She explained everything very thoroughly and tests were based on probems in class. Sometimes very dry however.
Great teacher and the class is easy if you're doing the work and coming to class. Highly recommended.
Very good in teaching and with good reading you should pass the class.
One of the best professors ever! Expalins everything well, and tests you on what she actually taught!
Very clear, tests are fair, learned a lot
Wodnerful teacher. Very clear, easy to understand, and a good grader.
Great prof. take he while you can get her! other fin prof are not as clear, nice and easy testing!
Explains things well and class is well-structured. Isn't the most nice person to students and not easily approachable.
She is just the best teacher you could ever ask for. She explains everything thoroughly and her test is exactly like your homework problems with only the numbers that change.
Explains things very well. There are 3 exams which are mult. choice and problems. Problems are just like the problems that she assigns and goes over during class. TAKE HER!!
she is a great teacher, she tests you on what you learned in class, lets you have a 1 page formula sheet for tests, there are 3 tests- overall I recommend this teacher for finance
Great teacher, explains things clearly, however do not ask a question, she expects you to know the answer, and you know that saying there are no stupid questions, well there are with her!! 3 tests, allows a cheat sheet, and the tests are like the hw
knows the material very well, but not very nice to some students. seems as if she has her favorites.
She is a great professor. She really knows the material! WHEN TAKING THIS COURSE, make sure you do the hmwk and keep up with the lecture material because it is quite easy to fall behind in this subject.
Awesome teacher, knows her stuff, just keep up with the homework and you'll do fine! :)
She's great, but not that great expects alot. DO NOT FALL BEHIND ON HOMEWORK! Doesn't help too much with grading.
Great teacher! Explains things over and over to make sure that everyone understands. Is open to questions. Allows a sheet of formulas for the tests too! YOU MUST PAY ATTENTION AND DO THE PROBLEMS if you want to pass.
Awesome teacher, took her for fin 310 as well. But you have to do the work she assigns, if you do that you will ace the tests, but if you dont read, take notes, etc, you will not do well.
The best Fin Prof. at DePaul, I have taken other advanced Fin classes and no one is as good. If you do not get an "A" in her class then you should not major in Finance. Test are just like H.W, keep up with reading and H.W,will do fine. Final has
I liked her, i might be high but i thought she actually looked good and was even helpful. Take her!!!
She must be different for FIN 310 because for 320 she is ok only. Lots of reading and doesn't really explain things in a helpful way. Difficult on the written part of exams also.
Ive taken 310,311,& 320 with her and I think she is a great prof knows how to teach. Explains the material well & well prepared.I wish i had her teaching all my finance courses! She throws no curveballs on test, yes essay a bit picky just dont be general!
she's a nice teacher but she has her favorites students...to study for the testes do the homework and the notes that you took from the class and everything will be good!!
She is a great teacher! She can be intimidating if you aren't one of her favorites (she doesn't like to answer questions that you should know the answer to). However, do the work and you'll ace the tests. She is VERY clear when covering the material! :)
Good teacher, but seems aggrevated if you ask her questions. When you ask her a question, she will say, "What did we say in class?" Besides her bad attitude towards students asking her questions, good teacher. Needs to lighten up.
BEST IT CAN GET IN FINANCE..HERE'S UR CHANCE TO GET 'A' IN FINANCE.. SEIZE THE OPPOTUNITY AND TAKE HER...
Absolute sweetheart. Genius. Fair. Extremely good at what she does. If she would let me, I would marry her. Helpful as all get-out. Take her classes!
She is really strict on attendance, but her class if you do all the work will end up good. Pay attention in class and do the HW and you will be fine. She is a nice teacher
smart and fair...has a lot of experience which seems to help the class and keeps lectures interesting
Crazy about reading, she probably had a very lonely childhood. She’s ok but talks about the same thing over and over. Personally I did not like her.
This teacher is the best that i have ever had a DePAUL, she gets annoyed quickly, but she explains things very clearly and to the point, and does not bore you...she makes finance 311 seem like math 100..i would higly reccomend her!
very educated and experienced teacher. is a bit strict on attendance, but attendance will help your grade. I highly recommend her for people trying to get a good grip of the subject
This teacher is not easy she gets mad if you ask questions and then expects you too have good pertspation. Tests are very hard and they do may you think. She does not teach well because she speeds through evrything.
This teacher is a great teacher compared to the other teachers, yeah she might get annoyed but don't let that factor into your decision. Has 2 tests and 1 noncumulative final, and partticpation is worth 10%. Take her, you'll be glad you did!
She is a solidly average teacher, not terrible, but not great. Do NOT fall behind on the homework, you MUST practice the problems. She's all business, and NO PEOPLE SKILLS, and I mean NONE. 2 tests and a final, with weighted values. Lots of formula calculations, know how to do these, you'll be fine.
NO PEOPLE SKILLS, NONE. Do the homework, practice the problems, be comfortable with and know the formulas. She is OK as an instructor, but just dont ask her any questions - chick seriously needs more patience. 2 tests and a final, weighted values. Dont fall behind and youll be alright.
She goes through the material quickly, but supposedly she is the best Finance teacher. If she is the best, then a Depaul Finance degree is worthless!!!!
Has a huge chip on her shoulder. Not a people person but a very fair grader.
she is totally clear with her lectures but dont fall behind in reading and do all the homework problems. class participation is graded, four tests including the final. she has NO people skills very wierd and annoyed when you ask questions dont be late never miss a class you be ****ed. shes great for students who are not finance majors

I love her. THE most helpful, inteligent, and interesting prof in the world. The Anti-Houston. Take her for whatever she is presently teaching.
She's tough to figure out. Her mIdterm was like WTF?! And there was nothing to get you prepared for it. Do the volunteer project DON'T do the paper..she is an IMPOSSIBLE grader!!! Ex: She grades grammar and word usage. The notes are your BIBLE. Read ALL the Chapters, do ALL ONLINE QUIZES you may get an A.
Great teacher if you are not a finance major. If you show up to class all the time, follow the notes, you should pass this class easily. Only downside is that she takes the whole class time and teaches after exams. But there are 3 tests and it not cumulative. By far, best finance teacher for non majors.
Shes a great teacher, she gives you a lot of extra credit on the finals and is very explaining and helpful. WOULD TAKE HER AGAIN!
The best prof. EVER! Gives you a lot of notes and ONLY IMPORTANT STUFF YOU HAVE TO KNOW. Tests are very straightforward. GREAT GREAT GREAT. I would love to take her again.
Good teacher. Probably one of the best. But to do well, you must study. Def no an easy class - you will learn a lot! Take this teacher if you love finance and really want to learn. Textbook helpful but you do not need to read it. Take good notes and you will be fine!
Plain and simple, I love her. She is probably the best professor at DePaul!!!!!!
Awesome teacher! Go to class, take notes, and you have to do well. But you must go to class and study. No need to read textbook. Don't even buy it. Easy A and tons of extra credit on final.
I dont know what ppl are talking about. She has great communication skills. She is the perfect professor for Finance: explains exactly what you need 4 tests, clear about everything, doesnt repeat herself, gives you perfect notes so you dont have to read the text. She has sooo much out of classroom experience & its trully interesting to listen to.
She's a good teacher, very clear. But keep in mind she's TOUGH...Her mid-term was very hard, more difficult than expected.
Great Prof! Very clear lectures and keeps it fresh. Very involved with the University. A little stressed out and intense sometimes (can be scary ;) but overall she is a great Prof. Participate in class!
I have mixed feelings about her. She explains things very clearly, but her people skills aren't that well (although for some reason she's nicer after the midterm). She's really heavy on the participation and has favorites. The book is interesting but you'll be fine mostly just with notes.30% MT, 30% final, 30% project (a report), 10% participation.
I personally believe that this professor is overly rated on this site. She is NOT one of the best finance profs. She is a very TOUGH grader and there is no reason to argue with the grade she gives you because it is no use. Her mid-term and finals are hard, not very compatiable with all the notes we took in class. NOT AN EASY "A."
This class is not easy. I worked extremely hard and got an a-. An A is a 94%. Will not curve. ake amazing notes and it will help a lot! Extra credit is on the final which is helpful but this is not an easy A by any means. Cannot just come to class you need to participate too to get the points. Prepare to study a lot and do not except curve.
Class is very enjoyable. It's not difficult at all. She is very clear as to what she expects from her students and even tells you what is going to be on the exams. Test aren't hard if you study for it. I got an A in the class and probably spent a total of 3 hours studying the whole quarter. Just read the notes and review some stuff in book.
im taking FIN398-investment banking, and let me tell you - a very very hard class. Teacher gives you group cases that are due every week, but when you start working on them - you have no idea what u need to do there. She doesnt help at all. Guest speakers every week, that are supposed to give you some background info on the next case, but again - n
Avoid HER! She is soo over rated. YOu need to bust your butt to get an A, and her grading is horrible. The way she grades on the midterm and on the current issues project is horrible. She gave me an 85% which is why I ended up with a B+ in her class. Just absolute BS. I thought I was taking Money and Banking not BUSINESS WRITING!!
She is not the nicest of teachers. She grades papers and essays on the midterm and final carefuly. But she gives extra credit on final and the multiple choice questions are a joke. I dont think its a hard class but its not difficult.
You get what you deserve from her. She's EXTREMELY fair, clear, and helpful. Assignments were fair and relevant to class. Take her if you want to learn something.
One of the best professor at DePaul. She's extremely intelligent and fair. You will learn so much in this class! Midterm/final, current issues project and participation!!!!She's not very approachable at times, but if you PARTICIPATE in class you'll be fine.
I have no idea why this other guy who got a B+ and still complaining. Prof. Klingenhagen is a great professor. She is well prepared for class. As long as you participate and read the textbook to prepare for class you will be fine. Class consists of 2 exams and 1 final, and they weren't that bad. She grades very fair.Take her you won't regret it.
Really fair professor. No need to spend excess time outside of class studying. Study the night before exams and you'll be fine. Particpate and you'll get an A.
Best professor ever. Extremely fair, and I learned a lot from her. Very successful woman in the finance world-- so men, beware!
Awesome teacher, she is nice and always clear in explaining things. Make sure you participate in class, it helps you with your grade. Study exactly what is on the guide and you'll be fine!
Amazing teacher, very helpful and clear. Best Fin teacher at Depaul by far. I learned a lot from her.
Great Professor. Class consists of 1 midterm, 1 final and aplia assignments. Makes seemingly complicated stuff crystal clear. I wish I could take her again for 320.
Good professor. Her personality isn't exactly out-going but she teaches the material well and makes sure everyone is clear on what is happening. She's EXTREMELY generous with partial credit grading on her exams and drops the 2 lowest homeworks scores. Would absolutely recommend.
I only took her b/c of her great ratings and I regret it terribly. She is such a ****. She acts like she's being so inconvenienced when you ask her a question. She makes you feel like a complete idiot no matter how legit your question is. She basically yells at you when you ask her something. Even my friend who likes her agrees with me on that.
Prof. Klingenhagen is a very smart lady. Loves finance and teaches you traditional methods, which I liked. I have a pretty big sentiment for the class. It was HARD. I actually F the midterm. But you HAVE to go see her & study up...and you will do fine. Understand FIN & you will be successful!!! TAKE her.
Her midterm and final were HARD, looked nothing like the homework. I worked really hard in this class and just barely got a C would not recommend
Her midterm and final were HARD, looked nothing like the homework. I worked really hard in this class and just barely got a C would not recommend
ok, she's mean. she makes you feel stupid when you ask her questions. but she's VERY knowledgable. she really knows how to explain things until you get it, but treats the class like they are middle schoolers. homework manager wasn't too bad, but some of it doesn't relate to class work. if you know your fnance, take her, if not, pick someone else.
You either love her or you hate her.Yes, she is a bit hard to please, but all for the good reasons. She make the material so clear. Take her if you want to learn finance. Very successful and independent woman. Two tests and a few HW assignments. Participate in class!!! Very generous with partial credit on the tests. I really liked her a lot!
Sit in the front row, pay attention, participate is huge- ask as many questions as you can, speak loud. Do the online managerial accurately, it's easy. 1 midterm a little tricky, 1 final which she gives a ton of extra credit on. Study the homework problems & do the reading for conceptual questions on final/midterm.
Either you like her or you don't. If you ask a question, she picks on you. Mid-term and Final were tricky. I suggest you take Tom Berry or Karen Ahmed if you want an easy A. If you are willing to study days and days for exams...then you can take her.
Allegedly will curve the midterm by 20% points.
Absolutely the best professor ever! She knows her stuff and she will teach it well. Do the hw, come to class, take notes, and you will get an A. You have to really study and know this but she is awesome! Participate in class! She gives extra credit on mid term and final, very useful prof! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Definitely take her. She writes everything you need to know on the board. Problems on exams are exactly like the ones she goes over in class. Pay attention, do the hw, and you should walk away with a B at the worst.
read all the reviews on her and took her class this fall. shes an eccentric character but she does explain things very well. midterm, final, online hwk. online hwk is easy to ace and u get multiple attempts. final was easier than the midterm and she gives extra credit. i would recommend. the book is not that necessary, never read a chapter.
She is an awesome prof who knows her stuff and will call u out when you don't know yours. I really enjoyed her class because she gives out a lot of extra credit and the online Myfinancelab is a great study/learning tool. Midterm and Final are straightforward and she provides a study guide for both. Oh make sure u participate like crazy. I got an A-
Great Finance teacher. because of her I decided to be a finance major. Tough but she will make you learn
Highly recommended. Class participation is a must. The tests were not that bad and extra credit is available. She knows her stuff?.
Not my favorite subject but I got by with a C+. Just do the hw and pay attention in class and you will be fine. She does make a boring subject applicable to the real world and fun.
One of the best finance teachers at DePaul. She expects much from her students just like students expect much from their professors.
Very clear in explaining the material. The online assignments are easy and will boost up your grade. She will provide the review sheet, and whatever is labeled concept, make sure to read in the book. She is very thorough in explaining the material. I was rooting for a B, but ended up getting an A. Exams are problem solving and MC. Great Professor!
Straight forward, lots of extra credit. DePaul edition book. She can be condescending when you ask questions but she is still a great prof. Be sure to study for the Midterm and Final, they can be rough if you are not prepared. Study the homework and MFL questions.
She made us buy a super expensive book that none of the other intro to finance classes need. Attendance is mandatory and if she doesn't like you it will be very clear in your grade. Our class was behind so we didnt have time, but BE CAREFUL because she said the winter quarter will for sure have to do the GROUP PROJECT! got lucky this time AVOID HER
She is very knowledgeable and passionate about finance. She lets you know everything that you need to succeed. Tests are exactly like the problems she does in class. Take her and do the homework to get an A. I would definitely recommend her!
She is a really great professor that is very knowledgeable about Finance. It is a challenging class, but if you do the homework and MFL quizzes you'll be fine. If you study for the midterm and final you'll be fine. She also gives a lot of extra credit!!! Take her!
I personally really liked her. She comes off as kind of a drill sergeant in the beginning of the course, but warms up quickly. Just do all the homework she gives both from the book and MFL and you can't fail. I got an A pretty easily. Tests are EXACTLY like the homework, so practice the home work! Lots of easy extra credit as well.
She comes off a bit scary at first and at times is a bit snappy. She is a really good teacher though. She has a lot of industry experience to draw from and is very clear when teaching concepts. She offers extra credit and everything is pretty straight forward. I would take her again for sure.
Excellent professor. Professor K is extremely helpful, exams come straight out of the material covered in the textbook. Lots of real world experience to draw from. She is hilariously funny, and is slightly sarcastic. Do the homework and study, and you'll be fine. She really knows how to make concepts VERY clear. Take her by all means if you can!!
Great professor. Very clear in class and on what she expects. Class was fairly easy. Midterm, Final, and attendance. Offers 3% extra credit. Midterm and final were not difficult if you attend class and pay attention. Recommend taking her.
Class itself was straight forward and expectations are clear. Do the work and you will be fine. HOWEVER- I would NEVER take her again because her personality was AWFUL. If you ask questions that she thinks are "stupid" she will let you know. In my class no one ever asked questions because once you did she would make you feel like a moron. Just rude
HARD CLASS. She does not teach. Be ready to each yourself. She hands you a case study & says come back next week with it done. She picks out your groups. 6 case studies. She gives out an extra case study for extra credit, optional. No midterm. Final 20% Participation 20% Case Studies 40% Presentation 20%. She grades like a grad class.
Professor Klingenhagen is an amazing teacher. She makes the material easy to understand and is actually useful to your life. I liked her sarcastic personality but I do agree that she comes off snippy. 1 midterm, 1 final and some myfinancelab quizzes. Participation is huge. Perfect attendance gets you a C. Make sure you talk in class & she knows you
