Great class and professor! Shes really funny and has great lectures. It would be hard to pass without coming to class though. Test consist of class materials, video lectures, vocab terms, articles, and stories in the text book (its not hard if you put effort) Other grades- quiz's, activities, and a few extra credit opportunity. Take her class!

Awesome prof. Her tests are a bit hard but nothing too crazy. If you go to class and study a bit before the tests, you should be OK. The activities she gives are awesome. The first week I was scared to stay in the class, but she makes it very interesting and I'm glad I stuck it out. Also, no final or midterm, just 3 tests spaced out evenly.

Great lectures, read textbook, pay attention to powerpoints

The work is straight forward. Only snag is the heavy reading, but it's more literary than scientific, so you just have to manage your time and memorize the terms. She's a cool teacher, and serious about her role, so she isn't lazy about grading or giving feedback. The workload is dense but grade-school level, and she works with you not against you.

Great professor. The material is very interesting and the assignments are enjoyable. As long as you show up to class and pay attention to lectures you will pass. She gives plenty of extra credit and keeps your on track with grading. If you have the opportunity take this course.

She's awesome! I took her cultural anthropology class this fall b and it was great! I learned a lot, she's a great professor who actually knows how to teach, whether you're a visual, audio, or kinesthetic learner. There were 3 pop quizzes that actually counted, more for extra credit, and three activity projects, some with a partner. Take her class!

I think she taught really well. Shes very nice. But her tests were kinda hard. I think she should have provided study guide or power points through the material. She had 3 activity's, 3 pop quizzes and 3 tests. LOADS of extra credit. Overall i would recommend her if you really want to work for this class, regarding tests.

Coming to class is important because there are pop quizzes and tests come from the PowerPoints presented in class. She is willing to work with you to get the grade you want

She gives lectures but doesn't post the PowerPoint online, so you have to pay attention in class. She's pretty funny and it makes it easier to remember a lot of topics

Harder class than I was expecting. Tests are difficult, no study guides, she goes REALLY fast through her lectures, and doesn't post her PPTs on Canvas so if you miss something you miss it. 3 tests, 3 "pop" quizzes, and 3 essays. Attendance is important even though not required. Nice professor who cares about her students and also gives lots of EC!

She's hilarious and very energetic. Has a laid-back attitude and is generous. Gives good feedback on homework, quizzes, and tests. Provides a lot of extra credit. There are a lot of papers, lecture heavy, and several group projects.

I recommend this professor 100% to any student! She is amazing and gives loads of extra credit. If you're looking for an easy A she is your best bet! She is hilarious and her lectures are never boring. If I could take her again for another class I would in a heart beat.

Professor Laffey is a very good professor and very caring. Show up to class and pay attention to lectures and you will be fine. She gives plenty of extra credit so do the extra credit and you will be fine. There are activities that are given but they are not hard at all.

Professor Laffey is deeply invested in her class and would love for her students to do the same. She has about 3 pop quizzes but aside from that the class has everything clearly written out. Study for exams and you'll be more than fine.

She is really funnny and makes you feel really comfortable talking about sex .She offers lots of extra credit so even if you dont pass a test you can still pass the class with a decent grade

Great Teacher! Gives a ton of extra credit opportunities. Lecture are most the class but she is a well spoken teacher. The book is required, but the only thing you need out of it is the vocab word. Beware you will have to travel for project in this class.

Overall she is a great professor. Attending class is mandatory since she doesnt put the lecture PowerPoint on canvas. She gives out a lot of extra credit so passing the class isnt that hard. Just make sure to study for the exams or you wont pass.

Though you don't use the textbook much in this class, she only has her power-points in class and not online so coming to class is important. The tests aren't bad if you study the notes. She's super funny and offer tons of funny extra credit. Don't take this class if you're immature.

MRs. Laffey was a great professor, she taught well and her lectures were all pretty funny and made everyone feel comfortable even with the subject matter, the assignments were kinda fun. Some of the papers are a bit long but she gives quick and great feedback on all your assignments.

Ms. Laffey was an excellent teacher. I did bad on the first exam due to test anxiety and she offered to go over the test with me without me even asking her. She is very elaborate in her lectures and if you pay attention you will receive the exam answers. Overall, I would retake this class just to take in more information.

Professor Laffey really cares about her students. She lays out the goals and expectations of the class on day one and does a good job sticking to them. You'll have to work (3 essays, tests, occasional homework, and pop-quizzes) but she does give a lot of extra credit. Powerpoints aren't the best though and it's easy to miss stuff if not careful.

Professor Laffey's Human Sexuality and Culture course is an invaluable class which I feel every college student should take. You don't just focus on sex, you focus on life and self-awareness. The things you learn in this class can literally save your life.

I didnt necessarily attend class every day, but still managed to keep track of everything and finish the semester with an A. Not too hard, she truly enjoys what she does and you can see that, she also really does want you to learn and care about your success.

Hands down one of the best professors I've ever had. She is very passionate about what she teaches. It is almost impossible not to pass her class. She gives numerous amounts of extra credit and will work with you to get the grade you want. Definitely would take her again.

She was probably the coolest teacher I have ever had over at Santa Fe College. She was so nice and went into such depth with each chapter and lesson. The class itself is so interesting, and the assignments are awesome. The assignments and exams are slightly challenging but totally doable.

She was probably the best professor that i ever had in college! The classes were so interesting, she is very passionate about her field and explains everything in a very enthusiastic and entertaining way. There were 3 exams. For the final exam you get to take it with you so you can upload the answers later.

Best professor I have taken at SFC I absolutely love her! I love that she has a passion for anthropology and the environment she provides is great. She interacts with the students and explains anything clearly if you are stuck. You do have to pay attention and take notes if you want to pass. I would say her exams are heavily based on lectures.

Dr. Laffey is one of the greatest professors I've ever had so far. I'm not someone who enjoys studying and putting forth maximum effort to pass, I just like to do what gets me by but the little effort I take in Dr. Laffey's class helps a lot. She's always willing to answer questions and takes the time out of her day to help students with grades.

Professor Laffey was hands down the best teacher I have had in college so far. She is very welcoming and teaches in a way that makes class so much fun. She is always willing to explain something further if you don't understand and prepares you for the exams. 10/10 would recommend taking her!!

I have nothing negative to say about prof Laffey. Her lectures are fun and animated to where you can retain knowledge and better understand the chapters. The only things is that when shes behind in grading and you turn something in late your grade is put in last. Although she gets it in eventually.

Theres a bunch of extra credit opportunities, 3 pop quizzes, 2 tests and a final, 3 papers that are 750 words but with interesting topics. Really enjoyed this class and would take her again for sure.

Honestly one of the best professors I have ever had. There is a lot of extra credit offered, but make sure you study definitions for the tests! I loved this professor, she was very intelligent, funny, and caring. She gives tons of extra credit and easy assignments that boost your grade. Only bad things is that she assigns papers/homework with only 1 weeks notice and some assignments require submitting selfies and interviewing people. I took her in Fall 2018, and she was fantastic. She cares about your success and her classes are interesting. Although there is definitely a good amount of material to read, it isn't hard to get an A if you put in work and attend classes.

By analysing the course and the things she did for the class, she truly deserves a 5. I take my hat off with this proffesor. She was very friendly and understandable with her student. She comunicates well and make things clear for everyone. But if you don't understand, just ask her and she will repond.

Attendance is a must! she has a lot of assignments/papers which are given out in class. If you put forth the effort and partner up you will do well. The course information is too important not to take it. She has a great personality and is great with explanations and lectures. I hope to have her again.

Professor Laffey has been one of the best teachers I've ever had. I took her for Human Sexuality and she was very educated on the topic and made uncomfortable topics easy to learn. She's just a really solid professor. She is engaging, passionate, caring, and she knows her stuff. She likes what she does, and she makes you like it. What's more, she gives a lot of extra credit. She may come off as a little intimidating at first, but trust me, she is so nice, and she is so good at getting the class involved and working with you.

Love her! She is so passionate about Anthropology and it really translate to her teaching. Only one group project. Loads of extra credit! Just do the modules and you will pass her tests. There is also a book that she has us read that correlates to the material. There is an extra credit book club you can go to, to read the book and discuss chapters.

Professor Laffey is the hidden gem of Santa Fe! Her class was very informative/taught me a lot that I wasn't aware of before! She made learning enjoyable and I always looked forward to her class! She's super responsive and gives you plenty of feedback. Not only that but she is just an overall awesome human, I'll miss her class and her kind words!

Prof Laffey is really good. The class is super easy if you just do the work. There are small hw assignments (which are really easy) and then 3 tests I believe and extra credit. There is one project which is like a field project where you actually have to go and write a paper about. I failed one test and still came out with a B+.

I loved Professor Laffey, she was super funny, relaxed, and super smart. She knows what she's talking about and actually cares about what she's teaching. The material was attention-grabbing and beyond interesting. Everything we learned always got my mind racing with knowledge and fascination.

She is an amazing teacher! I believe that because human sexuality is an underappreciated subject that needs to be talked about, she creates a lot of assignments that capture the student's mind. I found her class fascinating, at least as a psych major.

She was such a great teacher, she is super nice and sweet and funny too. I would definitely take her again. Her class is easy but eventually gives a lot of work but she is understanding and really cares about you. Her work isnt complicated and does everything to make sure that we understand what shes teaching.

Easy A. I skipped over half the lectures and have a high A. Open book tests, lots of assignments but they're very easy. One big essay which sucked. Never responded to my emails but whatever, and seemed disorganized sometimes. Wish I knew how personal this class would get before I took it, some assignments are uncomfortable and I felt misinformed.

Professor Laffey was great. She's really funny and not afraid to call things out or speak her mind. There is a lot of work, but nothing insanely difficult. Show up to lectures and read the material and you'll be fine on quizzes. She made the course super interesting and fun.

Her class was very captivating and super easy. I enjoyed all her assignments. She does give many quizzes and class discussions each week. The only thing I despised was this very long essay that is honestly not necessary for her class. She offers many extra credit and it helps. She's funny though, and responds back usually in less than 24 hours.

Professor Laffey is very energetic and makes her class a very inclusive environment. There are a lot of group discussion and group projects so participation matters. She's very caring and wants her students to succeed.

The lectures she gave were great. I will agree that the class was overall disorganized, unfortunately. The GELO assignment was not hard to complete. She gave everybody numerous warnings about turning it in on time - the rubric laid it out well, too. The other assignments can be overwhelming if you are not an artistically creative person (I'm not).

Her classes are fun and entertaining, if you enjoy anthropology, and the work is not hard and quizzes are easy enough if you pay attention. She is also so sweet and caring for her students. Professor Laffey has lots of insight into the field of anthropology and I would take her class again; however, I feel there was too much homework without much announcement and it became too much for most of the students in her class. Attendance is not mandatory but it would be difficult not having in class notes for tests and homework.

I took her honors course and it was fairly simple, there is a clear critirea and she will give you full creative liberty on every project. There are 3 main projects but they are very easy to do. She is super caring and if you need help or to push back a deadline she will do everything she can to help. If you can, absolutely take her course!

I took her Human Sexuality class in the Spring 2022, and I absolutely loved it. I was extremely intimidated at first because she's very interactive with the class but I got used to it. She was very honest, easy-going, and fun. She had a great personality and I will be taking her again in the Fall. Loved her! Do expect a lot of assignments though!

Professor Laffey was ABSOLUTELY the best of the best professors I have taken, if she taught any other courses for my degree, I would take her over and over and over again. I wish I was exaggerating. This is my second class with Laffey, she's an awesome lecturer and very understanding. She can be a bit disorganized and take a while to grade things, but the bright side of that is she's fairly forgiving with late work (as long as its not like more than a month) and while attendance isnt counted i still highly recommend showing up for lectures

Really funny, great professor. Class is VERY heavy on assignments, lots of additional extra credit assignments, especially if going to class. Lots of group and participation activities as well. She does not grade hard, however, and there are lots of opportunities for self-expression & creativity.
