Yes, her tests aren't that bad, however her teaching is horrible...she is like an old woman trying to make sense, also she is kind of stubbron and moody, which I didn't like. She RARELY smiles, and seems like she hates her job

Don't take this class unless you have the old exams. She just changes the order of the questions from the old exam. All those people who get good grades have her old exams and the losers are those who read her notes and textbook.

She is the epitome of BAD teaching. I had 3 old versions of every exam and it didn't help me much. Apparently she makes a new exam each decade and I got shafted with a brand new exam for my semester :( But yeah, she can't teach, is rude, and even if you recieved an A you won't retain any of that information. Get old exams and write everything down.

This is absolutely the worst professor I have had since I have been here. She acts as if no one is supposed to have questions, and tries to make sly remarks, but she's the only one who ends up looking stupid. AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS!!!

Just a bad excuse for a professor. She doesn't even want to teach, which explains why she doesn't know how. Wayne State is making her teach, in exchange to fund her reasearch. She's not suppose to be here, so we can't really blame her, blame crappy ass WAYNE STATE!!

Sodja is the worst teacher! Avoid getting her for anything. If you have to take her, dont go to lectures--they will confuse you more. Read on your own and go to SI sessions and you'll be fine.

Easy Exams, but very difficult lectures. Cant understand her writing most times and shes rude. The only good thing about her class was that she curved her grade so most people could pass.

WHOA Sojda is a disaster. Do not ever go to lecture because it will just piss you off as to how little sense she is making and how sloppy her handwritting is. Go to SI once a week, study on your own, never go to lecture and you will be fine. Following this procedure, I got an A in the course.

Personally, could barely understand Sodja's accent and handwriting is illegible. She doesn't even use powerpoint in a 700+ lecture, still handwrites everything. The only reason I passed was due to Lab scores and the fact that her exam answer are all true and all all of the above. Good luck :)

where should i start. the worst prof in WSU. the lecture are pointless she uses same notes from ten years ago, an once you read them they don't make any sense. if u ask her a question or argue with her she will disrespect u, so don't even bother talking to her. get the old exams from after 2006 they would help, but she changes a lot not like before

Worst professor I have had by far. Lectures are useless I stopped going and just read the chapters and my grades improved. I have nothing against her personally, she is just not a good professor. You can't understand what she says and you can't read what she writes. If you are forced to take her 90% of the TF answers are true. Good Luck!

Tests are too long, and miscellaneous when it comes to actually which chapters will be on the test. There is no possible to way to understand her speaking or writing. She is by far the worst person to teach a biology class.

its was biochem. She is the worst teacher you ever want to deal with. She was actually swtiched by our actual biochem teacher so the majority were kinda forced into it. she is rude and useless, has no sense of knowing whats going on what so ever. I do NOT recommend her at all.

Her exam questions come out of nowhere. There is no way to prepare for them. Her little asides in lecture that I considered extraneous to the book are actually tested. Sometimes I was able to guess the right answer. Sometimes I could not. There is no way of preparing cause some of the exam is just not presented in either lecture or the text.

Totally a bad introduction into the biological sciences. Cannot relate with students on almost any level. Assumes all are already well-versed in biology and has trouble easily relaying concepts to students.

This is the worst professor I've ever had at this school and I'm not exaggerating. Her lecture is absolutely useless to go to, as you will not understand what she says or scribbles down on an overhead board. But then, she will base her tests NOT on the text book, but on her incomprehensible babble. Also a genuinely rude person.

Awful teacher. She does have a very thick accent and in a lecture hall like DeRoy, it was impossible to hear her from halfway back or farther combined with trying to decipher her dialect. Exams were easy enough if you could understand what the hell she was getting at. Treats her students like disobedient toddlers for inexplicable reasons.

absolutly aweful teacher. The test are horrible no curve whatso ever. I was off by 1 percent from getting a C-, which i needed and she refused to let it pass. I took a make up test that goes over everything in the class and got a 167 out 187 so it clearly showed her i understood the overall class, but she did not care

Could barely understand her when she talked. Free lances with a overhead instead of using Powerpoint slides. Has bad handwriting and can't read off her overhead. Doesn't use textbook for test only her notes.

PLEASE READ THIS.First of all, if you can avoid her class, AVOID because she is difficult to understand, she begins saying something and when you write it down she stops and jumps to the next thing, BUT if you have to take this class, DO NOT MISS CLASS.online recordings are hard to keep up with.

She is very mean when she speaks. She is hard to understand. She thinks those that ask questions about the lecture arent paying attention. She has no study tools. She has overhead writings that arent posted online. She has no slides or clicker questions to review. Class is incredibly boring. I have to read the entire book to understand the material

She is very incoherent.I understand many accents, but I can't even understand her. She's very rude and yells at people for no reason. Her tests do cover more than just her lectures, but she doesn't make that clear. She does not specify anything and she doesn't know how to spell. I'm withdrawing from her class so my GPA isn't ruined

Don't understand how this woman is still teaching. She clearly hates it. She has a thick accent and messy printing. No study tools. Yells at students during lecture. 4 exams. Does not curve.

She doesn't make sense during lecture, I can't understand her. Her tests cover way more than just her lectures. She does not specify anything and she doesn't know how to spell. She doesn't cover most of the material that is on the test. She also gives no study guidelines for the test to even attempt to fix the problem.

She uses a projector to write her notes that you can hardly make out...says her tests are on the lectures but they end up being about something we never learned! Terrible teacher. Do not take her. if you do end up taking her most of the answers on the tests are TRUE and all the above. REMEMBER that and maybe you can pass. I dropped the class.

She's useless when it comes to help. She is unclear on the material. She gives no reviews or study guides for any exams. She says if you come to class, you should know what's on the exam. She is rude to her students, to the point where she publicly laughed at a student's grade. She expects students to know the material before she lectures on it.

Ok first things first, of the professors I have had at WSU she takes the cake of being the most rude and disrespectful to students. She has publicly humiliated multiple students in class if they did not know an answer to a fairly complex question. I mean, we are in this class to learn biochemistry. How exactly do you expect us to know it? BOOOO!

AVOID to keep your sanity, even if you have to stall 3 semesters! She is the rudest, most unhelpful, and most unclear professor I have ever had. She demeans students and indirectly calls them stupid. Cannot understand anything she says in class. Exams are absolutely HORRIFYING. The whole class is only out of 150 points...ohh and she doesn't curve.

Understanding this professor is difficult (putting it lightly and kindly). Presentations don't make sense... at all. And then, we have the helpfulness factor. Simply, not recommended.

AVOID!!! I went to every lecture and she says that the tests are based on them but they are not. The averages are in the high 60s low 70s. I spent countless hours reading the book just to get 90 percent's on the tests. She was also rude to her students, and never was at office hours or answered emails. Very unhelpful and difficult

She is horrible. Take her at your own risk, do not take her if you are actually eager to learn biochem for professional school because not only is her class extremely nonsensical since she doesn't have a clue about teaching but you will literally learn nothing that you can apply later on. She says not to use text but you really need it sometimes.

Do NOT take this class unless absolutely necessary. She is not very open to questions from students or to disagreements on extremely ambiguous exam questions which can clearly be taken in different contexts. You pretty much have to go to class, otherwise you will be confused with just audio that doesn't work half the time.

She does not finish her thoughts and introduces ideas that she believes are review. Things are not clear for what she tests on because she bases it off of her lectures, not the book or online resources. There are not assignments except to read but she never specifies or tells what to read and when. Shes difficult to understand but is a brilliant.

Here's the thing about Dr. Sodja. While she is a brilliant biologist, she doesn't understand that the majority of the students are just taking her class for gen ed. She refuses to teach from the book but if you don't buy it and read ahead, you will fail! She doesn't give very thorough lectures but she does go more in depth one on one. AVOID HER

Make sure you go to the lectures and do your reading. I almost failed, but got lucky by just a little. Don't take her classes if you don't need to.
