She was nice but I hated the volunteer stuff? It had nothing to do with english which is what I signed up for. Overall she was sweet and doesn't grade too badly.

Very nice Teacher. She is professional and there for you to explain where you stand in in the classroom. I was very horrible in writing essays but she made it clear and now I am improving a lot. If I could, I would take her again because she is very kind to her students, you can tell she enjoys teaching.

Boring class but she is very nice. As long as you do your assignments you will get an A. 3 paper and a few online posts. One of the papers is a research essay that is fairly long however she does guid you and tells you exactly what to write about. You won't need the book if you can find the readings online and print them out. Take her she is great.

The one thing I love about her is that she is so helpful, she reads your essays and then tells you what to fix. At first, my essays were terrible and then they got so much better because of her. Every week will either consist of a discussion post or a quiz. Other than that, ENC 1101 was great! I'm excited to take her for ENC 1102! :)

I took her 1101 class in FA/15 and she was an awesome professor! I have health problems and was missing classes towards the end of semester, I was a M/W student but she let me sub her T/TH class so I didn't fall behind & have my grade slip. She also gives great feedback my writing has gotten way better. I knew I wanted to take her 1102 class too.

ENC 1102 was way less work that ENC 1101. 4 papers and also 10 volunteer hours required. She is very sweet and helpful. The very best, I would recommend her!! I'm sad that I can't take her classes anymore! Not only did she make my first year of college amazing but she also helped me improve my writing tremendously. Text book is used to read poems.

If you take the class with a service learning component, you have to do community service with animals. As long as you do your work, you'll get an A. She's a great professor and will answer any questions you have.

Professor Tartaglia is a wonderful person. She is so sweet and extremely helpful, I really wish I could take her for ENC 1102 but I won't be at that campus for Spring 2017 sadly. Only 4 essays, which I received 2 A's and 2 B's on because when she receives your rough draft she actually takes her time to help you witt what you need. Recommend her!!!!

Professor Tartaglia is very nice and understanding

She is very lenient on he grading of papers, you get a lot of grades for rough draft and quizzes on readings in class, the quizzes are online you can refer to the text (easy 100). At the beginning of the course she had us do a "project" that takes like 30 minutes to throw together for an easy A. She is anal about attendance but not unforgiving.

Ms. Tart-Tart is just wonderful! She is caring, fun and ALWAYS available to talk about your paper. I recommend anyone taking ENG Comp I&II to enroll with this professor! You will be glad you did:)

Professor Tartaglia truly cares about student success. I took all my essays in for feedback, which helped my writing improve immensely. Her service learning class was great! I recommend everyone to take it. The volunteering was really fun and a great way to make friends in class. An A is easily obtainable if you try.

Tartaglia is a great English teacher for those just starting at this school! Her prompts are interesting, she grades fairly, and her lectures aren't boring. She recommends you using the textbook, but I never needed it. If you take one of her service learning classes, I would make sure to have a community service place lined up before the due dates.

I took professor Tartaglia this semester which is fall 2017 ... I've taken English composition before but no one reaches her level of expertise ... and it's not that only honestly her classes are fun and if you go talk to her about ur essay before she will give you amazing feedback ... if you want an easy A and you want to learn TAKE HERRRR !!!

L.A.) You have too do 10 hours of Community Service to get 12% of the classes overall grade. I wouldn't show up, it's boring and un-needed to pass the class. Essays were around 1,200 words each, the things she teaches are boring.. You are usually in the computer lab, in class assignments are essay, 1 presentation. Finial Term essay an (A) voids it.

Great teacher. She takes attendance/participation for a grade so show up. Her paper topics are easy and fun and she grades them fairly. I got an A on each one. She does a lot of group work in class so its not boring. Shes a very sweet professor and very kind. There is no exam instead you volunteer anywhere for 10 hours and present it.

Professor Tartaglia is one of my favorite teachers i've ever had. She is very caring and it shows that she likes what she does. There are 5 papers and each is different but she allows for creativity. I will be taking her 1102 class, that's how good she is!

She's a very sweet women, she'll go out of her way for anyone. She does require community service ( i think 10 hours) so if you have a job/kids this probably isn't the best suit. A pro to the community service, it went on my resume. overall i got a B in the class, but I went to the writing center for all papers, her after class etc.

There are a total of 4 essays in the class. She is soft-spoken and kind but clear on what she wants. She is willing to work with you during office hours She gives specific feedback during her conference days (definitely show up on those days.) I didn't have an issue writing the essays because AP Lit in High School helped me but they're not hard.

Prof. Tartaglia is the NICEST teacher I've taken so far. There are 4 essays and a final exam essay which she gives more than enough time to complete. I won't lie, her class can get a bit boring at times, but she tries her best to make class engaging and its an easy A. I will DEFINITELY be taking her for 1102.

Professor Tartaglia was a great English professor although there was a good amount of homework but not hard homework at all. As for essays, there was 3 essay that was 600 words and 1 research paper that was a 1000 words. Also, you get to volunteer for 10 hours instead of taking a final.

She was an excellent professor. She gives out extra credit opportunities. She is sweet and funny. I took her for both ENC 1101 and 1102.I got A's both times. In ENC 1102 during the spring you have to do 10 hours of community service. It is in replace of writing a final paper in her class. I thought community service was better than a long essay.

If you're debating on whether or not to take professor Tartaglia, I HIGHLY recommend that you do! She is the most sweetest, caring Professor ever! You have 4 essays in this class. She gives amazing feedback and wants you to do better and pass. It was my first year in college & she made English so easy for me. So thankful for this professor!

Best teacher at HCC

I LOVED taking her! I was scared of 1102 because my 1101 professor was a nightmare but Tartaglia is so caring&funny. Her class was so fun and it made me find a new love for writing. I would take her again with no hesitation. She makes writing a paper easy to do with her advice. Gives lots of time to write papers&is clear on what she is looking for.

Professor Tartaglia was the best. I definitely wish that I had taken her class for ENC 1101. Not only is her class enjoyable, but the essays and assigned reading (which there's not much of) was fun.

She is very nice and is the best teacher. She makes the class very interesting and she is very nice. Everything is very understandable and is able to work with you if you are struggling.

She made time to help fix every paper before they were turned in, and I found her grading to be extremely fair. Anytime she gave a pop quiz she always let everyone know ahead of time, and was also lenient on the online quiz due dates. She genuinely cares about all her students and is willing to work with you. I highly recommend taking her class!

I took her in both ENC 1101 and 1102. She's really good at teaching and always gives feedback if you need help. Her essay criteria are straight-forward and it isn't hard at all. She gives pop-quizzes sometimes but they are easy if you pay attention. She's also very understanding if you are struggling with turning the papers.

Her class was overall easy. We had a total of 4 papers but she changed it to 3 due to COVID. We read a few short stories and poems from the textbook and there would be easy quizzes sometimes. This class also requires service learning hours, along with a presentation. She's really nice and can extend deadlines if needed. Highly recommend!

The class was amazing. Due to the COVID-19, she was very lenient with homework and due dates. There is a total of 4 essays but brought it down to 3 due to the pandemic. The textbook was used a few times but not heavy usage on it. She cares for her students and helps anyone if needed. I would really recommend her!!!

I took this class fully online with no live meetings. Professor Tartaglia is certainly on the eccentric side, which only adds to her charm. I took this class 4 years after completing the perquisite class, however the class assignments are well spaced out and I had no problems.

Angela Tartaglia has been a great influence on my academic's. The last time I was in college was in 2006 and as a 40 year old going back to school, she has reinforced my confidence in continuing my education. I have even considered taking her Literature Course despite it not being in my degree requirements.

Prof Tartaglia truly cares about her students. Her assignments are meaningful and she also gives great feedback on the larger assignments/essays. Her course is extremely well organized, and it is clear what you are supposed to be doing. Her workload is manageable and some quizzes are allowed to be submitted past the due date. Definitely recommend!

She takes time for each of us individually to help/correct us on our essays. We mainly have essays in her class, so be sure to use the Writing Center a lot. One of the best professors I had so far, Took ENC 1101 and ENC 1102 with her. I was in an honors course and thought it would be harder but I never felt heavy about it. She made sure to know her students and recognize us outside class, she is the best! She know about our interests and make her lectures to match that. Never had a bad class with her

She is very caring and a good professor overall, I took her honors class and it was a delight. I had to do 2 essays and 1 group project. She has quizzes, but if you study should be fine. I would definitely recommend her class.

She's absolutely amazing. You shouldn't get anything lower than a "B" in her class. She's super kind and is always open to help. Most of the class revolves around writing essays. She's not really a hard grader and she gives good feedback. I WOULD 100000000% take her again.

As someone whos always struggled with English I found this class pretty easy and enjoyable. We had four essays (most of the grade) and a few really simple quizzes. She was always available to help edit essays and give feedback, you shouldn't get anything under a B on any given essay if you go see her at least once.

She is definitely the best prof ever. I took her Honors class. Quizzes based on readings (easy), essay, movie discussions in class and some projects that were very fun and she is clear on rubric. Passionate for students and easy grading. She prefers face meetings on campus. A few pop quizzes early in the semester, but easy to get perfect grade. Plenty of time to work on essays, she makes appointments on computer lab for students and presentations. Toward the end of the semester, need a writing center appointment for the final essay.

Some quizzes at the beginning were very easy, and there were four essays in the entire semester. It will be easy to get an A as your final grade.

Professor Tartaglia was a fantastic professor, her class is not just essays, but rather small steps each time to get to the essay. She walks you through what you need to do, and you even make a draft,t which you show her to improve. Finally, your essay will always be at least 80. She makes the class very fun and engaging. I would take her again!
