she give assignments, but doesn't explain them. So when it is wrong, she gets mad. She makes people feel stupid for asking her questions, and her students are afraid of her. She only gives negative feedback and criticism.

I have never meet such unhelpful, mean teacher in my entire educational career. A woman like this should not be allowed to teach students how to become teachers. Infact she is the perfect example of the type of teacher one should never become.

Also for EDFN 305. Not being dramatic, she is the worst college professor I have ever had. Unapproachable, unorganized, and condesending. In lectures she is repetitive and boring. Knowledgable in her field, should stick to research.

The biggest challenge in class is trying to figure out what assignments she wants and how she wants them done. She is unclear about assignements, unhappy, lonely spiteful person, you will not pass with anything higher than a C in the class.sherepeats the same stories in class about her boring life

She will just cause unnecessary stress in your life. I worked very hard in her class and recieved an A, although all along the grades she gave me dictated that I had a C- or D. Inconsistent syllabus. Her "Socratic Method" of teaching only leaves you feeling dumb, discouraged, and unsure of yourself. She seems to be a snobby, bitter woman.

I have rated 23 professors that i have had at neiu. I have had something positive to say about all of them up to this point. Professor Whitaker is without a doubt one of the worst teachers i have had in my life! If you are serious about taking Education classes, Blow this teacher off, You will learn nothing at all.

The class itself was not hard. However she is unfair with grading. She does not let her expectations be known. Too much group work. You can put in the best quality work and never get better than a "C" so if you are worried abt keeping a good GPA-avoid her class.

The class was horrible. I got a C, yet she failed me on two of the biggest assignments. She told us we can do our observation paper however we want as long as we have all the info. So I did and she failed it. She doesn't explain anything and is just plain mean.

Drop if you are signed up for her class. She never tells you when things are due and just expects you to know without any verbal communication. She will belittle you by making you feel like you're stupid. Trust me on this one....you do not want to take her for any class!!!

The rumors about this professor are true. Avoid at all costs! It's unfortunate, because she really knows her subject matter and so long as she doesn't have to interact with students she is a good teacher, but something is distored and she doesn't seem to like interaction. If you can get to her one-on-one she's a little better, but not much.

This is all I can say, she is such a bad teacher I ended up dropping her the 2nd day! If you look at the schedule you will not find her name, so many students have heard of her so the school justs puts TBA under the professor who's teaching it. If you want to take a 305 and 306 avoid the early classes, she's probably the one teaching them.

One word to describe Ann is difficult. She is not helpful at all. I had her back to back 305 and 306. No matter how hard you work on a paper you will always get a C. She explains assignments after she gives them back to you. You will be stressed the whole semester if you take her. She loves to give people the run around.

I filed a greivance because of the grades I received from Whitaker. The chairperson completely disregarded my request. I even had supporting documentation. Bottom line-COE could care less that they employ substandard and unprofessional educators. I transferred to reputable university & could not be happier with their edu program & superior staff.

Although Dr. Whitaker really knows her stuff, she does an incredibly poor job teaching important and necessary material to her students. Education majors and minors should unite and force her into early retirement for the good and future of all potential teachers.

Until taking this class, my GPA was a 4.0...that went down the drain! Dr. Whitaker is an unfair grader. When I went to her office to ask what I could do to improve, she was of no help at all. Our class started off with 25 people and was down to 9 by the end of the semester. Unfortunately, she is tenured. Enough said!

I have never been in such an unprofessional classroom setting before in my life. This professor intentionally makes students feel small, attacks any other opinions, all the while rattling on about how credentialed she is. I hope that she finds happiness one day, cause she is bitter

She was the worst proffesor I've had at NEIU. To any potential students drop that class just like almost all of my smarter classmates did in the beginning.

Many students, professors and an advisor warned me about Whitaker (why didn't I listen?). We started with 30 students and ended w/8 or 9. Her teaching was wildly confusing and quite often had more to do with her personal life than the subject. When grading papers, she would dole out low grades, but couldn't identify errors to merit the grade.

This professor provided no rubric for grading, and refuses to explain how she arrives at the very low grades she gives. The material itself is easy-getting her to give you credit for your work is impossible. A mean-spirited person.

Dr.Whitaker is the worst professor at NEIU. She gives low grades, and when she is asked why she gives no answers. I think she should be encouraged to go into early retirement.

Her syllabus is dozens of pages long and convoluted. She responds to questions with another question (snidely stated no less). Her tests consist of broad open ended questions that could be answered dozens of ways, yet she looks for one specific answer and everything else is wrong. On our midterms, the highest grade in our class was 26 out of 80.

This teacher is the worst teacher you will ever have. She does not know what she is teaching. All she does is talk about her personal life and talks to everyone as if the are stupid. I agree with a majority of the previous comments. I worked extremely hard in her class, did not miss one class, completed all the reading (and there was a lot) and I was still unhappy with my grade. She does not give A's and it is frustrating b/c it lowers your GPA. She does not explain projects or assignments and there is a lot of group work.

She is, without a doubt, the worst teacher I have ever had. At the beginning of the semester I was writing papers that would have been an A in any other class, but were a C in hers. By the end, I was writing C papers and still getting C's. No reason to try, she's gonna screw you anyway.

Everything you hear about this professor is true!! DO NOT TAKE HER!! You will NOT get an A and you will have to work super hard to get a B. On your papers she will find mistakes even if you had several people look over them. Tests are essays and you basically have to remember whole chapters of the book and write an essay about it.
