I am surprised that she has no ratings on this site yet. She is a really good professor and takes the time to address any concerns you have. She also posts lecture slides on-line so it really helps when studying for exams.
I have had her for two classes and she is the most helpful and down to earth prof there is! Always willing to help and will always give elaborative feedback. Awesome prof who is enthusiastic and is knowledgeable on the material.
good Prof, but does not like when somebody disagrees wit her opinion
Amazing professor! Has a very liberal look on things and does not sugar coat anything. She is very understand and simply wants the best for her students. She is a fair marker though some may easy I found it fair. Puts notes online and makes the class interesting. I highly recommend her.
LOVED HER! Did not attend class what so ever and passed with a B-..... All exams are take home and they're not really exams:S Exam consists of one essay question... TAKE HER!
she will literally sit there with you during an exam and help you out, her lectures can be very draining but she is definitely an easy A even if you dont show up to class, she REALLY wants her students to do well and she tells you the exact questions for the exam. love her!
She's a genuinely nice person who cares about her students & ultimately wants them to succeed - unlike some profs. She's great w. helping students understand the course material & doesn't mark based on participation (which is nice if you're shy like me). Marks are handed out within reasonable timing, she's helpful, knowledgable & very thorough.
Best prof ever! She lectures long but is very interesting while she is! Always take her classes!
She is a very good teacher and definitely knows her stuff. I wouldn't say she is a fair marker because the class is much smaller so she knows everyone in it for the most part. I find that she marks based on the person you are. She is overall a nice professor but I would not take a course with her again. Her midterm and final exam were all essays.
She's a sweetheart and at the end of the day, she really cares for her students. Her lectures were quite mundane and she often just read off the slides. Both exams were written as essays but she provided the specific essay topics weeks before the exam date allowing us to prepare. Overall, good prof and would recommend her!
Awesome! She's super personable and funny, and really knows her stuff. You can tell she's super passionate about her area of study. 3 Hour lectures go by pretty quickly because they are always interesting.
would not recommend taking this class with her! very repetitive and doesn't feel like you're learning much. she reads off her powerpoint and puts them online so don't bother going to class. wasn't willing to answer my questions about my essay because i asked her to talk about how to improve my mark after midterms but read over other students essays
One of my favourite profs. Go to lectures, do the readings, do the work, and you'll be fine. Don't complain that you actually have to apply yourself -- it's university after all. Anke is an amazing prof that will help you if you help yourself. Go to office hours, it's worth it.
One of my favourite professors throughout my four years at Ryerson. She really helps to provide insight to issues facing our world today and is passionate about what she teaches. She is very specific about what she wants in an essay but if you pay attention in class and go over her powerpoints you'll do well.
Professor Allspach is clearly passionate about her work, and it comes out in her lectures. She could talk for days about the material, which could get boring if the topic wasn't interesting. She expects some participation, and there are readings but not too many and they're interesting as well. Understanding and gives good feedback.
Anke was by far my favourite prof this semester. She is very knowledgable and passionate about the subject, and that comes off very clear in her lectures. She includes class participation and conversation in class which makes it go by faster, and is always eager to assist you if needed. She also shows some great documentaries.
Professor Allspach is a great prof. She is very clear on what she wants. This course is mostly logic sense however there are things that we have never known. She tries to be engaging during her lectures, but for the most part she reads off her slides and she gives the topics way ahead of time for the midterm and exams. Oh and her exams are essays..
A great teacher who really knows what shes talking about. Adorable and pretty funny. But beware: her powerpoints suck, so the most important tool you will have when studying are your own notes. Otherwise shes a brilliant and lively teacher who provides her own field experience to the lectures and is as engaging as they come. would take again
Very helpful in her office. She is very approachable and easy to talk to. Her exams were very straight-forward, but she was very critical when grading papers.
Allspach was a great professor. She's very helpful when you attend office hours or after class. She also has a very cute humour and will try to lighten the mood. The material, in general, is heavy on reading and the lectures can be a bit *snooze*. Although attendance is not mandatory, it's obviously a lot easier and clearer if you attend.
This is an Amazing Proff. She is the most accommodating, kindest soul you could possibly meet. Not too many proffs with this much knowledge and understanding. She is highly qualified, more so than many of the other proffs and she really genuinely just wants you to learn and pass. She will give credit where credit is due.
Anke is my favourite professor I have had at Ryerson so far! She is very nice and more than willing to help you succeed!
Anke is a very nice professor, her lectures are fairly interesting with the exception of a few. The course is not what you think it's going to be, it's mainly theory and very little actual learning about the justice system. She assigns one essay with a pretty open ended topic, and both the midterm and final is an essay, she gives the topics before.
She is very passionate and funny. She doesn't sugar coat anything, but is real with us and says things the way they are. She is a little scary, but that's only because she is intimidating in the sense that she demands respect. She HATES students coming in late.
You can see that Anke is passionate about the subject when she lectures. She explains things well and won't hesitate to reiterate if its not clear. There were plenty of other relevant reinforcements such as videos, documentaries, and visitor presentations (many of which were very eye-opening). We had a midterm, an essay, and a take home final.
Overall, Anke was an awesome professor who knows how to engage the class. I did find after the midterm, the lectures became dry as she literally read off the powerpoints. Hard maker? In my opinion, yes. Don't bother asking for a higher grade, because she will most likely NOT change your mark.
This is the third course I took with her. She is definitely nice and sweet and passionate about teaching, however its getting SO tiresome to keep hearing her radical theories, she's constantly blaming every problem in the world on patriarchy and white supremacy - doesn't matter what topic she teaches, it is the same lecture.
I love thos prof! Honestly yes her lectures are long but interesting! Eassy and mid term are interesting essays and take home exam with such a interesting final topic essay... honestly take her class!
She's a very caring lady, her class was very straight forward - one midterm (essay question), one take home essay, and take home final (Essay). I've taken this professor twice now, enjoyed her both times, however if your essay does not take a liberal point of view you will get a low grade because she is a very big socialist.
She if a phenomenal lecturer despite the fact that she has an accent. She tries to engage students the best that she can and always gives feedback the size of an 8 page essay. She is a tough grader but considering how hard she works to try making the material sync into our heads, I think it is kind of fair. I would take her again
Very passionate about the material she teaches. Course consisted of 3 essays that were straightforward if you followed her criteria, however not an easy marker.
I Love this women, and would highly recomend her to anyone. Took her class for the second time and I have learned so much. She is reasonable and very caring of her students. She gave an extention to the whole class based on students stress. I can speak nothing but praise about this prof.
Probably one of my favourite profs I have ever had in my whole three years at ryerson. I will definitely be looking out for other classes shes teaching. She is understanding, a fair marker, and her classes are so engaging. Love her!
So, so sweet. I really wish that I had been more interested in the material, as I really took Dr. Allspach as a prof for granted. She really has a passion for her students and her job.
Professor Allspach is very caring and tries to make sure her lectures are understood by making them detailed and student-oriented. She gives great feedback on papers. CRM100 is paper heavy - 3/4 papers in the course but one is counted as a test and another as the final exam. She is a very kind professor and it shows in her lectures. 100% would rec.
Great teacher overall, really understanding of the demands that student life entails and is thus accommodating almost to a fault. Her lectures may not be the most thrilling, but if you attend as many as possible you will surely not regret the experience. Awesome teacher but an even better person.
By far one of the best profs at Ryerson! She is so passionate about what she teaches and really cares about her students actually learning. The course load is so easy and she is extremely helpful if you have any questions. She knows what she's talking about and teaches it in an interactive way where you are actually able to take something from it.
Professor Allspach is by far one of the nicest and intelligent profs I have encountered at Ryerson. She really cares about her students and loves to engage with her students; and her lectures and evaluations are clear, fair, and well organized. I would take her again.
An absolute gem of a Professor and individual. Shes extremely passionate and engaging when it comes to the topics she teaches. She genuinely cares about her students and is always open to helping them out. Id take her class again if I could. Shes full of energy and makes the content really interesting.
She's very much passionate about the topics she presents and always veers off topic, but in a related fashion. She has lots of personal experiences that relate to the course and its' topics and is willing to share if it's relevant. I didn't do as well as I wanted on the essay and she offered an extension, so I'd say she's very open to flexibility.
She was SO cool, funny and sweet. Really passionate, the class is really easy. She wants you to understand, the midterm is just an essay question and final is take home essay. She was just really fun, makes you wanna go to class and you learn a lot. Had some really awesome guest speakers. It was just a good learning experience, shes rlly helpful
Dr. Anke Allspach is a wonderful, highly intelligent and inspirational Professor - I learned so much from her in this course and would gladly take any courses she teaches again. She is a tough but very fair marker, and makes you want to succeed and study more! Highly recommended!
Shes a nice lady
3 papers (in class midterm essay, normal essay, take home exam essay), so if you're not very strong at writing do not take this course! Honestly was not as easy as everyone is making it out to be, it is not an easy A. Ask for feedback (she also gives extensions) which is helpful.
She outlines exactly the content she wants in your papers, that is if you go to class. So if you don't do well, that's not her fault.
I loved her so much! She is so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about what she teaches. She is also very caring and very understanding.
As a first year I was extremely nervous about starting university, but this prof has helped me so much. She is hands down the most caring person I've encountered and she truly cares about all her students. Her lectures are always interesting and I never tend to get bored of it. I will 100% take any course with her again
Hands down one of the best professors I've had so far as a second year student. She is passionate about course material and makes class interesting. She goes out of her way to ensure all students understand the material and make sure they are prepared for assignments. I would absolutely take a course with her again.
Professor Allspach is the most caring professor at Ryerson who truly wants her students to suceed. Wish all professors could be more like her. Has interesting lectures and grades extremely fairly. Also provides very interesting assignments allowing students to actually take an interest in the work they are doing. Great professor!
I loved her class. She was open and very passionate about each subject matter spoken about. Honestly a good course to take even if your not doing criminology as your main degree.
Grade is made up of 3 essays. English isnt my first language, so I struggle and it takes me longer than others to write a paper. Its really disappointing to put a lot of effort on an essay and yet get a 75 back. If you dont have good writing skills or if youre an international students dont take her. Shes nice but that wont bump ur gpa.
great professor! very kind and cares about her students' success. lectures are easy to understand and she's very passionate about the things she's teaching. Easy marker for essays if you follow the instructions. no textbook, barely any readings. watched some documentaries which were interesting. her lectures aren't super exciting but not boring.
Amazing prof that is very passionate about the course material. Lectures were never boring and neither the readings nor the textbook is necessary. The course had an in-class essay, a take-home essay and then an exam that was also a take-home essay. If your not to big on writing you may not get the highest grade in this class but marking is fair.
She is very nice and she cares for students. She isnt a tough grader but I wouldnt say she is an easy marker either. She is also pretty lenient with deadlines as well. Attendance isnt mandatory as she typically reads from the slides.
i took CRM101 as my 1st year elective and it was an interesting course. Anke was more than willing to discuss assignments in office hours and was very helpful. She's kinda a tough grader though. She's so understanding- gave me an extension no questions asked. The paper was challenging. You can get by without the textbook.
10/10, what an amazing lil lady. sis snaps on every lecture and often lets the class out early, majority of assignments are take home and she deserves the world.
One of the best profs I've ever had. She is a fair marker, is accessible, and actually cares about her students' grades and well-being. Would take her courses a thousand times over
she was always in bad moods throughout class, didn't give proper feedback, and we were only graded on 2 things. I also did not feel accommodated during covid19 pandemic by her class
Professor Allspach is by far the most caring professor I have ever had at Ryerson. She really wants her students to do well and cares about them. She gives examples and more info off of the slides so I personally found attending class helpful. She isn't a tough grader but not super easy either. But very helpful answering any questions.
Very sweet lady. I personally did not do well, but it is because I did not try hard enough which I deeply regret. I wish her nothing but the best, and I highly recommend her!!
Not only a great professor but an amazing human being. I truly enjoyed being in her class. Graded by a few things but if you do well you'll be fine.
This lady is amazing and incredibly intelligent. However, she is an extremely tough grader and doesn't give a clear grading criteria at all. Only graded by 3 things. Theres no way you will pass if you skip lectures as the slides she posts are not thorough at all.
Totally recommend this class with this prof. The class isn't hard at all just put effort into understanding the material and preping for the in class essays and you will do well. The multiple choise midterm was a bit harder but fair so just focus more on that. The class is only graded by three things so a bit tough but not hard to do well on them
Recommend to anybody thinking of taking this course. The first test (30%) was an essay with the questions given beforehand (in her words, to reduce test anxiety). The second test was MC (30%), and tested only on 2 lectures (posted textbook chapters online). Third was take-home final essay (40%) given a month in advance. Doesn't mark hard!
Really cares about the quality of education more than anything.
One of my favorite profs. Loved the lectures since they were engaging and interesting (despite the heavy content). You don't need to do readings to understand content since the slides and lectures cover it all. But textbook & case studies would help for papers. There was a midterm and 2 papers (final was a take home exam where you submit paper).
I loved her class so much! She is always open to answering questions and you can tell really wants all her students to do well. Lectures almost never went the full 3 hours but I think it would be hard to do without them since her slides are too vague otherwise. This class was one of my favourites, the course wasn't too stressful at all.
Good lectures and fair marker
I took ccrm 102 Chang version of the course in 2018 winter. She really cares about students, and their criminology aspirations. Really focused on quality of lectures. Made sure (majority) every single student walked out of each lecture knowing the objective of lessons. The second best prof in ryerson's crim department.
Anke is a very straightforward professor. Her lectures are very interesting, and always keep me engaged. She was very accommodating for me when I missed a midterm due to an injury. I think this is a good thing, but she only has 3-4 evaluations per term, and they're worth a lot. Study hard for those and you'll do fine! Her class was a breeze!
Great professor. It's serious material and I found her lectures to be very eye-opening and inspiring.
Anke is very accommodating. She is a literal angel, I loved her so much. Her lectures are very in dept and she uses a lot of present examples. She knows her stuff. Although this class was only graded by 3 things, meaning they were heavily weighed, she is not that hard of a marker if you know your stuff. Readings are not required tbh just lectures.
Not only one of my favourite professors but one of my favourite educators. Truly a caring professor and I have nothing negative to say. Her lecture slides are super insightful and her marking is very fair. I really hope I get another class with Professor Allspach!
If you want an easy A in an upper liberal, take this class with her. She makes her tests super easy, and her grading criteria for tests/essays is clear + she genuinely follows it + she gives good feedback. She's also clearly passionate about her work and social justice, so lectures are interesting, and she cares about her students. 10/10 recommend.
Dr Allspach is the nicest woman ever, she really cares about her students and what she's teaching. There're only 2 tests and an essay for this course, which is nice, plus Dr Allspach is a pretty lenient grader. Her lecture slides are extremely detailed and easy to understand. If you want an easy course that's actually interesting, take this!
Amazing prof. who cares for her students and her lectures. She made the class enjoyable. We had two essays and one exam which wasn't too hard and time-consuming. She made an effort to get the textbook posted online. I hope to have her as a prof again, she really was great.
One of the best profs I have ever had!! There is one essay and two exams. The exams were easy and the essay had clear cut instructions. I hope to take another class with her and I highly recommend you get her for crm 101. You will not regret choosing her. Having her as a prof will get you an easy A.
I honestly don't think words can describe how sweet professor Allspach is. She genuinely made an effort to make student workloads easier during Covid. She is so caring and passionate when she teaches her lectures, and they make total sense. Her tests are completely reasonable as well. Take a class with her, she is a great professor and person! :)
She is a gem if you want to get a good grade take her there is readings but she specifically tells you what to read prior to exams and makes it really easy
Very kind and caring professor. Did everything she possibly could to make our lives easier during online classes. The course itself had easy content. The essay was fun to do with clear formatting and grading criteria. Exams were also easy. Overall, great lower liberal course if you have her.
Amazing prof! Super into and passionate about what she's teaching. She is very understanding of your other course load and attempts to make it easier for you. Ive taken a few classes with her and I 100% recommend it, won't be let down.
Professor Allspach is very knowledgable in her respected field and strives to ensure everyone understands the material. Her lecture's were always interesting and engaging. Clear outlines for the assignment and she tells students what to study for the exams. Always available on email as well. One of the best Professors at Ryerson in my opinion.
Dr. Allspach is probably my favourite professor ever. She's very knowledgeable and makes the course content fun to learn about. Very clear grading criteria and is specific about what content will be on the exams. She's a true gem and I'm so glad I had her as a prof! I highly recommend taking any class with her.
I had Professor Allspach twice online and I absolutely loved it. She gives great essay topics and feedback. There are two exams which are not too hard but ensure that you do your readings. I would definitely recommend that you choose her for any crm class that she teaches. You wont regret it!
Professor Allspach is the best criminology professor I've had. I loved her lectures and she gives really good feedback on tests and papers. She is not hard-marker, as long as you put in the work. I would definitely recommend taking at least one criminology class with her.
She's not a tough marker and gives you a grade that you deserve. Her tests are also pretty straightforward which are based on the readings and powerpoints.
Prof Allspach cares about her students and what she is teaching. I had issues with some of the questions on the exam and she went out of her way to resolve them. We were marked based on one essay, a midterm exam, and the final exam. Both of the exams were MC and she asked us what topics we would like to write our essay on. 11/10 prof - take her!
She is a gem. Super passionate. Her tests are easy as long as you do the readings. Not really necessary to go to class as it is mostly discussion. However, they are interesting to listen to.
Professor Allspach is so nice and truly cares about her students success! Professor Allspach helps her students succeed by providing good feedback on assignments and her exams are multiple choice and t/f and it is really easy to do very well as along as you do the readings. Overall take ANY and ALL courses you can with her!
lectures were interesting and engaging to attend but not mandatory to do well in the class. One essay and 2 tests. The easy was marked very fairly and easy to complete. Tests were also easy to do make sure to study both the lecture and additional readings and textbook
It is evident that Dr. Anke Allspach is passionate about criminology. The two tests were straightforward and corresponded directly to the given material. The final essay required a lot of in-depth analysis.
Everybody says that she is an easy marker, she is definitely a fair marker but I wouldn't say easy. Assignments and tests weren't all that easy either, you definitely need to put in the work to do well. Overall, she is very knowledgable and talks about very important topics! Her class was interesting. Very brief email responses though
Anke Allspach was the best professor I ever had. She really cares about her students, and her tests are very straight forward and her lectures are very interesting. I definitely recommend taking any class you can with her, she is amazing!
Very caring about students. Mark breakdown was only an AI quiz, an essay and two multiple-choice exams (midterm and final exam) based on the textbook. I would take a class with her in person because I feel like she is very passionate about criminology.
I absolutely LOVE Dr. Allspach. Genuinely one of the sweetest profs I've met. The class is interesting but is very content-heavy, but it's totally fine to skip lectures. The 2 tests are based solely on the textbook so focus more on that (there is also an essay which is quite easy). She's a fair marker and is helpful. Take her if you get the chance
Professor Allspach was amazing! The course had 1 essay and 2 tests. The tests were super easy, and she gave good feedback on the essay. I had this class during covid, so I am unsure how things are in person.
My second time taking Allspach and again I have nothing but accolades for her. She is everything a good prof should be: caring, attentive to student needs, and clear with expectations. I had 2 tests and 1 essay. The tests were straight from the textbook and the essay was fairly marked. I purposely look out for her when looking for CRM classes.
She is so sweet & her exams are easy. (Truly a prof who cares about their students and other people.) She asks for feedback and is overall adorable - well-deserving of her outstanding rating.
she is an amazing professor and you can tell she genuinely cares about her students. Most of the test questions were textbook based, so make sure you read the textbook. With written assignments she grades fairly, so as long as you follow the rubric and set time aside to write it you will do good. I highly recommend her!
This prof is so awesome. She helped my average so much! she's so engaging, kind and respected. she cares for her students and tends to be very flexible. You can always talk to her and she'll try to make it work for you!
A true light in the dark university tunnel of TMU profs. Amazing in everything overall, just a kind person.
take her class! great class discussions and so caring about her students
AMAZING PROF!!!! Take her if you can because she's the most caring and understanding. Her lectures aren't even mandatory : first test based on slides she posted, second test and final based on the text meaning you can basically not attend and still ace
Best professor ever. The slideshows were accessible and really clear. She explained the topics of the class very well.
Truly one of the best professors at TMU. She is so nice, cares about her students and you can tell she really wants students to achieve good marks. The course consisted of an essay, and 2 tests. She's a very easy marker, and her lectures are very interesting. If you have the chance, take CRM100 with allspach, easy A.
Such a great prof and a great person, she cares about her students and is extremely kind. The midterm and exam were online and there was 1 essay and it was actually pretty fun to write. Really wish I had the chance to take her again.
The best professor at TMU. If you ever have a chance to take a course with Anke Allspach you take it. She is a kind and caring individual who will not try to trip you up. She deeply cares about her students and wants to see them succeed. There is a reason she has a 5/5 on here.
Had her for my first lecture and university and I'm glad I had her. She is very nice and posts all her lectures beforehand. Try and find the textbook online because you will need it!! You don't need to go to the lectures (I barely went and still passed) but she is a very good professor all around. Enjoy!
Literally the best professor at the university. So understanding, and gives you more than necessary time for all assignments and tests. Marks fairly and actually makes her lectures interesting as she engages students. I am taking her again next semester for another class because she is so great!
Took this as CCRM101 online.
great class. the textbook is needed in order to succeed and pass the test as well as the exam. However, reading the chapter assigned before the class is not mandatory since she goes over everything in lectures. easy marker. would 100% take the course again.
Professor Allspach created an incredibly friendly and caring atmosphere in the class from day one. Always let her students know about all the resources available at our disposal for support or aid, always reminding us that she is there for us. Her actual content is very straightforward and is very open for extensions and help.
Professor Allspach was okay at best. She was nice and considerate but that class was a joke sorry. The class was not sufficiently engaging for me to care about it tbh. The lectures were basically useless and longer than they should have been. I stopped showing up for essentially the last two months of the semester and still got a decent mark.
She is a very caring, fair, and reasonable professor. The assessments are not too challenging and an A and A+ is very reachable. Highly recommend taking a class with her.
Anke Allspach is hands down one of the best professors I've had in my four years at TMU. Her grading is exceptionally straightforward -- a paper worth 30%, a midterm test worth 30%, and a final exam worth 40%. All three of these were online and were extremely easy. If you want an easy A+, definitely take this class with her!
Anke Allspach is honestly an amazing prof, with very straightforward guidelines on what to expect in her class. She doesn't require a textbook and will always have any readings/material available for students. Her class times are always scheduled at the worst times, but I prefer 8ams with her over any other prof. Definitely take a class with her!
Taking another one of Professor Allspach classes, felt like a breath of fresh air. She is a amazing lecturer, who cares about her students, and marks fairly. She is the definition of a A+ university professor. Maybe she can teach other professors at TMU how to teach properly because I wish more professors were like Allspach.
LOVE HER! She is so sweet and I genuinely love showing up to her classes. Her marking scheme is clear and there are no surprises on tests/ exams with her. I have had multiple classes with her- please take her if you have the chance.
I enjoyed taking this class. This prof was very nice and straightforward with her tests/assignments. There was no surprises. She wanted everyone to be successful in this course. Just make sure you read the materials she provides and you'll get a good grade.
Great professor but the textbook is necessary to do well. You learn a lot from her lectures but they aren't necessary to attend if you do the readings. Each test is based on a selection of different chapters so you don't need to study everything for the final exam. She is an easy grader for essays and her other exams are MC & T/F.
this is just queenie.. she makes lectures so fun and the hours fly by. if you're in first year literally just stick with her as much as you can through your degree and you will pass with EASE! we love you legend.
Absolutely fantastic. Engaging, passionate lectures, and very open to class discussions and questions. Gives detailed feedback on essays, tests and exams consist of material discussed, no surprises. 10/10 prof!
When i tell yall you should take a course just cuz shes the prof. This woman is a vet in the industry, an amazing and passionate lecturer, exams are taken directly from material, no surprises. This is not a prof thatll excuse the bare minimum though, so get ready to be on top of it.
Would highly recommend taking her course either in person or online. Just make sure to attend the lectures and do the weekly readings (its not that much), and you will be fine.
She's an angel. All of her courses have 1 essay and 2 online exams. Super easy if you go to class or read her power points. Go to class though because she is rlly funny and engaging. One time she yelled at me for talking to a boy during class but he ended up sucking so maybe she was just trying to warn me?? Anke if you're reading this I love you
Incredibly straightforward and easy class. The professor is really kind and understanding.
Took CRM 300 with her, she's so amazing I wish I could take all my classes with her. Interesting lectures, fair grader, and the grade breakdown is good, essay (30%), midterm (30%), and final (40%). Both midterm and final was online.
came for free a+ stayed for the lectures
soo sweet and caring, everything is online. truly cares about her students,
This is a bird course, the tests were easy if you actually read through the lecture slides and do the lab readings. This professor is the sweetest you can ever have, im not a criminology major or need any courses in that field however, she tried to make the lecture slides as engaging as possible. If i could take her again I would.
Professor Anke is sweet and caring. The class is straightforward, with helpful lectures and readings. I found Unstuck study great for preparing for the exams. Would take again.
she replaced my prof mid-sem. i should have dropped the class, not worth it
No textbook required. One paper and two exams, all with very clear grading criteria and straightforward to prepare for. Dr. Allspach is very passionate and knowledgeable in her field making discussions engaging and interesting. She is also very considerate towards her students and circumstances they may be experiencing outside of uni life.
Dr. Allspach is one of the best professors at TMU. She is understanding, kind and really cares about her students success. Dr. Allspach lectures was the relation to the real world. It made the lecture easier to understand and fun to learn. Her exams are fair and easy to complete (as no outside sources or materials are needed). Take her class!
one word, AMAZING
Took this class Fall 2023. Anke is the best. Very friendly and very clear on how to succeed in her classes. You are only graded on an essay, one multiple choice midterm, and a final, both of which she gives you exactly what to read, study, and take notes on. She is very digestible for non criminology majors. If you can take a class with her, do it.
Allspach is awesome. She's super open minded and unbiased when it comes to discussing concepts from class and really values opinions of students. This class is sort of content heavy, even online, but a great class. Read what's assigned and try to participate, it's worth it. Assignments and exams are straightforward and completely manageable.
She is amazing but the lectures can get long and might lose your focus through out.
Our professor got switched at the last minute, but Professor Allspach made the most of it and picked up where our previous professor left off. She is a very lenient grader, and even if you've missed the due date for an assignment, she will likely allow you to hand it in. She is very nice and approachable. Take a class with her; you will enjoy it.
This was the best professor I've had at this university. Highly recommend but the lessons are a bit scattered and the lectures are based on the readings. If you do the readings, then you'll be able to pass easily. She encourages participation but not mandatory. Two multiple choice exams and one written exam all online to be done within a week.
We had a last minute swap to this professor around the last 3 weeks of the term yet she made the transition very easy to maintain the already in place expectations. Very lenient and understanding during that period. Great prof!
Great prof who you can tell is passionate about what she teaches. Her exams are super easy if you pay attention. Overall recommend her
Great prof, highly recommend taking her courses
I had this prof for another course as well, her grading and work load is very similar with her other courses. She is a very easy marker and very understanding of her students, if I could choose her for my prof for every course I would. Make sure to show up to lectures as she goes in depth with the concepts.
This is the fourth course I have taken with Dr. Allspach, and I have nothing but good things to say about her. She is incredibly caring and goes above and beyond to ensure that her students are able to achieve good grades in her classes. If you have the opportunity to take a course with her, please do. By far the best professor I have had at TMU.
the kind of prof u want. lectures are cool but attendance not at all mandatory. assignment is v easily graded, and the 2 tests are online and literally copy-paste from the textbook. shes also just very caring and understanding. i submitted smth a day late without any notice and she didnt even take marks off.
all of her tests are online including the exam! her lectures were good! she's very laid back. great prof!
So amazing and so sweet of a person! Really interesting examples given in class and she makes the class very accessible. I would take her again if I wasn't graduating! Do the readings!!!
Overall, Dr. Allspach was a solid prof! I don't think I've ever seen a picture on one of her lecture slides - thats the worst, as all you're seeing is words the entire time. Essay was very clear and straight-forward. Very kind and engages really well with students in open discussions about class topics. Sometimes her tests didn't make sense.
she makes realyl intense eye contact and it lowkey terrifies me when i sit in the front. Her tests are all online which is super convenient and makes them really easy
Prof. Allspach is a passionate person and wants you to understand the severity of certain circumstances/discrimination that you may or may not experience in your life. Her lectures are very interesting and she values student participation. This course taught me a lot, though it is not easy. Do the homework thoroughly! Good for crim students
She is the easiest professor ever and I would take her all 4 years. Never attended class and still got an easy A+. Her lecture slides are detailed enough and she had no in person exam. The midterm and final were based off the textbook and online. Take her for a GPA booster.
What an incredible experience having Professor Allspach. If I could have every single course I ever take again with her, I would rate my TMU experience a 10/10. Clear, beyond caring, engaging, understanding, knowledgeable, supportive. She graciously allowed me a substitute assignment. I will never not advocate for Ms. Allspach.
Hands down best prof in the Crim justice dept at TMU. She genuinely cares, is very compassionate, has clear and easy grading, and is very straight forward. Couldn't recommend her enough
Goated Prof
absolutely love this prof shes so sweet and amazing, anyone who has her, please do take her!
I love her so much, she's literally amazing. Took like 5 classes with her. shes the sweetest prof ever. if you can take a class with her do it.
her midterm + exam were easy, but i'd argue she does not have clear grading criteria for her essays. her essay instructions tell you one thing but if you follow the exact instructions, she'll penalize you for not including things she didn't say you needed to in the instructions, which i find super annoying. nonetheless, she was still sweet.
If you're looking to take a CRM class, you should definitely take this course with her!! My first-ever CRM class, and I got an A+. She covers the essay topics in class, so they're fairly simple to write if you focus on the lecture and take notes. Overall, her lectures were super interesting, and she's very kind. I highly recommend!
I took 3 classes with her and everytime she was amazing with her lectures and everything, she is such a nice and caring prof, i have never ever regret taking any of her class. always been good with exams and assingments and everything is just online. Love her
She was absolutely incredible, great teacher that is knowledgeable and passionate about what she teaches. She's also extremely nice. Midterm and final are both online
Absolutely loved this professor! Prioritizes students' mental health over schoolwork and is respected by all students for this reason. Very fair marker; slides are quite good, and her personality is just the best. Would definitely take another class with her if I could!
genuinely the kindest professor i've had so far! she's so kind and her lectures are interesting enough to make up for how long they are. easiest A+. she complimented my haircut once too so +1 lol
Genuinely the best crim professor at Tmu. She's such a fair grader and overall a great person. It was the easiest course with only 3 evaluations; two online multiple choice exams and an essay.
AMAZING PROF, LOVE HER SO SO MUCH
