Great instructor, she only taught one section this semester but she was so clear and showed real life examples. I had taken 320 the semester before and didn't do too well and took it winter semester with her and added a major of finance because of her. I am happy I chose a TBA professors class and got her.

Fantastic professor, very easy to understand, uses real world examples. She is one of the only professors I've had that is willing to admit when they made a mistake. She really listens to her students and is understanding. I wish she would have a little more confidence in herself, but overall an amazing professor.

great prof. fairly easy grader, 3 tests, scantron with 2 short answer questions. homework is easy, out of the book. very laid back and always has a smile. group project at the end of the semester is not difficult. before every test she has a review day thats non mandatory, but i recommend going, as she usually shows one or two test q's w answers

I loved Professor Zondervan. She grades homework for effort, not accuracy. There is homework for every chapter. Attendance is mandatory- she only takes attendance on certain days. There is a group project towards the end of the semester. THE FINAL EXAM IS CUMULATIVE AND VERY DIFFICULT. I had an A up until the final and it lowered my grade to an A-.

Professor Zondervan really cares about her students and ensuring that they succeed. Class is not super hard, but sometimes difficult to truly learn since she's really black and white when it comes to what she has written in her notes.

Prof Z is a sweet lady who cares for the success of her students. She responds extremely quick to emails, so if you're struggling with a HW question just shoot her a message. Tests were easy until the cumulative final. Cumulative portion was fine, but it was essential to read in depth the chapters for the final unit for the new questions.

Angela is so sweet and genuinely cares about her students. The class is mostly lectures on the white board which can move slowly. It can feel like she talks to you like school children sometimes but it makes the material easier. If you come to class and make some effort, it's an enjoyable class.

Professor Zondervan is great, and shows a lot of interest on what students are working on outside of the classroom. Instructions are very clear, and as long as you attend classes regularly you should be solid.

Angela is the best professor that I've had at Grand Valley. She is so nice that it just makes you happy talking to her. She makes the class work very simple and tells you exactly what will be on the exam. She is very easy to understand, explains everything very well. She was one of Hoogstra's students and is just as good(if not better) of a prof.

Fast emails, answers questions well, takes time for student questions, goes over homework well.

Very workable professor. Asks on the first day for the style we would like the class to be taught. Can tell that she really knows her stuff, as seen by how easy her notes are to go over for exams. Use your notes to study, and study in groups. Could be better if she gave more worksheets and went over examsexam prep in more detail.

Great Professor! Loved how she does her lectures, but make sure you go to class because she doesn't post notes online! Group project and homework is all pretty easy and she curves the tests.

Non-Finance Students, TAKE HER FOR 320!! She makes it clear and easy what you need to know for the tests. Slows down for the parts that she knows are more difficult. She relates it to ACC 212 and 213 too. If you email her, she gets back to you. But don't miss class without getting notes for class from someone else! Make a friend the first day!

An extremely effective teacher. I learned so much through her class. She explains everything so well. I never read the book and still understand everything perfectly. Book is still important because homework is assigned from it. The homework takes me about 30 minutes per week. Tests are a little difficult but nothing crazy.

By far one of my favorite professors i've had, the work can be a little difficult but she is very helpful if you ask. Be sure to at least read of textbook chapters before tests, takes a few terms not really covered in class. Overall, great class.

Super nice lady. Creates a friendly and welcoming learning atmosphere for her students. Homework assignments are easy. Uses the whiteboard for her lectures (easy to follow along and take notes), provides a solid study guide for tests and exams and howto worksheets for calculations. One easy group project. Would recommend her to all business majors

Young and fun teacher! Super nice and helpful. She writes just about everything you will need to know on the board, vocab included. Assignments are really helpful, don't think of this class as a finance class think of it as algebra and vocab! Test are challenging but if you took notes you will do great, need the book for HW.

TAKE ZONDERVAN. I'm terrible at math and all related aspects but I got an A in this class because she was so amazing at teaching. She's extremely organized and is totally willing to help you if you have questions. One group project at the end but is pretty easy and she gives you lots of EC opportunities

Angela is super nice and very knowledgeable. Super smart, fun prof. Her lectures are really easy to follow, I think people only fall short bc finance isn't easy for everybody. Homework is minimal (30 min / week maybe) and her exams aren't terrible. Definitely take her for 320, I am looking for her courses so I can take her again! Extra credit too

TAKE HER! I was worried about this class since I've heard it's very hard. She gives you a lot of EC, if no one if your class gets a 100 on the test she curves it. One group project at the end but it's easy. She is always there to help and made the class easier than expected. Also get EC points for being in class when she takes attendance

Professor Zondervan is an awesome professor. She just gets it. She knows how to convey the world of finance to students whether it is their major or not. HW is credit/no credit, one group project is easy, and tests aren't bad if you study. One complaint is whole class is out of 100 points and you need 95% for an 'A' so no room for error. Take her.

Loved this class and Prof Zondervan. It's a tough class but she teaches things well. Homework is very short and straight foreword. Tests aren't too bad, expect for the multiple choice parts. Final is long and cumulative. She says you'll be able to get project done in class, but you won't, split it up between group members then it's easy.

Really one of the best professors at Grand Valley. She's fairly young, so she knows how it is. Very little homework, and always willing to help.

She's great, young, and knows what it is like to be a college student. Very straight forward and even makes a work book for you with example problems, which pretty closely reflect problems on the exams. She does randomly take attendance, and I would suggest you do not skip anyways, because everything she goes over is important.

She is very nice and helpful. She kind of dumbs it down to an easy level which some people like. She provides a workbook and walks through problems you need to understand. Instead of exams she gives 5 quizzes and a final. You need the textbook for the homework assignments. Fairly easy class, I would recommend her.

Zondervan is amazing. Disproves all FIN320 stereotypes. The notes correspond directly to the workbook and the workbooks aligns perfectly with the HW. HW is on connect (easy) and written out (also easy). Tests aren't bad but the MC questions can wreck you. She's also the nicest most caring lady. Made this class enjoyable and really easy. TAKE HER!!!

A good class overall. Finance is not the easiest subject but she has a lot of good advice and I felt taking this class was very worthwhile with her.

She's one of the most caring profs I've had at GVSU. Her class also has lots of real world use which is great. Only downside is the homework and notes I found did not always correlate directly to the types of questions she asks on tests so I noticed many people struggled HARD on the tests but otherwise amazing prof.

Prof. Zondervan is a very wonderful person, she's very kind & you can always reach her over text. My only thing about her is her tests (5 "quizzes") Short & long answer are fair but the multiple choice are frustrating & don't always line up with the notes/lecture. Final Exam is partially cumulative, its a lot but doable! Hw is easy. Take her!

One of the best profs I've had! She goes over topics multiple times and makes sure that everyone understands. Homework on every chapter covered, but she goes over it. Pretty easy class, nothing is too hard. Show up to most classes and you'll be fine. The packet she gives out at the beginning of the course is extremely helpful. Overall amazing prof.

Zondervan takes difficult material and provides real life examples and scenarios so that the material is more applicable and her passion for finance /teaching make it interesting. She walks you through everything step-by-step so it makes sense. There are plenty of opportunities for extra credit. Highly recommend especially if you struggle with math

Favorite teacher at GVSU. Cares about her students and it shows, FIN can be hard but she makes it interesting, gives best explanations and notes, answers questions. Wish I had her for every class. Got an A

Great professor to take for first finance class. She makes the material easy to understand. Lots of exams, but they weren't cumulative and only covered about 2 chapters each. 1 project can be group or individual. Textbook homework and a short learn-smart for every chapter. 10 random attendance days. Take her, you'll be happy you did.

This is probably the most benefical class i have taken at GV. I have heard finance can be a horrible, Zondervan truly cares about her students and wants them to do well. If you have the chance, take it with her! She offers extra credit as well, her final exam is not cumulative either.

She is very nice and a good professor however the tests are nothing like what you do in class. She gives a workbook and homework problems but the problems on the test are a lot different than what you do in class. I might consider someone else but she's a good option.

I had this professor for the Lab portion of FIN-322. I felt that the lab was very beneficial and the lectures were just okay. This professor really cares about her students and helps them out whenever she can. Overall, I really liked the lab portion of this class. I would take this professor again and recommend her to a friend.

She really knows her stuff and cares about finance. The class isn't easy, but she does her best to make the material as simplified as possible. Hands down one of the best finance professors, would definitely take her again! It's important to come to class and pay attention to do well.

So sweet. Drops lowest test grade. Doesn't have to have connect textbook which saves lots of money. Makes finance easy to follow, and there are clear grading instructions.

Really nice professor. She is very helpful both in the class and in office hours or answering emails. Her part of the 322/380 class is pretty easy. She shows you what you need to know to complete the assignments. I've had her in other classes and she was very good there too. I'd recommend taking her for any finance classes she's teaching.

Professor Zondervan is one of the easiest finance professors to take at GVSU. She tests from her notes, and she has a workbook for students that lays out the material perfectly. She cares about her students and is passionate about finance. Attendance is mandatory and I wouldn't recommend skipping class. If you put in the effort, you'll easily pass.

FIN 320 is a tough class, but prof Zondervan makes it as easy as possible. She is super helpful and caring and wants us to do well. Class is graded on homework, exams and 1 book report. Do the work and you will do fine. Exams are tough but doable.

Angela is great! She is an easy grader on homework but her exams can be hard! She does curve them but the multiple choice is very difficult. She offers a lot of extra credit and all of the resources for you to succeed. The final is cumulative and is worth 25% of your final grade

Probably one of the sweetest people ever. Tests are difficult, but manageable. There are extra credit opportunities and homework assignments are easy points. Its an easy class if you put in the work

Angela is great for FIN 320! She explains topics super well and uses real-world examples. There is weekly connect homework and reading questions but it's not too bad. There are 4 tests total including the final. She has amazing resources to help you better understand the material too! MUST TAKE

She was one of my favorite profs this semester. She is very organized and concise. She presents the material and her expectations very clearly. The only homework is connected, smartbook, and the occasional real-world application assignment. She makes finance a lot easier to swallow.

If you need to take this class try as much as you can to take it with her. She is truly one of the best professors I've had and made a class thats normally really hard/ boring actually kind of fun. she gives you a workbook and does all of the problems that are going to be in your homework in class. leaving this class actually learning something.

This was a hard class but that's how every single finance class is. Angela is a great professor who does her best to teach the material in a way that is required by Grand Valley. She brings a lot of interesting real world examples which makes finance way more interesting than the dry book. I liked COVID finance. Conceptual questions are a nightmare

I came into FIN320 thinking I would barely pass (I had gotten Bs and Cs in ACC classes) and I am ending this class with a solid A. Ill admit, the exams are kinda tough so be warned, but there were a few extra credit opportunities throughout the semester as well . There are also weekly Connect hw and smartbook assignments that help your grade.

Professor Zondervan is one of my favorite professors at GVSU. She explains the material very well and truly cares about her students. The exams can be a little challenging, but doable if you put in the work.

For the exams, you just have to be familiar with EVERYTHING from the notes. The one in-class exam we took was very different from the online COVID ones that were open note. She gives a lot of outside examples and there are extra assignments that are based on "real life" because she cares about you being able to personally apply the information.

I took a 2-week Covid-19 classes with Professor Zondervan and it had many interesting and applicable concepts. She makes you think about you spending decisions and how to scale back. I would suggest taking her because she provides quick feedback and is willing to help.

Zondervan is so great! Not being a finance major I was really nervous for this class. She has great lecture videos and is so helpful and quick to respond to emails if you have any questions. Exams were a little tough but finance is hard material in its own. Just study hard and make sure you have an understanding of the homework problems and terms!

This is one of my favorite Profs so far. She got a lot of backlash saying her class was very hard but those students also didn't do the practice problems and videos she posted, which were the same questions on the homework. Finance is not an easy class, so it won't be a breeze but you can really tell this professor tries to help as much as possible

Zondervan is a very nice professor, the class is just not easy. With being completely online as well it was even harder. The test were confusing and sometimes varied quite a bit from homework and lectures.

Professor Zondervan is clear about expectations from the first day of class. With that said, as long as you maintain your timeliness in completing assignments and studying for tests this class should be no problem at all. She gives the sweetest feedback to each of her students and does a great job of accommodating DSR students in advanced.

I am graduating this semester and I have to say this professor is the best I have encountered throughout school. She is very clear, structured, and caring. You know exactly what will make up your grade. No surprises. The exams are almost identical to the homework questions just reworded. As long as you actually put in effort, you should get an A.

This class was very easy with fairly short online lectures about the chapter and example problems. The homework was always similar to the problems she went over in class, and the weekly quizzes were straightforward and easy. She also responds quickly to emails and is very nice and understanding (she even gave a slight curve for the final).

I loved Professor Zondervan! I was super worried about this class after accounting, but she makes everything so easy. By far one of the best Professors Ive ever had. As long as you study and put in effort youll get a good grade. Theres always a curve on the exams which helps if you didnt do well. Take her!

Loved prof zondervan. She is so sweet and cares a lot about her students and how they do in her class. The content was difficult but im just bad at math, still finished with a B+ though. If you come to class then you'll do just fine!

Great Professor! I hate math with a passion, but she made everything very easy to follow and understand. If you put in the work, go to class, and do the homework you will do great in this class! Exams are higher pressured, but she does curve them so that works to your advantage! Definitely recommend it, especially if you struggle with math!

Prof Zondervan is amazing. If you go to class, listen to the lectures and do the homework, you'll be set. I would suggest taking it in person because it was a little difficult doing it hybrid. She's such a reasonable professor and will do the most to make sure you understand everything. Great at making everything understandable.

Prof Zondervan has a very organized class structure, her grading criteria is clear, and her outline notes are easy to follow. She also curves exams, which is good because they are MUCH harder than the homework assignments. She really doesnt offer much of a study guide or resources to prepare for the exams, and does not offer extra credit.

I took Prof. Zondervan for a FIN 180 class, which was a new class this year, and I really liked it. The class was only 5 weeks long, and we only had class for an hour on that 5th week. The rest of the class is online with end of the week due dates. This class is not hard, it's not supposed to be. She cares about young people knowing about money.

This class actually came pretty easy for me in terms of conceptual knowledge, but the way Zondervan arranges the classwork makes the class even easier. Just make sure to stay on top of discussion posts, the group project, and exams, and this class is pretty straightforward. And if you have any in-class concerns, she's great to talk with over email.

Basically just track expenses and weekly quizzes. Quizzes are only a couple questions and easy. Useless book, but need for quizzes. Clear directions. Fast grader. Useless lectures. Common sense class. Very organized. Final essay was longer than expected but still quick. Easy Credit. Only a month long class which is nice. Clear grading guidelines

I really liked Prof Zondervan! Not too much work, very supportive and gives great feedback! She's someone you can talk to outside of class if you have questions and doesn't give you unnecessary work. Love her. Would 100% take again

Oh my gosh she is amazing and makes this class so easy!! I could not recommend her enough. She is available all the time if you need extra help or have questions. The only thing that made me mad was that it took a week to get our exam grades back. Other than that it was a great class and never had to worry about it.

Finance is hard but Angela walks you through everything! She is kind and well spoken. Her videos provide a great foundation of terms and her in class in person examples help a lot with the excel and HW. There is one group project that isn't hard. The exams take up a lot of your grade and tough.

Not terribly hard and very understanding of circumstances. Attendance is required (literally takes a picture of the class for proof). Exams are not hard if you pay attention in class. Does the homework in class with you. There is one group project but it is pretty simple (randomized groups)

Professor Zondervan was pretty good. She is a great teacher, my only complaint is the homework's. Some weeks, the homework's did not align with what was taught in class; this was very frustrating, but did not really hurt my grade. The exams are tough, but if you study, you should be good. I recommend taking her hybrid class, it was a great set up.

Professor Zondervan knows her stuff and is able to explain topics several ways. I took FIN320 Hybrid, meaning we would only meet once a week. During that day, she would cover practice problems and HW examples for that chapter, be sure to do your video notes beforehand! Exams are a little hard but if you pay attention and study a bit you're set!

!!!FOR FIN 121!!! Prof Zondervan is very laid back and chill, and she also clearly knows what she is talking about. FIN 121 was easily the easiest college course I have taken. If you need a credit, I highly recommend taking this class.

Professor Zondervan is very organized in the way she presents the concepts and math in this class. She makes the content understandable and fun, all while being very personable and relatable. I love that she gave us additional book recommendations toward the end of the semester. This proves that she cares about our futures, not just her class.
