the class is really easy..u generally stay in class for about 15-20 mins. The other thing is that i thought her grading is a little strict.

Great teacher! You can turn in your papers early and she'll proof-read it and give suggestions, and then let you re-do it and turn it in on time. I took her for 1100 and 1200. She's so funny!!!! Take her for any english class! :)

She is strict but very fair. Not that bad of a looker at 9:45 in the morning. Definitely would take her again.

Great professor, easy class! She will proof your papers before the due date, and is easy on grading. Worth taking for both ENGL 1100 and 1200.

She is the best teacher. She actually cares about the students and her class isnt hard she is a awesome teacher. u will b happy if u attend class (extra credit in a good way) but there is only a few assignments to turn in. write bout things discussed.

Great teacher. Lets you have discussions in class. Always lets you out early. very fun class. Doesn't give many A's though. Most people end up with a B or C+. Would probably take her again.

she is adorble, very nice, very into discussions, read the assignments and write your papers, you will do fine. class is always let out early, so there really isn't a need to miss class

She is such a laid back teacher. So nice. She is very reasonable about papers and never has class if the weather is too hot or too cold. You learn a lot though and get what you need to know.

She is one of the best. 4 essays and easy 5 minute classroom work. Rarely ever takes more than 20 minutes in classroom.

Hard to get an A, i got a B, even she told me it was hard to get an A, but fun nice teacher, not very many assignments so you have to work hard on the ones you get

Class avg lasts 20-30 min and about 75% of all classes are just her answering our questions. Few reading/class assignments. Fun class but very hard to get an A. She's really cool and understands that students have a life outside her classroom so cuts us some slack when we need it. RECOMENDED.

GREAT teacher!!!!!! I loved her class.You get out early and she is always willing to help you. I think everyone should take her class.

I loved this class. She never held class longer than 30 min. but it's hard to get an "A". You really have to work hard to earn an "A". She's really cool and funny. I wish I was having her for eng 1200 hopefully i'll get in. Take Eng with her if you ever get the chance. You'll love it!

This class was alright. Miss****r is funny, but she can also be alittle rude. She gives little to no work, other than papers, but it is near impossible to get an A on a paper. Be on your Ps and Qs with this woman.

I hate English, but she made the class short and fun. Good teacher, papers are graded tough, but are at least on interesting topics. Very nice...just watch out for the 10 minute speech.

Ms. Raper is the coolest! Her papers in 1100 are short and easy, and she makes a boring subject interesting enough to go back after Spring Break. I had her for 2 classes, and I'd take her again. She has a sharp sense of humor- but it's cool.

Even if your not good at writing she gives you a chance to improve on assignments.

She is great. Her Classes are short and fun. I like her a lot and she helps me out with my papers. The papers can be hard, but you get to work with her and she will help you out. Take her, and plus you are never in class longer then 30 min.

She is an awesome teacher! She hardly gives homework, but its so hard to get a good grade on her papers so be prepared to make a C on all of them

She teaches a very easy going class. Most of the time it's only 30 minutes long, and mostly filled with stories. Don't let her scare you the first week of class, she does it on purpose, she's really a funny lady. Don't expect to get much higher than a C on any papers though, she grades them hard.

Starts out intemidating but lightens up later in semester. She is fun but hard.

She is a great teacher. Classes are never really long. In the beginning she seems mean but she is really easy going and a lot of fun. I highly suggest her!!

I took her 1100 and 1200, she grades tough but give you plenty of chances to bring up your grade. Dismisses class early a lot. Really good teacher!!

Are we talking about the same Angela Raper? She gives so much busy work it's crazy! She does grade hard, but you do get chances to bring up your grade. We hardly ever got out of classes early and she never cancelled. She is an overall okay teacher

Good professor-- doesnt mess around with busy work and overall makes it as painless as possible- Everyone gets a C on the papers but it turns out ok..I recommend

She is the best, a lot of reading is required, and she tries to intimidate you the first few days of class, but she's laid back as the semester goes on. She's helpful and as long as you go to class, you should do VERY well! You have to keep journals, have a midterm, final, and 3 papers, but, great class, and great professor! :-)~

OMG I love this woman, she is the all time greatest. When you first come into class she's gonna seem hard and difficult but i promise it's fake. She reads from the textbook but you don't really need it. She doesn't believe in busy work. When it comes to papers, just know you are NOT gonna get an A...but it'll all work out in the end...promise!!

Ms.Raper is a very good professor. We had to write 3 individual papers, 2 group project papers and several easy HW assnmnts. She isnt hard and if you put forth an honest effort on the papers, she will give you a decent grade. I never made lower than an 80 on my papers. Final exam is just a 2 page letter and a notebook check. EASY!!!! Take her!

Good teacher whos is nice after the first week of class.

Disreguard those freshman comments, she didn't like her comp class when i had her so i'm not surprised you felt that way. if you attend all classes, you get extra credit. sometimes boring, but what class isnt. she is funny at time and knows her stuff. not a bad class. papers are pretty easy and you can turn them in early for her to look over.

I absolutely loved her!! The class was so interesting, even for those not interested in English. Towards the beginning we had writing assignments every night that were kind of annoying, but we eventually stopped having them. Three papers, she grades kind of hard but she will go over it with you before it's due if you want. TAKE HER!!

Honestly she is AWESONE!! On the 1st day she will act tough, but shes a softy. She even didnt assign our last paper b/c it was too close to the final and she didnt want us to be overwhelmed. If you are having trouble she will help you. And she will keep you entertained in class, but her humor is dry but really funny. TAKE THIS CLASS, SHES GREAT!!!!

Great teacher. Overall not very hard and she keeps the class interesting. She gives extra credit if you participate a lot and if you have perfect attendance

Whoever wrote that bad stuff about Prof. Raper just had a bad experience. Class can be boring sometimes but she does give extra credit and she is a pretty easy grader if you see her before the due date.

I had her 2 years ago and loved her class. Her class was enjoyable, we would talk about tattoos and speeding and alcohol. She has a great sense of humor. We had 3 papers and I got 2 Cs, and a D on them and u have a chance to correct them and i did and got a B fo rthe class. Fairly easy class.

Miss Raper is by far the best English teacher at ECU. I had her for 1100 and 1200 and recieved an A in both classes. She gives homework so that can bring your grade up. In 1200 we only wrote 3 papers that was only 3 pages each, whereas all my other friends had to write 5-6 pages. I recommened her for both 1100 and 1200! Great teacher

She loves teaching, loves her students, and knows her stuff. She's nice and her classes are discussion oriented. Easy class as long as you do the work. It was fun going to her class and we laughed a LOT

Mrs. Raper is awesome! She is one of the best English teachers at ECU! We had to write four papers, which she does grade hard. You can attend an optional meeting with her to get help on each paper. She gives extra credit for those who made it to every class. Only homework I had was for the first few classes and shes funny! Go take her!

I thought Mrs. Raper was a really good professor. The first days of class she seemed really mean, but she turned out to be really funny and chill about everything. She's kind of a hard grader, but she gives you lots of opportunities before you have to turn the paper in to get a good grade. And if you don't miss a class, she gives you extra credit.

I freakin LOVE this professor! She makes everthing so clear. You have to write but she really puts in a effort to help you.

I had this professor over the summer. She is the most nonbiased and fair professor I have ever had. She makes class fun and interesting with relevant in-class discussions. Just go to class everyday, read, and follow directions. You will love her!

Just read the short stories, literally the only thing you need to do, besides going to class. Midterm and Final are basically the only other assignments all year.

She's not hard, but her classes are SUPER pointless unless your talking about a paper. Go because she starts taking off points if you miss too many classes, but if you miss a few its fine. her assignments SUCK but she lets you revise 2 of your 4 papers. Lastly is an ANAL grader!

Mrs. Raper is an interesting teacher. She definitely grades hard but is ALWAYS there to help you on any of your papers. She does a good job of telling students exactly how she wants something done. (especially papers) I would definitely take this class again! Hard teacher but I learned a lot and am receiving a B! Take her!

Great Teacher. Grades hard but for the portfolio is pretty lenient. I put little effort into this class and got a B. you can miss 5 classes before it hurts you.

I am sitting in her class right now and I have never had a favorite teacher until now. I am so happy I have her for 1200 in the fall 2012. You must do as she says in order to pass her class. If you don't then you are lazy. It's not difficult at all. She tells you exactly what she needs from you and your job is to just do it and you will succeed!

I took her online and she was pretty good. Tells you exactly what she expects in your papers and is a fair grader. However I took summer session one so I had a week to write each paper which didn't turn out to be as hard as i thought but still. I'm not an english person at all and I got a B. I would definitely take her again.

She tells you what she expects and wants. There are 4 Papers we are doing for the semester. For each paper, she has peer review sessions which really help. She wants to help. I was scare of her at first, but she is actually kind of funny! Take this class. It's not bad like I thought it would be. She's letting us skip the fri. before fall break!

She tried to scare people into switching out the first few days, but she is honestly not a bad teacher. Her papers are on interesting subjects and she clearly explains exactly what she wants. However, it is unlikely you'll get an A without having her review it first, but she is more than happy to do so. You can miss 5 classes. I recommend her.

She has a very good personality and is always willing to help her students. If you go to class, and do the assignments, you will pass the class.

She was a great professor and taught me a great deal over the course of the semester!! she gives 4 projects and they're pretty dun to write about. Also, she gives extremely straight forward instructions.

She is a really tough grader, but she had 6 hrsweek of office hours where you can go and ask her anything. She'll even proofread your projects and tell you if you aren't getting to what she's looking for. Very intimidating at first, but get to know her and she's a sweet lady. Loved her and her class but you have to attend to do well in her class.

Took this class online. She was an extremely hard grade with not much feedback. Quizzes and discussion boards weren't too bad, but she means it when she says average. Two responses on a board is a C. Papers were reasonable.

She was a good professor, but directions were not always clear! Go to the writing center so that they can help you on your papers! She is a tough grader but if you go to her office hours and ask questions, she will help you out.

She is one of the best professors ive had this year! She is very accepting of everything and understanding. The class activities are fun and really teach you stuff, you just have to be active in class every day. Its not hard at all.

Was a little disorganized, which made things stressful at first, but things improve as you learn her style. A great deal of participation is required. This class felt more like a public speaking class, as we had to write and present several speeches, but she is very encouraging. Keep up with deadlines and put in the effort & you'll be fine.

Angela is a very up-to-date with our generational issues, social media, etc. I felt like she really connected with us as a class. I also enjoyed the time we took to talk about each book we were assigned for class.

She loves engagement from students. Buy the books at the beginning of the semester, so you stay caught up. Sometimes makes, students engage in group work during class to discuss.

Professor Raper is a fantastic teacher! She shows dedication to her student's progress and demonstrates knowledge in her area of English. I 100% recommend buying the books required for this course since she goes based on those. She gives excellent feedback when it comes to papers in her course. She also has a great outline for this course.

Would recommend Professor A to anyone. 3 books assigned at beginning of the semester, literally the easiest comic-style books ever, way different than what English teachers usually assign. Homeworks are just an analysis of a video or a reading. No test! Just 3 "projects" which are on the books.

Professor A is very helpful when giving feedback. She is incredibly inclusive, and is very intelligent. Would love to take her class again!

I LOVED Professor A it was the best way to start my morning. All homework was very easy and straight forward. We only did 3 papers two that were three pages and one being 5. No final exam. She does count attendance but it doesn't really affect your grade that much. She only had us read 3 books and they were all comic books around 100 pages.

Professor R is an amazing teacher and if you show the effort that you want to pass the class she will do everything that she can to help you pass. She makes you read 3 books and they are all comic and super easy, normally after reading them we have some type of assignment on the book that isn't hard.

Professor Raper is a great professor. She is always willing to help you out outside of class. She makes you read 3 comic books which are nonfiction and fun to read. She does take a grade for attendance.

Imma give you the real she is a great professor, it's a couple of assignments through the course, 2 short essay papers, and 1 final research paper that's it. Overall wonderful class definitely recommend

Super easy teacher. Assignments daily that are completed in class. A few papers but she is super easy to work with. Class is let out early 90% of the time. She is understanding of life and when things come up!! Wish she taught all levels of english.

Professor A is a great teacher who tries to connect with students. The reading assignments are easy comic books, and Unstuck study was super helpful for prepping. Writing assignments can be tough, but put in the effort and you'll do well.
