Angela is a great professor. She makes the class very upbeat, she has a lot of energy. She doesn't take it too seriously, makes jokes, and will answer every/any question you have thoroughly. The only thing is that her lectures go very fast, so be ready to take notes!
Very good teacher Very good teacher Very good teacher Very good teacher Very good teacher Very good teacher Very good teacher Very good teacher Very good teacher Very good teacher Very good teacher Very good teacher Very good teacher Very good teacher
She makes the class enjoyable. There are a lot of notes, but it is worth it to take down all of them.
Great teacher. Puts in a lot of extra time to make sure you understand what you're doing. She really cares about her students.
Angela is good but Calc II is a hard class. You gotta work hard no matter who you got.
She is a very good teacher. Lectures are fast but very organized. Plus you can tell she really cares about here students and wants to help if you don't understand. EXCELLENT TEACHER
Angela rules. She works really hard, but mostly has fun. You work really hard too, but you soak up the material like nothing else. Plus you get to go on a boat!
Angela is awesome. If you really struggle and need help, nevermind the tutor sessions just visit her in her office, she explains what you need to know.
Her class is hard, no doubt about that. But she is a very teacher - very clear and if you need help she is more then willing.
She is a great teacher. very clear, she explains everything step by step. but make sure and attend every lecture otherwise you will get lost easy! hard class but good teacher.
She's a great teacher, very organized. She still uses an over head projector. We had a class of like 100 and I'm pretty sure she had all our names memorized.
She is an awesome teacher who really breaks stuff down if you need it. It is a hard class but if you go to lecture, get help when you need it and put a little effort into your homework you can easily get and A.
Very sincere, cares how well students do, is available for help, TA's are also very helpful. Homework takes alot of time but prepares you for the quizzes, and help is avaliable. Enjoyed that quizzes were less points than HW, but if you are good at test/quizzes and slack on HW it might be bad! Test are HARD but do able, LOTS of NOTES! Awesome Prof!
Awesome job... that's all I have to say :)
LOTS of homework. Attendance is required b/c she uses clicker questions which count toward your grade. Very nice and good looking. Seems to write a lot of unnecessary notes in order to do well. Taking her Calculus class with no previous calc experience would be pretty hard I think. Very easy if you have taked AP calc.
She makes the material easy to understand, and shes nice when you visit her at her office hours
Does a good job teaching the material. Gives lengthy amounts of homework.
Angela is an excellent professor. She gives lots of work, yes, but she does everything she can to help you understand that material. She's also nice and more than willing to work out any sort of problem. The tests aren't too bad if you're prepared, and the TA's help with the homework problems that are hard. I definately recommend Angela!
Really great teacher, really hard class. UMD's class sizes for calc 2 are ridiculous with all the construction going on (limited classrooms). Lots of homework, many quizzes. Expect to do a few hours of homework every day.
Excellent teacher. Would recommend to any one. If you have a choice choose angela. Clicker questions about twice a week, quizzes every week, jeopardy before tests for points, exams are okay if you study, use a study sheet on exams.
I thought she was a terrible teacher, cannot teach Calc for the Natural Sciences. Textbook useless, many errors. She's scatterbrained and flakey. Had to drop class for GPA's sake.
She is very clear, helpful, fair, prepares you well for tests.
She is very helpful if you see her in her office hours, but she is very unclear on what will be on the tests. I was surprised every exam. Also you take constant notes during lecture.
Very helpful office hours. pretty clear during lecture if you understand math well. Good teacher with tests that are average difficulty
I loved angela, she's very helpfull and very clear. I had her for calc I and made sure I signed up for her in calc II.
Good teacher, but I would highly recommend you do NOT take her class at 8AM. Everyday i went to class i felt as if she had drank about 30 cups of coffee and i had to choose between focusing on listening or taking notes. Good teacher none the less, and tests were easy. though if you ace the final it doesnt help your grade much, personal experience
If you need help with anything in that class, go visit her office hours. It's worth it and she explains things very well. She is very understanding if you have a problem. Definitely have to go to class to get the clicker points. Study for the tests and you will do fine. I highly recommend her for calc 2.
Teaches Calc 1 like no other. I worked so unbelievably hard in high school to get a decent grade but in Angela's class, it's cake. She also has an awesome sense of humor. I actually laugh sometimes in class. Only downsides are that she teaches past class time and gives a ton of notes. Making it to my next class on time w/ crutches was quite a feat
Angela is amazing! She'll dumb down anything to make you understand it and never makes you feel dumb for not knowing something. Has lots of office hours so you can always get help. Take her!
She's nice, knows what she's doing, organized. But, she can be kind of strict, she has her rules that you have to follow even though it doesn't seem like it shouldn't be that big of a deal. Her tests are hard. I got an A on the first one and got overconfident and got a D, then a C on the next 2 so make sure you study! I recommend her.
I was told Angela was the person to take for Calc 1. Boy, was that wrong! The way she has her class set up and how she teaches, you have to teach yourself exclusively, unless you can get a tutor. She is very condenscending to the students and during class. She uses notes and examples from an old textbook, and the textbook is worthless.
Professor Sharp makes Calc II manageable...if you put the time in.
Do not take this woman. I was told to take her for Calc 1 but wow were thery wrong. She goes too in depth and makes everything confusing. She uses no examples from the book and does not elaborate on anything. Offers to help you after class but sits there and eats food while you do work and then kicks you out early because she needs to catch the bus
She is always willing to help students and is really good at it too. If she ate lunch while she was helping students it is probably because she had been helping other students all day and hadn't eaten. I don't believe that she ever kicked students out to catch a bus. It's more likely the office hours had ended long ago and they weren't leaving.
Angela goes extremely fast during lecture. You have to decide whether to listen and try to learn or whether to take notes and figure it out later on your own. Clicker points really add up in the end, she does them within the first 5 minutes of class so don't be late or you will miss them. Hard class and doesn't curve at all. Take another teacher.
Really great teacher!! actually made calculus a bit interesting
Angela is great. Goes through material fast but she always gives students the opportunity to ask questions and welcomes them. The homework can be challenging so utilize TA and Angela's office hours. No curve. No notes online.
She is exactly what a teacher should be. Some students need to quit expecting curves in every class. If you do the work A's and B's are possible.
She's a GREAT teacher. She goes pretty fast so I recommend going to every lecture at least. She is very thorough in every concept and homework is pretty in depth but the tests are only on the basics. She was very helpful in class and in office hours.
Great calc teacher...don't skip class.
Very personable and helpful. Recommend going into office hours if needed. Attend class and do the homework. Overall a great professor.
not the clearest during lectures. expects you to be able to write super fast during notes. be ready for a sore hand. very picky while grading things.
AWSOME prof. she is really good. Although she goes fast so if you miss a lecture make sure you get the notes and go through the book to know what you missed. She is VERY helpful with what ever you need.
best math teacher i ever had! She picked the best TA's too!
Works pretty fast during class, sometimes difficult to keep up, but clear nonetheless. Tests are a bit challenging, but she gives out past tests for study guides which are really helpful. attendance is mandatory, she gives clicker questions at the beginning of class.
Such a nice person! I found her lectures engaging, clear and organized. She is helpful with anything you might have trouble with. Loved her!
Calc 1 is harder than it should be (exam problems are very tricky and difficult sometimes). The time of 50min is way too short for the exams, so people do a lot worse than they could. However, if you are good at math you'll do just fine and she is always very helpful. Her TA, Marie is an amazing teacher, so try to get her for discussion!!!!
She moves very quickly in class, making notes hard to take. She does very easy examples of concepts, making it hard to relate the concepts to much harder textbook problems. Exams are very challenging, quizzes are much easier. Homework set is long and only partially graded. Attendance through clicker questions. Textbook is awful and no help either.
Great calc teacher! Explains examples and homework very well and keeps class interesting. Definitely try to take her classes. :)
Probably the best calculus professor I have ever had. She not only explained everything perfectly, but made math fun. Her test were fair, but she does like to find out what her students really know.
Calc is hard, but Angela is super helpful and easy to talk too. She goes pretty fast on the class notes and pacts a ton of examples into every class. So try not to fall asleep, because you will miss stuff. I feel that angela really enjoys teaching calc and likes to make personal connections with her students. So make good use of her office hours.
Angela is a very sweet lady who is approachable, helpful, and just overall a good person. The best part is that on top of all of that she knows what she is doing when teaching. She forces you to engage which some people may or may not like but, in the end you'll learn more from it. She goes the extra length to give extra time on exams which is nice
She is a really good and helpful teacher. I would reccomend for calc II. She sometimes goes way too fast and assumes you know things during lectures, but for the most part she is a great teacher.
She's a wonderful professor! For sure take her classes. Super smart. Can go a little fast, but is very nice to slow down when you need her to. She has a great personality which makes the class fun as well. Cares about her students and overall is just a super good prof!
Angela is, in my opinion, one of the best math professors. She teaches difficult material but is great about explaining and helping. I highly recommend gong to her Office Hours if you ever have questions. She will most definitely help you out with anything you ask.
She is my favorite professor!
Tests were a little harder than expected. Do your work and study and you'll be fine.
Attendance is mandatory. Go to class and you will do great!
She was very helpful and very nice
Wonderful woman. She tends to move very quickly during lectures and she writes extremely fast. But she teaches the material thoroughly and is very good at answering questions in class and office hours. She is also really good at learning all of her students names. Highly recommend taking her for calculus classes.
Angela is awesome and very helpful! If anything is unclear just ask her and she'll try her hardest to make is so you can understand, even if it's a tough subject!
By far the best teacher I have had here. The material covered in this course is difficult but Angela makes it manageable and works with you as much as possible. Without her teaching this class there is no way I would be successful.
Angela makes math easy. Very clean and well thought out lecture. Weekly quizzes and homework. Exams are identical to practice exams, more or less. Just take good notes and pay attention. I would highly recommend her to anyone.
I think she explains things pretty well, but she is also pretty quick, too. Everything you need to do is very clear cut in the syllabus. If you do the work and study for tests a little bit, you won't have any problem. She's also really nice and cares about everyone and even tries to learn everyone's name.
An amazing instructor who enjoys her job. Her lectures are very clear and understandable. Homework and quizzes are on a weekly basis. She's also very helpful when you need her.
Goes by the book and is very vague. Average quiz scores are around a 710 but exams aren't too bad
Angela is very kind and easy to work with, extremely inviting and warm during office hours. My TA was taking many points off for small mistakes on quizzes, so I went to her and got many points back, easily changing my grade. Clicker questions are important, and her review game is the best way to study for an exam. Would love to have her again!
Values examples in class more than through teaching. Moves WAY too fast. Homework and clicker questions are graded on accuracy. Hated her grading and teaching strategy. Got a B in her calc 1 class and didn't know what some things were until calc 2 where I got over 100%. Would never take a class with her again.
Great teacher. Tests are like practice exams.
Angela is probably the best math teacher I have had. Yes, the class is very difficult for me but she is willing to help. She holds office hours and will email at all hours. During office hours she gives generous one-on-one time. I wouldn't hesitate to take another class from her. She is a wonderful lady all around.
Angela was an amazing prof. Her classes were super easy and she is so smart. She can answer any questions you have and make it understandable.
Angela is very helpful when you are confused about something, but her lectures move pretty quickly. Clicker questions and homework are graded for accuracy, so it is important to do the weekly homework assignments and to show up daily for the clicker questions. I would suggest taking this class however.
Angela is a very nice but is a okay teacher, her lectures move very fast and the quizzes are pretty tough. I would only take calc with her if you have taken calc before.
Let's just start by saying she is a good teacher. She knows how to teach, and I do recommend her to other students. That being said, she goes very quickly through the material, and if you find yourself daydreaming, you may miss a good chunk. Make sure to ask questions, and don't be afraid to ask her to repeat something. PS webassign includes ebook
Awesome
Challenging but great
She does a good job at making the subject a lot simpler than it is. Her lectures are a little faster than normal, but what do you expect from a Calc 2 class. She really knows this subject and it is easy to ask questions during class.
she does give a lot of work so be prepared for that, but the time and effort you put in is what you will get out of it. her class structure is very clear and her ta's are very helpful too. if you have any questions about anything she is more than willing to help and responds pretty fast. she cares a lot about how her students are doing
Great prof. Very reasonable & extremely personable. There's a lot of homework, but for a reason. So much (hard) material to learn in CALC2 & you really only understand by doing problems. She lectures very quickly and goes over a lot in 50 minutes. Gives you 2 hours for exams outside of class on friday afternoons which seems annoying but u need it
Here's another example. Let's look at another example. Let's look at an application example. I know I'm over time, but lets quickly look at one more example. I love plants. Give me your deer hearts.
Great Prof
Best teacher I have ever had. Great at explaining hard concepts and she tells funny anecdotes about her family life as well. Truly a wonderful person!
Wonderful person all around, truly the best teacher I've ever had. I wish she could teach all my classes!
Really a run of the mill class. There are worse teachers. There are better. She gets the job done. She's reachable. Sometimes tardy to lecture, had her 8am. Everything on the test she taught. At least she cares about teaching.
A really good professor, often available outside of lecture, otherwise shell make herself available if you contact her and ask to meet. Dont skip lecture, she doesnt put notes online. She makes lecture fun by incorporating her personal life in learning so it isnt boring. Amazing prof overall. Would recommend and would take again.
The lectures are great! She does many examples and explains concepts clearly. She is also always willing to help during office hours.
By far the best math teacher I have ever had. She knows a ton about the topics, and is extremely good at explaining. She goes fast through notes, so you have to make sure you're paying attention, and attendance is mandatory, but I really enjoyed her classes and learned a ton from her.
I would not recommend her. She will go over easy examples in class but expect us to figure out hard problems on our own for homework and the exam.
Professor Sharp is a very caring person and is really looking out for your success, but she does not give in class examples that would help on the homework.
Angela is such a mom! She is so caring and sweet. Her class is heavily lecture-based and it does require work, but if you do all the homework, show up to class and just read the textbook, an A is very easy. She grades stuff pretty quickly and is good about giving partial points. There are clickers so you have to be there everyday, but she is great!
Lectures very straightforward. Clear examples and exams are similar to the practice exams. Make sure you understand the review game questions and then the exams will be easy. Expectations clear. Recommend!
Lectures very straightforward. Clear examples and exams are similar to the practice exams. Make sure you understand the review game questions and then the exams will be easy. Expectations clear. Recommend her for all math!
Goes VERY fast through notes and goes through easier examples during the lecture. Assigns much harder problems for the homework that what we have learned. Hard to keep up with her in class and seems to expect too much from her students. Myself and numerous other often find ourselves lost after a lecture.
Angela is such a caring teacher. Calc 2 is a very difficult class and Angela is really helpful so you can understand it. She moves quickly in lecture, but she really cares about her students, and her and TA's are really available outside of class. Clickers used for participation, but don't skip class, cuz you'll be completely lost on the homework.
Angela is a wonderful professor. She has a clear grading criteria and genuinely cares about her students. Her lectures are quite fast pace, but she will go the extra mile to make sure you understand the material if you go to office hours or ask questions in class. She is the best math professor I've ever had
Angela is super nice and always tries to make sure everyone understands the material. It was a difficult class but she made the expectations very clear and the quizzes and tests weren't harder than the homework. She moves fast but if you go to class and pay attention it is great!
Angela's the kind of professor you want to have for Calculus if you truly want to understand the material. The tests are easier than the homework. Everything has to be worked for in this class. Daily clicker questions are worth points! She is very nice and even memorizes the names of ALL of her students!! I'd definitely recommend taking her course.
I highly recomend taking Angela's smaller section for both CALC 1 and 2 if you can. She was very down to earth and made both calc 1 and 2 easier to understand. She makes herself and her TAs very accesible outside of class. My biggest piece of advice is to make sure you do the practice exams like a real exam to test what actually know.
Angela is a SUPER nice teacher. Just wasn't for me. It was really hard. Maybe it was because it was online this semester. Her teaching is difficult to follow along with. Wouldn't recommend.
I had Angela for Calc I & II. She is an awesome professor. Her lectures were packed full and fast paced, but she definitely gave a comprehensive material on the subjects. Angela is not a tough grader, as long as she can see you put the work into the assignment/exam. If you don't go to class you will not do well.
Angela's lectures are very straight forward and easy to understand. The main problem I had in this class was her assignment deadlines. Most of your assignments in this class are due at 9pm except your paper homework that is due at 5pm, and the post-lecture assignments that are due 1 min before the next class. 1-5 assignments due per day.
I loved Angela's class! She's super nice and helpful. If you ever have a question, you can email her, and she will get back to you really fast. Calculus isn't super easy, but she explains it well and in a way that makes sense. 10/10 would recommend taking a class with Angela.
I was lucky enough to have Angela for Calc I and II, and I would definitely recommend doing so. She has a very clear schedule that helps you build a routine, and it helped me so much not only in terms of staying organized but also really understanding calculus. She is such a caring person, and is always willing to help outside of class.
I took ap calc my junior year of hs and forgot most of calc my sophomore year of college. I really enjoyed her style of teaching. I learn the best with practice problems which she had a plethora of. Make sure to try hard until the last month to get an A. Her exams are easy if you do practice the jeporady problems without looking at the solutions.
Angela is an absolutely fantastic professor, she puts in a ton of effort into teaching her classes, making sure her students understand the information and making sure her students are staying healthy!
From what I gathered, Angela is an amazing person that will always do and say what is best for her students. I ended up withdrawing from this class after a month because I hated math so much. This was also in part because I talked with Angela and we both agreed in the end that suffering through the class for another two months wasn't the answer.
By far the most empathetic and compassionate Professor I've had. She's helped me manage stress levels induced by me missing class for 2+ weeks with covid and heart complications. If you want a professor that actually cares both about EDU and your physical well being Angela is great! Looking forward to having her be my instructor again
Angela is the kindest professor you will have. However, her course is extremely challenging, and she SPEED RUNS the notes. Calc for Natural Sciences also has an awful lab which only works with Mathematica and Excel. Angela is always willing to help outside of class, but there is no extra credit or weighted exams so do well the first time.
Explains concepts in-depth, offers practice exams (REALLY HELPS), launches zoom for extra convenience, & willing to compensate for responsible students who come across obstacles. Don't take for granted; she won't tolerate as she should. Prior to a HW deadline, she offered help on any problem in class. Wish Calc for the Natural Sciences II existed!
In order to do well in the class, you need to have a good work ethic. Material aside, there is a lot of homework but they are quick and easy. If you are struggling, Angela is a great resource and would be happy to help you fix a tiny mistake and get your points back. Attendance is NOT mandatory, although it is in your best interest to be present.
She's an amazing teacher who really cares about her students. You can attend her class in person, over a live zoom meeting, view her lecture recording later and just view her notes in general. She assigns you a group so you have people to talk to if you're confused. She really understands her stuff is is always willing to explain things to you.
Angela assigns almost 3 assignments per unit, which is pretty overkill. She also assigns group work, which is kind of weird for a math class and almost always falls on one person to do each week. The class was offered in person, via Zoom, or via recording which was pretty nice. Really thought grader and a LOT! of homework.
I really liked having Mrs. Sharp as my calc 1 professor. When I would miss assignments, which happened a lot, she would always give me extensions so I could fully complete them. As of now, you can go to the lecture in person and on zoom, and she records the lectures so you can look at them if you happen to miss th. I recommend not skipping lecture.
Angela is a very nice professor and cares a lot about her students. Her lectures are helpful and worth attending. This class however is not it. Take regular calculus 1 if you have the option because you learn content that isn't really used and the textbook is worthless.
She is a really great teacher. Took Calculus for the Natural Sciences with her and she is really great at explaining things, especially since I am not really math-inclined and hadn't taken a math class in almost 4 years. She's also really kind and genuinely wants to help you understand the material, really easy to ask questions. Would recommend.
Angela cares about students' success. The homework load = me acing most exams! If demonstrating a decent work ethic, yet forgot a duedate, she grants another day everytime. Took her for Natural Sciences last semester w/ great scores---& don't regret Calc 2 for this one! Extra credit too! 1297 is TOUGH, but notetaking @lecture saves half the battle!
Angela is a really amazing professor. She is flexible for how you learn best, and is always there to support you. Keep in mind, this is still a calculus class. It can be tricky, its a new way of thinking. But the class size is small so you can become friendly with others, and you have so many resources in order to get help.
Took her on fall 2021 in person but you have to expected 20-30hrs of hw
Angela Sharp is amazing! She presents material in an easy to learn way and is very willing to help if you're struggling on something. Homework can sometimes feel overwhelming, but it is on a set schedule so you know when to plan for it. Tests are weighted the same as homework, so if you keep up with homework but fail a test you'll be fine.
Angela was so amazing. I learned so much in MATH1296. And even though it was a really challenging class, there was so many resources available. Exam prep resources were amazing, and all of the points in the class were weighted the same! I really recommend her, and would take her again if I needed to!!
Angela has been one of my favorite professors here. She is easy to talk to and is really passionate about what she teaches.
She is extremely caring, and you know that she wants her students to succeed. I took this class fall 2022 and she still offered zoom lectures, and would post the lectures to canvas incase you didn't go to class. She explains things very well, and if you ask for an extension on something, she will almost always give you it. I recommend her 100%!
I took her Calculus I class during the fall 2022 semester and calculus is a very hard subject, but Angela makes it super easy. Very accessible outside of class, understanding, and genuinely cares about your success when it comes to math and your goals. She also hosts on zoom and even records the lectures, so don't be scared if you miss a lecture!
Angela is a really amazing person and teacher. She explains things in a way that is very easily understandable. She also isn't monotone at all (helps a lot for math), is hilarious, and is very flexible. She always supports mental health days, homework extensions, etc. Plus her office hours are a great place to get help. Can't recommend her enough.
Angela is amazing! Loved her so much I'm taking her again for Calc II. She's very approachable and accommodating. Homework assignments almost daily, but they are very short and manageable. Teaching methods are very effective. Only things I disliked were tests from 5-7 on Fridays and homework is due at 8 pm instead of 11:59.
a strict but caring professor. will make sure you try to understand whatever she teaches. Will also check up on you if you keep missing her classes. will call you out if she catches you using your phone.
Although this class was intended to be "in person", you only are required to attend on quiz or exam days. She recorded all of her lectures & notes that were given in person, so you can watch them on your own time (making this class great for those who learn well in a somewhat hybrid/ mostly online format). Beware that HW is due at 8PM NOT midnight!
Angela is my favorite professor at UMD. She is kind, intelligent, and most of all cares that her students do well. A highlight is that she is always willing to arrange a time to help out. Great email correspondence, too. You can tell she is excited about what she teaches, which translates well to learning the sometimes difficult material. Take her!
Calc II is a very big step from Calc I in my opinion, but Angela makes it easy. Great feedback, holds Zoom meetings, records lectures, and loves talking about stuff with you during office hours. She genuinely wants to know about her students and also make sure that they understand the content as well. She's awesome, couldn't recommend enough.
I took Calc II with Angela this spring, and she is my favorite professor at UMD. She is very knowledgeable about all things calculus, and it is clear she wants her students to succeed. She encourages her students to ask questions and is always readily available to answer them. You can attend lecture in-person or via Zoom. Highly recommend her!
I love Angela! A nice lady who loves to teach and loves her students. Attend lecture as much as possible because calculus requires your participation and practice. She hardly ever curved tests so put in the effort of using her office hours and the TA office hours. She is the best choice for a calculus teacher, I definitely recommend this course
Angela is passionate about math and carries that into her passion for teaching. She wants her students to do well, and she is willing to listen to feedback. I've never had a professor who wants her students to do so well in their class. Each lecture has a corresponding homework, so be sure to keep up on your homework or it can be overwhelming.
Angela is a great professor! Although I had taken Calc 1 before I found her lectures to be informative and easy to follow.
Calc for the natural sciences is a very tough class, but Angela is a great professor. I probably wouldn't take this course at the same time as another difficult math or science class, but taking it in junction with an entry level bio class was actually quite helpful. Angela really cares about how you are doing which is nice as well.
Angela was very kind and intuitive with her grading. Gave points based off of understanding and comprehension beyond accuracy. Oftentimes, she would approach me personally to go over work during my lab minutes. She was very personable and a very very reasonable grader. There was nightly homework, but exams were linear (she gives study guides).
12 assignments every week that are due at 8 pm; some are quick and easy, while others may take 90 minutes. She is very kind and answers questions in class. Discussion is mandatory, with quick quizzes. Lectures are recorded over zoom, and notes are posted afterwards. Eric is a great TA!
Barely passing as of right now but she is a very nice teacher, passionate about what she teaches and does her job very well. There is a lot of work including the group work which I wasn't a big fan of. But besides that as long as you lock in you'll be alright.
Angela cares a lot about her students and takes pride in her work. As long as you attend class, do the work, and ask for help, you'll do good. I had never taken calculus before this class, but because of her teaching style I was able to get a good grade and actually understand the material.
Professor Sharp is a great professor who cares about her students. When class gets dull or when she has a connection, she lightens the mood with personal stories, but it never feels like your time is being wasted. For me, it felt like sometimes I wouldn't learn everything enough in lecture, but the TA did a great job helping everyone stay solid.
Overall, she is a good person. However, she wants to accommodate for so many learning styles that it gets hard to follow. She moves really fast with the material it's so hard to catch up. I'd write one word down and she completed the example. Since she moves to fast, it's hard to comprehend. You will also see lots of sqaure roots in exams+quizzes.
I took Calc 2 with Angela and she was an amazing professor. She has many resources in and out of class to make sure you get a good understanding of the content. I didn't do so hot because I had some personal things come up during finals week but she was very understanding. She also has all lectures recorded on zoom in case you are sick.
I had Professor Sharp for calc1, she is the best math professor ive had at UMD. Great at explaining and simplifying lectures, making calculus easy to learn. Exams were difficult, in person, on paper, but she gave us lots of study material and review opportunities. There is required online homework and non-required paper, but highly recommend both.
Angela is a passionate math prof who genuinely cares about her students' success. Calculus can be tough, but her engaging lectures, accessibility, and tools like unstuck study made it manageable. Definitely put in the work, but she's there to help you excel.
I love Angela's teaching style. It really makes calculus fun to learn about. She REALLY likes to write tests and quizzes, so don't rely on the practice exams for studying. Her homeworks and group works are long, but they help you learn. Overall you will do a lot of work in the class, but it's worth it to have such an amazing professor.
Angela has been one of my favorite professors at UMD. She's super caring and does an amazing job at getting her students to understand the content and succeed. Even when I had some tough personal matters come up she was super understanding and did everything she could to work with me. 100% recommend her.
This instructor is a very helpful person. She helped me out of a procrastination hole I dug for myself throughout the semester. Her lectures are really good and she posts all of them online for those who can't make it in person. She goes above and beyond to include everyone and to help as many people as she can. Calculus is hard, but she will help.
Angela was a fantastic professor! If you are relatively familiar with math/calc, I highly suggest the online format. Each week had 3 lecture vids, 3 post-lecture assignments, group work, a quiz, and corresponding homework. Angela has clear expectations and they supplement your learning greatly. If you commit to the process, you will succeed!
Her lectures go thru the concept is and then she works thru examples. Discussion is group work and quizzes once a week. Exams reflected the quizzes and the homework. She truly is the best professor I have ever had. There was always an accessible resource for help.
Angela is extremely accommodating to her students and is willing to work with you outsid
I really enjoyed Angela as a professor. Calculus is a hard topic in general, but her lectures are pretty easy to keep up with and understand, even if they're online. She is really lenient with extensions, and is very obviously caring about her students, wanting them to do their best. Her grading criteria is clear and easy to understand also.
Angela was without a doubt one of the best professors I've ever had. She truly cares about her students, and is clearly passionate about what she teaches. As for the course, Calc 2 can be hard, but Angela makes it easy to understand. Group work and quizzes each week in discussion, and lectures can be watched online or via zoom if you can't make it.
Super great professor to learn from, lectures are posted online if you miss a class, homework is really light if you understand the material otherwise there's tons of extra practice. Angela genuinely wants to see you succeed and really cares for students, I was pretty quiet in her class and every time I asked a question she would address me by name
This teacher has really good ratings for higher level maths - I recommend if you are not proficient in math that you really look at the professors before-hand because Angela was difficult to work with in my opinion. Majority of class was a "teach yourself" style. Also not super understanding for accommodations? She is nice though.
