I had her for my first semester and I've taken her for every semester since. She's the best. She more than a teacher. She's a hot friend! She makes it fun and interesting.She's not hard. It's harder to fail than to pass.

If you want to learn any of the speech disciplines this one’s the expert. She’s clear and concise and leaves no room for mystery. You will learn the subject thoroughly and enjoy yourself while you’re learning. Final projects are engaging as are the open discussions in her class. <3 Mrs.H-N made me look foward to her class every week. I was sad it only met on Thursdays! She uses lots of fun worksheets to prove points with her lectures. Lots of student involvement, I never got bored! She's a very animated teacher and easy to listen to, even for an hour straight. She tells lots of life stories as well, those are always fun.

I took her class on Saturday mornings. She is an excellent teacher! Very helpful and always listens to all her students. I learned a lot in her class.

I have to agree w/ the reviewers below. Professor Hoppe-Nagao is very sweet, but her tests are rediculous. I used the study guide she handed out and the test was not even similar. Big group project that I didnt have time for (cant believe this still exists in college, some of us work). Overall, you will need to put MAJOR time into this class.

Awesome teacher. Easy, makes the class fun. Got a B in her class. Ask any question you want and have fun with it. The last day me and a few classmates took her out for breakfast and we had a great time.

I had a lot of fun in this class! She gives a lot of in class group work, which I usually hate, but I actually enjoyed it in this class. The tests were a little hard, but that's because I didn't put a lot of effort in studying. If you're there every class, and put effort into the final speech you'll do fine. Don't hesitate to take this class!

i use to shake just @ d thot of giving a speech, after this class, no longer afraid to speak publicly..wow! can't believe what this class contributed to my life..she is very helpful and clear, read the chapters or at least browse them, review ur notes & participate in class, very easy to get an A in her class

Great professor. Very nice and patient and really has a passion for the subject. Got a B in the class with VERY minimal effort. I actually learned a few things to boot. Highly recommended. She is just a sweetheart.

Unbelievable one pf the best teachers/professor not only through my Jr. college career but out of my whole life of attending public school. Her approach starts with "hello everyone, guess what happened to me today?" She's casual, and a big laugh. She informs and gets us excited about the topic. She's great person. She laughs on her joke. She detests grading so to get a good grade, you must meet absolutely correctly on her requirement for essays, and research assignments. She's fun!

I'm taking her hybrid class for 1st 6 week summer 2009. At first I was dreading this class, but after the first meeting, I was already impressed with how friendly she is. This class is fun. I really enjoy it and am actually thinking about taking another speech course with Angela. Course work is pretty light. Just have to prepare for final speech.

Best Prof I have had in any class. Took Intercultural Comm as all online class, but she was so interactive and engaging I got more out of it than most on campus classes. Fun activities, interesting discussions, meaningful and useful information. Enjoyed her so much I took her for SPCH 100 Hybrid the following semester which was great too.

You NEED to keep up with reading the book and her reading on TalonNet. If you try to skip a chapter, you'll be lost. LOTS OF LOTS OF WRITING ASSIGNMENTS

Great class made all the better by a professor who is a head above her peers in instruction. She really grabs your attention and holds it while she works to enhance her students communication skills. One of the most enjoyable classes I've taken in a long time. She is also very easy on the eyes :)

She was a great teacher- got me to pick my major (speech) I took speech 100 as well as intercultural communication and LOVED it. I learned so much and if you do every assignment you will do fine! Use the vocabulary from the book also. :)

First of all, this professor is awesome in all respects. She is kind and devoted, and her class is always fun. In order to do well in this class (or to get an "A" rather than a "B") is by showing up everyday to class. Just because this class seems fun doesn't mean you'll get an A. You need to study for the tests as well because they're worth 100 pt

Took this class as a hybrid during the summer. You'll have 15 assignment, discussion participation, and book and lessons to read. It's a lot of paperwork, but very manageble. She provides study guides which are somewhat helpful. Professor Hoppe keeps the class fun and entertaining. She's got some good stories too.

Took this course during the summer as a hybrid class. I really liked the prof. at first, but found that when I went to her office she seemed to not want to bother with your questions. That lack of interest some what changed my perspective of her interest in my success of the class. Bubbly personality, but I don't think I'd call her fake.

Mrs. Nagao was an awesome teacher, she's really laid back and all you need to do is read the book and answer the questions, it is as simple as that. She sets up amazing study guides, and for the paper she laid out exactly what needs to be in each paragraph. Seriously, if you don't slack off you'll ace it

This was a busy class in the sense that there is like 6 speeches to be given. But she is a very great professor. Very energetic and caring about her students and how they perform. Be sure to put effort into writing/practicing your speeches. She cares about that. She kinda gets bummed out if you don't. If you're nervous, she will help you out! Good!

Her online class is very organized and you will learn a lot. shes very knowledgeable and will help if you need it. the only thing I regret is taking her online...I didn't get to see her a lot, shes Gorgeous!!! RECOMMEND

She is very helpful teacher. she knows her things and is very funny always starts class with a story and how she needs a new car. lol over a great class she makes the speech fun and grades easily, you just have to practice the speech on your own a couple of times. in total you have 2 speechs and one dabate, which are all pretty simple. take her!

Angela is an amazing professor. I took her for Speech 130 which is Public Speaking and really enjoyed the course not only are my speaking abilities at ease but. I really learned the good techniques about Public Speaking. She's great at what she does and is very helpful.

Amazing teacher.

The class I took was a hybrid, summer class. Went super fast, but was a lot of fun. Nagao is very well organized and obviously is a great communicator. She makes the class interesting and fun, but at the at the same time you learn a lot. As long as you keep up with the readings and assignments you should have no trouble passing. She just gets it.

This teacher is wonderful. I never liked the idea of taking a speech class but Ms. Hoppe changed my POV. I took a hybrid class for a 6 week session in summer and I loved it. She is very dedicated and cares about her students. If I had to take more speech classes, I would take them with her. Totally recomment her!

Mrs. Nagao was amazing. She made sure we understand the purpose of each assignment. She was very encouraging, informative and supportive of her students. She made Speech easy for those who have fear of public speaking. She taught Speech from her own personal experiences as a teacher rather than the book. Follow her guidelines and you will succeed.

She's a tough grader! You gotta make sure you do all her homework to get the points you need in class and she doesn't give out extra credits. She said we can use the older edition textbook for class but honestly, you really needed the new one because everything is out of place in the old one.

Professor Nagao is an excellent speech professor. She is very helpful and gives brilliant ideas before you plan your speech presentation, there are about 5 online quizzes each covering four chapters from the textbook, does activities to reduce your fear of public speaking, makes you dress up professional for two presentations.

Great Professor, she has a great lecture. If you miss a class, be sure to get them from another student. Never miss a group assignment, you can never make it up. Start working on your final presentation early. Good overall, she makes you work for it.

REMEMBER TO BOLD VOCABULARY WORDS IN ALL OF YOUR WORK!!!! She's a great professor, I wish I had known you were supposed to bold every vocabulary word or I could have gotten an A (was off by a little less than 2%). Tests and homework are easy. You can finish them within 15 minutes. Really basic stuff and I took the honors selection.

I took her hybrid class. If you are good studying on your own this is the class for you. Quizzes are simple but confusing some questions are on chapters that don't pertain to the quizzes. Her study guides are helpful so start early to pass the midterm and final. Be ready for individual and group project they're a must to pass the class.

Professor Hoppe-Nagao was an AMAZING teacher. This is a class you will need to pay attention in and participate, but she makes it easy to do so. So many group activities that you will all end up being friends. She truly cares about her students and informs us of great opportunities in campus!

I had taken her for the hybrid summer course and she was absolutely amazing. I honestly thought this was gonna be another mandatory useless class, but it really helped me in terms of giving speeches and presentations as well as day to day conversations. I feel people who are reclusive or with poor people skills to take this class. Very nice too!

She is a tough grader be sure to review the rubric before submitting assignments. She is a great instructor that teaches in a way that is easy to understand. Do not miss class because you will miss a lot. Stay on top of assignments. I took a summer hybrid honors class accidentally but I received an A.

Dr. Angela is an inspirational, fair, and compassionate professor who has clear standards but will work with you if you have an obstacle or emergency. The class is not difficult but has a reasonable amount of assignments. Her tests are straight forward. They come from her Online lectures and the textbook. In sum, she is AAAAAA+ Take her classes.

Professor Nagao really cares about her students. I took her online summer course and it was a good course. You do the work and you will pass. You do not have to attend the zoom meetings however they were very helpful. You do have to do some reading bc the quizzes are the chapter and the online module. Overall, I highly recommend taking this COMM!

Took her Intercultural 9 week online course and I don't have anything to complain about! There were no zooms to attend and she gives amazing feedback on assignments. As long as u do every assignment and BOLD your concepts, I don't see how u wouldn't get an A. Her 3 exams are based on textbook reading tho which can be a lot. Learned a lot from her!

16 modules, each module has a discussion and quiz. Easy A if you stay on top of your work. Shes usually on top of grading your work. I would recommend!

16 Modules: 16 discussion posts, 16 quizzes, 2 assignments, and 2 recorded videos (introduction and final) Not recommended for summer as the schedule is very compact. Topics and concepts were easy and interesting to read on. Great professor with clear grading criteria and accepts late work with a penalty.

Professor Angela Hoppe-Nagao was great! Answers emails, questions, posts grades quickly, gives great feedback and her grading criteria is clear. I loved her class and will take her again for comm 120. Anyone who takes her class will be find it resourceful for their major if you are majoring in communications.

I recommend you take this professor. She wasn't difficult, and the class was simple. I'm going to be honest, you don't even need the book to pass. Although when grading the posts, she requires you to add 2-course materials that we learned. It isn't that bad, though. The discussions we okay but some of them were enjoyable.

Very nice professor, willing to work with students should anything happen if you missed some things. Lessons were mostly easy, readings weren't that bad, she helped write the (free) textbook that is required for class. Worth taking it.

Dr. Angela is just absolutely wonderful. Her humility is truly admirable and I love how engaging she is; she leaves such sincere and thoughtful comments on your work. I read some comments mentioning that her grading is strict, but that will not be the case if you just follow her directions and demonstrate effort. Also, her class was genuinely fun.

I took her 9-week course, and it was pretty easy. Each week, you'll have to take an open book quiz, complete a short response assignment (about 2-4 questions long), and participate in a discussion board (sometimes you have to post a video response). She's super nice and provides amazing feedback on your work. I highly recommend taking her class!

This was a great class, especially for honors. I'd recommend this course to everyone, especially SHP students who need an honors course. Dr. Angela is very dedicated to the study of communication and gives amazing feedback. My only tip to get a good grade is to stay on top of the weekly assignments since there is a fair amount of reading.

Excellent Professor! The instructions are very straight forward but you must pay attention to receive full credit. She gave me great feedback that helped improve my study time. In addition, her assignments/ discussions helped open my mind to other concepts and ideas outside of my realm.

I took her for both COMM110 & 120, and it was one of my favorite courses to take at Cerritos! She is very kind and gives great feedback. I would definitely recommend taking one of her classes. It is very easy to follow the assignment guidelines, and expect frequent discussion posts with some video responses.

Outlines her guidelines very clearly from the start. Manageable coursework, which is a mix of written assignments, short quizzes, or discussion posts. Gives great feedback. Easy to get in contact with (email). The coursework material for both comm 110 and comm 120 are amazing for self development. Def recommend!
