Ann Somers is brilliant. She will be the best lab instructor you've ever had, despite the dead cat between you. Make sure you get her for lab; Pelli is too dense for us common folk. Ann is down to earth but could and should probably write her own dissection manual. Yes, to this teacher. Yes.

Ann Berry Somers is the best professor I've had at UNCG. She is very enthusiastic about conservation biology and really cares about making a difference. If you use the study guides and go to SI sessions, there's no reason not to make an A in this class. She goes over everything in detail and makes a seemingly boring topic interesting. A must take!

Mrs. Somners was a good teacher, but some of her policies are a bit extreme. If you are late, you are counted as absent, I even went and talked to her, explaining my situation, and she wouldn't change my attendence. I had only missed 2 classes, and i was marked down for 5. I also did not get credit on an assignment b/c it wasn't stapled.

Her biggest concern is making sure no students are on their phones. The tests are beyond difficult. In order to pass her tests, you have to put in a LOT of effort. Study hard, go to SIP, be in class EVERY day, etc. Attendance is mandatory & done via iClicker. Two hrs community service required. Worst class ever, all in all.

Its helpful but not always neccessary to read the online sources she posts, but they arent long anyways. It is important to go to class so that you can get daily Iclicker points.

She's a super nice lady who genuinely cares about her students. She lectures with powerpoints and taking notes is very important. If you take decent notes you should have no problem on exams. There is a lot of assigned reading but I never did any of it and did completely fine so doing the reading is pretty pointless.

Go to SIP at least once a week and take notes every class. As long as you do that, read the links on canvas, and study before every test, you will make an A.
