OMG! Hands down the best professor I have ever had. She truly cares and will take time to make sure that everyone understands before she moves on. Show up to class she randomly takes up labs for grades. Final is NOT comprehensive! Which is awesome, each test are only over 2-3 chapters. Love her! Wish could take for bio 2-filled up first day of reg.

I am taking Professor Iyer again for Biology 1409! Her passion for biology is infectious and makes you want to learn. She breaks topics down well, especially for non-science majors. I feel like I actually got to know more about how biology applies to my own life, rather than just memorizing a copious amount of facts/terms.

Professor Iyer is a wonderful and caring teacher... I honestly never have taken a Hybrid course and I missed the first day of school and she took the time to email me if I was okay. Her test are common sense and usually about 1-3 chapters. Always take Notes on whatever she says because that will be on the test for sure!

Amazing professor. The info is hard but she makes it fun and easier to learn. 2 exams + final (not cumulative!) and some small projects. Labs are so much fun! Wish she taught all my classes!!!!

Iyer's class was awesome! She really loves bio and makes the class easy to understand. Her tests are easy, but be sure to study and you'll get good grades. Show up to every lec and lab because sometimes there are activities & lab assignments that she takes for a grade. 2 fun projects, 1 is a paper & 1 is a movie presentation. Taking again for 1409

I have avoided biology for years. Took a biology for non science majors, super easy. Her in class reviews are almost identical to test. Two very easy projects and a few assignments. Highly recommend for easy A

Mrs. Iyer is one of the best professors at Lone Star. She is a caring woman, and she makes her lectures entertaining as she knows that biology is not everyone's favorite topic. Labs are neither difficult nor time consuming, but they do require you to work with your team and Mrs. Iyer is always glad to help.

Took her for honors and she is by far the best professor and cares about her students and what she teaches. If you have trouble understanding bio I totally recommend her. She teaches the material in more than just one way and if you actually pay attention you should do great!

I took Professor Iyers honors class. She is a caring, knowledgeable professor who understands the biology may not be everyones favorite subject. Her lectures are fun. She does not assign too many assignments. Tests are easy if you study and labs are not difficult since she is willing to help if need be. I would highly recommend her!

Prof. Iyer is awesome!! She worked with me thru this semester and I am able to pass this class even though I had so many health issues. She didnt give up on me. She is very prompt with emails and is very encouraging. I highly recommend her.

Professor Iyer is an amazing teacher! She shows interesting videos for every lecture and breaks down her PowerPoints to get a better understanding. She has group quizzes, 4 exams and 2 projects(you present of of them at the end of the semester). Would take her class again in a heart beat!

OMG! She is awesome. If you have to take Biology take her class. She made the class fun and interesting. I took both 1408 and 1409 with Mrs. Iyer.

Besides one test which I got a 92 on, I had 100% in all the other assignments. I'm a biology major so intro was very easy and prof Iyer made it even easier. She gave real world advice when working in a lab which I really appreciated. I cannot wait to take her for Cell Culture. Her tests are super straightforward and she is a chill grader.

Take Prof Iyer you will not regret it!! I took her for 1409 and I really wish I would've taken her for 1408 as well. She has group quizzes, 2 super easy and fun projects that are impossible to make less than an A on, plus tests and lab practicals straight from notes/lectures. She keeps her class interesting with stories from India and is so sweet.

If you need to take Biology , this is the teacher to take. She relays everything to real life and shows a ton of videos to give her students a visual about what she is discussing. I LOVE this teacher and if I needed more Biology I would take her. She made me love biology and look forward to her classes.

Professor Iyer is AMAZING!!!!!! Don't even doubt taking her, just sign up. I've never liked Biology, in fact I barely passed in high school, but she makes the class interesting and she is just a wonderful person. Just memorize the slides and maybe read a little bit from the textbook and show up for labs and you are guaranteed to get an A.

Professor Iyer is amazing! She really cares about her students and sets realistic goals with your workload from other classes in mind. 2 projects, 4 tests, and the very occasional pop quiz. Just study her notes and show up for lab and you'll make an A. Honestly bummed I didn't get to take her for 1409!

Mrs. Iyer is the best. I took her for both 1408 and 1409. I wish she would teach all my classes. When we moved to the online classes this semester, the transition was seamless. She was very organized and the assignments and exams were structured so well that we had no problems adjusting. Best of all, she was very prompt in email and feedback.

An amazing and caring teacher. Very organized! She explains everything so clearly & any question you have, she will answer and helps you understand. The online transition was no problem at all. Lectures are very informative and labs are very hands on. If you have the chance of taking her class, just do it! You won't regret it!

Amazing professor and fun class!

This was a fun class!!!! Even with it being hybrid due to Covid, we did a lot. I really enjoyed the numerous hands-on labs. Mrs. Iyer made sure that by the end of the semester, we were confident in lab and well prepared for the next class. Amazing teacher, prompt with email responses and always available for questions. Professor Iyer was a joy to take for biology. She follows the schedule she sets at the beginning of the semester to a T. I've had teachers that are not helpful during lab projects and expect you to understand everything in an intro class. Iyer would take time to explain lab procedure and then be present to help every step of the way.

The absolute sweetest professor I've ever had. I took her hybrid class and I enjoyed lectures so much. She makes biology fun. Be prepared to purchase the textbook and lab manual. As long as you follow along and do your assignments you will be fine. The tests aren't crazy hard but reading helps alot! She does a project for the final, no essay!!

If you are looking for a fun but informative science class you should take this class. Mrs. Iyer makes leaning fun and by the end of the semester you have hands-on experience with many Biotech/lab skills. I was returning to college after a break and this class has enabled me to continue in Biotech/Biology. Highly recommend the class and instructor

Her hybrid class was phenomenal, and I was able to understand the material easily and effectively. She posts lecture videos each week which are extremely helpful and gives a reasonable amount of assignments/homework. She is so enthusiastic about teaching and is easily accessible at all times. I would choose this professor over and over again!

Highly recommend taking Prof.Iyer. I took her for BIOL 1408 and I am right now in her BIOL 1409 class. Both classes were interesting and fun. She is very organized with her lecture and very prompt with her emails. Students feel very comfortable to ask questions in lecture and lab. Very caring and understanding teacher

Professor Iyer is the most caring teacher I have ever had. I had her for BITC 2431. All the Biotech teachers are great at Lone Star. She does expect you to show up, read, and be prepared. She is a very fair grader and really wants you to be successful, but you do have to put in the work. I would highly recommend taking her classes.

Amazing professor! I am currently in her BIOL 1408 class, and I will surely be taking her BIOL 1409 class in the Spring. The classroom atmosphere is so upbeat...lots of questions, interactions and I am learning so much. Hands down she is the BEST teacher at Lone Star College!

I enjoyed Prof Iyer's 1409 class. I initially took this class as it satisfied my second science requirement but enjoyed it a lot. She is very patient and is always ready to answer questions. She is passionate about Biology and shares that with us. She took time to know, talk to every student in the class, even a quite one like myself. Great class!

She was THE best prof at LoneStar. Her class is well organized, she provides a easily amount of work, extra credit, and review sheets for all exams. She is HILARIOUS and genuinely cares for each and every student. Not one person dropped her class. If you don't take her, you're making a mistake. LOVE HER!!!

Incredibly knowledgeable professor who clearly loves Biology. There is a lot of information to remember for test, but the lectures are really thorough. Labs are so much fun and really provide an on-hand approach to learning the material. You must participate in class as the final is a presentation with questions & it helps to really learn the info.
