Very knowlegeable. If you care about your health or the subject take the class. If you just want an easy A take the gym requirement instead. Must take midterm and final covering multiple chapters including nutritional info and calculations

Great teacher. Will give you a taste of boot camp, but can get you into shape. What else do you expect of a gym teacher? Only complaint is the lousy music she likes to play while you're working out.
shes a great gal
Enthusiastic Professor. There is a lot of information but she curves. Do your projects well and the tests will not kill your overall grade.
She's good....very intereted in what she teaches
what you learn in this class could save your life. she explains everything clearly and you are free to ask any questions. exams are multiple choice and if you read the book and look over the notes you will pass easily. speaks loudly and is funny at times. Excellent prof.
Unprofessional, inmature, socialy uneducted... tha's all i have to say for her
she likes students who suck her up.
Had her many moons ago but can say I really learned quite a bit in her class. She was very supportive of my weight loss and encouraged me to continue. She was happy to hear I stopped smoking too. I will miss her. Her exams were a bit challenging but if you study and do projects no problem.
Really makes you work out but really teaches you how to do it on your own. Very good professor. Like having a personal trainer FOREVER!
On day 1 show up in sweatpants :) You might lose some weight by the end of her course. Her tests are hard so take good notes and read the book, and ask questions.
Gets very excited and teaches with enthusiasm. Her tests can be very difficult - expect lots of minutia, so study notes and text well. Consider P/NCing this class - it's just too much work for such an unimportant class.
Never take her, what an arrogant lady, i wish i could iron her forehead. No respect for students, thinks the people who are overweight should be eliminated, lol.
Test are hard, When she writes on the blackboard (easel)she doesent clarify how it fits together, so its up to the student to figure it out. But very proficent in what she does and very helpful.
Disrespectful, arrogant, rude not someone I would recommend as a health teacher. As oppose to encouraging and helping with stress, she causes stress. Do away with this professor, she/he is bad for your health.

she is okey. she gives out two projects and two exams. taking her class is kind interesting.
Sometimes her expressions and attitude give students the wrong impression. She is excellent and supportive. What you learn in her class could save your life. Ive made life changes to my health as a result of her class.
cool class. two quizzes. very easy if u study and listen during the lessons. Lost 10 lbs in 6 week exercise course. Music sucks but her attitude makes u want to work out. But I don't recommend the 8am session.
She is enthusiastic about excercise but not very clear about the personal assessment sheets you have to fill out, and takes points off for ommissions. Not clear about exam either and takes points off, even though this is an exercise class.
I got a B, learned quite a bit, but she is extremely rude and arrogant. She has very little respect for students and treats them as though they were beneath her. Worst instructor I have ever had.
Don't let her expressions give you the wrong impression. She know's her stuff. And is always willing to explain any material and as much as you need it. I have learned alot and have made adjustments to my life as a result. You have to work, no easy A's, but overall fair
I hate to say it, but she is actually an excellent instructor. I understood everything she taught and got an. However-she is a COMPLETE snob. She favors the dancers and athletes and treats everyone else like crap, especially anyone who is even the slightest bit overweight. She needs to learn how to show respect for other human beings.
her and professor A.Herman should open a boot camp together. feels like they both are very frustrated, incecure (but full of themselves) little angry people that enjoy it to yell at their students. this is a 2 credit class but the work is a lot and then there are 15 hours of field work.
Words cannot express my deep seated hatred for this woman. She is arrogant and condescending. She does not belong in a profession where she has to interact with other decent human beings because she has no people skills. Mind you I studied and did well in her class so I am not just bashing her because I'm mad at my grades I just really despise her.
It was a hard class but I did learn alot. As for her attitude I totally agree with the previous comment. Everyone in my class was scared of her and hesitant to ask her questions due to her nasty attitude and love for belittling others. The only people she was nice to were the athletes in the class.
Not a good experience! If you're taking this class to get out of taking an activity based class, take the activity based class! She is a dragon & most people were afraid to ask her questions b/c of her attitude! She enjoys talking down to most of her students. Don't do it!
Not the best teacher because her notes are scattered all over the bored. and her exams are hard as hell. you have to work hard to get a really good grade in this class. if you need it for the phys ed. requirement, just take an excercise course.

I think that she is a wonderful professor. This is college and you have to work. She doesn't take crap and shouldn't. We're all adults and should expect a challenge. Great professor, learned a lot, and got an awesome test prep for my content exam. If she is going to shut someone up so I can get preped for an exam so be it!
This lady is no joke. Seriously if u need the class for the lasar requirement, just do a gym because its not worth all the work for that one credential. I did really bad and did put a decent amount of work in, but her exams were really hard. Avoid if possible!!!
Contrary to what was said before if u just get to class on time and put some effort into your work u will do very well in her class just try not to be absent alot
What are you guys smoking? Haha, she's great! She gave me an A for the course. Yes, I studied hard by taking notes whenever she spoke and wrote whatever was on the board. She's only mean to people who doesn't listen to her. Goodluck guys and don't worry about what others say on this page. Yes, it's an easy A but you can't just sit and expect it.
She loves her subject. Does not tolerate distractions. If you take notes and do a good job on your 2 projects, you can get an A. I did! She changed my life from a couch potato and I finally took up running. She is sarcastic, but take it with a grain of salt, she really wants you to realize how unhealthy most of us are. Good Professor
She practices what she preaches which is more than I can say for many Prof. here. She knows her stuff and truly cares about your health. I read, studied and did my projects and got an A. Wow, shocking, do the work get an A. Who knew. She is a great prof. you will learn a lot.I recommend her to everyone.
She can be a little mean but does care about the health and wellness of her students. I did learn a lot in her class...and will continue to watch my eating and exercising habits. Her tests are a bit on the difficult side so make sure to study. Projects can be tedious...but they're easy.
Very moody. Some days she's pleasant and helpful. Other days she's impatient and yells a lot. Requires a decent effort. Try to get her to ignore you and I'm sure you'll do fine.
Do not take her. She is the hardest prof EVER. It 's not that serious of a class to have to do this much work. The class is interesting but SO HARD.
Just go to class and show some effort to get an A.
She is really not as bad as people make her out to be. There is no doubt that she is very arrogant.Attendance is crucial and her standards are high.
This class is SO HARD for a fnes class. I am a good student, and im telling you the tests are crazy.SO MUCH INFO. If you are ready for some studying, take her. She is very informative and will inspire you to change your lifestyle, but its not a class for someone whos looking for an easy A.
She is very informative and passionate about the subject at hand, but she could be a much better teacher if she didn't make her tests so hard! They are so detailed that you have to know every single statistic and number in order to get a good grade.
She's devoted to health fitness and you better be on your 'A' game. Two multiple choice exams that come from lecture and textbook as well as projects that can boost your grade. You should attend lectures and take projects seriously if you want to get a good grade. Not as bad as some people make her out to be.
She is tough but fair. She is into health. She wants you to improve your health not just memorize info. I'm super obese. She was so great with me. She even customized some workouts. I highly recommend her. I love her. She made me not hate exercise. Very little written work.Come prepared with gym clothes &towel on the first day. You sweat. Take her!
This class is SO HARD for a fnes class. The tests are hard if you don't study SO MUCH INFO. If you are ready for some studying, take her. She is very informative and will inspire you to change your lifestyle, but its not a class for someone whos looking for an easy A.
You must read the textbook for her class (it's easy reading) her powerpoints are useful but not enough for her exmas. She's serious about what she teaches and really wants to help her students. Don't be late she doesn't seem to like that, she's very helpful before exams. 2 projects(not hard)midterm and final a little hard.
If you have option, take FNES 011(one credit). If you want to take FNES 030 instead of FNES 011, then choose an EASY Professor. In Prof.A.Azzollini's class, it will be really TOUGH to get even B or B+. Most likely you will end up with C or maximum C+ despite studying so many Health STATISTICS.Take right decision,so later you will NOT regret like me.
She's really TOUGH and very passionate about what she teaches so doesn't really make it fun for the class to learn about fitness. Overall, a hard class, too much reading and 2 projects that'll take hours to finish. I wish there was some physical activity involved to cut down on reading material. Hard midterm and final.
She is really passionate about what she teaches but is very nice and cool. Her projects may take a couple of hours to finish but there are only two so its not that bad. Key thing is to pay attention in class and actually understand what she talked about (ask questions). If you do that and review her powerpoints, you're set. Also, don't be late.
She is not easy. I have never seen that kind of horrible professor in my life. She is rude and racial prejudice. I will not recommend to take this anybody.
She is awful professor. She is substitute Lecturer so she does not care about this rating. Her attitude not acceptable.
You people need to stop complaining. Yea maybe its hard for a LASAR but your in college. Stop being lazy!. Prof. Azzolini is a women with a strong attitude whose passionate and knows what she's talking about. I got a B and its because of her that I decided to be a FNES major She is strict and straight forward. Read the book and take good notes.

SHE IS A VERY TOUGH PROFESSOR! Her exams are too tough for the class, she tries to trick you on her exams! If you ask her a question she doesnt know she will talk about randomness until your forget what you asked. She is a very unfair grader even tho she barely reads your papers, SHE PLAYS FAVORITES!!! DO NOT TAKE HER IF YOU CAN AVOID IT.
Her tests are tough, but her project grading is very fair. She is very intelligent and knowledgeable regarding fitness and nutrition. Take her if you actually want to learn; she really will change the way you think. NOT an easy A, however. Test questions were not always clear.
At 1st I didnt like her, but she changed me. She is a professor that demands your attention and respect. She makes you work for your grade and her test are hard, but she is a really good professor, she knows what she is talking about and she is passionate about it, she lives her profession. Be prepared to work.
She is tough, but is so passionate about the subject. She is always available for help. After graduating I still call her up. She is someone you want to stay in touch with. She cares so much for her students. :) Amazing!!
The title of the class was "Fitness Through Diet," which we covered in a single chapter. The rest of the classes were about physical fitness in every other respect. If that's what I wanted to learn, I would have taken a fitness class. Her exams are lengthy and cover everything but what she says to focus on. I'm an A student. I barely passed.
Do not take her class. She never gives reviews and at times she contradicts herself. Honestly, I do not think that students are meant to pass her class. The textbook is not adequate for the content in her syllabus. She honestly introduces questions on her exam that do not match up with the recommended readings. Less than 25% of the class passed.
Attend class, pay attention, do the work, and you will get the grade you deserve. There are chances for extra credit, do it. She knows her stuff, admits her faults, but would like to know her credentials. The professor can be hot and cold. She is also the director of the NES program, so expect her to be on edge during enrollment.
Professor switched in for my desired professor 2 weeks into the semester and it was terrible. She never gives any work back so you have no idea how you are doing in class until final grades are posted. Very smart lady, but not giving back work is a big nono especially when all the work is similar so either all good or all bad. Would not take again
Professor Azzollini is an amazing professor. She comes off as intimidating at first but she really knows her stuff. Her class makes you think outside of the box and use what you learn practically through her projects and exams. If you put in the work, you will do well. I would absolutely recommend her for any FNES class that you need to take.
This professor knows her stuff but when explaining can be very sarcastic and easily irritated if you don't get it. I would not take her again because of her attitude. She also doesn't explain very well and jumps around a lot.
The material in this class is difficult enough yet she will spend at least half the class answering questions that have to do with how much she ran that morning. Will do no review for final and will put a question on from slide #87 bullet point #4. Takes forever to hand back grades bc remember she has a life outside QC. Good luck
Honestly this professor needs to stop doing her job. She makes students feel miserable about themselves. Her tests are hard for no reason cant even explain a topic properly and gets irritated easily if a student doesnt get it. She even admit one time that she didnt care if a student emailed her if they had to be excused due to personal reasons.
I don't know why she is still teaching. She makes the class waaay harder than what it really is, and should be. She expects you to be an expert in the field day one, and gets easily irritated about everything. has a high ego and she acts like the world revolves around her, so if you're not doing it her way, you're instantly wrong. avoid at all cost
Worst professor in Queens college. Say no more, but if you are in FNES major, RIP and good luck
She gave me anxiety. That's all I have to say about this person.
took this professor for fns230 and yeah she completely irritated me. Always screaming and you can't correct her because she is always right. Other than that, I always studied from her lecture slides and all questions were from there. I got to pass the class . Now I'm annoyed because she's the only one teaching fns211.
Sometimes she writes on the board and I have no idea what she wrote. But the notes are given in powerpoints and they're fairly easy to understand. She gives plenty of chances for extra credit and the tests/quizzes are all multiple choice and VERY passable. Not compassionate but it doesn't really matter because the grading is more than fair.
I had her for 353 and 211. She can be intimidating but is very caring in you show her respect. She is very specific with how she wants things and will not settle for less so dont try and do assignments halfassed.
Just DON"T. The professor talks about being professional but she is least professional personal in class. She will walk out of class if class isn't quick to respond. If you're looking for feedback on papers don't expect her to explain anything all comments are vague. You need a B or higher to pass her class. Take the other professor for 211.
She's tough as a Professor, I can't lie. Have questions ready, don't hesitate, even if she seems to be in a bad mood. As difficult as she is, she's also very valuable in the information she gives to students. Her experience and knowledge is worth listening to, but yes, be prepared to be sometimes a little stressed out unnecessarily.
Her experience and knowledge is worth listening to and learning from, but, be prepared to be sometimes a little stressed out unnecessarily. She can be tough to deal with sometimes, but you do get a lot of this course with her. Just be patient.
This women will give you anxiety!! she shouldn't be teaching honestly, she's just terrible, I got a decent grade in her class by luck, AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Prof azzolini has a tough reputation but she is very understanding and knows her stuff. You will attain alot of knowledge from her to help you succeed. She is direct and to the point. Very good professor.
She has a serious attitude problem! You ask her a question and she yells at you. i had no choice but to take her, otherwise never in my life again. i hate dealing with rude people like her! And also, this is a 3 credit class but she treats it as if its a 5 credit class. SO MUCH WORK! she got me ode stressed. she needs mental help.
This professor really needs to stop yelling each time she is asked a question. She expects us to be professional in her class but she is the least professional.
Why did she even become a teacher if she was going to yell at the students? Every time I step foot in her class I just wanna grab one of the weights and smash it to my skull. It so aggravating dealing with someone with a condescending attitude especially when she's the head administer of the major. If you have a passion, she will destroy it.
Her reputation as a tough and stern lady are not false by any means, but she is one of the most caring professors I've ever had. She CARES about her students and doesn't hesitate to scream at them, I think of her more as an cranky Italian mom and I love her for it. Don't let her intimidate you, if you need help ask for it. Intense work load
It is true she comes off as a strict instructor, however she treats her students well. She wants her students to succeed on top of being able to actually learn the course material. She really understands what she is talking about, but exams can be phrased a little too diversely in comparison to what is given in the course material.
Worst character I have come across in a professional environment Yells at her students Hates questions Shows 0 respect She contradicts herself Misgrades tests and assignments and is too proud and arrogant to admit she made a mistake As someone who is obsessed with the gym exercise I can say she has 0 clue what shes taking about for things like form
I see where a lot of the negative comments are coming from. This is the one class this semester that is truly overwhelming to me. Other classes are more flexible but with her, it's normally her way or no way. She yells at the students and do note that she gives pop quizzes. She does know her stuff, but I would avoid this professor.
her assignments are tedious, just have to keep up with them she is old school but i think she's great, she is a tough love kinda professor which i think we all need once in a while. if you are a fnes major, there is no way around her so just do the work haha
Azzollini is an awesome teacher in assessments and lectures, you could learn a lot from her as she is strict and fair. HOWEVER, when she addresses anything new, whether, on the whiteboard or PowerPoint, it begins to be presented very sloppy and confusing, especially on the equations nearing the finals.
She is tough but if you participate, ask questions, study, and turn assignments in on time, you will do well. Definetly take notes
Part 1: So, I looked up to this professor to the moon. I'm thick skinned, didn't mind her unprofessional responses towards me. I considered it tough love to better me in my academics. She is fraudulent, and may have her favorites but to everyone else in my time; very Inconsiderate, disrespectful and unruly.
Part 2:I came back after a couple years from finishing my master's degree in sports science for strength and conditioning research and asked her for a reference( had her for 2-3 classes including the final semester internship class); response was I don't really know you any more.
Will never forget those words EVER. JUST like her boss Dr. Toner who said the magnitude of my argument why I want to continue my master's at Queens comments wasn't convincing him; exact words. She kissed up to this man day and night and did not care about students. My year was 2011 for graduation. I'm only writing this review tohelp future students
MyInternship was butched&all IGot from herWasAsuper weak I'mSorry. JustDoYourBestInsteadOfHelpingMe out;Remember that'sWhatYourGoing2 putOnYourResume.DontTrustHer.She shouldNEVERNEVEReVEReVERbN CHARGEofTHISpROGRAM. DR. FARDY&ESPECIALLY DR. LEMONDA SHOULDofBEEN ABSOLUTE BETTER CANDIDATES.DoesNotCare forstudents, onlyHerName&feeling that sheHas power.
I know way too many students who have changed careers away from our studies in nutrition and exercise sciences, Azzollini and toner just didn't care to help from my experience. I'm a nurse and exercise physiologist by the way just to add credibility into my experience. ZERO HELP FROM either of them. I wasTold she doesn't know my anymore I graduated
Attendance is not allowed to fail you btw as Azzollini literally threatens you with. She is violating policies. Can only be used as there tool of "10%" grading structure. As she may or may not treat you. Remember, go to the dean of academics and make an issue of it
She is strict but her work isn't overall that hard and in that class you are forced to make friends, so it made the class to be much easier, cause most work was group work to be honest.
Tough personality, but if you put the work in you will pass. The hardest thing about the course is well, her. If you make a mistake she will let you know, sometimes in front of the whole class. The material is fairly easy, just be ready to answer her questions; she will randomly drop quizzes on you. Get ready to design a full exercise program.
Professor Azzollini is an intense but caring instructor. While the workload is heavy, she wants you to succeed. Engaging in class and using Unstuck study for study prep can really pay off.
I can say although very tough personality wise, Azzolini isn't as bad as shes made out to be. The grading can be tough and she does get obnoxiously loud at times but realistically if you can get past that her classes are easy content wise and you'll learn a thing or two. I recommend just learning to tune her out b/c it only gets easier after.
