Somewhat **** and unwilling to listen to others opinions. Cocky. Heavy workload for number of credits. Knowledgable but should teach something not as sensitive as intercultural communications.
Be prepared to work your *ss off and still get a crappy grade. Helps if you are a minority; she goes easier on you. Grades arbitrarily and unfairly. If she doesnt' like you, the whole class will quickly know it. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE
Angela is very bold and it is very easy to pin point her views on subjects. It helps if you flirt with her, she obviously is lacking something. Be prepared to work on stupid group projects. AVOID!
Angela Wizner is incompetent! She plays favorites in class. Had to go to department head to get the grade I deserved. 97% of her class failed a quiz, and she chewed us out for our failure as students! Excuse me, 97% pretty well indicates a teaching failure. Ms. Wizner is single-handedly the greatest arguement for abolishing tenure!
Stay far, far away from this one.
She is the worst teacher I have EVER run across. I got a 4.0 only because of my persistence re:every single point. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!! Is unwilling to help students whom she does not like (not me, others) and assigns mundane and pointless group projects then refuses to help b/c you have to learn to communicate with each other & waste grades.
This class alone was lame. The homework was reading and stupid exercises. The vedios are a waste of time as well and students gradeing others is lame cause we cant remaind unibased. IF she didnt take attendence and give poitns for it no one would go.
Her class was the easiest thing I've ever taken. All you had to do was show up. I never read a single chapter, just skimmed for bold words and payed attention in class and did great on the tests. There were maybe like 10 assignments all quarter and then a group video project do at the end of the quarter. I got a 3.8 in that class with the least amount of effort I've ever given a class. I thought it was great!
It is funny that she teaches a communications class yet half the time you didnt understand what she was talking about. Students had to ask her to repeat somthing several times. The class seemed very worthless, she would set you at a task then leave. Teaching seemed like her last priority.
helped me alot; take it, she's cool.
Does not know how to communicate, even though it's supposed to be her specialty. You have to be very persistent. In my class we had to email a lot of assignments to her, and usually each one had to be sent 5 times because she "never got it"

One of the best at SCC
VERY helpful. Very awesome. She has taught me some useful stuff and i am so happy i had the pleasure to meet her. TAKE THIS CLASS!
Angela is probably the best speech teacher at this school. Yes, she is a tad loud, but that is what makes it fun! She wants you to do well! Take this class, it is extraordinary.
Did online class; week 1 instructions were a little unclear with how to do the turn ins. If you read the book its very easy becuase all your doing is taking stuff from book and evaluating your life. Has some interesting points in class, no complaints for the online class.
She's AWFUL! Easily one of the worst. Failures in getting information to her, but she still won't accept late papers. Can't ever get in contact with her after many calls and emails. Still have no idea what's going on with a couple of my assignments that were turned in on time. FIND SOMETHING ELSE TO TAKE!!
took her for intercultural communication 227. One of the better easier classes I have ever taken. scores well and fair, you can only fail this class if you never show up or study. tests are easy quizzes, are easy, nice teacher, i am not a 4.0 student ever but my grades in this class will be between a 3.5 to a 4.0, worth taking in another class also
i don't think she is the worst, but i really got nothing out of her class. having to buy her book was rediculous. we hardly used it at all. if she doesn't value what she has to say by using her book more, then what kind of value should her student put on what she has to say in class? If I ever had to take the class again, i would take it at SFCC
I loved her class. She is a very good educator, and I say educator because I feel there is a difference between that and a teacher. She loves what she does, you can tell. I would highly recommend her as a communications instructor.
Although I did get a good grade in the class I did not enjoy it. The book we had been forced to buy for her Intercultural Communications class she co-wrote and u only use 10/123 pages of.Communication was not one of her strong points either. On 1 test several questions were unclear. When StudentS spoke up about it she became very defensive and short
I liked the class. Everyone keeps talking about her book we had to buy its not like it was $100. I enjoyed this class she really gets into it and trys to get you into it. I learned a lot from her.
on line 227 very easy class i love it.
I'm pre-major Communication, and I was pretty jazzed to take her Interpersonal class. Well...it was just OK. HUGE group project worth more than half your points for the class, so if you get a bad group you know you won't do well. I made some good friends, but other than that, I was SUPER bored by her class.
Wizner is a great teacher, but couple her with Finney and they make an amazing duo. HIGHLY recommend their spring communications class!
Took online class. Easiest class I've ever taken. No lectures in the online format--all reading. The chapters are long--pace yourself--but the text was a super easy read. Assignments were also pretty easy and I thought she was an easy grader. Tests/ quizzes were short but had high point values. Very interesting and useful class!
Waste of a quarter! I am better off re-taking the class with a different professor because I learned squat! Not clear or helpful and also unfair if you have a different belief than she does. Overall, WASTED time and WASTED brain fuel! I do not recommend her.
Did not like her. I did not learn as much as I was hoping for. I was very excited to take the class, but now when I can, I'm going to take the class again with another professor.
Her and Finney are my favorite teachers by far at SCC. She actually cares about teaching unlike most of the teachers at the school. I really enjoyed being in her and Finneys joined class.
promises to "Fix" something & no intention of doing so.Your forced to work "Her" carnival for your final grade.Be prepared to color rainbows with crayons, spending money to decorate your booth and not be reimbursed, & if you are its not with belittlement.Don't disagree with her, your grade will reflect that disagreement.Find a different teacher
I took this class online and loved it. Her instructions are clear and easy to follow. The reading was a chaper a week with quiz and one weekly assignment. Super easy class for an online class. She didn't bog you down with ridiculous amounts of homework. I highly recommend this class to anyone.
I took this as an online class. I got a 4.0 but it definitely had to be worked for. If you read, study and stay involved you'll get an A, but it def takes effort. The books are a joke. The "ebooK" is more of a collection of work pages that have no real value and the other book seemed very disconnected. Teacher was nice and tried to be helpful.
Angela works hard to make sure her students get the grades they deserve. If you can't get along with this professor and pass her class then you have no right in attending college. Once you transfer to a four year college you will see how much most professors don't care.
She is very disrespectful. You can not ask her anything whe will just go off on you or tell you to look yourself. She is very unorganized. For a communication teacher she sucks at communication. I would never take her again. She is very rude. Alls I have to say is if you don't have to take her don't.
Easy A! Wizner is friendly, but professional. She helped to write the REQUIRED e-book, but we only use a couple worksheets out of it (money making for her). I received a 4.0 and did not work at the carnival. She had errors on exams, but she always corrects your grade. Did I learn anything? No, not really. Was it a pain in my butt? No, not at all.
Great professor. You will get out what you put in. Don't be a lazy student and you will get proper knowledge in return.
Really great class! I learned a lot about communication. Good balance of lectures, movies, and projects! She is passionate about the subject and passes it on to her students. She's funny too!
this was a very informative class, she kept you interested and she is very approachable!
Wizner is a great instructor. She truly cares about her students and has a big heart for each of them. The class was really fun, easy and outgoing. I would definitely recommend taking her classes!
Wizner is a great instructor. She truly cares about her students and has a big heart for each of them. The class was really fun, easy and outgoing. I would even retake the class if I could!
Wizner is a great instructor. Her class was easy, fun and beneficial. She is an instructor who cares about her students and has a big heart. I would definitely recommend her classes.
VERY vague on assignment descriptions. Always be sure to turn in assignments a few days early because she is GUARANTEED to leave a comment about what you "forgot" to include. That way you have time to fix it before due date. She's one of those "give me your opinion, but if it doesn't match mine I'm docking you points" teachers.
Her directions are very vague, must be a mind reader to know what she wants. Slow grader. Lots of group work. Was really looking forward to this class, was disappointed. Best part was the intercultural partners.
overall she herself is a nice person, but she's very confusing and does not like to explain things twice even if the first time she wasn't very clear. can get annoyed and frustrated with you quickly if you don't see what she's envisioning for how she wants something. somewhat unrealistic expectations. I don't mind her herself, just how she teaches
Angela will not teach you anything; you will honestly learn more from reading the book. I am an avid note-taker and I only had 7 pages of lecture by the end of the quarter. She will blabber on the whole period about stuff that doesn't even pertain to what you are learning. Seriously, take this class online because showing up everyday is a joke!
She does not explain assignments very well and don't ask questions twice. If you don't do things her way, it is the wrong way! If you have the option, take someone else.
If you are looking for a class where a 4.0 is achievable, I would not recommend this teacher. Her assignments are very vague and so is the feedback she gives. If you want to meet with her, her office hours are limited. She is available online; however, do not expect a quick response. She is nice, but not helpful. NO EXTRA CREDIT. 4.0 99%-100%
I enjoyed wizners class. There's lots of reading outside of class and random pop quizzes but I mean it's College what do you expect. Show up to class, study, and do your homework and you'll do great. She was very warm and friendly making it easy to talk to. She always brought food to class too!
Angela Wizner is probably one of the most encouraging professors I have ever taken. I took her online class and her feedback was great, she made it clear as to what she was expecting if you missed any points and she maintained a positive attitude in all of her correspondences. Read the assignments, the material is great and applicable to life.
Not only was this class a joke but Wizner is a joke as well. Her "textbook" and her materials are so fun of grammatical errors that it is ridiculous for a college level course and professor. The posted assignments for the online class are so vague and void of actual directions but then you get graded heavily on things that don't even make sense.
I took Prof Wizner's class online. She is respectful, and her instruction is consistent and organized. I was initially wary after reading some of the reviews on this site, but they were unfounded. You will read quite a bit in this class. If you have an open mind and spend the time to do the weekly assignments, it is not difficult to get an A or4.0
I just took her CMST 227 online class. The earlier reviews that said that the directions she gave on her assignments were very vague were very much founded and credible. She also had us buy a workbook that she was a co-author of and it was $80 (incredibly over priced). The class was easy, but her grading was very annoying.
I took her class and shes a good person, but her class is a joke. 3 tests the whole quarter straight out of the book, which were easy, but we will do the homework and she wont even have us turn it in. Very disorganized. Dont recommend her as a teacher. But, a very caring person (for minorities).
Easy A. Angela gives great feedback, but sometimes it's hard to gather what she is looking for with assignments. Tests have tricky questions meant to trip students up, so watch for that. Tests are extremely limited on time. Some assignments interesting, but still one of those classes that make you wonder why it's required for an unrelated degree.
Shes an awesome teacher, helps anyone whos is seeking for it. Alot of group projects though grades fairly. Recommend taking it!
great teacher, easy class. do your work and its an easy a
Angela is such an amazing and a caring person and she is very fun. Her class was fun but the only problem was the book that she had us purchase. It was very useless and full of grammatical errors. Other than that, she is a really nice person and I really enjoyed the class.
Instructor was fine and the curriculum was not difficult. This class is not too heavy with the social programming/propaganda as one might assume from the title and class description. Just keep an open mind and be willing to learn something new. Assignments are not really difficult but the tests are timed so preparation is necessary.
She is the best!!!
Prof Wizner had us do a lot of textbook reading, then you would quiz on that and your writing response assignments to videos, research and activities in the workbook you must purchase that she wrote for $75. She never once answered the questions I sent regarding my writing or questions about how her quizzes are worded. SHE didn't teach me ANYTHING.
Angela is a good professor. The work in her class is fairly easy; however, there is A LOT of reading. Be prepared to buy an expensive textbook that's mandatory for the class. I think her class would be easier taken on ground/ in class.
This was a very rewarding course that was presented well. The course materials were stimulating and made you ponder how it fits into your personal and profession life. I learned so much about other cultures. It left me wanting to learn more. Angela is very fair with her grading. She makes you earn your grade. Shes kind, caring, and approachable.
Avoid! She never replied to my emails which is crazy for an online class! All we did were silly assignments from the thin $75 handbook that she wrote and tests that had random questions taken from obscure places in the textbook. Frustrating class and professor. Learned nothing.
I took Wizners online intercultural communications class and would recommend not to take this teacher. I spend 6 hours each week studying for the weekly test and still only get low scores. Her test question relate nothing to the readings or powerpoints. I would not recommend this teacher.
This was a very rewarding course that was presented well. Be prepared for pop quizzes but she gives you hints on when she will have one! I learned so much about other cultures. It left me wanting to learn more. Angela is very fair with her grading. She makes you earn your grade. She's kind, caring, and approachable.
I would defiantly advise to stay away from this class. I got all A's besides in her class. The test are heavy, and have nothing to do with anything that are her power points. There's a quiz every week, and you have to read long chapters each week before the quiz. If you have questions you won't get a response for a few days, grading inconsistent.
There is one assignment and one test per week. You have to purchase 2 textbooks but you can get one on Amazon and the other from the book store. If you do good on your work and turn it in on time, you will do good in the online class.
The assignments were very straight forward and all it took was a little reading to pass.
i really liked how light the work load was. you read a chapter a week and have a weekly assignment that took me max an hour to finish. very easy but she is the toughest grader. she grades on scales of 10 so if you mess up just a little she will mark you down 10 points. ALWAYS cite the book and make sure your sentences are loooooong. tests are hard.
She is a nice person but her class is pointless. You read a chapter a week and then take a quiz every Friday. The quiz had absolutely nothing to do with the chapter and I had no idea how to answer any of the questions. She answers emails in 5 BUSINESS days and makes you sound dumb. I do not recommend this class as she makes you buy her book.
If you have a disability with reading or is slower paced levels, the book doesnt have a audio format. Be prepared to read a lot, especially since she does not provide a study guide each week to get a better understanding of what to be prepared for on exams every Friday. Also strong on not allowing late work. I would not recommend taking her class.
She is very sweet and kind I enjoyed her class a lot ! she is helpful and gets back to you very fast!! She is alwasy willing to help! Best teacher so sad she isnt teaching cmst 210
I learned so much in such little time, you only have one assignment a week, and one quiz. But they are really hard assignments. Although the are hard, professor Wizner is there to help you.
Not worth time, money, and effort ! She gave me a 0 on a h.w assignment claiming it wasn't "finished" I ask myself did she even read the paper ? I busted my butt reading these pointless chapters and got A's and B's on all tests, projects ! classes like this really, set people up for failure. Absolutely regret taking this dreadful class.
Super hard grader, it was like nothing was good enough. Lots of reading. She was super nice at least.
Angela Wizner's CMST 227 course is set up so you will learn a lot each week! There is a lot of reading and she expects thorough and thoughtful work completed on time. I felt that she introduced me to several new topics while in her class. Reading and writing intensive, week opens on Monday and closes on Friday.
Decent professor over all, pretty kind, doesn't allow late work. Requires a workbook that just has questions, but it's like a quarter inch thick and cost somewhere around $70 if I'm remembering correctly. Multiple choice quizzes weekly. Textbook is online, you actually need to read it.
I loved the material she gave for us to read and digest! Homework was not overwhelming, but I felt like I really grasped her material! Her feedback each week was encouraging and useful! I would love to take another class of hers again!
In Mrs. Wizners class if you read the chapers, watch the videos, answer all the questions and cite all your sources this will be an easy A. The chapters took me about 30 minutes to 1.5 hours. And the videos are around 30 min to an hour, but they are super interesting. The tests have everything from the readings and videos.
To pass: Read all the material and watch all the videos Answer all the questions and CITE she will take points off if you don't Tests are on videos and weekly chapters Other: Reading time weekly: 30 min-1.5 hrs Videos: 20 min-1 hr If you don't get a 100 she'll tell you what you got wrong or forgot. Weekly tests and assignments Questions? Just ask
The teacher went off of a textbook that she herself had helped write. Her views are very one sided and very frustrating to those of us who are open minded and see both sides. It was a extremely liberal class.
I would not recommend this teacher at all. If you have questions on an assignment & you try to email her, it will take her at least 3 days to respond. when she finally responds to you she tells you to go read the book & look at the instructions again. Her class is extremely liberal. The assignments are always opinionated towards what she believes.
If you are wanting a 4.0 don't go this route. I've been through many tough teachers and kept an A but this is my first time not being able to. Her test seem to be based off her opinions and she does no retakes and no extra credit. For your assignments you need to do more than she asks for to get an A.
