This class amazing. Angela knows how to keep you interested or at least I was. I have never taken a class that actually had a very informative book. The overall class was great. I enjoyed Angela and her wit. Definitely makes this class fun and informative at the same time. You will definitely learn a lot.

Responsive to student feedback and creative in designing a class around the students. Great personal stories, too. A real find!

Angela is a smart, funny, empathetic, & helpful teacher. She makes the class fun & engaging by teaching through film, group discussions, & yes, singing. Her class consists of 2 papers, an essay mid-term, and a capstone final. My only complaint is she takes too long to return papers & tests; sometimes 3-4 weeks. Overall though, a good teacher.

After reading everyones comments I was excited to take the class. Wrong. The course itself is interesting, although selection of the subject matter is quite predictable. This was an online class and a very bad experience unfortunately. The instructor is very nice and intelligent, however. The problem was with the assignments. They are unclear and out of a text book that is pretty much useless. The assignments appear to be questions of opinions but they are not. If you don't answer carefully, you WILL lose points.:(

I am really surprised at all the good ratings here. This course was a complete waste of time. It was an easy grade, but I learned NOTHING. There may be a diff in quality between her online and onsite class. I took her online and felt she was not present. Angela really encourages critical thinking. Class discussions are essential. She ties in stories about her life and encourages you to bring your life to class and tie in with the material. This is my second class with her and I'd take her again, she's rad.

Lohr did not seem entirely devoted to teaching this class. She'd post assignments late but never extend due dates, so we were often crunched for time. She gave NO feedback all quarter, and so I'm not sure why I would lose points on certain things. She uses outdated lectures too, and is rude to students. Too much busy work. Wouldn't recommend.

Despite having a zero tolerance policy for late work, forgets to post the work for online classes for weeks at a time. Syllabus says grade will be out of 520 pts. really is out of 420 pts.

This is the second class I've taken with "ProfessLohr". She is amazing. She's very laid back, and is more interested in how the students have matured, progressed and learned throughout the course. Not just their recall on specific names, dates and events. Her lectures are great, engaging and meaningful. Show up and pass. A++++++

I took an online class from her last spring, the same class as some commenters before me. It is true she forgot to open homework assignments and didn't give us extra time to complete them. the class was a lot of reading a giant textbook with tiny letters. Grading criteria was difficult to follow as well. Saddly, class was not very fun.

Got and A, but this was easily the worst online class I've taken. She gave no feedback on any of the assignments, including the midterm and final projects, and some weeks forgot to post the module. Going into the final week, there was nothing to assess how well you're doing in the class, because nothing was graded, even after stating she would.

This was the worst class I've ever taken. She assigns a lot of homework but then doesn't grade it. She hadn't graded anything by the midterm and didn't even have the first assignment or the midterm graded by the final. Don't expect any worthwhile feedback. This professor doesn't care about your education or her job.

Professor Lohr was absolutely AMAZING. Every students dream chill college professor package! Just keep on top of attendance, mostly everything else can get into her by end of term for full credit. She does go off on tangents sometimes, but the bulk of the info you need is still covered and her D2L page modules with assignments / readings is clear

Leaves comments like "fantastic" and wonderful work be then proceeds to give you a B-. On my friends work she leaves comments like "nice work" and they get 100% on their work. She won't reply to emails asking her why she gave you that grade on your projects or what mistakes were made. I wouldn't say she's a tough grader but a bad one instead...

This prof is very nice, the work load is not much. All you mostly do is read articles and have discussions with classmates, occasionally you'll write a one page paper about what you think about the readings. I took this course online, it was easy, takes me one day to complete the work. If you are stuck email her she emails back fast.

Professor Lohr is such a good humanities teacher. You can tell she cares about her students and what she's teaching. I really recommend taking her class, I learned so much and enjoyed it. You watch a lot of ted talks and lectures but its a light work load and easy A as long as you stay on top of the assignments.

Mediocre teacher. It was an online class. You basically didn't know she was even there. Incredibly slow grader. It's nice you don't need a textbook. Plenty of links, TED talks. Weekly discussion posts are required. Incredibly easy class with the easiest A if you do the homework and take the weekly quiz.

ProfessLohr was a more engaged at the beginning of the term and graded things with nice feedback. As the term went on she barely graded anything and when she did it was very vague and didn't give any feedback. Lots of boring reading but the videos were nice! Work was given on Tues and due on like Mondays. It was a bit weird and never consistent.
