I took the class online but the professor wouldn't provide enough sources to study. She is not very caring for the students, but she will do meetings with you to explain the content if needed, but besides that, it's only you and the textbook. And It's 1HM, 1 chapter exam, and one lab per week.
She just not do lectures. Many chapters have been graded without she even mentioning the content of the chapter. She just left homework due to some day and she just do not care if she lectures it or not. She just care about labs in person and her feedback is as unclear as her few lectures. Something else, is really disorganized.
She does a lot of grading by homework, which I disagree with because I believe homework is a chance to practice and you shouldnt be so heavily penalized on homework to the point where it effects your grade a lot.I would do 6-9 hours of homework every week because she requires thorough answers to every homework question which sometimes had parts A-P
I enjoy her class and her style of teaching and will be taking her next semester. The homework and exams take a long time do do, but they're helpful in retaining the information. A lot of these reviews are missing the point. This is a physics class. The only way to get good at it and the classes that we'll need to take later on is by practicing.
Prof Lowman is average IMO, homework took about 10-15hrs/week. Exams were just pictures of HW work with a video explanation of 1 problem. Make sure your HW work is neat bc she will say something if it's not. She is super willing to help but is a pretty harsh grader, especially with labs and exams advice: make a class chat and explain everything.
good professor for tough class like physic
She is always aware of her students and is always available to have Zoom meetings with her to ask any questions or concerns on the subject. Each week she does Zoom meetings where she explains the theme of the week. She sends a lot of homework for the week but most of it is easy to solve.
She is very responsive via email. Her lecture videos are not the best, so be prepared to find some videos of your own. Her homework assignments are long, but her "exams" are easy. Her labs are definitely reasonable. If you have any questions she will gladly meet with you via Zoom. I would definitely take her if you can!
Professor Lowman is very clear about the assignments at the beginning of the semester. If it's not your style you will know from week one because it is very consistent with the rest of the semester. There is a project for the final and the assignments are one homework, one exam a week, and labs. I would recommend this course!
Professor Lowman is the best! Her class has a "portfolio" setup meaning no timed/stress-inducing/classic exams. Weekly exams are simply your completed and thorough homework solutions. Weekly labs are great and easy to navigate online. She cares about her student's success. If you have the opportunity, take her!
I took her Mixed Mode course and I thought the grade structure of the course was very good because there was no midterm or final exam in the course. In return, the usual homework is very heavy and quite challenging. Overall, She shows how to make sure students are really learning and balancing the course perfectly without having to take a test.
The Professor was great. There is a LOT of work to do between HW, Exams and Labs but she is very kind and understanding about everything. If you are struggling, all you need to do is talk to her about it and she will give you alternatives.
They were generally fine but getting feedback on what you're doing wrong could be a little difficult at times since they or the school's online tutors weren't always there.
They were generally fine, but getting feedback on what you're doing wrong could be a little difficult at times since they or the school's online tutors weren't always there.
Really great professor. Loved this class. Weekly homework and exams, which are online submissions of full homework work and explanations. Video component where you complete and go over one of the usually randomly selected homework problems corresponded with most of the exams. Online labs most weeks also. Makes herself very available to help.
Great teacher and a fun class, I would strongly recommend her to others
Overall Professor Lowman's class is pretty good, she has lots of tests and homework, as well as a final project that will test your engineering skills. if you wanna pass the class here is what to look out for. Do all homework, Tests are showing explanations to homework, and the final project consists of making a Rube Goldberg, partner with somebody
Professor Lowman is a great professor, the type that can provide all types of resources when you take initiative. The class is naturally hard so everything is setup for you to learn the content and self study or else you will not pass the class just make sure to study, do your work on time and plan ahead.
I recommend this course because it is very organized and has a good schedule everything is due on the same day of the week. The subject and information are different but the due days are the same. The professor gives you many chances to speak with her if you need to talk with her about anything that's going on in the course.
If you put in the effort you will get an A in the class. She also drops the lowest grade in each category such as hw, lab, etc. She is also very responsive to emails so if you ever have any questions she's there to help.
This professor is always ready to help through Zoom. As long as you do the assignments, you will get a good grade. You have to put the time and effort into the class though. If you do that, you will be fine. I definitely recommend the professor!
You will not actually learn physics, but probably get an easy B or C. There are no tests. There is no midterm and no final. She is unprofessional. She is always late to grading assignments. There are no rubrics so you dont know what you did wrong or how the grading is even conducted. There is no way to learn from your mistakes.
Overall good professor. Take in consideration physics is not an easy subject. If you don't have a strong background in physics and you are not obligated to take in the summer, please do yourself the favor and take it in another term. Also, professor relies on you reading the whole book, which can be difficult for many like me, but you can do it.
I took this as an online Summer B course with Professor Lowman and was pleased with how the semester went. The Exams are based entirely off the homework, mostly just showing your work for each problem. There were a lot of problems so showing the work wasn't necessarily a walk in the park but I was able to really learn physics! 10/10 experience.
Professor Lowman gives, above all, good feedback which has been extremely helpful during this semester. Forget about the difficulty and forget about the workload of the course. It is worse to have a professor who is not interested in looking at assignments and taking the time to actually read them. Pick her, especially for a short semester.
As long as you read the textbook, complete the hw, and attend the labs this class is doable. The hw takes a few hours and the tests include showing your work for all of the hw questions including a video presentation. Professor Lowman wants to help you succeed and is always willing to meet via zoom if you have any questions.
This class definitely requires a lot of work and time, as I took it as a summer mini. It is manageable and really helped my understanding of physics. I thought I was going struggle with this class but Professor Lowman is willing to help as much as she can. She is also quick to responds to emails and really cares about her students.
Self taught course via textbook. HW takes many hours, do not fall behind. 8 hw question with parts A-Q (70 question). The exams are proof of HW worked out and video of solving 1 HW question explaining it while you solve. She can be slow on grading so you are never sure of your grade. Lowest HW/EXAM/LAB is dropped. Easy course, lots of assignments.
Class is very well organized, and the grading criteria are clear. The professor will take time out of their day to help you improve and give feedback. Overall a very engaging course with a heavy workload especially if taken in a 8-week. Final project is very fun and engaging and is something to look forward to in the course. Recommend in a 16 week.
Grading criteria is very clear, as are deadlines. The workload is pretty high but that's likely because I'm taking this course as an 8-week over the summer. So long as you complete the homework, the exams should be simple. The professor is exceedingly responsive to emails and is always willing to zoom call to answer any questions. Would recommend.
Amazing Professor. Has humor to go along with their easy-to-understand teaching for a difficult topic. Homework, Exams, and Labs are assigned each week. Hw can easily overload so stay on top of that. Exams are picking a question from the hw and explaining the work you did for it. Labs are done and due the same day you go in for class each week.
Excellent professor who obviously cares about her students. She would always respond quickly to my emails and give clear and concise grading feedback so you could adjust accordingly for the next assignments. Don't be fooled into thinking this is gonna be a walk in the park however, physics is still a tough subject
You can get an easy A, but you probably will not learn physics well. The textbook is awful and there is no grading criteria whatsoever. She can give you any grade she wants on any test or project. There are no clear instructions or guidelines on what constitutes an A, B, C or etc.
The textbook and online platform are awful. Needlessly confusing. Tedious. And the hw assignments do not line up with the textbook. Highly recommend you take this course at another university if you really want to learn and love physics.
Prof. Lowman seemed like a great Professor that cares for her students and was ready to meet online whenever my schedule allowed for a meeting. I feel some assignments could use somewhat better wording on how to best complete them. Otherwise, a nice teacher that clearly explains what is needed and meets when needed.
This lady is super nice and funny. The labs are so much fun and enjoyable. The textbook and online homework are poorly designed and implemented, which is a Pearson issue, and not the fault of the professor. You will need to find outside resources in order to understand the material. The homework can be very difficult.
HW took 20 hours a week to do. It was overkill, she also graded too harshly for the final project.
Hybrid class. No tests. Lots and long of Pearson Homework. Final Exam is a project of 10 physical components. Labs are easy.
Professor Lowman makes you earn experience designing a project yourself, which is for many students, the first time they have ever designed something so complex. It is a very rewarding experience, and fits in nicely with the course content, which overall is not so bad, but is simply demanding in terms of time-contribution.
Prof. Lowman is awesome at teaching this course, she really cares for her students and wants us to learn. I would definitely recommend this course to others, as I am also going to take her for Physic two. Also, be ready to read but hey that's how you learn. Also, the class structure online is perfect for people who have a busy schedule.
She has an interesting way of structuring her online class. She has homework that does take some time to complete each week which can be prepared for by reading the textbook. And the only other work in a week is a lab (which is interactive) and an exam (written work of the previously completed homework and a video of 1 problem). Would take again.
Professor Lowman has a straightforward course. Very organized and easy to learn from! This course was way better than I expected considering it is a difficult physics course. She is highly responsive and helps with any problem very fast. Overall I 10/0 recommend taking her course.
I loved it so much in Physics One that I also did Physics 2 with her. This is the weekly schedule: Read chapter. Virtual Lab. Online homework. Scan and upload a worksheet of how you solved each question. Record yourself solving one of the questions. That is it. There are no exams or quizzes. Easy to learn and easy to get excellent grades.
Great Professor that really cares about her student's success. Dr Lowman is a great professor and an amazing caring human-being! I will be taking her for PHY II as well. Take her if you can!
Professor is easy to communicate with, available for questions. Different from other courses in regards not lecturing, but always available for clarification. She wants you to succeed.
Professor Lowman is one of the best professor Valencia has to offer. She really cares for her students and wants everyone to succeed. She is always available if we need any help and she is very friendly. She responds quickly to email. I will be taking her for Physics 2. No written exam or quiz. Excellent Professor.
Prof Lowman is super nice and very attentive to your needs as a student. This course is difficult so you need a lot of time to study and do the hw.
The textbook is hard to understand. The homework can take a long time to do. The labs are always super fun (if you form a good group). The professor is very kind and super smart. She really cared about me and taught me that when life gets hard and everything may seem bad, all you got to do is take your dark glasses off ;-). I will miss her.
This professor was amazing because she allowed us to decide when to do our hw and exams. However, I recommend you do 1 hw assignment and 1 exam per week. Otherwise, the workload will become a lot at the end. For her exams, she has you record yourself doing the 1 pg. of the online hw. The hw was due at the end of Nov. 28th, and the Exams Nov.30th.
An overall good professor who really cares about her students. But extremely work heavy
Great professor, there's lots of homework, but the exams are just explaining your work for the homework. I've found that doing exams in this way helps me better understand the material rather than cramming formulas for an exam. Always accessible and caring in communications. Don't fall behind though, the work isn't hard but it is time consuming.
Take her class if you are willing to teach yourself from the book and put the time and effort into the homework and labs. For exams, you record yourself doing a section of the homework. Final is a project. She is helpful, responds quickly, and will meet in Zoom if needed. Grading is fair. I'm looking forward to taking her class again next semester.
Each week you are required to submit three assignments: Homework, chapter exam, and lab report. Be sure to set aside time for the homework. Exam's require you to submit a video completing 1 question from the homework. The final is a project that is a culmination of physics principles taught in Physics 1+2. Challenging course, but definitely doable!
Professor Lowman is not only a great professor but an amazing person. A lot of time must go into this class to be successful. The homeworks are long but if you break it up through your week it's not bad. The exams are great. The final project is a little involved but overall, she teaches a great class. I wouldn't take physics with anyone else!
Professor Lowman is very clear about the assignments. At the beginning of the semester, it was consistent assignments, which changed to do at your own pace with a due date towards the end of the semester. There is a project for the final and the assignments are one homework, one exam a week, and labs. I would recommend this course!
Professor Lowman is very caring and wants the best for her students. She is extremely nice and I would highly recommend taking her class. She is extremely responsive and I am glad I took her course.
Despite the weekly homeworks, exams, and labs, this teacher has done an amazing job scheduling assignments based on student feedback and is always available to help you.
I would say is my favorite professor currently, the only thing i would recommend PAY ATTENTION when she explain or u are going to be the whole class trying to finish the labs
I would say is my favorite professor currently, the only thing I would recommend PAY ATTENTION when she explains or u are going to be the whole class trying to finish the labs.
Overall, this professor has been great. The only main problem was the length of the homework. On average, there are 6-8 question for each assignment but there are many parts for each question. One assignment I counted 54 questions/parts. With that being said, this professor is very helpful and has a ton of office hours.
Professor Lowman was a great online instructor. Being online meant a lot of homework and exams, but I learned so much more about the physics world after taking this course. I would take her class again even in a classroom setting. She's very often available out if class and responds to emails quickly. She also knows the course material well.
Dr Lowman has a different way of teaching physics than most professors I have had. Instead of giving you 3 hour long one-sit exams, she has us making videos explaining questions from the homework so we can demonstrate our understanding of physics, and that is one of the things I enjoyed about her class the most. She is also super accessible.
Professor Lowman consistently made herself available to students by giving a wide range of times she was available via video conferences. She also provides links to additional resources covering hw topics! She provides specific instructions for all assignments, which was very helpful. I committed about 15 - 20 hours each week for assignments.
Ms Angela was really helpful is 3 assignments per week but she is always available and give you really good feedback, explain you everything. Like I said 3 assignments per week may sounds a lot but also she is really nice and explain you and help you if you need it. the homework and labs are not hard.
Professor Lowman was a really kind and caring person. I think the content is a bit hard but she makes it a little easier by providing help outside of class. The way this class is set up is a bit different than a traditional classroom. We complete homework then present a problem over video which would be graded as our test. It helps connect concepts
Good professor for online class, is hard class but she doesn't require too many homework.
If physics is hard for you then take this professor. This is the easiest way for you to pass physics. The homework can be brutal but the exams and labs are super easy.
You will not actually learn Physics, but you can pass easily.
PHY-2049C is a tough course, but with that being said, taking PHY-2049C with this professor will ensure that you learn all of the material. The weekly workload is not light but is tolerable. Overall, the pacing for the course is great, you'll learn a lot, the professor is super knowledgeable and kind, and it's easy to reach out to the professor.
SHe is such a good professor, all the assignments were due at the end of the semester, you are the one that has to be responsible to not procrastinate
Professor Lowman is a great professor if you have the time to spend on the work and fully understand the course material. There are no exams in this class, all the work is based off of the homework you complete and videos of you completing one problem of the homework. You also have a project that is due throughout the semester.
She is a really gre
She is a really great professor. Best professor I had so far for physics. She makes the class easy. The exams are based on the homework. She is always available to answer any questions you have. Take her if you have the chance! No regrets!
I liked the structure of this course, everything that was required is clearly communicated. Assignments' were graded fairly, in which she would provide feedback. For an online course I liked that there wasn't any exams I stressed for. It's a lot of as of assignments but it makes up for no big exams. You really choose your grade here.
Lots of homework but easy to get through, and the exams as well. Fun projects and labs.
Professor Lowman is the best physics professor, I performed better in Physics II than Physics I. Professor Lowman does require her students put in the work to succeed. If you do that, you will have a better understanding of physics and you will leave knowing you have the tools to succeed in your respective degree.
DO HOMEWORKS and you will pass. Labs are mandatory so attend always, No exams Just video of you explaining homework
Professor Lowman is the best physics professor. She is extremely smart. Professor Lowman is very kind, caring and understanding. She is ALWAYS available to meet with me whenever I needed help. She really cares about her students. She is flexible with due dates and will work with you in case of emergency and cannot meet the deadline. 100% best class
She is good, the labs are engaging and interesting to do, there is a lot of homework, but as long as you keep up its not that bad.
No lectures, but all material needed for "exams" is straightforward in the textbook. Lenient grading on everything submitted and very available through zoom for help. "Exams" may be tedious for those who don't like showing work, and so are labs.
Good professor
Great course! This course was a self taught course using textbook and homework. The exams were work from homework and recording yourself doing one question from homework. One homework, exam, and lab due per week. Professor is available for questions through zoom.
Great professor. Available via Zoom for questions. 1 homework assignment on Pearson, 1 lab and 1 Test weekly. Rube Goldberg is the final. Fun project . Highly recommend taking this Professor she makes learning fun.
The homework takes a long time to do. A lot of the homework questions consist of a lot of parts. One homework, one exam, and one lab per week. The exams are simply recording a video of a homework question. She is understanding and easy to access. In some parts, I feel that I didn't really learn the chapters. Building a Rube Goldberg machine is last
Best physics class you'll ever take. The professor makes the material feel easy to learn. If you keep up with the material, then you should just coast through the course.
Professor Lowman is the right teacher for physics her homework is not too hard just the right difficulty and her tests are structured in a way where you have to know the material in order to pass highly recommended her and also she is very accessible outside of class and very caring.
The professor was really helpful, gave excellent feedback on everything, was ready to help, and had a had a Zoom meeting to help you. I would recommend taking this course with this professor.
Extremely patient professor with a kind and energetic spirit, regardless of how many classes she's teaching and grading simultaneously. Extremely helpful regarding feedback and caring that you understand Physics, rather than just memorize the formulas.
Mixed mode class, you meet in person once for labs each week. 3 assignments due every week, 3 homework questions with multiple parts, a lab, and then an exam where you record yourself going through each part of one of the homework problems. There is a final project that you begin working on relatively early on through the semester.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend this class to people who need to learn physics. Professor Lowman is a very lenient grader so as long as you get work submitted on time, you should get a good grade. She is very nice and accessible outside of class, and the labs were engaging, but I didn't end up getting a very good grasp of the course content.
She is an amazing professor and I hope I can take her for physics 2!
She is an amazing professor!! I would recommend taking this course with this professor.
Nice and respectful professor. There is a hw assignment and lab due each week. Nothing too difficult except the homework can be quite time consuming. No exams but there is a cool project due at the end.
Professor Lowman was amazing to work with and have as a resource. Weekly labs with homework problems and each exam has you record a video going over personal mastery of a chosen homework problem.
Professor Lowman is a very knowledgeable and amazing professor. The way the class is structured is perfect for students who truly want to learn the material. Weekly physics chapters are covered in the course. An online homework assignment, a video exam based on one of the three homework problems, and a virtual lab are included every week.
Nothing super crazy in terms of workload; 1 homework assignment and 1 lab due each week, the latter requiring mandatory attendance. It may be a bit time-consuming to complete the homework, and you'll need to read the textbook. There is no final exam, but rather a project (which I enjoyed).
1 Homework assignment and 1 lab due at the end of each week, with a video submission required for 1 problem on each HW instead of exams. The final exam is instead a project, which is pretty fun.
Mrs. Lowman is one of the best professors I have ever had. She genuinely cares about her students understanding the content and is always accessible on zoom to help with the content. The structure of the class is very straight forward as well. Tips: Respect and understand the textbook. Don't just Chegg everything. It's an excellent resource.

I took an online course where the professor provides ample time to complete assignments. However, you have to keep up with all the tasks to avoid falling behind. The exams in my class required explaining the approach to homework. TLDR: The homework is long, straightforward labs, and exams focused on explaining homework solutions.
Professor Lowman is caring, strict, and professional person. Try to stay on top of things and you'll be fine. There is a final project, that is fairly challenging. helps you when needed.
Prof.Lowman is very good at teaching physics 2. Taking this class online was a perfect for my out of school schedule therefore if your busy I recommend you take her class online. She's a great professor and is always ready to help you when needed. The class isn't too hard if you know your math and read the text book. Great class!!
Prof. Lowman was a great teacher! The grades are divided in weekly online homeworks, exams, and a lab. She excuses the lowest graded of each, and attendance for the labs is mandatory for credit. You teach yourself most of the material using the textbooks and her videos, but if you can keep up with weekly work you can easily pass with an A.
She is a very nice lady and will go out of her way to help you in anyway possible. There is a lot of work to complete in this class, but that should be expected given the level. I actually took her for Physics 1 (2048C) and liked her style so much, that I signed up for her again to take this course. Do yourself a favor and take her class.
Professor Lowman was amazing. She's very knowledgable, kind, and helpful. She will help you if you're ever struggling and gives very clear feedback and instructions. The homework is structured into 3 multiple-part problems and she does not have strict deadlines which gives you plenty of time to complete all of the work.
Great professor! Super knowledgeable and kind, and it's super easy to reach out to her. She has plenty of office hours over Zoom and is also responsive to emails. With that being said THIS IS A TOUGH COURSE. You will have to dedicate quite a bit of time every week, but you will learn the material and the work is not excessive.
Good class with a very nice professor. No lecture videos; you are expected to learn from the book. Homework is often challenging. Professor is responsive and always willing to help over Zoom. Video presentations weekly for exams and semester-long project for final. Recommended if you can self-teach from online resources.
She is a very tough grader and isn't clear about her course material. If you were expecting a class where you wouldn't have a lot of work this isn't the class to choose. Most of these positive messages are from her extra credit responses and are not accurate of how the class truly is. Overall, I do not recommend this teacher for your physics class.
Not a professor I recommend to students for physics, she takes her time to grade large amounts of work and is very workload heavy. Its a self teaching course and she doesn't spend time actually running the topic through with you so unless you have a passion for the subject I would not have her as your first choice.
This was by far the worst teacher I've ever had! I highly recommend you don't take her class. She is way to overly critical, she isn't in the business of educating but simply enforcing. She gives way to many exams, she doesn't allow for in-depth understanding of material. Save yourself a lot of time and headaches.. DON'T TAKE HER CLASS!
Professor Lowman is a knowledgeable and caring instructor. The class structure is straightforward, with weekly homework and labs. Textbook is essential, so don't just rely on Chegg. Unstuck AI proved helpful for exam prep alongside traditional resources.
The professor is easy to get ahold of, puts a lot of effort into teaching and the textbook was good. You get an exam for each chapter and in it you are required to show how you solve homework problems. Due to the structure of the class, it is not difficult to get a good grade as long as you turn things in on time and follow directions.
Excellent experience with a different examination style. Lots of assignments gives the student more than enough opportunity to miss one or two assignments, if life should happen that way, and still complete the course with a respectable grade. Highly recommend the experience as her style is one of a kind and could serve useful in future endeavors.
Physics is inherently a difficult course. This professor makes learning easy. Warning she has a very hefty workload. There's a lab, hw, and exam every week. The exam takes a long time to do and you have to film yourself solving a problem from scratch, but it is very easy to get an A in this course if you do the work.
Professor is easily accessible and always has time to respond and meet. If you have the intuition to write out math problems you will be fine, this should just not be where you learn to do it because it will take too much of your time. This is what your exam grade is based on. Layout is extremely clear and just repeats every week.
Professor Lowman has a very well thought out structure because the initial material that you learn when reading the textbook gets transferred into the homework, then into the lab, then the exams. So, you really grasp the concepts. The expectations are clear, and canvas is a reflection of how you're doing so you can maintain the grade you want.

So, you really grasp the concepts. Also, Canvas is a reflection of how you're doing in the course so it's easy to maintain the grade you want.
Very strict on deadlines and grading criteria. Scheduling meetings via zoom when you need help is good. Take your assignments seriously. If you're taking her class online be sure to send her exam's video components as YouTube links. No finals or midterms when I took her phys2 class which was really cool. lowest exam, hw, and lab got dropped for us.
The professor seems very caring and holds a good amount of office hours for you to get a hold of her (Online course). There is assignments every week and this course is very textbook heavy but its nice since you can do that on your own time. Love this course and would take this professor again.
Physics is hard in general but with Professor Lowman teaching style you will definitely not just learn the material but understand it enough to even explain to others. This class is far from "easy". You have to be organized and ready to put in the work. Stay on top of your assignments you will do good. I highly recommend this professor.
The course structure is very organized. Just be prepared to do a lot of self-teaching through videos and the textbook.
If you want to pass and have fun. Take this class
I took her class online. Very manageable, and very understanding.
Professor Lowman is very practical and very accessible if you need help. The class requires a lot of work every week because each week you basically have a mini exam/presentation you have to give. Sometimes the grading criteria is not the most clear but if you are not sure just ask her. Great class overall!
I would highly recommend taking Physics 2049C with Professor Angela Lowman. She is not only deeply knowledgeable but also genuinely cares about her students' success. Her class is not very hard but it is time consuming.
horrible textbook (young freedman, yeah, that one). unrealistic pacing. assignments are massive time and resource sinks. homework takes forever and it's masteringphysics. she has a considerate lowest score dropping policy but the coursework makes you cram, not learn, so i'm not sure i'd recommend even as an experience. grading also makes no sense.
This professor is easygoing, and the homework is equivalent to the examples in the textbook. Strongly recommend.
Amazing teacher overall great choices of how the work is done, even if the course is a little cram it is almost impossible not to pass the class. Teacher actually cares for what she is teaching and very helpful. Definitely would pick her for PHY 2049C and I highly recommend this professor.
The professor is amazing and cares about her students. The class includes 13 homework assignments, 13 weekly video exams solving problems step-by-step, and 4 physics demos explaining concepts. The workload is heavy, but if you put in the effort, it's easy to pass with a high grade. Highly recommend her for PHY 2049C!
The class is well-structured, and she's always patient and approachable for questions. Highly recommend her for anyone wanting to truly understand physics
Professor Lowman does an excellent job teaching the material and assisting students when necessary. She is also extremely responsive outside of class!
Even though this was an online class, the professor was easily accessible if I needed any help. The assignments are clear and consistent and when putting enough time into completing them, getting high grades is very possible.
The professor has weekly lectures, assignments, tests, and labs. The tests consists of video explanations of the homework assignments and work. Some weeks there might be demonstration projects instead of labs. I thoroughly enjoyed the class and believe I learned a lot from it.
The course is challenging no matter the professor. However she balances the course work very well. You trade hard exams for uploading your work for all HW and do a video going through them. The demonstration assignments (4 of them) are pretty easy to do and very fun. The textbook used is really helpful too, widely used and known.
good course, just put in the work and you will pass.
Great physics professor. Classwork load can get heavy at times but do the work and you will be just fine. No late work!
The best Physics professor at valencia college do yourself a favor and take her.The grading is very clear.
Professor Lowman truly cares about their students and their understanding, grading criteria was very clear and if you have any questions she will be available to hop on a zoom call with you to get it clear. Lectures made the course easier as she has a very clear way to explaining things. Very recommended!
I took this class as a 10 week mixed mode course. I loved it! The pacing was not too intense, and the labs were enjoyable. If you are someone who participates and completes all of your assignments, you will absolutely get an A. That being said, if you are not participating in the labs she is not afraid to call you out!
Attendance is mandatory for labs. There is no final exam or midterm, but there is a lot of homework. She doesn't accept late work, so do everything a couple of days before the due dates. She is funny and makes sure that you're collaborating in class.
This professor is extremely responsive which is very awesome from a professor's part. Through this class you'll experience team collaboration in labs which is amazing. It's very important to stay on top of attendance but the professor makes it very easy to look forward for the class sessions
This professor is extremely responsive which is awesome for a professor. She gives good feedback and is a great lecturer. You have to stay on top of attendance to succeed in this class, but she makes it very easy to look forward on the sessions.
Great professor definitely recommend she knows what she's doing in physics but expect to do homework and test every week from the homework no midterm and no final!
miss angela lowman formula to teach was really good for me, the class consists in 1-2 labs each week, with 4 homework and 1 final exam that consists in present trough video a explanation of the homewor, if you work, and follow the steps you will pass the class.
The best professor in phy 1, I will take phy two next semester.
Apart from having slightly more than usual amount of homework, I really enjoyed this class. It was fun and useful completing Labs and listening to lectures in the class. Exceptionally knowledgeable Professor with a classroom set up very professionally.
Professor Angela Lowman is an outstanding Physics 1 instructor. Her clear, engaging lectures make complex concepts easy to understand. She fosters an interactive classroom and is always approachable, offering helpful feedback and support. Her passion for the subject and dedication to student success make her highly recommendable.
Overall, this course very fair. However, there is a large amount of work per week that will sneak up on you if you're not on top of things, and no late work taken. The professor is very knowledgeable and passionate about the material, my only gripe is that she will not communicate via any means other than in person or on zoom.
Great Professor, would recommend to everyone who need PHY 2048C, well balanced grading.
she is an amazing professor, and always there when you need her. In my experience in Valencia she is the best professor have taken.
Professor Lowman was a great professor. She had labs every week that were mandatory to receive a grade, but you could be with a group. Her homework was pretty extensive but doable. She doesn't do traditional exams; instead, she allows you to record a section of your homework. Overall, I highly recommend taking one of the best classes I've taken
Professor Lowman was a great professor. She had labs every week that were mandatory to receive a grade, but you could be with a group. Her homework was pretty extensive but doable. She doesn't do traditional exams; instead, she allows you to record a section of your homework. Overall, I highly recommend taking, one of the best classes I've taken
Professor Lowman was very easy to contact and cared a lot about her students. We had homework, an examination on the homework problems, and a lab every week. There were two demo projects, no big final exam and she dropped your lowest test score. You should get an A in the class if you complete all the assignments on time and follow directions well.
Worst professor I have ever taken in my entire life. avoid at all costs.
Extremely frustrating to work with. She gives unfair grades that do NOT match up with rubriks. One time she gave me a 50 on a test grade for something not in her rubrik. She ONLY meets on zoom and allows no emailing. It is very frustrating having to only communicate on video call. She says its because she's "lonely".makes some inappropriate comments
If you want to actually learn Physics 2 then she is the perfect teacher, she cares about teaching you the material although she may be a little tuff on you in reality, she just wants to make sure you understand and actually learn
Professor Lowman is the best! She's very responsive when it comes to emails and knowledgable about the topics. I love that she includes hands-on learning experiences through the demos and is great for any student who isn't a good test taker. She does exams based on the homework and you upload your homework and record you explaining the problem.
She is always eager to assist her students with any difficulties they may encounter. Additionally, she responds promptly to emails, addressing a wide range of questions. One of her notable qualities is her readiness to conduct Zoom meetings to clarify exam and homework instructions if students find them challenging.
Professor Lowman is the strictest professor I've had but she is incredibly informative and always available to meet whenever I have a question. It is very easy to fall behind as physics in a difficult subject. The labs are done in groups and are mandatory. There are no traditional tests, instead you create a video solving a homework problem.
Professor Lowman is a straightforward person and I respect that. She structures her course to ensure her students succeed and outlines what is expected in order to pass her class. Don't get me wrong, you need to put work into this class (Read 1 CH; do: 1 HW, 1 Lab, & 1 "Exam" each week), but after a couple of weeks, it gets manageable.
Prof: Smart; Open availability via Zoom for questions - only form of communication. No tests: Only weekly lab, homework, and examination. Labs: Easy, but arrive even a minute late = no credit. Homework: 3 questions, but >10 parts. Exams: Homework work and video explanation of one question - all steps. Grading: Based on textbook ex. - draw if in ex.
Professor Lowman takes a lenient yet effective approach, focusing on learning over memorization - she does not give tests. She reviews lab work before you leave, often ensuring a 10/10, but do not be late, or you will not receive credit. She drops the lowest homework, lab, and "examination" scores. Physics is tough, but she one of Valencia's best.
DON'T DO IT. TRUST ME. UNLESS YOU HAVE NO OTHER CLASSES AND NO JOB DON'T DO THIS. I'm reviewing on here because she's giving me extra credit for doing so, make of that observation what you will. Assignments are insane and there's a lot per week, "exams" weekly too, you will have NO TIME to do them. Grades VERY harshly and has 0 leniency at all.
Professor Lowman is an outstanding instructor who genuinely cares about her students. She hosts Zoom meetings almost daily for extra help, ensuring no one falls behind. The workload is heavy, but it's manageable. As someone balancing a full-time job and full-time studies, I found her assignments is doable as long as I prioritized the readings.
Overall pretty frustrating class. One large gripe that I had is if you have any question on the homework, she will pull yours up with your grades. I thought that grades were confidential, and this made me never want to ask questions. If you don't ask them in class, don't bother emailing as she only zooms. Lose/Lose situation. I'd take someone else.
class is very easy and only has 3 assignments a week, as long as you follow the textbook and what she gives you, and do the homework the correct way, it is an easy class to pass.
This class was easy and straightforward
Prof. Lowman class is easy. She gives 3 assignments per week which consist on a chapter homework, a lab, and a chapter exam. The homework has multiple part per question and 3 questions total. The exam is basically recording yourself doing a homework question. Do your weekly readings and follow her format and you will succeed in this course.
Professor Lowman was great. This class is very textbook heavy/ assignment heavy. But! there are no high risk assignments. Everything is graded very balanced and she is understanding. The lowest grade in each category gets excused. She is big on zoom. Only critiq, I wish that she had her own lectures prerecorded in canvas, shes great @ demoing phy.
She's a good professor. I don't think she really liked me to be honest as I was trying my best and it wasn't good enough so I had to study a lot more. I am a horrible test taker and her video tests were a little hectic but way better than paper tests
She's a little tough but she's a nice professional person and she tries to help in any way she can. At first she tought she didn't like me at all. But she still helped me a lot.
I took a mixed mode class so we only met once a week for lab and there was not really a lecture. To learn the material you must read the textbook and do all the homework assigned every week. While it may be tough, if you can handle it she is a great teacher. Clearly states what she expects from you and how she grades things. Available outside class
If you are someone who is self motivated and doesn't mind learning through the textbook, then this is a good class for you. It is low stress due to there being no tests, and as long as you put the work in its an easy course. I took a hybrid class where we showed up to the lab and learned at home, so obviously attendance is mandatory. I recommend.
I would 100% recommend her class it as the grading scheme is in your favor with the amount of assignments that need to be graded. Tests are relatively easy and practical. Professor Lowman is a great professor, that is easy to talk if you have any questions. There is a lot of material, but once again this is physics II, so get ready!
She offers extra credit for writing reviews, which could explain the high ratings. If you work part-time or full-time, this class will be overwhelming—the workload is INSANE. She's knowledgeable but very strict, and sometimes students don't feel treated equally. I wouldn't take her again.
Professor Lowman is really caring and passionate. She can be a tough grader but gives great and meaningful feedback. Lots of homework/presentations but there are no exams in her class. As long as you do everything on time and follow her instructions you should be able to get an A.
I took professor Lowman for Physics 1 and now for Physics 2. I would highly recommend her! This class in no means "easy" or "a walk in the park" but as long as you study and complete your work will be just fine. Her style of teaching is one that I truly enjoy! Don't let the other reviews scare you. You will do great in this class. Trust me!
Prof. Lowman is a good professor. She cares about making you smile and learn. Homework and exams are every week. Exams are a walkthrough of how you solve homework problems. Fun labs every week, and you get to pair up with classmates. Overall, this is not a hard course, but not easy either. Just put in the work and you will be fine! Don't stress!
Professor Lowman is a great professor. She is very approachable and knowledgeable. She cares a lot about you understanding the material and is always available for help (via zoom since it was a hybrid course). I plan on taking her for physics 2.
She was a really good professor. She put a lot of effort into the class structure and style to make it optimal for students to perform well. There are clear expectations for this course and if you do your work every week you're going to do exceptionally well. She gives feedback through zoom and you can just coordinate a time to meet her.
Professor Lowman does an awesome job with the online format. The course is clear, organized, and easy to follow. She is quick to help if you need it, and the assignments really make you understand the material.
Professor Lowman is very accessible if you need her and the class format is the same as Physics 1 with her. The class is a lot of work but as long as you follow her instructions you will do well in the class!
It's a lot of reading other than that, the class isn't that hard. The class is made up of 14 test videos on one of the sections of the chapter and 14 homework assignments, which are technically also a part of your test since you have to turn in the work, and 1 lab once a week. As long as you solve the problems as the book states, you will pass.
The amount of work is the same each week and she is clear on how it is graded. She is available for Zoom meetings to assist you. There is a lot of homework.
She was an excellent professor. She cares a lot about you understanding the material, and she gives feedback through Zoom. Overall, I highly recommend taking one of the best classes I've taken
I took professor Lowman for both PHY 2048C and PHY 2049C. She is a great professor and clearly outlines how her assignments must be completed. She is available for both Zoom and in-person meetings almost all the time, and if you struggle with the material or have any questions, she will help you.
She is an excellent teacher who responds promptly to emails and provides very helpful feedback. While her homework assignments can be demanding and sometimes extensive, they are incredibly beneficial for improving your understanding and skills in physics.
The coursework is effective and you do learn a lot. She is very strict with deadlines and homework and there is no wiggle-room. MAKE SURE YOU STUDY AND PREPARE ON TIME EACH WEEK. With online, her labs are fairly straightforward but watch for the big presentations at the final two weeks. Her grading is fair though and you can recover if doing badly.
Professor Lowman is a great professor. She is respectful, kind, knows her stuff and how to explain it. She grades basically on the weekly assignments and labs. You have to do the homework and record a video redoing and explaining one of the questions (A-G most of the time).
amazing professor! will take again
Professor Lowman is a really kind and supportive instructor. She might come across as tough or demanding at first, but it's only because she genuinely wants you to push yourself and succeed. Only the lab sessions are in person the rest of the chapters you study on your own at home. It can be challenging, but it's a good experience overall.
Very clear and straightforward professor. She tells you exactly what you need to succeed. Be punctual for labs; she removes the sign-in sheet right at the start time. The textbook videos are helpful and align closely with the homework. No proctored tests, which is a big plus.
The formatting and grading criteria for this course makes it easy the retain the info you're learning for that week. Professor Lowman has clear grading criteria, and gives needed feedback via zoom, which makes it easier to understand. Loved her class!
The teaching methods used by this instructor are very thorough, promoting a proper understanding of the material. When it comes to exams and labs, proper instruction is given as well, allowing for a positive learning experience.
Professor Lowman is one of the best professors I've ever had. She is a caring and supportive instructor who genuinely wants her students to succeed.
this is my second time taking this professor, and to be honest, she is amazing. she is very clear with the grade and if you need help she is available to help you almost everyday.
Accesible A
Great teacher for students that prefer independent learning, homework over exams and online learning. Downsides: Some of the grading criteria are confusing and non-existent/anemic feedback. Grading often 2-3 weeks later.
Professor Lowman is a fair grader with clear and consistent grading criteria. Once you understand the expectations, it's easy to succeed as long as you stay on top of the weekly material. Each week includes a homework assignment, lab, and an exam, where the exam involves selecting a homework question and creating a video explaining your solution.
She is really good. Course is evenly distributed, the evaluations are the same every week and she is clear and consistent with what she asks for. Very accessible and willing to help. I would definitely take her again :)
exams are like explaining the homework in a video. She also does not give you credit even if you was late for like two minutes. So be sure to come earlier for like 5 minutes. At first grading the exams was a bit confusing. But then it was okay. I would take this professor again, better than regular exam type. Professor also knows what she is teachi
Professor Lowman is a supportive and organized instructor, great for independent learners. No proctored exams and helpful video resources. Just be punctual for labs. Grading can be slow, but overall, she's one of the best professors I've had.
Its a lot of work if I had to opportunity I would've taken this class for Physics 1. The biggest thing is to keep up with the workload the best you can. If you work a lot and need a class where you can have clear instructions on assignments to do and can manage time well this is a great class for you.
Great class, was nervous coming into phy 2 but just read the textbook and follow the formula's given and they will take you a long way. labs were simple and good instructions on how to complete them. there are demo assignments where we create our own little DIY demonstrations most of this class assignments were fun to learn about.
She is a really good professor, and she is always open to help you if you have any questions. She do not do exams since you just have to record videos and do HW. It is a very easy class, but if you will do any engineering class I would recommend yoy to pay attention and ask questions.
Professor Lowman's class makes Physics 2 simple. The workload may be heavy, but as long as you keep up with your weekly assignments, you should be fine. The online labs are easy and the demos where you have to record yourself doing an experiment are fun. If you need help don't be afraid to schedule a zoom meeting with Professor Lowman.
She's tuff you do have to dedicate yourself, if you have a lot going on and personal issues I dont know if this is the class for you she is a good teacher
I would take all of my physics classes with professor Lowman if I could. She is almost always available to meet via zoom. We had a weekly homework lab and lab report and a weekly quiz. The way the class was formatted I liked a lot and I feel like I learnt a lot as well.
Take this online class!! There was weekly homework, weekly lab, and a weekly exam, no final or midterm. For the exams you had to upload a video of you explaining the Pearson HW. She is a little strict on the exam grades, and wants you to do it a certain way, so you might fail a few exams but she also drops an exam, lab and homework. Labs took 1 hr
Professor Lowman is one of the best! The course is super organized and she truly cares about her students. She drops the lowest grades and is always willing to help via Zoom. The material is tough but fair. Just be ready to put in the time—this class takes effort, but if you stay on top of it, you'll do great.
Professor Lowman was a great professor. Specifically online, she's stricter and less lenient, but still, it's a wonderful course. Her homework was pretty extensive but doable. She doesn't do traditional exams; instead, she allows you to record a section of your homework. Overall, I highly recommend taking one of the best classes I've taken.
This was a great course. The homework prepares you for each chapter exam. The professor is very easy to access, and she will patiently help you with any questions you have about the homework. She drops your lowest exam, homework, and lab grade. Make sure to turn things in on time.
Professor Lowman is amazing! She focuses on true understanding over memorization, as she does not give tests. She checks lab work before you leave, ensuring a 10/10, but do not be even a minute late, or you will not get any credit. She drops your lowest homework, lab, and exam scores, which is basically a teach-back video.
The class was really organized. It was work to get a good grade. Professor is very understanding and drops one assignment of all. Definitely manageable in summer. 1- Don't be late in assignments and class 2. Review Kinmatics before starting phy1 3. Units/ variables/ sketches 4. Follow textbook 5. Buy a camera stand for exams 10/10 Professor
Professor Lowman is amazing. The class is organized and grading criteria is clear. Although it takes work, an A is very obtainable. She drops the lowest grade for HW, Exam and Lab. Make sure you don't get late to class for labs, and complete all the homework (it is extensive but manageable) Professor is understanding, caring and accessible.
BEST PROFESSOR EVER! She doesn't do exams! Instead, after every two chapters, you choose one hw problem and record yourself explaining it, which is way less stressful and actually helps you understand the material. She also drops the lowest lab, examination, and homework grades. Super clear, organized, and genuinely wants her students to succeed.
professor is good at teaching. she wants you to learn about the subject. weird testing procedure. having to make a video of one of the homework problems. drops the lowest score from each homework and lab.
Professor Lowman is an excellent professor who deeply cares about student learning. I really enjoyed the exam format, which is a recorded video of you explaining a homework assignment as opposed to a standard exam.
Professor Lowman is very good with her labs done in class. She does expect you to have gone over the “lectures” in the textbook and done the HW to fully understand the concept but you will have plenty of time to do
Professor Lowman was absolutely amazing. The expectations are very clear, all assignments are posted so you can work ahead if you'd like, and she gives great feedback on the labs! The homework takes a while to complete since each problem has multiple parts to it, but it is very doable. Highly recommend this professor!
Class material was a little bit heavy because I took it during summer, but I chose this class as a transient student from UCF, and the way the class is set up is way better than the physics department at UCF.
Read the textbook and you will pass. If you don't like to read, you will fail or lose points on the test. The class is composed of hw, which can take a long time, but is doable, and a video test, which is you recording yourself doing a section of the hw. Read the textbook, and you will never lose points. Also, u are excused from 1 test and lab.
Professor Lowman was great. Her labs are well-structured, easy to follow, and most include step-by-step procedures along with the formulas you'll need. However, attendance is very important to her. If you arrive late, you will receive a 0—even if you complete the lab. If you're not a punctual person, it's best not to take her class.
She is very helpful and concerned with your success, and she always has availability for Zoom meetings so she can help you out with any questions you have. The homework and examination process is very simple and she lays out her expectations clearly. A good bit of studying from the textbook involved in order to understand the subjects and pass.
If you're thinking about taking this class, know it's not easy. The professor is a picky grader because you must follow every instruction EXACTLY. Homework is assigned every two weeks and takes time. The material is clear and you'll learn a lot, but only if you put in the effort. The class gets easier after you get used to her teaching style
Professor Lowman is really clear about her grading criteria. Make sure to read the book! The homework is long and it takes time. Plan accordingly and you should be fine. For the exams, you must record a video working on the homework.
Assignments have no late leniency therefore, do not procrastinate because that one minute late can cost you a letter grade. Also, exact expectations are not completely set out, like there is no real rubric for assignments and exams.
Professor Lowman is a good professor, but her class is challenging you have to put in consistent effort, as your work ethic directly impacts your grade. She's very particular about how things are done in lab and on exams, but she provides helpful feedback to improve your work.
Overall, Professor Lowman's class structure for PHY2049 greatly benefits those with busy schedules. We were given weekly assignments that were each 6 questions (each question containing multiple parts) and weekly "exams" where you record yourself working through one question from the hw (completing each part of said question). Weekly labs as well.
Professor Lowman is a great instructor. She's a bit strict about being on time, deadlines and showing your work, but she gives helpful feedback and pushes you to improve. She's patient when answering questions and is always willing to meet on Zoom if you need help. I'd definitely recommend her and would take her again.
Physics 2 can be a tough class but professor Lowman makes this class very passable as long as you complete the assignments. One of the best professors I have taken in Valencia.
This class was conducted in a hybrid format, so there wasn't a lot of direct teaching during scheduled class time. However, the course was very well organized, with clear expectations and resources that supported independent learning. On lab days, the professor did take time to go over questions and clarify difficult concepts.
This class was conducted in a hybrid format, so there wasn't a lot of direct teaching during face to face. However, the course was very well organized, with resources that supported independent learning. On lab days, the professor did take time to go over questions, which was very helpful. She is accessible outside of class hours.

She was also accessible outside of class hours
The homework can be tough, but everything else, from the labs we did to the exam, was manageable. I liked the style of the exams I had; they weren't traditional, but rather you taught the material. I feel like the professor could have done better at simplifying her explanations for better understanding. Put in the effort, and you will pass.
Please take this professor, classes are chill. Just make sure you get to class on time. Homework and tests are pretty straightforward. PLEASE TAKE HER, you will thank us later.
I took this course fully online in 8 weeks over the summer, which is why there was so much homework because it is the same amount of homework if I were to take it for the whole summer. The homework can be long. She is very helpful and always there for any homework or test help. She give great feedback and if you follow you will pass with an A.
She is a great professor. She always responds quickly to emails and is available to help and answer any questions. There's one homework assignment, one lab, and one exam each week. The homework can be a bit long, but it really helps you understand and learn the material. I highly recommend her, I wish I had taken her for PHY2048 as well
The workload is quite fair. She drops lowest scores in each category but is super strict about not accepting late/makeup work. No exceptions. Prepare to read a ton because she doesn't really lecture- just a couple of explanations of formulas here and there before the labs. No final exam. You can't be late to the lab, or else you won't get credit.
She is a wonderful professor. She clearly states at the beginning of the course what you need to do in order to pass the class, which is pretty easy. She also gives feedback on anything you ask for and she responds within 24 hours. She also drops the lowest grade in each category and doesn't give out tests. I would recommend taking her.
The class is not easy but is not the hardest. There are plenty of assigments and Labs every week but they are never due on the same day. Professor is very quick grading!
Professor Lowman grades fairly and gives you all of the resources you need to succeed in this course; however, physics itself can be difficult so make sure to complete all the homework and take your time understanding the concepts, and you will do well in the exams. I recommend to take physics with Lowman. I wish I had taken Physics 1 with her.
I took PHY 2049C. I had a great experience. Do all your work and SHOW all your work. She is a tough grader because she expects greatness from you. I have told all my friends to take physics with Professor Loweman. Don't take this class if you're lazy. It's not an easy, do nothing class. But there is so much opportunity to do well.
Professor Lowman explains the course material clearly. Submit the assignments on time, your lowest one gets dropped. For the exams, you'll need to record a video walking through your homework questions so be sure to prepare for them. Overall great professor!
she is not going to do any lecture, you have to learn by yourself and READ the WHOLE book if you want to understand a little bit of the subjects.
Avoid at all costs. Insane amount of homework. You have to teach yourself from the book. Zero leniency and no partial credit. Also takes forever to grade just to hit you with a 50% for small mistakes.
The workload in this class is insane. The content is taught primarily through the textbook that gives you the most convoluted explanation possible. The homework consists of 3+ hour, 30+ part FRQs and the tests want detailed explanations of the homework mirroring the textbook's, both of which are weekly. I highly recommend not taking this class.
you are gonna absolutely hate this professor at first but after you get used to how she likes work shown and how her class is set up the class is such a breeze. it is ALOT of homework and youre gonna be spending atleast 3-5 hours a week on homework but generally easy just time consuming. overall, i liked the class at the end
Why are the good reviews posted on the same day? Is somebody writing their own ratings?
As a student physics 1 and physics 2 with her, she is the best. Grade percentages are equally divided for lab 30%, homeworks 30%, and exams 40%. One of each is dropped. Exams is recording 1 long hw question with explanations, units, and sketches to get full credit. I recommend buying a camera stand for the exams, or you will be holding the phone.
She is an absolutely amazing professor that truly wants you to learn and understand, if you want to pass the class with a great understanding of physics please take her class. It may seem like alot of work but its very much for your benefit so if you miss an assignment it wont affect your grade as much.
She is an amazing professor that truly wants you to learn and understand, if you want to pass with a great understanding of physics please take her class. It may seem like alot of work but its very much for your benefit so if you miss an assignment it wont affect your grade as much. - if you see this rating twice i apologize my computer glitched.
I took her for both PHY2048C (A+ earned) and now PHY2049C (A- currently). She, in my opinion, gives the best chance for a good grade among all other physics professors here. She doesn't require lab reports, labs are easy. There is a lot, and I mean a lot of homework. Exams are you filming yourself solving a problem from scratch. I recommend her.
I am currently taking Angela Lowman and she an amazing teacher. She gives feedback on your homework. Some of the homework does take a little so start doing your homework early. Test are a little different because you actually record yourself answering homework question. I do recommend to take her you learn a lot.
I took this physics class online and it was easy. She really tries to know her students, even online, and her feedback helps a lot. You do have to make detailed videos solving problems, but she explains clearly what she wants.
I took professor Lowman for both Physics 1&2. She truly cares ab her students and will provide you with all the resources you need to success in her course. Homework can seem a bit long, but it helps you to understand and truly learn the material. She drops ur lowest grade, so if u miss one assignment it wont affect ur grade that much. take her !!
Prof. Lowman created a stress-free learning environment. She is incredibly quick & responsive to emails. The structure of her course has been highly effective for me in learning and retaining the material taught. While the hw is HEAVY, she gives ample time to work on it and reach out to her for help and guidance. Best physics Prof!
Professor Lowman really tries to make sure you succeed. The class is tough, but she gives you enough to pass and do well. If you mess up on a test, she'll even set up a Zoom meeting to go over what you got wrong. I'd definitely take her class again.
She is an excellent teacher who responds promptly to emails and provides very helpful feedback. While her homework assignments can be demanding and sometimes extensive, the materials are incredibly beneficial for improving your understanding and skills in physics.
The homework will seem like a lot but is very doable as long as you have some time to spend on the textbook. All the formulas and examples in the book will pretty much help you solve all the homework problems. I love the way the tests work in this class, as they are simply video submissions of HW questions without notes. Labs are easy and fun too.
This professor's grading system is wounderful and very forgiving however don't get caught up in that fact. Make sure to do all you work on time and speak with her if you need assistance shes very helpful. She also answered many question quite quickly!
Mixed Mode Class. There is a homework due every other week and a test on the weeks we don't have a homework. The homeworks can be long but as long as you manage our time it is very doable within a week. The exams are just a video of you explaining one of the HW questions, so there are no actual tests which is very nice. The labs are very fun.
The course is easy to plan for with a consistent workload. One week you do homework, and the next you're tested on a problem from that homework. It truly measures what you learned. The weekly videos give clear overviews of the two chapters and help reinforce key points.
The course is easy to schedule with a steady weekly rhythm. You do a homework assignment one week and the next week you're tested on a problem from it, so you're truly assessed on what you learned. The weekly professor videos give clear overviews of the two chapters and support understanding.
Every other week, HW assignments are due; they are 6 questions; however, they can vary on how long they are (Part A - Part G for the shorter ones and Part A - Part Q for the longer ones). Do your work early, and you'll be fine and meet the deadlines. Exams are you recording yourself explaining and solving one of the homework questions. Also Labs.
This professor is very accessible when you need guidance on your work. Homework may take long but it helps you learn. Exams only consist of recorded videos working out a problem which is great for those with test anxiety. Overall great professor
This course was mixed mode with in person labs. Attendance for lab is mandatory to get credit. For learning the material, rather than any lectures, we relied solely on the textbook which can be difficult to fully understand. For the examination problems, you just need to be sure to follow the same format as the video solutions from the textbook.
Excellent professor. The class is tough and requires dedication, but once you get the rhythm it becomes manageable. She's passionate, very dedicated, loves what she does, and is open to feedback, even adjusting deadlines to help students succeed.
Professor Lowman will give you the best feedback on your tests and homework. She will join you on a Zoom meeting in order to improve your grade by letting you know what you can improve and what you did wrong, which I found incredibly helpful.
She has the most unique way of doing exams for an online class I have ever seen. She can quickly adjust due dates. She is swift to respond to Canvas messages or email, if office hours are open. The only problem is that if you pace yourself on these long homework assignments, you can't do them in one night.
no lecture, pure reading the whole book. Is really easy to have a 90%. But if you ask me If I really nderstand anything, I will tell you I didn't learn a bit
The class isn't too bad Be prepared, the hw is quite a bit but expected, its physics 2 Have to do diagrams for most problems, if not then points get taken off No test/exam but has you do a recording of a problem set from the hw (which can take a bit) Pretty responsive with things but for some reason has u do a meeting on zoom which is kinda annoying
The tests are videos of you explaining how to do one homework problem. Show up to the labs get credit and do good on a couple tests easily pass the class
Took PHY2049C online with her, and it felt steady and well-rooted. Modules were clear, deadlines fair, and her notes made the tougher concepts click. She communicates, answers questions with patience, and truly wants you to learn. Discipline pays off. I'd take her again.
Solid class fun to work in groups on the labs. Lecture was alright gave basic understanding of the subject to be able to do HW and labs. Prof. Lowman is a nice person. Tests are video based instead of the norm which is useful if you struggle on time based exams. The class relies more on the book to learn the class rather than the prof. TIYWTPW A+
This professor's unique online teaching style requires students to show their work and explain what they've learned through presentation-style videos. This method has made the material far more memorable for me, and I find it much more effective than traditional teaching approaches.
I took this course to complete my science credit for my gen aa and absolutely enjoyed the course. The lab instructions were clear and concise, and asking her questions is very easy.
Professor Lowman did a great job at providing resources and instructions on how to succeed in this course. The course load is heavy but manageable, as long as you don't wait last minute. The professor is very passionate about your success and is always eager to help or provide feedback. The labs are also enjoyable and help connect with the homework
If you take this class you will not have anything to worry about as long as you do not miss deadlines and show up to labs. Professor Lowman can be a bit nitpicky about how assignments are done but once you learn her rules in the first week or two, it is actually quite difficult to lose points on any assignment that you turn in on time.
She is a very lenient grader on the video exams, as long as you show that you understand the content she wont mind if you stumble through it. Just make sure to use free body diagrams for every question.
Professor Lowman is a great professor. She does portfolio-styled exams, so you record yourself going through a homework question of your choice. She is a tough grader, but once you learn what she likes, it is not a hard class. just lock in twin and it will be good.
all around great
She makes her class very manageable. The AI Demo projects are also straightforward as long as you have the necessary materials.Drops the lowest grade and offers extra credit opportunities through optional labs if needed. The only thing I don't love is that she sometimes changes due dates, usually to a later time but you do need to keep an eye on that

very good professor, if you have to tale physic I will 100% recommend. The work in my opinion its not a lot for a physics class and she makes it easy to understand. Very good at teaching the material. and helps a lot with the labs.
Very nice and caring professor, would take another class with them. Be prepared to have strict guidelines and homework but once you get used to it, its not too bad. Easier than I would've thought.
She's great, you just have to do the work assigned. She also gives great feedback and is reasonable with everything.
I loved having Ms. Lowman. She was direct with the grading and left no room for error. However there were many assignments in the course, it doesn't end up mattering much if you miss a few. She also drops the lowest grades out of assignments. The only thing I disagree with is not receiving a grade for labs even if you're just 1 min late to class
I took this professor for 2049C online. The online labs are simple and easy to complete, and I liked the demo AI projects; she isn't harsh when grading those. Even though the online format is convenient, I personally think her in-person classes are better if you want to stay motivated and really understand the concepts through hands-on labs.
Professor Lowman's design of this class helped me pass with an A. She doesn't take late work and the homework is time consuming, but our exams are a video we film unedited, of us completing a homework question from scratch. This approach really helped me pass. Highly recommend.
Professor Lowman's class has been absolutely amazing. From the homework, to the projects and AI demo's I feel like I have learned so much. She's very responsive and understanding too. Homework IS HEAVY!!! but the repetition really worked for me.
The hw is due every other week, not very hard but extremely time consuming. Exams are a 15-30 min video of you explaining one of the hw problems, due every other week. The labs are easy but you get no credit if you are even 1 min late to class. Professor is helpful and available outside class.
The class is easy to keep up with; the due dates and types of assignments are straightforward, so it is easy to stay on track. If there's an issue with a grade, you have to schedule a Zoom meeting, which is a bit annoying. If you arrive late, you won't have the option to submit your work, so being on time is essential.
The course is very straightforward. Weekly labs with HW due on one week and Exam due on the next week. HW can be a little annoying and quite time-consuming, but exams are easy as you just record yourself doing one of the HW problems. Overall, decent course with a nice professor.
Professor Lowman is simply amazing. Her physics courses are divided into three types of assignments: Homework, Work, and Exams (not really a test, just filming a short video solving a problem from the homework you just did). Once you get used to the pace, you realize it's an easy A. Professor Lowman is always there to help and guide us. Take Her!
The teacher is very caring and hard working but if you're going to take this course be prepared to have to record yourself many times and for long periods of times throughout the semester to show your work.
Make sure you have a meeting with her online early on.
I would definitely recommend professor Lowman to anyone. Her course outline is clear one week homework the next a test (not a traditional test just a video of you explaining a couple of problems as if you were teaching the content your have learned). While the class is not easy it is clearcut and set up to be "easy" you just need to do your work.
Teaching style for her mixed mode style is a light lecture at the start of each class, followed by the weekly lab. Students are expected to do a decent amount of the material from the textbook/online homework. Work must be shown in the way that the textbook teaches it! Would recommend this course, as I'm already enrolled for 2049C with Prof Lowman.
Professor Lowman's course was the most convenient format in my experience. At first it is odd but once you get the hang of it, it becomes fluid. There is a lot of self investigation in. she'll give you as many perspectives as possible within her lectures to comprehend the concepts as possible. Just show up and do the work.
