Statistics is NOT an easy class, but Angela Makes it as easy as it can possibly be. Be ready for hard work, but a nice professior who provides you with lecture notes REALLY HELPS
Learned so much! She grades on a curve. Excellent teacher. Takes attendance. Tests from homework... do the homework & you'll have an EASY time.
Fantastic teacher. Will explain and go over any material.Do the homework...Get an A.
Are yu ppl kiddin me?? she is sooooo damn confusing!! shes a nice lady but sux as a teacher!!!
Great teacher. Very rare to run into a teacher that knows her stuff and actually teaches it well. Puts everything into lamans terms. Very highly recommend for those ppl who don't do well in math!
knows how to explain on the most basic level
great teacher
She is an awesome professor!! I've never met a professor who teaches so well. The exam questions come straight out of the review section in the back of each chapter, so the exams are easy. She doesn't take attendance and homework is encouraged but is not required to turn in. I highly recommend her!!
I was confused the whole time, and i had to drop the class, the tests are multiple choice but it doesnt help, if you dont get math, dont take this class with her
WHAT THE HELL WAS GOING ON IN THAT CLASS
Good instructor. Fair. Doesn't give away grades- makes you earn them
A very good teacher. Homework is optional but neccessary. She doesn't give anything away, but is fair. She made a tough subject understandable and made it possible for me to get a good grade in the class. Tests are difficult.
tought but fair. knows what shes talking about. doesnt really teach a lot but makes students teach. tests are based on what you learn and arent especially hard or easy. if your good at math this class will be a breeze but the groupwork sucks, if ur bad at math then she will make it understandable.. homework is painfully long though
She really cares, takes the time, & does not require homework to be turned in. The class offers an awesome foundation for all other math classes to build upon!
Seriously one of the worst math teachers ever!!! Gets annoyed when questions are asked and is not helpful at all!!
Best math teacher I have ever had
don't kno what the sad face ppl r talkin about. she is a good teacher...makes herself available to help you in class...outside of class.... gives you packets for your notes so everythin is ez 2 follow... has sense of humor...tests r hard but u r prepared 4 them...i would take her again 4 any other math class
I loved taking her class. She made more sense than any other math teachers I've had. Take her class if you're having problems understanding math!
Awesome teacher. I absolutely hate math and I enjoyed her class. Lots of tests but as long as you keep up in class and do the little test at the end of each section you should be good. She's very clear and writes every definition down which is very helpful. No HM. Wish she was teaching Algebra 1.
She is a great teacher and willing and available to help you after/before class and on the phone! I had math phobia, but not after having her class! I am an adult, returning student and she gave me confidence to continue on.
The best math teacher. She gives you a road map that you can use on the tests which really helps to guide you to which formula you should be using. Extremally patient and helpful if you struggle with math like I do. Although avoid buying the book. You only use it a couple of times so its better just to use the one in the library.
great teacher!
She really is a nice lady..can be moody at times. Her tests are not easy but if you can learn from her teaching style and ur right on point. I personaly dont do well w her style. She gives you a packet so you dont need to write anything down, just kinda fill in the blanks but if you learn from writing things down and using the book..dont take her
Every person that says she's hard is hi! She repeats the material as long as someone is unclear, but no one can read minds, so speak up! Don't buy the book but go to class if you want an easy A. Some thinking is required, but it's math, so use common sense. You can't sleep in a math class. Overall, definitely recommended if you want a great class.
Wilkins is really great. She is very clear and willing to help. She never makes you feel dumb for asking questions and she tells funny jokes that keep the class entertaining. Stats is a hard class, and she makes is bearable!
Tuff class. She teaches in circles and isnt very clear. She will teach you one thing then confuse you by telling a more difficult way to figure it out. shes a nice lady but class sucked.
Very nice teacher. She is EXTREMELY helpful. She even gives you her home phone number to call if you get stuck on you homework. She goes through everything very carefully and will help you as much as possible. Class has 10 tests and then the final which counts as 2 tests. She drops your lowest test score. A+ teacher!
Angela is the BOMB! Math is as easy as breathing to her and therefor she knows how to explain it to you , so that you "get it" too. She opened a new world to me and I loved her class! She has a nice sense of humor too and really WANTS her students to do well. She makes herself available to you even after hours. Lots of extra credits too!Great Class
probably the best math teacher ive had. take her class. super clear, no textbook. she pretty funny no class isnt a complete bore. her roadmap is a savior, and she is really willing to help you with anything.
though i did not care for her know it all personality,i foudn her class to be pretty okay. no book, five tests that progressively get harder (its all cumulative), random hw that is very small and easy. She is one of the better prof. ive had becuase she is so willing to help and give of her own time. if your not math savy the class is tough.
TAKE HER! TAKE HER! TAKE HER! Angela was one of the most HELPFUL, CHARISMATIC, and NICEST teachers i have ever had. She gives you all the material that you need and she EXPLAINS IT PERFECTLY. She helps you out no matter what and she knows that if you tried really hard she will give you a good grade. i highly recommend her for anyone taking stats!
She is a good teacher. Gives you all the things you need to pass this class. Textbook is not used much. Test are hard but its a hard math class. Not her fault. But she will help you out if you struggle with the class. Dosn't grade hw so no need to do it even though doing the hw will help you out. Good personality, keeps you awake and interested.
:'( THIS WAS HORRIBLE! I WAS IN EXCRUCIATING PAIN THE WHOLE TIME! IT MADE NO SENSE BEACUSE IT WAS NOT TAUGHT PROPERLY! I GOT MIGRAINES DAILY FROM HER CLASS! I WISH ID TAKEN A DIFFERENT STATS TEACHER- ANY OTHER STATS TEACHER BUT HER. THIS CLASS=DEATH
ONE OF THE BEST TEACHERS I'VE EVER HAD. Class is REALLY hard. It's all about logic. I'm terrible at math but did well in this class because it's not about math, it's all about logic. No book, she gives note packets that have everything you need. Just go to class every day and ask questions when you are confused and you'll get an A.
Teaches you statistics so that it is understandable. Learn her roadmap as it created specifically to help make the subject more simplified and understandable. Roadmap will save you. Go to class, do the homework and memorize the roadmap and you will do great. Very helpful and approachable. You can tell that she is interested in students success.
Very good teacher. I am awful at math, and I passed with a C. Tries to make it as easy as possible, which really helps. Tests are funky; they're either really easy, or extremely difficult. Gives random quizzes on random days, so be sure to attend class. I had to class from 10:00 AM-12:15 PM, but we never really stayed past 11:30 AM. I liked her!
TAKE this teacher. I haven't been in a math class in 30 years, and I had been a B/C student in math, but I jumped straight into this class based on her good ratings. I got an A in her class. One of the best math teachers I've had. Just SHOW UP EVERY Day and do the homework (even though you don't have to turn in) and you'll do great.
She goes WAYYY to fast. She leaves you in the dust. She goes so fast, if you miss 1 day just drop. She covers every chapter.. I would take somone else
Wilkins is the best teacher! I took her over summer but she was super helpful and explains things in different ways so everyone understands. She uses a flowchart for her tests of all the formulas which is EXTREMELY helpful. She has a great attitude, don't take this class with anyone else!
Very nice teacher, offered help to me when I asked. Very clear with material, and even prints out her own notes for you to follow along with in class. Didn't really use the textbook at all, which seemed like a waste of money, but she made my worst subject (math) into something that was pretty bearable.
Wilkins is a really great teacher! You never use the book, but instead she gives you packets of work. Attending class is pretty much mandatory because she goes pretty quickly through material and fills in notes through the packets. This class IS difficult though, so ask for help if you need it!
Terrible teacher. Failed her class with a low F. teaches only out of study guides which are nothing like her tests. Tests cover multiple chapter. Cold cold woman who kills any desire to learn. Unless your a Math major and this stuff just comes naturally to you avoid avoid avoid this class at all costs
I have failed every math class I've ever taken, and have never been able to grasp algebra. Angela Wilkins is an extraordinary instructor. She explains every section very well, and is available to help when you ask. You do need to put in an effort since the homework is optional, but it's the only way you'll pass her tests. DO IT.
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE!!!!!!! I am an A student and I got an F in her class and I did ALL the homework (even though you don't turn it in) received tutoring, did good on the quizes, but didn't do very well on the exams. I will say she is helpful, but she has no compassion for you. If you dont get it..your getting an F!!
Unless you are naturally gifted in math, DO NOT TAKE HER! MOVES extremely fast. If the bus leaves the station she will not come back for you.
Do not take! stayy farr farr away! Everything is based on your exam score in this class. if you dont do well on the exams-you will fail this class. you have been warned.
Best Math Teacher I have ever had. I'm not at all a math person but did great in the class. She explains everything in detail and always helps if you have a question or need a little extra help. Tests are 99% of your grade... so you need to attend class and do the homework to fully understand the material.
I took this professor durin summer 8 week course!Dont miss attendance, if do can makeup in her other later classes. No textbook was required since she went by the printouts she gave out, the printouts covered each chapter & were very well organized! Study guides exactly as Tests! Quizzes easy, gave extra credit paper. Wud def take her again!
Angela is a gifted teacher. She's funny, kind and patient and makes stats interesting, if that's possible. We could text her with questions. She moves fast and her tests and quizzes will make you sweat. She offers extra credit opportunities in case you bomb a test. Homework is optional but study if you want to succeed. Again, she's funny.
Angela is really amazing. Her dry sense of humor is hilarious and I actually look forward to class. Tests, however, can be outrageously difficult. I got an A on my first exam but it's gone downhill from there. Still have my final left and am working beyond hard to get at least a C on it. Angela will undoubtedly will be there to help though!
Her lectures are so clear and easy to understand. Statistics as a subject itself is either you understand it or not, I was lucky to have understood it. Wilkins definitely made it easy to understand. 3 tests and a final all cumulative, but all the ideas are so repetitive that its easy to understand. Homework helps to clarify certain topics.
Statistics is nowhere an easy subject but she makes it 100x harder and she is not helpful. she is a par-time prof. so she doesn't have office hours but she provides her phone number but doesn't even help when you text her. overall grade consists of 4 test and quizzes and each exam is cumulative. would not recommend this teacher
Lectures are very clear and she explains the material very well. Your grade is based solely on 3 tests and a final, but she does drop your lowest test grade. Don't bother buying the textbook because we never used it. Tests are based only on her notes and it's very helpful if you print them out before class.
If you go to class everyday and do the homework (optional) you will pass with an A. Miss a day you might as well Drop the class a$ap rocky because she goes really fast! You've been warned. A lot of info.
Professor Wilkins definitely qualifies as being one of my favorite professors at Moorpark College. She is very passionate about what she teaches and encourages students to find some connection to it as well. The summer class was extremely fast pace and definitely required a ton of outside practicereview, but it's totally worth it!
She's one of the best math teacher I've ever had. She does teach well and she makes the lectures interesting. I highly recommended her class.
Definitely one of my favorite professors of all time. She makes class interesting and easy to understand. If you have questions, she does her best to answer them. She truly cares for her students and roots for them to pass. Tests are very straightforward, if you get the material you will pass with an A. I'm not a math person, but I did just fine.
Overall subject is not a east one. Only has 4 test, you get to drop one and it'll be replace with your best test score. Class is fast. If you miss one you will fall behind. Lots of new subject every class. Be ready to study a lot. Porf. however is super kind, and wants the best for her students. Loves to answer questions and is super helpful.
Very clear and helpful. She takes her time to make sure all students understand the material. Don't be afraid to ask questions! Recommend printing out the notes to follow along and fill out during lectures.
Course starts off slow, but picks up extremely fast and by the end you are being crammed with completely new material each day you're there. She knows her stuff and is there to help if you need it.
Professor Wilkins isn't the best option. There are plenty of other stats teachers who are a whole lot easier and better than her. The final study guide consisted of 4 questions when the final was 25 Q's. There are way better options than taking her. Not a easy class or the best teacher. Avoid!!!
Though I've always been decent at math, statistics has always intimidated me. However, if statistics is your downfall, take it with Professor Wilkins. She knows what she is talking about. The class consists of fill in the blank notes, lectures, and 4 tests, including the final. Simple as that. She is kind, has a sense of humor, and overall, cares.
Professor Wilkins is amazing! Stats in general is a tough class but she makes it understandable. She gives you fill in the blank notes and study guides and she is always happy to answer questions. There are 3 tests and a final and if you bomb a test, you're final will replace that grade which totally saved me. Awesome teacher who actually cares.
I enjoy math that has meaning and normally comes naturally. That being said this professor was amazing. Everything was so clear in class and if it wasn't she will literally break it down piece by piece and explain why we do this here and that there. I loves the way she graded the test. Shes fair but sometimes there are key words you need. Recommend
Professor Wilkins was incredible. She clearly has a deep understanding of statistics and knows how to teach it well. I left every lecture understanding everything that we had been taught that day. She is very friendly and happy to help students. Oh, and she's hilarious. She had us cracking up all class. I wish I had more teachers like her!
Angie made statistics so easy. She explained everything extremely well and was always willing to explain again if you didn't understand what she was teaching. She was very clear what she would grade on and exactly how you should show your work and the tests were very clear. She offers extra credit as well and makes getting an A very easy!
Hate math but love Angie! Maths hard for me but with her teaching and her clear test expectations I earned a B. Angie is a great professor, speak up if you need help and she'll re-explain for you. Took the summer class & didn't need the textbook. Do the test review & you can get an A without doing homework. 10/10 recommend stats with Ang.
You really have to put in a lot of effort to pass her classes but she helps you do so. She is very strict on attendance and will drop you if you miss too many classes. Homework for stats was optional and for M03 was required but it helped SO much. worth it if you are willing to go the extra mile with your work.
Great teacher. Tests can be a little tricky. Took this over summer. Highly recommend any semester. She is willing to help you if you tell her you need it.
amazing teacher! She teaches the material very well. The exams are based on the study guide so make sure you do it! Homework is optional. Overall great teacher.
Very tought class if you arent prepared. Don't buy the book if you arent going to do the ungraded homework (optional for practice only). Very test heavy, if you miss a class its gonna hurt.
Really hadnt known how terrible my past math teachers had been until I took her. Angela had a great method of teaching, lots of practical knowledge, and a clear passion about Stats. She lectures a lot, but talks clearly enough about what she teaches that practice really isnt necessarily as important as simply paying attention. I enjoyed that.
If you're in need of a statistics class, take this professor! I felt she offered real world examples, and her tests reflected her practice problems pretty accurately. She actually made the material interesting and she was hilarious. I took statistics in high school and found this class to be a breeze. People struggle if they don't ask questions.
Makes the class way harder than it should be stay away please!
I am beyond awful at statistics. I needed this class to transfer and was on my last try. This was a painful class, but I truly believe that I only passed it because of Prof. Wilkins. She is patient, will take the extra time to explain things, and if you put in the effort, she notices it. Go see her after class! It will help!
Always sucked at math and took this class so I would be better in M05. Very intelligent, funny, and good at teaching. Do the homework, go to lectures, ask questions. The final is 100% past test questions so stay for the test reviews. Questions from practice tests usually end up on tests. Work hard and understand the material and you will be fine
Prof. Wilkins is amazing! She is very good at explaining difficult concepts, and truly helps you understand. Always open to questions and happy to answer. Very caring and understanding. Really has her students best interests at heart. Would definitely take again!
I took Professor Wilkins last semester and it was a breeze! She is very helpful and cares for her students! She makes her own notes and allows you to print them out at home and she fills the blanks through out lecture. This class is a math class and highest failed class at moorpark so you have to hustle but she is a fantastic teacher!
Cons: lets evening classes out early 30 mins every class lost instructional time. Not accessible outside of class, does not allow for questions during class, changes class structure throughout semester. Pros: tests are not too hard, credit for homework, extra credit offered, final is EXACT problems from previous tests, so keep all your old tests!
Took her 6 week Stats-class over the summer. Clear criteria & grading. Textbook not required but advised, homework not mandatory, lecture notes are heavy. The tests are not open note, but she drops the lowest exam. The final can count as it's own grade and replace a missed exam. Also, she likes to walk barefoot around class. Study and you'll pass.
She is an amazing teacher lectures are quite long. Make sure to pay attention and write down the notes it helps very much. She gives homework but doesnt grade it, it just extra help for you so you can get better. The final is exact questions from the tests so save them and study and you will do amazing. She will explain herself again if you ask.
Professor Wilkins was a terrible experience for me, she made lectures so much longer and harder than it needed to be, study guide and quizzes did not match. When you ask for help she doesn't give it.
I love her class. She will crack jokes but keeps it serious and moving. If you put in the work she will make sure you succeed.
DO NOT TAKE Prof Wilkins for Calc 1. During a 4 week-long online course she only gave us notes for 4/30 sections. Every week the class was formatted differently, she didn't grade our 1st concept check until the last day of class, ignored my emails asking for help. Only take her if you feel comfortable FULLY teaching yourself. She will not teach you
Don't take this class online. I normally do well in Math classes. I got a B in advanced Calc and I do math for a living. This intro class was ridiculous. Did really well on the homework, read the text, etc. Tests didn't match the HW. Took forever to post to the test keys, would take the next test before the previous test answers were given.
Met her once, then never heard from her again, unless it was an announcement on canvas about tests. She had prerecorded lectures which never involved the textbook. Homework was easy, and reviews were fair, but tests were something else. Tests were nothing like the homework, similar to review but with lots of curve balls. Hard to learn anything.
The class consisted of a recorded 20 min lecture for every section of each chapter, 4 exams, and one final. Each exam had a review that was almost identical to the exam - other than a few curveballs. My only complaint was that she was hard to reach out of class, but when we did speak she was sweet, funny, and caring. I wish I had her in person.
great professor. Explains everything with details to we could comprehend. She gives extra points if you stay when she goes over the exams.
She's good at lecturing what she's planned: her lecture notes are helpful. This isn't always what appears in HW or tests. If you've a question and you're online, good luck. *IF* she responds, prepare for sarcasm, rudeness, and no real help. If her lectures covered what's on HW and exams and she was available, she'd score higher.
She provides study guides that are very similar to the exams, which is super helpful. She's a kind professor and is always willing to set up office hours if you need help. She also responds quickly to emails which is crucial for online classes. Overall if you do the homework and study guides you should do well.
If you want a stats class with 3-4 homework assignments due a day, her class is for you. This is literally the worst class I've ever taken and she has ridiculously high standards. There is almost no way to pass this unless you have zero life outside of School and a ton of time to study. 12/10 do not recommend.
Worst professor I have ever had!! She "lectures" by reading from notes that she's already filled out. She doesn't teach the material, just reads it to us. When contacted via email, she was very disrespectful and rude. She grades crazy tough. Do not take her!!!
She isn't that good for being an online professor. my advice is to steer clear from her online class as you won't gain much from them.
She isnt very useful, her lectures are essentially videos where she just reads through notes. She seems to give very cold email responses. Id steer clear from this professor as you wont gain much with her.
My experience withe her was good. Lectures were clear and not dull. I forgot the name of the platform; it was bad but algebra is easy. Tests were not too hard either. Friendly, responded quickly and always seemed to care for what I had to say.
a fairly decent amount of homework, tests every few chapters, attendance is mandatory for credit. her lectures are very informative and at a manageable pace. she understands her subject well and welcomes questions. lectures and filled in notes are all online so reviewing material is easy. not an easy grade
Professor Wilkins will go the extra mile if you're putting in the effort. Long breaks and gives worksheets you print for notes. I could've got by without the book. If you're going to need to beg for that C though, then you better get the book and do the homework (optional but necessary). Engage and do HW if you're lost, she'll match your effort.
I thought she was great and I learned a lot, but I am a math person so it is easier for me to grasp concepts. She is very nice though and I would recommend going to the lectures rather than watching them online because it is much clearer and easier to follow.
I have taken Professor Wilkins for STATS, and now I am taking her for Algebra. She is very nice and will match your effort She posts a copy of the notes for you to fill in during her lectures She gives a study guide before every test, which is identical to the actual test She doesn't post the notes online so you must copy it down in class 7/10
Professor Wilkins expects a lot, but she'll go the extra mile if you put in the effort. The HW is heavy, but using resources like Unstuckstudy can help. Engage with the material and she'll match your hustle.
This is about M12 not M11. Wilkins has done nothing about the disruptive student in our class. Expects us to have the time/resources to print our own worksheets. Was not clear on an assignment and then blamed failure by 50% of the class on our supposed lack of paying attention. If I hadn't recently taken a very similar course I would be failing.
very good professor that clearly cares about the material and her students. you definitely should avoid missing this class, but there are resources online that you can use if you do. also, the test reviews are much more helpful to study with than the homework so make sure to do them. studying will be your best friend in this class.
made a racist comment, gave an incorrect statistic which lead into a long rant that veered on the edge of alt-right rhetoric. doesn't know how to organize her online work, it often includes material that we never went over. you have to care more about learning than she cares about teaching to get an A or B.
I have never hated a subject more than I have statistics. Wilkins is a nice enough teacher, but a super tough grader, who makes the exams worth most of the grade, and really only reads her prewritten notes, doesn't teach much. Unless you have a decent and good understanding of Statistics, I would not take her class.
She does her homework on Pearson and we had to do 3 projects. One project was clear, simple and easy. The last 2 projects were much more difficult and one project I wish had more clear grading criteria. She seems sweet but this class was a lot of effort.
For me the lectures were not the most helpful. She does send videos on some assignments explaining mistakes which I appreciate. No extra credit, no dropping of worst scores. She is very meticulous on grading. Not bad, you can get a A if you really apply yourself. However to me Statistics was not a priority.
Lectures aren't great. Homework isn't really reflective of the work expected on exams. Moved the final up 3 days because 4 people out of 32 asked her to. Overall, easy class.
Mrs Wilkins seems to be very nice but when it comes to the tests we have 1 hour and 45 minutes to print it do the work and then scan it in, honestly has been super hard since I don't own a printer so the one I use it prints pretty slow….. I only got the grade I did because some things were late and she wouldn't grade them.
I didn't like the class, it could be bc my class didnt know what was happening half the time, a quiet class all the time and no one really respected her. she was just there to teach and is difficult to make a connection with. slightly heavy grader, got 40pts off for writing 10 sentences instead of 2 paragraphs. (even tho it said 10 sent or 2 para)
Mrs. Wilkins is a good professor, but you've got to be prepared to do a LOT of studying on your own. She uploads recorded lectures online that are pretty helpful and there's review packets that reflect the tests which assist with studying. You NEED to have a calculator unless you want to spend a long time solving lengthy equations.
