2 hours at most on this class every week, and even then, I didn't learn much.
Honestly I loved this professor she made the class really interesting.
Positively ridiculous grading rubric. 1) Test questions neither reflect the textbook reading, nor the lecture 2) Lecture was structured as though it were a conversation, often jumping around 3) Reduced points for grammar and spelling when the text is littered with errors. I found it very hard to respect this class or be inspired at all.
Ok, so this was an easy and interesting class. It can be a lot of work if you read everything and the lectures. She is very caring, and even online it really comes through. I would absolutely take her again, but she definitely keeps you busy.
Professor Feres is a great professor for intersession, provides pdf of the first 2 chapters for people who did not get the book yet. Provides Extra credit and hands down the best history professor I ever had, definitely take her.
I took Prof. Feres in the 4 week intersession. It is expected that a lot of material would be covered but she made everything easy to follow along with no pointless assignments. Her exams were not difficult and when I had a problem with accessing material, she was quick to fix it! Definitely take her class, she cares about her student's success.
This is an 8-week course. The topics of the weekly discussion boards are based on the readings. A textbook is required but rarely used; it should be available for free rather than the $50 required. There are quizzes and a final quiz but no required papers. The professor was great, and the course was well-structured.
Great professor
Honestly, this was the easiest class that I've ever taken! Please take her to make your college classes easier!
