She's very nice and very understanding but sort of confusing at times. For example she'll set a 2-page paper and give you several weeks to do it but then assign some overnight "easy" homework that ends up being far more work than the paper. WAHNSINN!

Good teacher; Prof. Jakeway has an enjoyable and interesting personality. The work load in the class was not too heavy. Just do the reading and homework questions, participate in class, and have good attendance and you will do well in class.

She is one of the best professors I've had. She very understanding of everyone, and will let the class do hw and tests whichever way he/she feels like. She's very easy to talk to and is a professor who enjoys what she does. She keeps interest in everyone and goes her way to help everyone pass.

I have been taking German since First Grade and after I graduated HS, I went to a college that didn't offer it. When I came to UNCC, I took her and she is a really good instructor. Her class may be a little boring if you're advanced in the language but she's very easy. She's not too demanding and she's helpful if you need her!

Best German professor at UNCC. Extremely laid back, and very personable. We often sat in the class and talked about stuff that wasn't related to the class. Easy A, but you learn a lot. She tries to relate a lot to students. TAKE HER

Took Frau Jakeway's 1101 class my first semester, loved her so much I took 1102 and 2202 with her as well! Tons of extra credit, she's willing to work with you if you come to class, pay attention and at least try. Class was always fun, lots of interaction and I learned a ton.

I had Frau Jakeway in GERM 1202 to fulfill the language requirement for my major. With her encouragement I realized I wanted to keep learning the language and become fluent. She is so sweet and really helps you out. She is one of those rare professors that REALLY cares about you as an individual. TAKE HER CLASSES! You will love her I promise!

Great teacher. Probably my favorite teacher I've had so far and definitely my favorite German professor. I learned a lot even though I've taken German since my freshman year of high school. I recommend her for anybody interested in German, whether you're a beginner or have taken German before.

Not only is Frau Jakeway the best Professor of German at UNCC, she's one of the best professors in the entire school. She's always so helpful and has a heart of gold. She really cares for her students. She's always willing to work with you to help you be successful. I wish she taught every German class! Take her classes, you won't be disappointed!

I am a psychology major. We have to have a years worth of language to get our degree. Not only did Frau Jakeway make me appreciate German but she even convinced me to add German as a double major and I hope to travel to Germany next summer. PLEASE TAKE FRAU JAKEWAY!

Frau Jakeway is seriously a great, energetic teacher, who is passionate about helping her students. Will work with you in any way possible to get a high grade in her class if you just show you are willing to work. Convinced me to take german as my second major. Really fun teacher and class.

This teacher is insanely passionate about her department. She's easy to pay attention to due to enthusiasm. Gives out LOTS of extra credit. Cares more about you enjoying the subject than strict grading. Very understanding, and has a collective teaching style when it comes to language courses. Take her business course if you can.

Frau Jakeway is the best language professor I have ever had (previously had taken French - not a good experience). Perhaps, even the best professor I have had since I transferred to UNCC. She is a wonderful, kind woman who looks out for you and who will do anything possible to help you success in her class. Exams are simple as long as you study.

This is a professor that above all cares about how much you have learned. She has detailed cultural knowledge that cannot be found in any textbook. Her class is not easy but all students that work hard earn a grade reflecting their effort. She knows every single one of her students and remembers them after they have completed her courses. 10/10

Frau Jakeway is absolutely the best professor I have had the pleasure of taking a course with. She is focused on making sure that you learn the material. She isn't a professor that is here to just take some grades and collect a paycheck. She is here for the students and you will definitely not regret taking a class with her.

I loved taking Professor Jakeway's class. Honestly one of my favorite professors I've had at UNCC. She truly wants everyone to do well. She is very accessible outside of class and very accommodating. I can't recommend this class enough. I took this class bc I needed a writing intensive course and I do not regret it one bit.

I love this class, I took her summer class online and it was easy. Things move quickly but there aren't that many assignments per week. We had 3 PowerPoints that required 20-25 slides, it sounds easy, but sometimes finding enough material for the slides can be a bit difficult. It was online so no teaching but pretty easy to figure out yourself.

Loved this class, was a genuinely helpful course outside of the classroom. Prof. Jakeway is incredibly nice and the classwork was both interesting and not ridiculous. One of the first classes I liked so much I decided to leave a review haha. Strongly recommend, especially for summer courses!

I had Jakeway for GERM 3680, 3690, and 4661 this semester. She is super fun, knows a lot, and a fair grader. There are final powerpoint projects for each class, which can be hard to find info for but overall are easy. Her in person classes do require attendance. If you need a language course she is one of the best German professors we have at UNCC.

Professor Jakeway is my favorite professor. I've taken many courses with her and she allows you to decide to take a class online or in person depending on your schedule needs. She requires attendance in person but most of your grade is from showing up. Online is a bit more difficult but the assignments are clear.

Can leave class when done with work. 1 weekly group assignment done in class. no homework or readings. no test or final. Final is group presentation that you work on throughout the semester. flexible with attendance but fun to show up. Easy 100!!
