Totally fun class. She dresses up like famous historical figures and gives entire lectures in first person. A great teacher.
She is a walking encyclopedia - has been around the world and is back at Clark to impart her wisdom to the willing. Stays current on archaelogical findings.
this class is the best. she makes you want to come to class.
I only took the class from her for a week before dropping. From what I saw, she advocated an extremely colored version of history, coming from the far left feminist point of view. When I tried to question her assertions, she blew me off with a "Wel
Fun class. Not a big time investment, relatively easy while still being interesting. This lady knows her stuff! a class you can skip now and then w/o issue, but you won't want to because her lectures are interesting.
Awesome! Comes to class in costume, brings hard candy for students to class on testing days, and allows for creativity and innovation with final research project. Doesn't count attendance, another plus, but with her, you want to come to class!
This was one of the most enjoyable classes that I've taken at Clark. She definatly tries to make the subject interesting, and succeeds. If you are too conservative dont take the class though.
Dr. Fisher is one of those teachers who knows how to keep the class fun and interesting. She made history interesting by doing her many trips and bringing what she saw to the class. Would Recommend her for your History Course.
Dr. Fisher is amazing. Her classes are fun and informative. She knows her subject well. She goes the extra mile with her students. Best teacher I have ever had! Makes history come alive.
I took 3 different courses from Dr. Fisher and loved every one. Yes, she does have a very liberal, feminist view of history, but that's to be expected and celebrated in college. She brings history to life and that's all that matters.
I like her personality, however she makes her lectures rather unclear by switching around different subjects and not following her own syllabus. she is not organized. but she's kind of easy so i would reccomend her
she's one of a few of a dying race of teachers who love the subject they teach and are good at teaching. it's difficult not to pay attention in her class and she encourages her students to speak their mind.
It's clear she knows and loves her subject, which isn't always the case. However.... There is nothing remotely approaching organization in her teaching style; her class is an unstructured mess and the syllabus pertains to nothing but at her whim.
fairly feminist in aproach but i had no issues with her teaching style...to those who say she is unstructured i think you need to learn how to read her online notes which is all i used. i got an A out of her class and i enjoyed...take during summer
She is very unorganized, she lost my final. It took her 1.5 months to find it and them a month to update my grade after I contacted her dean.
She's a funky little woman, extremely informed of her subject and excited about teaching it. She is, however, a bit feather-brained at times. She mis-graded me and it took me three months and a trip to her dean to get it fixed.

Very good teacher, makes class interesting, and fun to be in. She is helpful, smart, and prepares you well for tests. Take her if you want a fun easy history class.
Very unorganized. This class has no text, which makes it annoying when you don't like to take notes. Take Fisher if you are genuinely interested in the subject because it is more work than I expected.
About the previous comment: wow, someone doesn't like to take notes, huh? Welcome to college, you idiot. I bet you're also pissed off that she didn't hold your hand. Anyway, Fisher is a fantastic teacher. Her class is easy and fun. But beware: you may have to take some notes (dun, dun, dUNN!!).

Well, Fisher's class interesting but her grading criteria sucks and is completely unfair. In a nutshell, if you want to get an A, you have to kiss her ass. I'm usually an A student, but even though I attend every class and study my ass off, it hasn't paid off. Studying is all done in vain here.
What I like the most about Fisher is that she constantly talks about how she has a total of, like, 1 billion students, and she really makes sure you feel it. Be sure that you'll feel like a huge NOBODY by the end of the quarter (unless you are one of those people who grovel at her feet).
She is an excellent teacher, she always has pictures to show and stories to tell. She's one of the best teachers I've ever had, and make learning very enjoyable. Her classes are not difficult if you pay attention and occassionaly study.
I really like her opinions and what she teaches, but I absolutely hate the way she treats the majority of her students. I agree with the below comments: if you don't kiss her ass, you're automatically a bad student in her eyes.
couldn't stand this teacher, partially because our personalities didn't match, but mainly because she whines constantly (seriously, it's your job to teach, you shouldn't have that much of a problem), is unclear, and as people have said, she loves you if you're a brownnoser but won't help you if not
No thank you.
ALL NOTES ONLINE!!!!! DR.fishers history class is the most informative that ive attended in all my (passive) years in college. If you're interested in what might be on the mid term or final; (A) ask in class. (B) go to the study sessions(that she does on her own time)Dr Fisher is highlyrecommended
Though I kind of agree Dr. Fisher can come across as a little busy or frazzled at times, I really do think she means well. Either way, her class is a lot of fun! I would highly recommend!
She won't teach history. She will teach opinion and how great women where through out history and how men where pigs to them and how they never changed. If you take the class from her make sure you read the book so you know about wars and about male rulers because she won't teach about them.

If you want to properly evaluate a teacher just as them to explain something not in the book.If you just get a blank stare than you just have someone spitting out what is in the reading if you get some real experience or knowledge than conceder your self lucky to be in the class.she has done it all
What a sassy treat this professor was!
anita's a crack up. the first teacher that i have had that made me laugh out loud. In the beginning she is hard to follow but once you get used to her absent-mindedness and lack of organization skills you'll love her... very easy class.. and interesting.. plan to take more of her classes.
As a Christian, I took offense to her teaching methods. Although the facts clearly show that Christianity has caused many problems in the past, I don't think Dr. Fisher should be teaching that to her students. It's just not fair. I can not recommend this teacher.
Dr Fisher was the main reason for my having taken the course. At first i was a bit skeptical; However, after her style began to envelop the class, and afterwards it was a pleasure, as well as an extraordinarily educational experience. thanks Dr. Fisher

She is able to teach to the three learning styles and is clear in what she expects on exams and in your homework. She makes earning an A possible, it's all up to you. I agree, she is a crack up!
The biggest anti-male person EVER, especially to the younger guys. I give her an "F" because I myself am a younger guy. But if you're an older feminist woman, you'll love this class though.
Anita Fisher was highly entertaining, but very scatterbrained with her assignments and grading. But she is so knowledgeable and you really learn a lot, even if it's unrelated to the unit you're studying.

I am a Christian, and I love Dr. Fisher! Most of her class challenged my faith, but in the end she strengthened it through tial by fire. She'll go off on Chrisianity with unvarified facts, but if you challenge her in class, she will humbly admit that there are several theories, or schools of thought on what could have happened, or what was.
Very interesting, LOTS of information, but I spent every class completely lost, and had to drop Calculus because I didn't have time to study for both (I learned a lot in class, but didn't learn anything that would apply to the tests in class). I was quite entertained, and I did gain some useful knowledge.
She is definaltly a femminist and she doesn't care about the religious aspects of history. She is kinda disorganized and is clueless about anything but history.
An entertaining woman. Like others have said, extremely scatterbrained. She's pretty cool though. First day of class, she calls out our names and we answer with Single, Taken, Married or no comment. A crack up. Tests are somewhat difficult due to information having been "covered" either in notes, lecture, or possibly the book.
Dr Fisher is a great teacher. She is so knowledgable about history. The people who say that she isn't fair to Christians or whatever are just saying that because they don't like to be challenged. She backs up her stuff and says that she isn't trying to change anyone's beliefs. She is also great for Model United Nations (with Pat).
Sorry guys but a religion can't cause problems. All religions have their corrupt. Some aren't as PC to accuse as christianity though. ANYhow I loved Dr. Fisher's class. Dressing up in medieval costumes was awesome. I learned a lot from her and I'd take her classes again with no hesitation.
Wow, yeah, religion can't possibly cause problems... because millions of people throughout history haven't been killed in the name of religion at all. No, nothing like that. These are the types of things you will learn in her class, and that's what makes her such a great teacher: she's honest and blunt, and doesn't care about being "PC."
her women in history class is easy, but she is SO scatterbrained. she lost our entire class' midterms. you could only come to one class a week after the first week and still get an A.
She was pretty good. Scatterbrained at times. But she knows a lot about history (some of it not being true) and her tests were really easy. It was a fun class to be in.
i took this instructor for history by recommendation of my friends. she is awesome! she reminds me of my great aunt, VERY opinionated and stubborn, she is also hilarious. [i came to class one morning and she was wearing a 3' red wig and sword, claiming to be queen boudicca and ordering us around.] easy instructor.
Scattered is the best word. Imperial Rome in 15 minutes? High expectations for learning the material though lectures tend to not cover much of it, tangents are common. Knows her stuff, just not really focused in presentation. Takes some outside studying, but it's history..
I have trouble taking this "professor" seriously. Not only does she constantly tend to contradict her own statements, but she often does back them up either. I'm troubled by the fact that a person of serious academic pursuit would also be so blantantly condescending towards people of faith. If you take learning seriously, don't take this class.
I'm troubled by the fact that a person of serious faithful pursuit would also be so blantantly condescending towards people in general. I'm glad I took her class because I have gained from it this very enlightening view of Christianity! Thanks, Dr. Fisher!
I didn't know what I was getting into before taking Anita's class. She's awesome; after taking her for 2 terms, it's very easy to follow her lectures. She's very easy to apprach and gets excited about your studies. I love Dr. Fisher. She's an incredibly smart woman. Has a great reputation both on and off campus.
I think Fisher is great. Some people can't handle the reality check. She obviously makes you think for yourself, and I do believe that is her goal. She doesn't care if you agree with her, but she respects other peoples opinions.
Great up till she gets into politics and relgion. Needs to leave her personal opinions at home, because I know I didn't pay for it. Other than that, wonderful and funny.
If your interested in actually learining and not just sitting around talking about the he proff's costume collection then DON"T take this class. I was really excited to learn about women's history through the ages and I learned NOTHING in this class. What a waste of time. Go to Powell's, buy a book about women's history, and you'll learn alot more.
she doesn't stay on track, she doesn't follow her lecture notes, and she's very likely to loose your midterm/finals.
What a refresing teacher. keeps you awake even on those long fridays.... lot's of fun... you just have to get into the swing of Dr. Fisher time.
I didn't really enjoy having this teacher, and history is my favorite subject. She's a little bit eccentric and at times that can be fun but it's rather disorganized and boring, I would recommed another teacher for this class.
Best teacher I've had at Clark. Extremely funny prof. Seriously, she has an amazing sense of humor. Incredibly knowledgable in all areas of history. I wish I could take all of Anita's classes.
She's a hell of a very nice lady. Even she gets off track her class, it makes her class sensible. Students need a break. When prof just keep going and going with lectures, students complain. When prof is trying to awake students with their sense of humor, students complain. Prof just can't win. Well pick your choice ! Dr. Fisher's class is perfect
I've had fisher for four classes now. You'll never get sick of her. And while her lectures are pretty scattered and sometimes hard to follow, don't fret: if you want to pass her tests with no trouble at all, GO TO HER STUDY SESSIONS. They're super helpful, and basically assure an A+! Try to take a class from Fisher, even if you don't need any histo
The most awesome teacher ever. She makes you really want to learn about history.
She is a nut case and a little unorganied. She has her own way of organizing and doing test and such... The important thing to remember is that its impossible to fail this class. pretty much everyone gets an A unless they dont do whatever work happens to be there
Anita is very like-able, blunt, funny and VERY easy. It's an easy A. I took women in history and all we've talked about is birth control and it can be very graphic and unnesessary. Beware of that. She also doesn't mind inserting her personal opinion in once in a while. She's very much a liberal feminist. She also hates Bush and lets you know it.
Great teacher. Has passion for her subject and wants to inspire a love of history in her students. Tests and projects are easy. If you attend lectures and take notes you won't have to read the text. You have to really try to fail this class!
Fisher is completely useless. She's as organized as a trailer park after a tornado and cannot help but turn every lecture (Ha! "Lecture." Right...) into a diatribe on how evil men are, how awful America is and how Bush is Satan. She's a total nutcase. Also, don't be fooled by silly things like course titles; every Fisher class is Women's Studies.
Funny lady with a lot of spunk!... and its true. its realy hard to fail her class, extremely Easy class!
Excellent lectures. Loves her subject. Cares about her students. Always available for direction. Encourages critical thinking. Delightful and accomplished woman. THought provoking. Loved it.
Her lectures are pretty decent and I feel like im actually learning a lot of the stuff, but her class is waaay to easy.
I am pretty sure this is the easiest college class anyone will ever take. She is a really funny teacher with a liberal feminist point of view. I dont like her style of teaching, but I like her easy class.
She's a bit eccentric. Actually made history learning fun for me. Her class is easy if you show up and study a bit. Missing two days in a row may screw you over. Anything she says will probably be on the tests. She also gives you like, a million extra credit points. Lets you take test with partners too. I recommender her for history!
She makes it easy to become interested in the subject that she is teaching. She is very out there, but in a good away. The only thing I would say that if you do not like teachers to say their political point of view then I would think twice.
This is the best teacher I have ever had for history. Extremely Liberal and very very fun teacher. She will talk about anything you bring up if it has to do with class. I highly recommend this teacher for World History!
Had fisher for all three quarters. History major & I had to take them. She was funny and okay, but this quarter she's been horrible. I like her as a person, but was really disappointed at the lack of history learned. We did WWI&WWII in one day each. Frustrating to not really learn things at all. Don't buy the textbook. Take it if you suck at school.
I was stunned to read neg.ratings about Anita! She has earned every inch of her Docturate & it shows in her teaching.Peoples comments on how easy it is to pass her classes comes from the EXTRA work she puts in on study guides/sessions. Love the lady.
She is crazy and awesome and I loved her!
She is truly great. She puts her life into her work. makes history fun and interesting and would take time out of her schedule anyday for you if you needed help at all. Would recommend her to ANYONE!
Dr. Fisher's classes are excellent.Really connects you to past cultures in an interesting way.Contagious love of history. Very responsive to students.Offers as many opportunities as you need to prepare for tests.
Best teacher i have had at clark. if you want to learn you can and if you want to slack off you can. Im taking all 3 of her classes and i love it. She does make history interesting. she hates the college administration and considers herself a rebel. very liberal and feminist.
She's a great teacher. Knows everything about her subjects and has been everywhere. Remember to study hard for her tests so you can make use of the TONS of extra credit available on each.
While History has always been interesting to me, it wasn't until taking Anita's world Civ's 1 class that I actually cared to learn more than I was being taught. Her level of knowledge and interest in the subject is infectious. If I didn't already have a major that I was working towards I would probably make mine History! Keep it up Anita!
Dr. Fisher is an amazing professor!! She knows her stuff and goes over so much in class. She loves to bring in her costumes and let's people try them on. She's really big into Women in the past and what they have done. Dr. Fisher also just makes the class fun and you want to come to class!!
AI slacked off and still passed. Listen to her lectures and you should pass. I'm taking her for the rest of my history classes.
I really love Anita Fisher's classes! I took her World Civ. I class just to get the credit, and found her to be quite amazing at teaching. So I took the other two classes (which were known as HIST 102 & 103 [127/8]). Anyways, great teacher, humorous, gives lots of EX credit (easy A). The 1 thing I don't like is the project at the end. But its ok.
Anita is a great teacher. She lectures everyday, lots of personal opinion and bias's. She gives out lots of extra credit. As long as you communicate with her she will work with you. The project at the end is a bit of a hassle but its designed for you to remember something from the time period you are studying.
I love Dr. Fisher! Don't get the textbook. If anything, share the book with someone. If you listen to lectures you'll be fine. She is absolutely hilarious. I think I laughed out loud every single class. If you have to take a huge classload, take this one. Its super easy and extremely entertaining.
What can I say? I took a women's history course from Dr. Fisher last year and became hooked. I have taken 4 in a row..maybe 5..Idk. I love this woman. Her classes are so fun and relaxed. If you listen, and take advantage of her online notes (in prose format), you will ACE this class. Check your attitude at the door and let her teach you.
Anita is an amazing teacher. She makes history fun. If you want to see a teacher run into the classroom screaming like a Celt, this is definitely the class for you. (Btw it was really funny to see her do that). She is a little unclear on dates but you kind of learn to go with the flow. Besides, the work is pretty easy.
Excellent teacher. makes learning history so interesting and fun.
When I began college in 2008, I needed 1 history class for my degree. I have since taken all 3 of Dr. Fisher's World Civ courses because she is such an excellent teacher; she makes history come alive!
I took history from Ms. Fischer expecting to learn an unbiased view of history. She is an interesting teacher and loves history, but throws he opinion into the lessons but teaches them like facts. She even wants you to repeat he opinions as facts on her tests. Her tests are really easy to pass, if you know what her opinions on the topic are.
What the previous person said is a crock! Dr. Fisher (and try spelling her name right!) does give her opinion sometimes but always makes clear that it is HER opinion and that we are not obliged to agree. Took a couple of classes from her this quarter and she was just awesome! She is interesting and funny and I learned so much. Great instructor!
I took this class for fun in 1996.Like others, I did find Dr.Fisher to be disorganized but not always. She was dramatic and this was fun. Also,it was challenging to follow. But the people writing here are not using commas, periods, capitalization,or spell check. While I agree with many things, get real. And, Christianity is part of history.Be objective.
At the beginning of the course, she states outright that she gives most everyone A's. If you do an assignment, you get an A. If you don't like your grade on a test, you can take it over. She's really lenient, and it's also a really fun class.
I love Dr. Fisher lectures everyday don't have to take notes you could practically show up one day a week and still get an A if you read her online notes. She's super funny and opinated. Tip if you ever have an opurtunity to be in the Women in Hist. play do it. One you get an A the play is your final project and B she will love you!
Extremely lenient, but the curriculum is highly disorganized and many of the intended topics are never covered because she frequently diverts into opinionated tangents, and spends a lot of our paid class time talking about administrative politics and issues with her husband.
Her quirkiness can be entertaining, but what are we paying for? Doesn't know dates, teaches opinion as fact, doesn't accept knowledge gained elsewhere as credible(as in, if it didn't come from HER, it's not legit), and freely admits certain parts of history bore her, and skims over them. Interesting personality, bad teacher.
I do not exaggerate when I say Dr. Fisher is absolutely wonderful! You must go into her classes with an open and objective mind. Bible thumpers will more than likely be offended because she tells it like HISTORY has proven it. If you can't handle that, you have no business in a history class.
Easy A. No text book usage. Download her power points. Show up once a week to study guide for up coming quiz, Study then get an "A". I f'n hate history, Dr. fisher made it fun, she is an interesting teacher to say the least, she likes to make class memorable and fun. If you hate history take fisher she'll mysteriously make you interested.
Extremely disorganized, gets distracted easily, relies on powerpoints to teach her class, which are often completely useless. However, if you're looking for a class you can pass with an hour of wikipedia research before each test, this might be the class for you.
Anita Fisher, as others before me have said, will mysteriously make you interested in history. I am a women's studies major, had her for Women in History. Anita Fisher is f*ing amazing. Smartest prof on campus, has a PHD, and is helpful and interesting. She doesn't teach dates because history is in constant state of interpretative flux. Duh.
took 251 and 252, and loved them both. Dr Fisher/Anita is wonderful. She can be a bit spazzy, and goes off topic sometimes, but her passion for the subject makes it so easy to learn. She doesnt care about specific dates, just general time period. She was one of my favorite profs at Clark and I would recommend her 25x series to everyone
Overall a fairly easy class. I advise you don't buy a book because you will never use it in her class. Use wikipedia instead. Easy class to pass but surprisingly difficult to get a solid A. Teacher failed to record any of the student's grades except my mid term and final which is outrageous. If you're looking to learn something choose someone else.
Dr. Fisher is very passionate about her subject. Her license plate even says "HISTORY"! She's been EVERYWHERE, so she always shows pictures of her travels during lecture. Although her love for her subject makes the class interesting, the midterm is brutal and she tends to drop rude political comments. I don't know if I would recommend taking her.
Fantastic teacher, have taken two classes from her and will be taking a third next quarter. If you are overly religious, she will probably offend you at some point. While attendance isn't mandatory it is recommended you show up daily as she covers a lot each class period. Very easy tests and papers. She's my absolute favorite teacher.
Anita is way too disorganized to be teaching 4 classes at once. in class she would be very scatterbrained and hard to follow. There were changes constantly being made to assignments and due dates so being flexible is imp. she gives a lot of extra credit so don't worry about getting a good grade, that'll happen w/effort. her disorginization is awful
Teacher seldom gives back work, is very disorganized, has unclear grading system, inconsiderate of people's questions and opinions, and disrespectful to students. I learned a lot from the text but not from the teacher.
This is the teacher that got me interested into History. She puts an interesting twist on when presenting material, whether it be pics (that she took), a story, or an item relating to the material. A lot of material is covered each day. Tests are ok, and there are extra credit options (ie: maps).
Dr. Fisher...well she is extremely unorganized. Super nice though, but unorganized. She has a personal vendetta against some people which she has no problem talking about. It's awkward. She talks more politics than she does the subject. Tons of reading and if you want to do good, READ. She has website USE IT! That is how you'll pass. Good easy 5cr.
The subject of Women in World History is political due to the politics that have suppressed women throughout the years. Period. This teacher is for women's rights as a result. She is a GREAT teacher and very understanding. The only people who have had a hard time in her class are Running Start kids who've never had their opinions challenged.
Dr. Fisher is awesome. Although she is very opinionated and sarcastic, it's hard not to respect her from everything she knows and has been through. Seriously need to have her as a teacher at some point; she knows what she's talking about and loves what she does. I wish I could adopt her as my grandma! It's pretty rare to meet people like her.
Dr. Fisher is extremely knowledgeable. She enjoys her field and enjoys teaching. But I had huge problems with her class. She is late to start her morning class regularly. She goes off topic and talks current politics. Does not refer to the text book besides what is listed in the syllabus. And the test are more of a geographic quiz instead of history
She really knows her history
Dr.Fisher is fun and really enjoys teaching. If she shows up late to class, don't be suprised if it is her first class of the day.. Tests are pretty easy if you study and Assignment examples can be found on her web page!! I'd say if you want an easy A and you like history take this class!!
Synch yourself to recursive patterns of history and revolutions, or be invisible/gone.
Dr. Fisher is an amazing professor and she always speaks her mind no matter what. she seriously knows everything. Her class is amazing and it's worth the time. You will grow to love her like a family member if you like history and like a fireball of a lady. no text book use and lot's of info. don't be scared to ask questions. lots of notes.
Dr. Fisher is one of the best professors I have had at Clark. Her class was super easy, and all of her lecture notes and study guides are on her website. Really enjoyed the class, overall! Don't buy the textbook though. You will NEVER use it. Ever.
Dr Fisher is a great teacher i have taken all the classes she teaches and just love her class she makes learning fun and interactive
Shes an awesome teacher. She can be very opinionated which seems to really bother people. She has a true passion for history and really enjoys teaching. Very interesting character and makes the class enjoyable. Definitely recommend this class. Just don't let other peoples opinions bother you that much and you'll be fine.
Absolutely love this woman! Her dry sarcasm and wit absolutely cracks me up! She is an encyclopedia of historical knowledge. If you are an extremely organized person (like I am) it will take a little bit for you to get used to her liberal style but it's well worth it just to be in her class.
Very interesting teacher. She obviously loves history and knows her stuff. Her lectures are informative and is where most of the information for the tests come from. The book provides little to no help with her. Her tests aren't very hard and she's a very easy grader.
She made the subject interesting and classes with her are very fun. You might get a bit overwhelmed during lectures but there's a lot of information to cover so it's understandable. The assignments and tests were easy and she's always willing to help.
Awesome teacher! I specifically picked her class again this semester. She is witty, funny, smart, and super understanding. She makes quizzes easy and will give you chances to fix your grade. As long as you pay attention and study, know your history and she will be impressed!
BEST teacher at Clark! Best history teacher too. Her lectures are informative and available online. Assignments are easy and you can choose to do a written final OR a project! She's perfection tbh
Second time I've taken her. Absolutely love Dr. Fisher. She's a walking/talking encyclopedia - but better. Hope to take her for women's history in the fall.
Dr. Fisher is the best teacher at Clark! She made it easy and interesting to learn history!
Dr. Fisher's online class was pretty easy. 2 quizzes per week that are true false, 1 discussion posting and 2 replies every week. 2 reports that are only 1-2 pages long on primary sources-hardest part is finding the primary sources. No schedule of due dates was provided so she would spring a report on you that same week. No book required was a plus
I took all three World Civilization courses with Anita when i was in running start and i absolutely loved her. She is very nice, understanding and helpful. I highly recommend taking her class if you want a fun lecture on history. It was just an added plus that i love history. Definitely take her classes.
Not enough characters.. Dr. Fisher is the most profound teacher I have ever had. She seriously knows her stuff. There is so much to cover and she doesn't get through it all, so read her online lectures and talk to her! She's got tons of books she will lend out. If you read the guidelines and put in actual effort you will get an A.
Super funny and knows so much about history, she couldn't even teach it all in the time she had. Plus the class was super easy, there is no excuse not to pass this class.
Best History teacher I ever had. No memorizing dates, or anything like that. She isn't that hard on like grammar and if you know your facts you can pass easily. She likes to experiment every quarter and see if the way she does things teaches more. This quarter we play jeopardy for the final, and watch historical movies for extra credit. AWESOME!!!
She loves to get students participating. She loves when everyone dresses in costumes and acts out roles. Big time extra credit but you need to know your facts in order to pass. I recommend her to everyone even to people who live in other countries haha! Basically if you didn't like history, after her class you'll love it.
I never had any idea what was going on in this class and when I asked, the answers were mostly useless. A lot of online quizzes, and sometimes the questions weren't ever so much as mentioned in the lectures. An easy A if you can figure out what to do. I didn't.
Dr. Fisher is an amazing history professor. Definitely not for a lot of people though. She is sarcastic and witty, and will show if she likes you or doesn't. Her lectures are always interesting and pretty genius, you don't have to worry about the textbook. If you do the work and show up for class, you can definitely get an A.
Dr. Fisher's class taught me so much about ancient history and and really cultivated an interest in the subject that I had never had before. She was helpful and kind, and has a very clear passion for the subject, and sharing her love of history with others. I would recommend her to anyone. Some quiz questions are not in the lecture material.
Dr. Fisher was so excellent that I took her classes in succession for 3 terms. She is clearly an expert in the field and her lectures are often engaging as well as hilarious. I would recommend completion of English 101 before enrolling in her class, she does expect you to be able to write two response papers and grades grammar ect. Great professor.
Hands down, the best professor on campus. But if you're a mysoginist or don't think women should be treated equally, you may find yourself in an awkward place. She's a powerhouse, bent over backwards to help me through one of the most difficult times in my life by cutting me some slack AND letting me vent. She is awesome.
As a conservative woman I didn't agree with many of the things Dr. Fisher said. However, I do respect her and think she is a great teacher. She was very clear on her expectations, knowledgeable, and caring. She wants people to succeed. Her classes were always fun and entertaining; her sense of humor will sometimes throw you off guard.
