DR. Kandula is a great Teacher if you get to know her, you have to understand that she had too many students enrolled, not to mention a bunch of dishonest students that make it even more difficult for her to teach the way she would like

Dr. Kandula is not easy to get A, but it is possible to get A. Her lecture is super clear. She is very nice. She took in more than 100 students per quarter. That is a lots of students. Remember, she is MD doctor. I learned a lot from her.

Dr. Kandula is a wonderful teacher. She is extremely clear on her teaching and her style of teaching is excellent. She has a calm, caring personality. I will follow her throughout my BIO Series. Take her class. You won't regret it.

The material is very dense, but she's patient and helpful. Her exams are not easy, but she tells you exactly what you need to know to do well; she also gives additional info which is often enlightening & occasionally confusing.

she's cool..attend all the lectures and u'll definitely pass the class..handouts..very important..to be able to get an A..u need to ask her what's gonna be on the tests!lolz..ask questions during lectures and lab so she'll recognize you....MEMORIZE stuff!!!!

dr. kandula is great!!! she knows her material, and she make her class interesting, but you need to be prepare to take her note, even with the handout. even though it's a tough class but she make it interesting.

I like this teacher. She has read her lecture clearly and with a lot of patience answering students' questions. Her quizes are not simple, yes. You should make notes and read the book. But if you do this you will get A! After her lectures you will see that anatomy is an interesting subject

Super hard tests...even u read and study everything. If u want to get A with Bio 40 series for sure, take it with Lucklock.

Do not try to cheat in this class cuz she's gonna give it to you BIG. attendance is important and so is conscienous. Tests are tough and tricky. Focus on "exceptions." she favors A students. TA 's are helpful ...and becoming expensive suggest you get together in a group and study.

Take her class! A lot of material and tricky quizes, yes! But you'll know anatomy. And with the lecture notes and her guidlines you will get an A on the exam. I also VERY recommend to record her lectures and then to listen to the records right before exam. I got all A's :)

I had her for a and p in evc...she is very helpful especially if you ask whats going to be in your exams...you will study like u never did b4.if you are planning to drop her class because you are in a brink of failing...Don't because she really encourages you...i thought i was getting a C but i was actually getting an A..Lots of xtra credit willh

She tests you from the lecture notes. But we have to write down all she speaks continues and some times it is very hard to write everything and we recorded her and try to make note when i came home and it always takes a long time. It is very easy to get B with her. but hard to get A. she is sweet and lovely teacher.

One class per week, for both the lecture and lab, was too long. This class should not be taught 1 day per week. She was good about letting you know what was important to study and understand by providing lecture outlines. She is good about pointing out details, but you need to ask. She is very willing to help you understand.

Make sure you have a hand brace, because you will be writing to the end of time. You will learn in her class though. VERY tricky quizs. Tests and labs not so much. You will still need to know the material, but should not be a problem because you will be basically rewriting the book anyways

to sum it up, 6 tests (lab&lec) and few quizes. she is nice, funny and informative but we sat there taking notes forever. the class is nothing but her reading out of the book and us taking notes, even in lab. gets a bit lost in her lecture , only notes she gives us are definitions. you are expected to memorize everything. i wouldn't reccomend her.

I had her for 40A and 40B. She is very down to earth and easy to talk to. The material is hard and requires alot of memorization, regardless of who is teaching it you. The material on the tests and quizes is predictable and she even gives you a study guide before each one.

Awesome teacher- highly reccomend her. Not too hard, not too easy, so you learn well. Expect to earn your A's though. But if you have trouble or questions, she is always willing to help. I honestly can't say anything negative about her. =)

The instructor needs to make better use of the available class time by giving more than just the information covered in the book. She is VERY helpful, but I'd like to see more of her own personal touches added to the course content. Class was held once per week, which made learning and retaining the course content ineffective.

Dr. Kandula is an awesome teacher and an intelligent one. She makes you study really well which in the long run, help you to be a better student.

By far my favorite professor! Dr. Kandula delivers the material with clarity, applies the information to real life, and provides ample opportunity to learn and grade well in her class.

Wanted to check how she is doing and just couldn't stand the last rating. She is one of my best teachers. I took her classes Bio 40A,B,C 2 years ago. English is not my first language and it was very difficult. I spent a few hours every day reading the book. My final grades were A's. There is a hint: I used recorder and then listen to the lecture.

She is awesome! I took her over the summer and got an A. She has a good lecture and notes to match. If you don't get an A, its cause you didn't study or go to class. She may be late.. but she makes it up in the end.

so far, the best teacher in de anza, i really love her. i wish all teacher would be just like her. the class is hard but she makes it so easy for us. i advice all teachers to ask her for teaching strategies;ask her so students would love you as well, and for students, take her if you want to learn. highly recommended, keep it up Dr. Kandula!!!

Great TEACHER...I took on on Saturday so I never went to class or paid attention but IF I DID then I would have gotten an A not a C and I would probably still be in the nursing program...Take her, pay attention, ask questions and you will get an A.

She's the best teacher ever! Taking her class made it so easier for me to pass those hard anatomy and physiology classes! I took her over summer for bio40A and got an A! Shes really nice, gives extra credit, take her, her tests are easier! She will let you out early from class at times! Her grading system is easier, if you want an A take her class!

Dr. Kandula is a good professor! She explains the material well and her class isn't boring. What I found most helpful are the notes that you could print from her website and bring to class.

She's really easy going, and attendance wasn't a big deal. Notes were on her website, and so were study guides for all the tests. Overall pretty interesting class.

Pro: Lectures are clear and easy to understand. She makes sure you comprehend before moving on. Notes are available online. If you attend open lab before exams, you'll do fine. Fair grader. Con: Hard to contact. Doesn't respond to emails.

Great teacher. Very kind and understanding. Tests are pretty easy, just a lot of info to memorize. She gives lots of extra credit, especially if you tell her you’re concerned about your grade. There’s no hw, and the lab part of this class is easy too. I disagree with the last commenter. She always responded to my emails.

She is so easy! She always lets her students out extra early and we don't even need to get the textbook! she gives out study guides for tests and all you need to do is study and you'll get an A

pro: Good teacher, lets class out early, notes on website con: lectures go by fast, hard keeping up, constantly asks if anyone has ?s which lets ppl ask stupid ?'s and waste valuable time, makes tests/quizzes difficult & confusing on purpose, lab ?s on lecture tests, study guides dont reflect actual test, I got a B even though I studied my ass off

She is an excellent teacher! She makes confusing and hard subjects easier to understand. Very helpful too if you're having trouble.

she is a great lecturer because you have access to notes, but her test are HARD and tricky. you have to study EVERYTHING she gives you and her wording is a little confusing. if you memorize the notes, you'll be good... but seriously, who does that?

She is a pretty cool teacher she tells you in the first class you have to put in effort to fail her class and its true. She never uses the book. She gives you everything you need for the tests. She is kinda funny and very nice willing to help you gives extra stuff for more points.

I took her for all the Bio 40 series. She is great! Although she seems almost always tired, she is a great teacher! She is very willing to help. Her tests are fair if you studied. I found her quizzes hard though. But if you work hard, you'll get a good grade.

A MUST TAKE!!!! stay awake and take notes. print the hand outs prior to class from her web page and take notes!!! everything is from her lectures, 99.9% of the class got A's. a very helpful, and smart teacher, ask her anything and you'll get an answer. she up to date and i promise you'll love the class

She's awesome!MUST study her lecture/lab notes.Do the easy homework from your lab book.Tests are directly from that material.Only bad thing is she goes on tangents trying to explain questions sometimes.Record lectures, study the models and you'll be fine! Dr.Kandula(M.D) is not arrogant.She is very down-to-earth considering her respectable bckgrd in medicine.Her medical knowledge is beyond anyone I've met.Take upper division classes at a university &u will realize how ignorant u r 4 calling her stupid.she's practical,if u choose medicine as a career u should take her class seriously to earn tat A!

Took her for all the BIOL40 series. Answers emails promptly, and she's very helpful with questions related to the class. You need to study HARD and do all the work to get a good grade in this class. But all that studying will be worth it since we'll need that info in the future anyway.

First, let me say that many will say that she is difficult. If you want a good education and a fair/competent teacher, she rocks! She is not hard, if you do the work as u should! She leaves it up to you to get the grade you DESERVE. She is funny, witty and makes this class an interesting and personally challenging experience that will be missed!

I took all series of Biol 40 with her. Fall in love with the materials and her way of teaching. I worked hard to earn As in these classes & proud of them since classes are difficult. Other instructors are way too easy that I think school should not hire them, since they fail us as educators, and school fails to provide us proper education system.

I love Mrs Kandula I think she is a great teacher.Bio40 A,B and C are hard classes but Mrs Kandula is pretty crystal clear on her lectures.She gives study guides for the exams and she goes out of her way for students. The student just need to really want to learn and put the time to get the grades.Mrs Kandula can only go so far :)

great teacher! This class is hard but all bio classes are. She's very approachable & adds everyone on the waitlist. I barely used the book (dont read it). All her tests are based on lecture & lab notes. Gives extra credit for being neat & on test weeks, there's NO LECTURE/LAB CLASS!!! just tests.. how great is that.

The class is difficult, especially for the second language speakers. I took BIO 40A,B,and C and received all As. My recommendations: buy a recorder and record her lectures and listen to them a few times; especially prior to exam. The answers to the questions in her tests are in her lectures. Use the book to clarify the concepts & learn terminology.

Great teacher hard course. Work hard - you'l do well.
