not that hard... she gives you 2 basic questions that are on every single test..
She is so sweet, and actually tries to make class interesting, unlike many others. She is prob. the most straight foward teacher I have ever had, as far as tests go. I definately recommend her!!!!
She is very annoying. Her notes are sometimes jumbled, but the tests are okay.
I like Dr. Presley alot. It was an interesting class! I would recommend her!
She has one of the most annoying voices I've ever heard. I feel like she doesn't actually teach anything, because her notes are verbatim what's in the book. The 2 times I've asked her a question she's been completely unhelpful and acted like I was the biggest inconvenience of her day. No thanks!
Dr. Presley is something else. She's got a very bubbly attitude. Her facial expressions and the way she talks just cracks me up! She always scared me by the way she walks in the tall heels that she wears! She fell in class one day, OMG...I couldn't stop laughing. You'll like her! Tests are alright.
She is okay. Not very good with giving you the notes you need for the test. The tests are kinda tricky and i think she does this on purpose. 105 question test in 50 minutes?
Yeah, be sure to know your material because the previous statement is true. Her tests consists of about 100 questions, and if you're in a 50 minute class, that doesn't give you a lot of time to spend deciding which answer is correct! A LOT of notes...ugh :P
She is strict when it comes to attendance. If you miss more than 3 days of class, you drop a letter grade! Doesn't really like to be asked questions during lectures. The class would be more fun if it wasn't for the numerous pages of notes! Study ahead of time! Stressful taking a 100 ? test in 50 min
She gets very annoyed when cell phones start going off. Oh...and don't let her catch you text messaging someone, she called out someone in class for doing that! Notes (on PowerPoint) are very confusing - hard to follow, not to mention hard to study when the tests come around!
Dr. Presley is very clear. She is the only teacher I have had that gives review sheets. You can tell that she cares about students and wants to make the class as interesting as possible.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this class. Yes there are a lot of notes; however, this is a core class. She has a sense of humor, and since she isn't monotone, it makes the material more interesting. I will definitely take her again for any classes in the future. Very nice, and approachable w/ questions!
Tests come straight from the notes and review sheet. She makes class very interesting and worth attending. Def. take her class!
great teacher, very clear, tests are multiple choice, matching, and true/false so every kind of test taker has a strong point.. tests come from notes, don't buy book - don't miss class, quizzes every friday (easy - straight memorization).. class is extremely interesting, take her!
Really nice and interested in helping her students. She gives review sheets of key terms that are on the test. Tests are a little hard, but I was lazy and didn't study as much as I should've. Quizzes are really easy. Swatch kit took alot of time, but was easy to put together. Only bad thing was the GTA, who was Korean and really hard to understand.

GO TO CLASS or YOU WILL NOT DO WELL!!!!
She is sweet...but there is SO MUCH information on the tests.
She's fun. A lot of class disscussions. She is somewhat snobby at times. Her first 2 tests are really hard. Study!! She has weekly quizzes but they take about 20 minutes to study for. Take the class it's not too bad.
This class is definately difficult, her tests are EXTREMELY hard! Study every detail. Make sure you go to class or else there is no way you could pass. There is a lot of note taking so be ready. She does not give you any ideas about what your grade is in the class (never got back half of the quizes), and never returns emails
Dont buy the book. Go to class because all you do is take notes. Tests are hard but if you study hard they are fair. Professor is monotone and boring but its a mangeable class
Dr. Presley definately knows what she is teaching really well, but she gets off topic a lot. All of her notes come directly from a ppt. I feel like I didn't learn from this method, I felt like I had to memorize. Her tests are pretty difficult. She cancels class a lot. She is a nice lady but just an ok teacher.
She knows what she is talking about, but has a monotone voice which makes it very boring. You must go to class to get notes for the test. The test are very hard it is over 100 multiple choice questions and with no study guide. If you can get this class without taking her I would defiantly do it!
I really enjoyed her class. As long as you go to class and take notes, and little side notes on what she says that are not in the notes, you'll do well. No study guide, 105 multi-choice questions. No study guide, no book! The quizzes are easy, just study 20 minutes in advanced and do the design details! I highly recommend her class!
She is just okay. She tries to make it interesting, but it is really easy to lose your concentration. The tests are okay too, but you have to study. She gives good extra credit opportunities though. Take advantage of the weekly quizzes. They're an easy 100 to boost you up.
Dr. Presley is very knowledgeable and offers interesting and useful insights on the industry as she reads off the powerpoint. A ton of information is covered in this class, so complete notetaking is important to do well on exams. Her design detail weekly quizzes are easy memorization to boost your grade.
Great teacher. Lots of chances for extra credit.
I took her study abroad class to London! It was super fun. There was nothing really negative about her or the class besides the assignments after the trip. If you are taking her for the same class I would try to do them while you are flying back to the states. I waited to the last minute and It was awful.
never communicate with students. too much stuff to cover if skip class, lose letter grade do NOT take her class
Dr. Presley was so sweet! Her tests were straightforward from the powerpoints, but due to the amount of information it still required lots of studying. We had a couple of projects but they were super easy and if you just do them you'll get full credit. She offered extra credit every now and then, and also cancelled class many Friday's which rocked!
She's a great teacher. It's important to show up for every class. The tests are reasonable and pretty easy if you study.
She's kinda a hot mess but gives lots of easy assignments and some extra credit. Tests aren't too bad but the in class assignments bring up any meh test grades.
Easiest class. No tricks, clear lectures-she gives ppt and you fill in blanks so you need to show up or have a friend who shows up. She gives 4 participation ops. but you have to be in class and she wont always tell you when they will be. You only need 3 of them and the 4th will be extra credit. Pinterest project super easy, stick to rubric
Be ready to take notes. She is a great lecture teacher and gives you the slides half way filled out and you do the rest. She gives study guides for the test. If you show up, DO THE IN CLASS PARTICIPATION POINTS, and take notes, you will do great in the class. Show up though because she gives unannounced participation points and they save your grade
This class can be boring at times but is straightforward. Even though she does not take attendance, it is important to show up and take notes. Note-taking is filling in the blanks on her posted powerpoints (with some additional points from class.) Also 3-4 participation point assignments in class. The tests are not hard if you know your stuff.
No comprehensive final. Fairly easy class with four tests and one project. The material (mostly) is common sense.
i do not like her lack of bias, but this was an easy enjoyable class.
I generally liked this class. While it wasn't the most interesting, it was fairly easy. Attendance isn't mandatory, but go to as many as possible so you can try and get extra credit at the end of the semester. To study for the tests, just memorize the lectures and you'll get an A. Overall, and easy class if you do exactly what she tells you to do.
The lectures are online so attendance isn't mandatory but you get a few points a day for showing up so you'll need to go most of the time. Tests are pretty easy and the project is super easy.
If you go to class and spend a little time actually studying the notes from class before the test this class will be an easy A. Her lectures aren't super boring and shes a super nice professor. She does do in class assignments 1-2 times a week so I would go to class to get those points but she actually posts videos of the lectures on canvas too
Dr. Presley is one of my favorite professors at Auburn. Her class is interesting and I find it very interesting. Definitely an easy class as long as you come to class. Tests are fairly easy. She gives extra credit as well.
Good teacher. As long as you study lectures (& details) you will do fairly well. You use learning catalytics which is basically an easy online pop quiz at the end of 2/3 classes. You can use notes & thats what they use in place of attendance. If you get 100/130 points, then you get 100% for that, so missing a few is okay.
Interesting class, uses powerpoints with blanks that you fill in during the lecture. Final is not cumulative. Uses learning catalytics to take attendance about 3/4 of the time. Sometimes the tests are worded weirdly but they're good about taking out bad questions. One project that's pretty easy, 4 other tests and LC are the only grades.
She goes so off topic in lectures, it is annoying and hard to follow. She tries to be current and it's cringey. The powerpoints are fill in the blank, so note-taking is not hard. Easiest exams, with all questions on Quizlets online. You don't have to show up, unless you want Learning Catalytics to boost your grade with bonus.
Presley is a good professor. She lectures the whole time, but with fill in the blank notes on a powerpoint. Attendance is not mandatory, but there are participation questions twice a week at the end of the lecture for a part of your grade. Also had a pretty easy project at the end which can help your grade if you work hard enough.
This class is easy if you go to class, take detailed notes, and memorize the lectures for the tests. She goes through the lectures pretty fast, so it can be hard to keep up, but she has powerpoint slides to follow.
Dr. Presley is by far one of my favorite professors at Auburn. She is funny and makes the class interesting. While the course mostly lectures with fill in the blank powerpoint slides, I find the class quite interesting. She gives study guides for the tests and the final is not cumulative. Highly recommend.
Shes kind of quirky and annoying but overall pretty good. Class isnt mandatory but she does random participation points during the week that counts towards attendance. Her tests are all online and oddly very hard for how easy the class seems. She also goes through the lectures very fast its hard to keep up.
She is the best! She is definitely quirky, she's very funny and always asks the class about Auburn Football. She gives fill in the blank notes, and the tests always come directly from the notes. She does go really really fast, so you have to pay attention. Attendance is not mandatory, sometimes she does participation points online, tests online too
Pre-warning that I'm coming on here with a blind rage that I am making the same grade in this "easy" class that I am in CHEM 2. Freaking ridiculously long powerpoints per test and as much as I did to prepare (ALOT) I still got mid-Bs. I am a VERY good studier and hold a 3.7 GPA with hard science classes yet this class was ridiculously difficult.
Dr. Presley is so sweet and funny. Her tests are a little bit difficult as each one has a LOT of material on it, but the learning catalytics program she uses in class will carry your grade as long as youre there to do it every day. Would love to take her again!
Presley loved teaching this class which made me love it & her. We had 4 tests that were loaded with info. She gives study guides that are helpful, but super long. Write down everything she says in class (or writes on the board) because they'll be on the tests. She tweets test hints, and ended up letting students exempt the final if we had an A!
Dr. Presley is one of my favorite professors at Auburn. She is very knowledgable and tries to make the class interesting. The exams are not bad as long as you come to class and pay attention. She also gives study guides to help you out. Overall it's a fairly easy class, just a lot of information to remember.
Had a good experience with this professor. All of her tests come straight from her lectures, so make sure to study those good. If you do, your pretty much guaranteed an A in her class. Also, going to class for participation points and doing an easy project will help your grade a lot.
I wouldn't advise taking this class as a mini-semester because it contains a lot of material. She didn't answer my emails (which was frustrating bc it was an online class), but she seemed nice and her tests come straight from her lectures. She sometimes gave extra credit on her tests, too. Just study the lectures thoroughly, and you should be fine!
Dr. Presley is a very nice professor but her classes can be tough. It's a lot of memorization and her exams often cover a lot of material. However, she does give extra credit and occasionally will scale exams if everyone does poorly. Overall, I would recommend taking Dr. Presley but maybe not for Textiles.
Dr. Presley is really nice and a cool teacher but she does not allow technology so all notes are handwritten, and let me tell you there are A LOT of notes. Textiles has an absurd amount of information on each test and is really stressful studying for it, cool lady but get ready to memorize 1 million things per test
She is a good teacher. Very heavy lecture course. You have to study for History of Costume. The tests are pretty hard because of the terms and knowing time periods. There is all fill in the blanks. But, she is a great person and teacher.
She's very sweet and a good professor, but the class is all lecture and tests are loaded up with a lot of information which stresses me out. However, she does scale tests and labs are easy too. Also, I never used the book so save your money!
This is the most boring class I have ever taken. Only lectures for the full class and more spouting facts than teaching. Tests have half material you dont learn in class and you have to study every inch of the notes (2ish pages a class, for me). Doesnt communicate well/answer emails. Was kinda rude to my class.
I had her this past semester with it all online. Other students complained it was "too hard" or "not enough time for tests" I disagree. She challenges you and is certainly heavy on memorization, so get your flashcards ready and start studying once she teaches the material, but it's 100% doable to get an A if you just study and attend class.
I'm a junior and Ann Presley is the worst teacher I've ever had throughout my academic career. She never answers emails and does not care about her students whatsoever. Her tests are long and insanely difficult and she only gives us 60 minutes to take them at a certain time of day. Her lectures and tests do not align. DO NOT TAKE A CLASS W/ PRESLEY
If you want fill in the blank lectures like you are in middle school, a teacher who doesn't email you back (No like really), AND if you want to get blamed for practice quiz questions being wrong on the actual test, then this is exactly the class for you. If you like to be treated with decency though, I wouldn't recommend. AT. ALL. PERIOD.
She is sweet & means well, definitely holds you accountable to your assignments. I have heard that she is better in person, I would not recommend taking any of her classes online. She was a bit hard to get in contact with over email, but overall not a difficult prof if you put the effort and work in.
This was an extremely frustrating class. Tests were often full of information that we had not learned in class. Also, when questions were messed up on the exam she would not respond to emails concerning the mess up.
Inconsiderate and does not care about her students well-being. Does not answer emails for weeks at a time, and when she does respond it is usually inappropriate/not helpful. Honestly an embarrassment to Auburn University. She made me want to drop out, and she did not cover any decades past the 1960s in a 1910-present class.
I had Dr. Presley three times for my CADS courses. She is a good professor, but can be tricky sometimes. One thing that was frustrating is she does NOT answer emails after tests/finals. It's like she turns off her computer. I made a 102 on the final and I emailed her 3 times if she could round my 79.85% to a B and she NEVER once emailed me back.
I started at Auburn a year ago and Dr. Presley's teaching style was hard to figure out at first. I will say once you figure out what she wants and how to study you will be fine. I will say she does go fast in lectures and you have to outline the whole chapters in order to do good in the class. Otherwise she is tough, but a good teacher.
Unfortunately, if you are an Apparel Merchandising major, there is no avoiding Presley. Get ready to dedicate triple the amount of time to one of her classes as opposed to your others. Extremely lecture heavy. The class is not impossible, but start studying the second you get new material. It's a lot of information. Good luck.
She really is not that bad. This class is interesting due to the material. Shes overall honestly fine and can be kind of funny
Very very lecture-heavy and by that I mean be prepared to sit in class and listen to her ramble off twenty slides of a forty-slide PowerPoint and never mention the rest of the slides again, and then be tested on the exact details from all forty slides. Very long difficult tests and very inaccessible outside of class time.
This class is long because it just lectures but she is nice and tries to be understanding. Studying is necessary to get a good grade but she curves tests. There is no textbook or homework, just 4 exams and a weekly open note quiz. The exams are all multiple choice. I don't know why she has bad reviews, she is nice and approachable.
This is a difficult class and very much like CADS 1600. It is taught the same, and I am pretty sure it is almost the same content. It is very lecture heavy & a lot to remember. Dr. Presley isn't bad & means well, this class & how it is ran could use improvement. She was encouraging & supportive when it came to issues with the lab which I appreciate
My experience with Presley was harder previously but I really enjoyed this class. The lectures are very interesting. The grading is solely her powerpoint lectures and one project (which she graded very generously). I would definitely take this again. You get two unexcused absences
I had Presley for CADS 1600: Textile Industrial Complex and I really enjoyed the class. Cons: She's hard to access outside of class, terrible at responding to emails, only works with you in person, attendance mandatory. Pros: 4 exams with weekly quizzes. Not difficult if you put in the work. Very lecture heavy; no textbook = no reading req.
Good luck getting extra credit. Does not care about your grade.
Dr. Presley is a great teacher and is very kind. If you go to class and study thoroughly for the exam, you can easily make a good grade in the class.
This class is extremely hard and she does not care. There are 4 exams based off 3+ weeks of material that is out of order and confusing. She does not answer her email, does not round grades, or give extra credit. Although, she is a nice lady she is a difficult professor. Even good notes do not help when studying for exams.
Professor Presley means very well but her classroom structure is very difficult which can make her classes extremely difficult at times. You cannot get her to answer emails, there are only four exams, some homework, and a swatch kit to complete. She takes attendance everyday!
Dr. Presley is a fine teacher, but the way she does class is frustrating. She reads off of a powerpoint, and only posts blank powerpoints that you then have to fill in by being in class. She won't post the full versions. She's impossible to email, she simply won't respond. The exams have a good portion of material we've never discussed.
Pay attention during class, you will do just fine. Tests are long+multiple choice but not super difficult. She adds a few extra credit q's. I've taken 3 Presley classes, and I really can't complain. She cracks a few funny jokes here and there, and I find its helpful to get to know her as a teacher- she loves to chat! Swatch book is a pain tho
Dr. Presley, while being a nice person is extremely hard to get in touch with. She rarely reads and responds the her emails (currently waiting on a response from 4 months ago). Her class is fully lecture based and grades are only exams which are always over 100 questions.
Lecture heavy class with fill in the blank PowerPoints you can only get in class. Professor is very nice but hard to get in touch with outside of class. Long multiple-choice tests, know the lecture material. Few quizzes that affect grade very little. Extremely test heavy class.
Classes are based off fill in the blank powerpoints that you can only get through class. She tracks attendance every lecture, it will effect your grade if you miss too many. She's very nice and happy to talk with you about her classes or grades. She does not reply to emails, you have to talk to her in class. Easy tests if you study quizlets.
I was fine with this professor until she started ghosting me on email. I have emailed her about so many different things, however, she picks and chooses which email to reply to. Other than that, the material is fairly easy and the tests aren't bad. Each test has 100 questions and 10 bonus questions. But the tests are your only grade.
I loved Dr. Presley! I have had her twice and each class I have taken with her has been made very interesting by the way she teaches. She is clearly passionate about what she is teaching. Attendance is important; make sure to take notes on what she is saying rather than the PowerPoints themselves to succeed in the class.
She is a very sweet and kind lady, and she makes her classes very interesting, but there aren't study guides for the test, so you have to go through and re-read all the slide shows. There isn't a final- it is just another regular test.
