This class was easy! All you have to do is buy her notes from the bookstore, turn in your maps (colored for extra credit), and type her notes onto a single page for the test. Impossible to fail if you go to class!
GREAT geography. Isn't monotoned and has you color maps. Not a boring class and she always mixed class up so its not note taking everyday. BUY THE LECTURE NOTES!!
Very easy. She is a very nice teacher and all you have to do to get an A is go to class and put the entire study guide on the cheat sheet that she allows for every test, including the final...oh yea and color your maps all pretty for extra credit!
Pretty easy teacher. gives extra credit just for turning in work on time. lots of maps. can use cheat sheet on tests and final. overall, a nice teacher
easiest teacher i have had, but then again, it is an easy subject. buy her notes from the bookstore, turn your assignments in on time, make your 1 page f&b test notes thorough. all this will equal > 90%. happy trails.
Easy teacher, buy notes, turn in homework (on time), and make the notes she lets you use on tests and you're all set for an A.
Very easy teacher, provides powerpoints, very helpful, one page of notes on test
EasY A
The easiest class throughout my entire time in college. She is sooooooooo Easy I mean not easy like she'll give her body to you, but you know her class is sOoo easy. Like what all the other peeps said!!! Take this class It's FUN and EASy VERY VERY VERY EASY NO LIE!!!
Easy A class! Color maps for extra credit, allowed 1 (2-sided)page of notes for exams (mult. choice). Just copy beachboard notes to put on cheat sheet & there's no need to read the book. Definately an easy stress free class! Highly recommend.
very sweet teacher, easy class to take to get ge out of the way (and capstone course)
everyone is pretty much right on. you get a 2 sided piece of paper for notes on tests. dont take notes in class, just copy her powerpoints notes the day before the test. Easy A.
Wranic is a nice teacher! Lecture notes are on Beachboard! Lectures on notes during class. There are only three packets for the class and they are are due before the exam! 3 exams. Offers extra credit!

Easy class, but be sure to turn in complete packets containing the in-class and homework assignments because they could make a big difference in your grade.
She was really nice and the class was pretty easy. Just make sure to do all the packet work. Good class though
If you are not a good test taker then I don't think you should take this class. She lets you use 1 page for notes for your test.. but still I didn't like the class. SO DAMN BORING!!!
Well the class is pretty boring and her lectures don't help, but for me it's mostly the material that sucks. Oh well, easy A.
She goes super fast through the powerpoints, it is impossible to keep up, but she puts them on beachboard so thats a plus. Minimal work, fair tests and quizzes. Good GE, it counts for a global GE also.
rarely gives hw, quizzes, a few tests. very easy class and very sweet as a professor. download her powerpoints in beachboard and ur set for an a.
I learned a lot from this class, but it was really boring! The midterms are hard and are never on what she says they will be on, but she lets you have a notecard. There are map id quizzes that are really easy and there are also a few hw assignments and one project that really help to boost your grade. The slides of her trips are really interesting!
This is a very interesting class, and also is an easy "A", for all those interested. She goes through the powerpoints (that she posts at the beginning of the semester) before the tests and tells you EXACTLY what you need to know. If you pay attention and apply yourself AT ALL you will be fine.
super EASY, very BORING, but EASYYYYYYYYYYYYY like high schoool.
You don't need the text book. Just make sure you have an atlas or map handy and one you can mark all over. Attendance is not required, just don't miss the dates with assignments and quizes. She makes you turn in packets of work and grades them then, it's lazyness if you ask me.
Class is easy. Do her study guides that she has posted on beachboard. Don't need to read the book, but use it before the test to look up some of the essay question answers. Do the easy extra credit. Show up for class to do the packet work because that is lots of easy points to boost your grade. Remember, save the cheerleader, save the world...
Dry lectures but the class is pretty easy. Attendance isn't mandatory but you will lose some points for not showing up to do assignments on time. I choose to go to class half the time and lost maybe 12 points on late assignments which I made up with the 10 pt etc movie :) You get to bring notecard for each test (3 MC total). Take her.
Her class wasn't even that easy. Her tests were hard even though she gave Powerpoints on them. She's so boring. Can't teach. Lets u use 3 by 5 index card on test, but it won't help much on the test. I used it with font 4 & still couldn't pass all the test with A's. Her assignments are stupid since they're created by her. She grades suck. Easy B
I took her for 100 & 140. Great prof for easy GE classes. Classes are boring but she's nice. Lets you use notecards on tests (m/c). For the 140 class there is a short essay, but she gives the prompt in advance & you get a notecard for that too. All her powerpoints are up online. You have to be really lazy or dumb to not get an A or B in her class.
SOOO boring, I feel like I've learned nothing. The tests are actually pretty difficult, but the assignments and essay is easy.
Professor Wranic is a very passionate instructor who definitely loves her field. The class itself was easy (I took AP sciences in high school years ago and felt like I knew everything already) but it was still fun. It's important to show up, though, because there are in-class assignments that can be a great chance to boost your grade.
Such a sweet and nice lady. She has office hours and even virtual ones online. Class was straightforward and easy not that boring if you are interested in the subject. book is expensive though u can just buy the online one save money. test were m/c, in class essay not too difficult and you do online h.w which are maps. HIGHLY recommended
She teaches this class like it's the sixth grade. Which would be fine for an easy A, except the tests are much, much harder than any of the assignments. She seems like a nice lady, and I wish her well, but you should probably avoid her class.
She is very easy, her lectures are blunt and she teaches off power points. However, her exams are tough they are 70 MC and hard she does give you study guides, so if you study and really know them you can get an A. Easy class just do the work and get an A.
She's a very nice lady and she's really straight-forward with this class. If you even apply yourself at all, you're guaranteed to pass. Attendance is necessary b/c of hw packets, but they are very easy. She even lets you have an index card as a cheat sheet for exams.
i have her for lab, she is a nice professor and she is extremely hopeful. she grade ok on assianments not very easy and not very hard. In short, she is a good professor
She is a really sweet lady with corky sense of humor. You should attend class, because there are in-class homework assignments. There are 2 midterms and a final. None of the exams are cumulative, but are 100 MC, they were kind of lengthy. The class is really straight forward and enjoyable.
Professor Wranic is a kind. I didn't purchase the book and we didn't use it much. Her class is easy if you do all the work. Offers one extra credit assignment. Attendance is not mandatory, but you should still attend because there are in-class assignments at times. She posts study guides that you can review from. Her tests are lengthy but passable!
She's nice and her work is not that challenging at all
Attendance isn't mandatory, but she usually assigns in class assignments. Her lectures are a drag because she acts like she's talking to herself most of the time and not the students. If there is another option for this prereq, choose another teacher.
The in class assignments and group projects helped in learning the material. Really study for first two tests. Questions that you won't suspect will be on the test will be on there.
You don't need to go to class. She post the notes on beachboard. All you need to do is do the study guide. Also, i think the only time you need to go to class is when she goes over the study guide. she basically give you the answer so all you would need to do is memorizes the study guide and you will get an A
Take this professor!! She is an awesome, awesome, AWESOME lady. She is so helpful and I always like to ask her questions. The exams are easy if you study! Her class was the best class I had all semester!!
Dont bother with the book, her powerpoints are directly derived from them. 3 lecture exams, about 8 map quizzes, and a lot of assignments during class so you should go! LOOOONG study guides but they're helpful. I'd take an easier class.
Easy class. Map quiz every week and 3 exams. Powerpoints posted online that cover all the material and gives a study guide with exact questions that are on the exams. Does questions off movies during class so you kind of have to go to turn them in to get full credit. Pretty easy class just busy work and very repetitive
She's a doll.
Her lectures seemed boring at times, but she always tried her best to make it interesting. 2 midterms, 1 final (not cumulative), 1 project, and lots of in-class activities. Her tests are multiple choice and 4 short answer but she makes study guides. She let us do volunteer work for extra credit. Overall she's a really nice professor
She's a sweet lady! I was failing till almost the end cause I was lazy. For the final I did the study guide & Ace it. Pass with a B even when I fail the first two tests. My advice; go to class for the class assignments(easy points), do good on quizzes and DO THE STUDY GUIDES(all the answers are there) and you will get an A. Didn't buy the textbook.
Gives a couple of map quizzes and 3 tests with no cumulative final. Pretty easy course!
I took the hybrid course so we met only on Tuesdays, the rest of the work was online. In that class time, she would lecture for about 20 mins on the new chapter and then we would do activities on the etext. No need to buy the hardcopy book, everything is online. Her lectures were short and really did not explain much that actually ended up on exams
There were few online lectures uploaded randomly. You mostly learn from the book on your own. More lectures would have helped. Also the grading scale was skewed because it was online. It was kind of unfair in my opinion considering material wasn't really taught. If you put in the time you can pass this class.
More difficult than it should have been. You only have the exams and quizes to earn your grade. map quizzes, 3 exams consisting of 60 multiple choice questions and 3 essays each. NO STUDY GUIDE. Questions on exams very vague or random, anything learned in class.
Don't take her. She is a tough grader. Lots of weekly quizzes and homework. Lots of short essays. Presentation online required but had to do many slides and research for it. She gave everyone low grades for presentation and essays. She'll make your life hard. Required you to use textbook lot of reading. Don't take her she'll make your life hard.
AVOID THIS PROFESSOR LIKE THE PLAGUE! This professor lectures in circles and doesn't explain things well AT ALL. Poor! St
So I have a love hate thing for this professor. Her powerpoints are helpful but her lectures are so boring (hard to stay awake). She gives study guides but not really accurate to the tests. Essay portions in the the tests but pretty easy because she gives the essay questions to you ahead of time. Gives homework but really easy and the points help.
Great Professor.
Avoid her, pls! The class is so boring and tired. Go to class everyday just to listen to her mumbling off the slide. She didn't explain anything and her response to the class questions is just didn't make any senses. She drag the class energy down. Textbook REALLY HELP when come to the test. I learn from the textbook better than her note.
Kind of a lot of work for a 100 course. Weekly quizzes, online assgts, reading & videos. Exams are mix of MC & short essay. Nice professor but just felt like too much work for GE course. Grade scale is different too which isn't justified even for having the online "advantage". More work than I thought but still doable. Use quizlet and do readings!
She is very helpful when you email her, however I felt like I was fighting a losing battle in her class because an A is a 93 which is not really fair because you are teaching yourself the material. The group project was not so bad, but it can be hard to communicate with members in your group if you don't decide to meet in person.
Put in a little effort & it's easy if you just do everything that she assigns. Quizzes, exams, & small projects were easy. Bought the textbook, but never used it. To get an A, you need a 93%, people will say that's unfair, I didnt think so cause it was pretty easy and do-able. She'll lower it if the class doesnt do well on exams/quizzes.
She is passionate about the subject, but her class is so boring. The class is basically her just lecturing, and with a topic that is already boring, she doesn't make it any easier to stay awake during her lectures. It helps to read the text, for better understanding. Tests were fair. Miss class, and you would have missed a lot.
She's a really nice teacher but her class can be dull. The only reason you would actually need to attend class is because she gives out assignments and questions to answer that need to be turned in. Other than that, her lectures come straight out of the book, and i would suggest buying it (shes not that clear in her lectures). tests are okay.
Thought it was a pretty okay class. Each week she assigns you a chapter to read, 10-12 question quiz, and MasteringGeography assignments. There's a test after every 3 chapters completed. She lets you use your textbook when you're doing your quizzes and tests. There's only 1 biome group project, but it was easy if you contact your peeps via texting.
Way too much effort required for a 100-level GE course. Her grading scale is set at 93% and above for an A, 85-92 for a B, making it a C if you get 84 or lower. Multiple choice test questions/answers are poorly worded, short essays are the only chance to clearly earn points on exams. Weekly homework is easy but you do lose points for wrong answers
I mean she's cool but SOO boring, easy class to pass if you can manage to not die of boredom.
You pay for your own interactive e-book to be able to take the exams/quizzes which is normal for an online class but she has a ridiculous grading rubric! Having a grade of 84% counts as a C. And A's are only 93% and above. In my opinion, irrational.
Shes a very chill and calm teacher, showing us inspirational videos and doing the notes for us by doing lectures. Just remember to do the study guide while following along with the lecture, since the study guide is the key to the exams at the end. Practice the map quizzes (via quizlet too) a week ahead. Just wish it wasnt freezin (Rm. 222)
Her grading scale is pretty strict even though it is an online class. You have to buy the textbook to do most of the online assignments/quizzes. However she is nice and responds quickly if you contact her for anything. There's one group project at the end but it's easy to do well on it (my group did everything last minute, still got 100% on it).
taken as UD elective. not that bad. the book is available for free online. most of the exam questions came from the lectures. weekly movie with essay questions. group powerpoint presentation at the end. doesnt grade essay questions by writing standards. easy to get along with
Oh god, stay AWAY from this class and professor. WAY too much work for a level 100 class, WAY too much writing when it's a GEOGRAPHY class, and WAY too hard of grader for being a basic GE class. Only took the class for CR/NC, and still absolutely hated every minute of it throughout the semester.
Enjoyable long lectures with videos. Easy to communicate with. Essay based exams along with a few MC questions.
Awful is the easiest word I would use to describe this class. It's a ton of work for an online only class, and she grades really tough on things she never really explained in the instructions. For a geography class, it was also pretty politically charged. Incredibly boring lectures, kudos to you if you can stay awake and pay attention to them.
She is a nice professor and passionate about the subject, but pretty boring. DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK, it is available at the library for free or online as a PDF, just google it. This online class has weekly quizzes, lectures and some additional assignments. Maybe a bit much for a level 100 class, but passing is very doable.
Stay away from professor Wranic unless your opinion matches hers. She grades on opinions mostly, and gives incredibly vague directions for assignments. I had more work for this class than I did for any of my synchronous classes this semester, and this was the only synchronous one I took. 0/10 would take again or recommend to anyone.
Class is straightforward, watch the lecture, skim the reading, do a reading response and quiz, repeat. Sprang two ARC-GIS projects (which I and others were totally unfamiliar with) on us, one of which was the final, late in the semester, but they were worth almost nothing compared to the weekly assignments.
Dr. Wranics class is worth taking for the content alone. It touches on the intersection of politics, the environment, race issues, and more important topics. This class mostly involves watching lectures and other videos like documentaries and TED Talks. She sometimes grades free-response assignments harshly, and there is one group project.
Get ready for a ton of homework and classwork but the worst of all get ready for many group projects. She is nice and easy to talk to however her grading criteria is really strict. Not the best if you are just looking for a general GE course.
overall she's very kind and knows what she is talking about. 1 quiz a week + an occasional assignment or group project. the project's are a bit disorganized due to group members not participating and the structure of it... but they are fun (so far). i recommend speeding her lectures up online too :')
The way the async class is set up is frustrating, especially with the group project. There's no late work or multiple attempts on quizzes so you better keep up and know what's going on.
A final project wasn't given to us, but instead, she gave us weekly in-class assignment based on a video we watched in class. Her slides are not descriptive and sometimes don't make sense. Overall, easy and comfortable to approach her. Understandable and reaches back to you. Try to score marks from the first exam itself.
Professor Wranic is a good Professor and is passionate about the subject she teaches. I would recommend taking her class.
DON'T take this class if you're looking for an easy GE. Honestly surprised this isn't considered writing intensive; my friend in a writing intensive course wrote less papers than I did. There are 2-3 essays to write. Lectures are just her reading directly off a disorganized power point & knocked my essay 5 points off just for bad citations.
It is not an easy class unless you have time as every new post is on Thursdays with 2 papers and 2 part exams due on that week of day at 9 am. She does give feedback and does know when you put effort. I wouldn't take this class again. Good luck if you do. The only good thing I would say is that you are given a week or so but still...no...just no.
Took her for east Asia studies online and it was a great. Easy class to knock out your writing intensive and upper div. very few assignments and you do not need to buy the book to pass. I got an A and didn't read or study and I am a c plus student
Not a great experience. I dislike when professors use the same videos they recorded in 2020… not to mention the course requires many different softwares to be downloaded which is just frustrating. The professor doesn't even feel like a real person at times. Avoid this class at all costs.
During the online course, the lecture videos were outdated and obvious it was made during covid-19, she responds fast to emails, and gives good feedback on assignments and homework. Easy class as it was open book/notes, but was required to take the 3 exams on lockdown browser, and the professor does not help with technology issues at all.
