She is a great teacher, helps all the students, and provides a great study guide to make sure you are 100 percent prepared for her tests.
took her for a&p1. liked her so much im taking her at a class time totally inconvenient for me just to be able to take her. really helps alot. very clear notes. gives study guides for tests. tests are extremely fair. offers review sessions a couple of times a semester. all around great teacher. definitely recommend her
I had Prof. Burke for A&P II. She was nice but extremely flighty. She couldn't remember which A&P II class she taught what to. She also was overheard bad mouthing my class to her other class. She was ok but I wouldn't take her again if I didn't have to.
does not know the material that well... canceled class and review sessions a lot, and was always forgetting to bring corrected homeworks to hand out in class. her homework is rediculous and useless...tests are pretty easy...not an outstanding professor, but not the worst
Extrememly Fair. A & P is not an easy course in general but she enjoys it and maks it easy to understand.
Professopr Burke is a very good teacher and fair. She will provide help if you need it but she is not going to hold your hand. Course is hard and there is alot of material to cover so the homework which takes hours, is not necessary, but other than that, just expect to study ALOT!!
I had her for A&P II and was disappointed with her teaching ability. She was very wishy washy. She couldn't remember what she taught to which class. She wasn't very organized. Lecture and study guides were the methods of teaching. Wouldn't recommend her. She was nice enough though. Just not the best teacher for this in depth study.
Professor Burke is an phenomenal professor. She is highly organized and always willing to help. She is always happy which makes it more enjoyable to come to class. I had her for A&P I over the summer and would have loved to have her for A&P II as well. HIghly recommend her.
Professor Burke is awesome. She's so helpful - all you have to do is ask. I'd take all my science classes with her if I could.
I was warned about this teacher from a fellow student in A +P 1 who had to withdraw. Should have listened. I had her for A + P II and she was the worst. She was disorganized, not good at explaining things,etc. Not enough space to go over all the problems. I withdrew and got a much better professor. I would never take her or recommend her.
I had Professor Burke for both biology and A&PI, and I really thought she was great. Can't imagine what people were warned about her. She always offered help, and met with me on her free time to help me succeed. I highly recommend her.
Clear, easy to understand, happy to answer (or find the answer to) random A&P questions you think up in the middle of class. A little disorganized in her timing, but spot-on where it counts...explaining the material. If you take her, show up for class...one class is worth hours and hours of textbook reading.
Prof. Burke was a little unorganized and sometimes unfair, but overall, I enjoyed this class. As long as you attend class and study, study, study (which is to be expected for A & P), you should do well. Always read through the book, but concentrate most on what she tells you to. I'd definitely take her again.
she is unfair at grading. Asking for specifics on vauge questions, and getting nit-picky about particulars she hasn't gone over, but still figures to test them anyways. she's cancelled review sessions and even a few labs that were very important to the exams she gave, and doesn't help much when it came to one on one tutoring to improve your grade.
Totally unorganized. She will give you quizzes and tests tell you she is only going to do it on certain topics and yet add stuff she never went over. Extremely nit picky about how she grades everything. The person across you could have the same answer and yet they will get it right and you will get it wrong. Do yourself a favor and stay away!
Prof. Burke is simply the best! As long as you show up to class, pay attention and take good notes, as well as obviously, STUDY, you should be fine! She knows what she is talking about, and the exams are definitely based on the things she covers in class. I was so pleased with her on A&P I that I signed up for A&P II with her again next semester!
I loved her!! I would recommend her to any serious student, put in the work and you can't fail with her. Review sessions were made available along with extra lab time.
very disorganized, very wishy washy and unclear, grading is completely unfair. don't know what kind of grading system she uses, you can get the right answer on a test and if one word or punctuation is left out she will grade it wrong and deduct up to 6 pts off would not recommend taking her course, please stay away!!!!!!!!
Good teacher, very helpfull and happy when students are following, and doing well. Very simple and accomodating. A&P is generally difficult, just pay attention to details in class, read your note and text book you will be fine. I will like to be in her class again.
Very good teacher, will take the time to answer questions. Her lectures are easy to follow. Take good notes, ask questions and study the book and materials she hands out.
She is a great teacher very helpful, really wants her students to do well, had review sessions outside of class time prior to tests. Just pay attention take notes and read what you are supposed to read and you will do well in her class. I had her for AP 1 and took her again for AP 2 and would recommend her.
Ann-Marie Burke, is a very good teacher. If you do your homework, and study the powerpoints and read the sections of the text that she goes over in class you will do fine. There is no spoonfeeding, so do not expect to not put effort into this class. People dropped like flies from my A&P class thinking otherwise. Clear and concise teaching method.
Had her for AP I and II. Loved her great teacher. Clear , gives great notes always willing to help and ans questions.
I took A/P I. Very difficult class most of the class was struggling. I am a straight A student with a Bachelors degree already. By mid term most of the class withdrew. I attended every class, I attended study groups and I did extra credit assignments. Prof even graded homework. This class consumed my life. I withdrew from the class.
If you would like pass don't take her class. She takes points off everything if its not the way she likes it. Hate her labs she doesn't assist in labs expects you to learn on your own. If that was the case I would have taken an online course.
Great Prof. Class is time consuming.Take good notes,study powerpoints & study guides & you will pass.Tests include short essays,m.c.,& fill-ins.Same format every test.Very specific on how you answer essay ?s, but fair on grading.Will answer any ?s, very helpful & accommodating.Easy going/laid back.I would recommend taking her class.
A&P is a difficult course but Burke makes it manageable. She's very nice and laid back. However, she's disorganized and gets confused at her own teaching sometimes. Her take home labs/homework are really tough and frustrating. We only used the lab book in this class. She loves dissecting the cat. Exams are okay. She'll let you know what to study

I would not recommend anyone taking her classes. She does not care to help any of her students. And you can not retake any tests or quizzes if you miss them but if you are her favorite in the class. If the work is not done her way she takes many points off. All around bad teacher. She required a textbook that we have never used. $200 later.

Biology isn't the easiest class Mrs Burke makes it harder.. I had her a few years ago for Biology she is not helpful, seems unorganized and read right out of the book. was very vague answering our questions. was not much of a help. HIGHLY recommend ANYONE else.
Prof Burke was not clear, did not help motivate, and didn't answer questions. I dropped her class and would not recommend her to anyone who may struggle a bit with science
Material was very interesting and useful. BUT Prof. Burke did me no favors in this course, along with her tough grading (I mean ridiculously tough), she offered no extra credit OR test/quiz/lab make ups/unclear on what would be on tests/quizzes. If you want to do well, ask questions, and a lot of them. Avoid her if you can, I would not recommend.
She gives study guides, tries to help if you ask questions, teaches off of power points. She is not very clear with what she expects from you. Tests are extremely tough. Her grading is even tougher. I have learned a ton from her, but if you need above a B- I would not take her.
she's a good professor. she prints the packets for you. you will learn a lot from her but when it comes to exams study hard. no extra credit. she hardly make us use the textbook. online quizzes are not a lot mostly in class.
The subject is tough as it is, but she wants you to learn this stuff. She spells everything out and is ready to answer questions, and will get back to you if she does not know that answer. She is very friendly and is fair with her grading. Her tests are a little tough, but you are given review sheets ahead of time. So there is no excuse.
Professor Burke is awesome! A&P is a really tough class to teach no matter who you get but Burke is so organized and passionate about the subject that it makes it easy to follow along. You do need to put in a lot of effort on your own because it is an applied subject so be prepared, but know that Professor Burke will go above and beyond to help!!!
She give u group class work She give weekly homework She gives 1 question extra credit on each test out of 2 points She Skype even on a Sunday to explain anything related to the course to any students She know her stuff She make YouTube videos She post all study guide for the whole course at the beginning Lab dissection is great
Prof. Burke is an excellent professor. He grading system is kind of hard at first but manageable as you go along. She is clear in her lectures and tries to answer question as much of her ability. she gives quizzes and exams that are not too bad you just have to study. Please study for the lab exams!!!! if you willing to put the work in you fine
Prof. Burke is a very friendly and caring teacher. Her grading is very difficult to get a handle on, she wants exact wording on definitions and short answers. She can be a little disorganized but is brilliant, knows so much information! Very pleasant to have conversations with. Lots of quizzes and tests, but repeats so easier to get higher scores.
This is one of the best instructors i've ever had. Her teaching is awesome, she has a way of explaining things that just makes you get it or even remember it. A&P 2 is a very hard class but she makes it enjoyable, however you have to study. Her exams are everything she teaches in class.

She expects her students to know ALL material. If you don't study you won't pass. Plan on spending many many hours studying to receive a mediocre score. Hard grader.
A&P l is a hard class, she made the class harder than it supposed to be. Shes not helpful at all, she grade hard and always making mistakes when grading exams. I do not recommend her.
Although friendly she is extremely disorganized, often makes mistakes with grading. Her study guides are unclear and not helpful. If you notice something off with her grading and you know is the correct answer and ask about it she will give you a round about answer and not give the points back to you. Proffesor Burke letures off power point. Her power point info will be what she tests on. Her grading is tough on open response questions, she is looking for specific wording and will take off points if your answer isn't VERY thorough. Study guides are excellent. Frequent studying out of class is very important to pass this class!

She is a very knowledgeable teacher but a very tough grader. As a straight A student (until this class) A&P seems more difficult than it really should be with Prof. Burke. Very nice but disorganized and unclear on what she wants you to study. Taking a different Prof for A&P 2
I took Professor Burke for A&PI and also A&PII. Both these classes can contain very challenging content. Given this, I believe that she gives you all the tools you need to get the best grade possible. She presents the material in a kind, no-nonsense manner and throws no curveballs come exam time. I would give her my highest recommendation.
Despite a few slip-ups while lecturing, she really knows her A&P, and you will get a grade that accurately reflects your level of engagement and understanding of the subject.
Professor Burk is an excellent instructor. She is very helpful and her lectures are great. She is always ready to help in and out of school hours. Yes, she is a tough grader because she wants to make sure that we studied and really know our material.
A good choice as a professor. Be prepared to spend a lot of time out of class studying. Most of her students utilize study groups, tutoring, additional lecture assistance. This is not a class you can just attend and review her information before the test. To truly understand the concepts at her testing level you need help outside of class.
Professor Burke isn't going to allow you to cut corners, you have to work hard in her class. But if you put in the work for each chapter and study her lecture notes you will pass. She is always available for questions and willing to explain something in more detail if you need it. She is a caring and wants her students to do well.

Unreasonable professor. Doesn't care about her students. Very disrespectful. Unacceptable attitude. Very contradicting in what she says. Lies about everything, can't believe her. not very accessible when you need help. Makes you feel like a number; not a person. Very poor explanations and get's annoyed when you don't get it. Thinks she's all that.
Prof. Burke was extremely unreasonable and unorganized. Her grading was terrible my final grade was almost failing because of her mistakes. She is so unclear and overall difficult to understand. Won't catch anyone a break, also she doesn't like getting questioned.
Does not reply to emails until at least the second email. Lectures are all over the place. Very hard grader. Would not take A&P 2 with her.
Professor Burke does not communicate well at all. I emailed her on three separate occasions regarding a grade, and she never responded. She gave me permission to pass in a 90 point lab late one time, and proceeded to give me a 0 on it, leaving me with a C- as my final grade. She gives quizzes multiple times a week, and does not cut anyone slack.
Incredibly difficult class and she doesnt make it easy or fun. Gives snarky rude feedback when you have questions .. it was fully online due to COVID. She marks answers wrong even if off by one letter. Also doesnt care if your family member dies and you ask for a day extension on a test to gather yourself. Bleh.

Professor Burke is the worst teacher I have ever had the displeasure of encountering. The work was easy, she goes out of her way to make things hard, (even if you are really good and know your stuff). She also lies, and purposely Mark's things wrong. Something seriously off about this individual, idk how she is still teaching. Every review isSame!
She knows her stuff but material doesn't translate to online format. Low quality lectures (dog constantly barking..) and don't prepare you for tests. Disorganized structure, tests impossible to study for, grading is arbitrary. I had straight-As until this class - I put the time in, but she asks questions that are hyper-specific and irrelevant.
She's either sadistic or supremely inept. No way to know what's on exams - study guides are lies. I'd answer correctly but marked wrong because it wasn't exactly her wording. I learned nothing, only memorized tons for tests. Her end of term "anonymous" survey isn't the schools evaluation - be careful what you say since she'll know what you said.
She is not very helpful and quite rude. I realized pretty quickly that this class was not going to be one I learned from but rather a class where Id have to memorize as much as possible in order to survive. Even then, tests were nothing like the material she told us to study and lectures are extremely disorganized.
Professor Burke is a wonderful professor. If you keep up w/ the weekly work, and ask for help you will be fine. She makes time to meet one on one. The modules are laid out week by week. Weekly quizzes keep you smart! Don't blame her bc you want an easy A. Listen to her lectures and make an index card for everything and you will LEARN and do GREAT.
WORST PROFESSOR EVER!!!! Assigns weekly quizzes on different subjects with random test deadlines(some were 10:30pm and some were 11:59pm. Study guides-awful! Never truly made it clear what would be on the test(so no point to a study guide) Asked for help and was never given clear advice on what to do. Labs were confusing and disorganized!! BEWARE
Extremely tough grader! Even if you study concepts it's all about memorization on what is exactly on powerpoint. Asked multiple times for help and was given unhelpful advice. Assigned three tests on thanksgiving break (THANKSGIVING BREAK) Try to switch out if you can, as she will be one of the most unreasonable professors you will ever meet!
She was so bad. I wanted to give her a zero but thats not possible. Therefore Ill give her a 1/5.
The class is set up pretty fairly, however executed horribly. Everything is worth 20%, and lowest test is dropped (only good things), weekly quizzes on top of tests/labs and are consistently graded incorrectly/irrelevant questions. Professionalism is greatly lacking. Dont bother going to meeting shes incorrectly goes over topics. Stay away.
Professor Burkes class for me was an online only Intro to Environmental Science course and even though it was online she made it engaging, informative, and well worth the time. I wish I had the opportunity to take her class in person but I dont feel any value was lost on her course due to it being moved online due to COVID. Not easy, but worth it
Ruthless grader will have you question if you're being graded fairly. Will DROWN you in quizzes and exams. Lock down browser. Lectures are recorded long and boring. No time to actually study. I suggest taking this class on its own. I cant wait to be done with this teacher.

She doesnt care!! For someone who doesnt have to lecture in person and can use pre recorded videos to teach material for years , she sure doesnt have time to do anything passed what is required for the job role. She doesnt give a f, so dont bother!
Summer a&p students beware: this was genuinely the hardest class I've ever taken. However, due to the course timeline, it was absolutely understandable. This is a 4 credit science class in one month, it's going to be difficult. She's very willing to work with you one on one. If you put in serious effort you will pass this class!
Is there an option to give a 0/5? She's ruthless and will make you feel stupid. You will question your sanity if you take this class so make sure you enroll in counselling. She wants you to put in 195% of your available time into this class so if you work or have other classes, dont. I really wanted to like her but she failed time & time again.
I had a great experience with Professor Burke in my A&P 2 class, the lectures and supporting documents were very clear and helpful. I also found that all the quizzes and lab homeworks are very helpful, i did not really have to study hard for exam, just a simple review. Also those various quizzes help boosting the final grading
You must have a love for the earth. Very easy for non-science majors. Not a lot of work, but you have to study weeks in advance for exams. Labs are good: two field trips being at the Brockton Wastewater Facility and a cemetery.
I saw that she had a low rating but I took her class which I regret because I wish I waited for the fall courses to open to take Anatomy 2, she talks to MUCH her lectures are long, you never know what;s going to be on your test like you could study for the exam but then look at the exam and be like what is this. I do Not recommend taking her course
she's the type of professor that has you teach yourself. she's very picky so any little mistakes will be counted for. the lectures are PowerPoints. try not to miss class or come in late she will just tell you to talk to the other students to see what you missed. recommend you to form study groups. no makeups. no extra credit. Study study study.
shell gives you a "study guide" a day before the test which isn't much help. the test is only 10/15 questions but has you study over 100 things. quizzes are timed very short I couldn't even look back on my notes. if you have questions shell tell you to go to the arc or talk to a student. spelling is important to her. good luck.

She expects 10-15 hours a week spent studying and working on her class not including class time and online lectures. On short answer questions you are marked wrong if it's not worded exactly how she wants it said even if you get the point across and have the correct answer in your own words. Study guides are to long and 2 days before exams.
I dont know where to start she expects you to learn information in very little time constant test it never stops and if you spell it wrong or do not have the correct wording the answer is wrong. She is never clear on instructions does not teach fully and expects you to learn hard things on your own and will get frustrated if you dont know it.
Her study guides are only 40% of what will be on the actual exam, you will literally never now what she will ask you even if you study for hours and days. She will give you hints, but jokes on you its not even going to be on the exam. She doesn't want you to success, She makes it impossible.
She makes mistakes, but expect you to do everything flawless. She doesn't do extra credit at all. She's the type of professor that wont let you retake any exam or quiz even if you get into a car accident. None of her study guide matches the exam. She said she never took Anatomy and physiology in college, but then she put so much pressure on you.
Avoid this professor at all costs. She is by far the worst professor I've taken. She's an extremely tough grader and expects every single answer to be worded exactly the way she wants it, even if the content is correct. It genuinely feels like she doesn't want students to succeed. If you have other options, choose another professor.
