She's a very happy/perky person but a GREAT teacher. She's very clear and organized. She'll tell you exactly what she expects and she's very reasonable. Highly recommend her.
Brown is an amazing teacher. She was so clear when she taught math. You could go to her office anytime. Four major tests, but all come off of the practice tests. No need for the textbook. Take her when she comes back. She is preggo right now but take her def!

Excellent Teacher, really wants to make sure that the students have every oportunity to succeed. Offers extra credit
I took Anna Brown last semester for 150A and this semester for 150B. She is an AWESOME teacher!.. I have always been bad at math but I actually understood her teaching methods. There is no need for a textbook, the homework is online, she grades fairly and offers extra credit and sometimes notes on tests. I strongly suggest taking her class
Always very clear and does her best to make sure students understand the material. Very helpful during office hours.
Online homework and practice exams are a great way to understand the math and succeed on the in-class exams. You can keep track on what is your grade and improve it. Her teaching method is great, you will understand the material if you come to class everyday and take notes on workbook, she offers extra credit which helps a lot towards your grade.
Loved Mrs. Brown!
She was incredible. Very clear and so helpful. We never even used the terxtbook. A+

Anna is an amazing teacher.
Easily the best teacher I have taken at the Santa Rosa Junior College. Anna is very understandable, has a bright outlook, and has a way of teaching that makes Calculus do-able. Her tests are not very difficult (far more helpful). Very understanding with personal circumstances, and is always very open and helpful during office hours.
By far most amazing teacher I've ever had 4 math. Had not taken ANY math (except stats)since HS in '99 so was nervous to jump right back in w/out review but she made the material so understandable and WANTS you to succeed! She exemplifies what "teacher" really means. Go to her homepage and read her "My Educational Philosophy". It says it all.
Anna is one of the best instructors anyone could take not only for 155, but for any math. She is helpful, clear and approaches the subject in a way that facilitates anyones learning style. Before her class I was convinced id never be any good at math and i couldnt do it- Anna helped me realize the opposite! Take her class!
Awesome instructor!
Anna is an amazing teacher! Too bad she doesn't teach statistics! Pick her!
Anna is great! My Fav math teacher ever. Fair grader, excellent lecturer, very clear, positive, and what a cutie! Thanks Anna, on my way to Calculus this semester thanks to your help.
A brilliant instructor with an exceptionally clear and rigorous expository style who seems to genuinely care whether or not you understand what she's teaching. She's also very passionate about what she teaches. The only drawback is that she only seems to teach morning classes.
TAKE ANNA BROWN!!! She's a great teacher who makes sure you understand the material! In our intermediate algebra class she used her own "book of notes" that you follow along & fill in as you progress. I highly recommend her for ANY math class you need!!! Also, with her notes, I didn't use the book once, so save your $$.
Anna is a great teacher! She is very nice and passionate, and her lecture is pretty clear. Take her!
she explains painful math concepts better than any teacher i've ever had. if i had to take any more math i would pray she was teaching it
She moves very fast through material, practically 1 section per class and 2 sections of hw per week. Her quizzes are the most complex form of a problem, only understood if youve mastered the section. Useful in office hours, unclear lecturing however. I'd try someone else. Will not review old material because you were expected to understand>>now.
Wonderful teacher! She's excited about the material and makes herself available to help. Always has a positive attitude and makes everyone feel welcome. The online homework is really helpful if you don't get it- lots of online help as well.
Best teacher EVER! I wish I could take all of my math classes from her forever!
BEST MATH TEACHER - EVER.
There was a quiz weekly but it was only 2-3 questions. She made sure the material was understandable for everyone.
Great teacher! She makes the class very simple and wants all her students to pass and understand the material. Follow along with her notes and examples given which give you very similar problems for tests and quizzes. There are weekly quizzes that are 1 or 2 problems and turning in the homework for that chapter. Take her!! You won't regret it!
Good Teacher!
Amazing teacher! Best math teacher I've ever had! She uses a website called web assign for homework, which I liked a lot! I sucked at precalc in high school and had taken it my junior year and I have an 98 percent in her class and we have done two tests and a bunch of quizzes! She is very thorough and helpful. I highly recommend her!!
Anna is a great math teacher. You can tell that she enjoys her job because she makes math fun! She's animated and extremely helpful when answering questions. I wish I could take her in the future for all of my math classes!
Best math teacher I've ever had! She made everything very clear, and made me actually learn to like math. If you have any questions, she would always help. I wish I could take more of her classes.
I haven't taken math since high school and I was terrified. Anna makes the information easy to understand. If I had not taken it with her, I would have failed for sure. She is so king and helpful, one of the best teachers I have had. She really wants you to succeed and gives you all the help you need to do so. Take her!
Anna was the best math teacher I've ever had! Everything she explains is very clear, she knows how to teach math. I received a B+ in her class instead of an A because of stupid stupid mistakes I would make on quizzes (not her fault at all). I was .8% away from having an A. I would DEFIANTLY recommend Anna for ANY math course!!
Anna is amazing! Her lecture notes are very helpful and straight to the point. She is willing to go over all material multiple times until you understand. I never thought Stats would be easy, but she made it seem like a walk in the park. She does drop your lowest percentage in the class. She loves to joke around. Overall, Anna is a wonderful.
Anna, is seriously the best teacher I've ever had for math. I have struggled with math in the past and she made it seem so easy. Not a ton of homework and she all around wants everybody to pass the class. Her notes are very helpful and im sad I wasn't able to take her this semester.
she is the best ! Goes at a reasonable pace. She wants people to learn the material not just pass. She is so helpful all the time. She is clear and efficient. Great teacher overall.
Anna made 1B amazing! she gives tons of examples and her quizes are based off the example or hw. her exams are not bad if you do the hw. She doesnt throw curve balls on exams, they're based off the hw, quizzes and examples in class. you will never see a random question unless its extra credit. super easy on grading.
Super nice teacher! Her class is very easy but you must really study for the test! TAKE HER!!!!
Anna is my favorite teacher I have ever had... I am so bummed I can't take her for 150B. She makes herself extremely available for her students to give them the help you need and her lectures are crystal clear. I highly recommend her if you want to confidently grasp Math rather than just try to get through it. Her teaching style is so helpful.
This is my second time taking Anna, had her for Math 155. Awesome teacher!! Has great lecture notes. You seriously have to earn your grade! Very helpful!!
Anna was by far the most amazing math teacher I've ever had. Not only was she helpful and kind, she was thorough and honest about the course. She allowed notecards on tests, there were two projects in the class. Both were group projects. She printed notes for classes, and if not printed, provided notes for certain chapters online. 10/10. Amazing.
Anna Brown is a fantastic math teacher. This class was enjoyable and if you do the homework it is easy to do well on the tests and quizzes. Anna gives practice tests that are very similar to the tests. I would take her again she is one of the best math teachers at the JC.
Anna Brown is an amazing professor, she is so helpful, she wants her students succeed. she gives you a templates for the notes. she responds to emails quickly. she will let you barrow her notes to take home, just bring them back for the next class. there are a lot of quizzes and homework. but overall she is an amazing professor.
This is one of the best teachers that I have ever had. She allows notes on test, has partner quizzes, and goes over anything that seems confusing. Her notes are easy to follow since she color coordinates them. I wish I she was teaching Math25.
She's incredible. I DEFINITELY recommend her. She's the best teacher I've had at SRJC
Anna is by far one of the absolute best professors at SRJC. She is the reason I like math. If you want to understand math, she is the professor to take!
Anna is one of the most amazing teachers I've ever had the pleasure of taking. Everyday she brings a positive attitude and plenty of energy to attempt to engage her students. The way she teaches really makes you wanna do good. She is by far the best math teacher I have ever had.
The BEST math teach I have EVER taken. She takes the time to send you the note and all you have to do is bring them into class and fill in the blanks. It is effective and easier because it was more organized. Her class is based on showing up and filling in the blanks of your notes. I recommend this teacher and if you ever need help she's flexible.
Not only is she a very awesome professor, but she's also an awesome person in general. VERY KIND! SUPPER passionate about math, she gets really excited. Is always willing to help. She would even help a lot outside her office hours and for the final she has a group study even though she didn't need to. Please take this professor, you won't regret t
Anna is the greatest math teacher EVER. Ive never met anyone so stoked to be talking about math. She is very passionate about it and its clear to see by the energy she brings to every class meeting. Shes caring and engaging. I wish she taught more classes cause it is great difficulty getting into her class.
Anna was one of the best teachers I have had in my many, many years of college classes. She was clear, interesting, very accessible and didnt give up until you understood the concept. Her lectures were GREAT! I was terrified to take this class, but it was one of my favorites, and I usually run from anything math-related. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Anna Brown is the best professor I have ever taken. She is clear and organized about assignments and explains things in ways that make sense. She is cheerful and wants her students to succeed. Great test prep and communication about tests. My friend who took her class used to hate math, but now Anna has her excited about it. Great professor!!
I really enjoy her method of lecturing and the way that she uses color coding in her notes. I understand the material and feel like I chose an excellent instructor.
Anna is amazing! I have struggled with math my whole life and have been taking her since my lowest math courses. With her I have learned to like math. She does amazing lectures, uses different colors during lectures (which is great if you're a visual learner). She is super friendly and will always ask for feedback.
If you have an opportunity PLEASE take Anna Brown! Lectures are so clear, very visual and posts them online. All HW/quizzes are online through MyMathLab, $135 for the access code (dont waste money on textbook MyMathLab is way more helpful). There is late HW (10% deduction per day)and quizzes. You have 3 opp. to take quiz, keep highest score.
Anna wants to engage with her students in a comfortable way while they're sitting for her lecture. Ive had 2 semesters in her classes. She creates a professional algebra presentation and decodes math by writing in different colored ink pens on her walk through lectures. Watching Anna present reminds me that SRJC is chock full of a great presenters
Anna Brown truly deserves her high rating. Easily the best math professor I have ever had. You can tell that she genuinely enjoys teaching and cares about her students' education. She is a very fair grader. Her notes and the worksheets she gives out are very helpful studying tools. Attend classes and use her office hours and you will succeed.
Anna is amazing! I took her for 150b and 155. She is funny, super organized and makes math seem less intimidating. I can't recommend her enough. Take her class!
Anna Brown is the best math teacher. She is an easy A and wants her students to learn. She cares about the class, is extremely organized, and gives clear and easy to follow lectures and gives super helpful study guides for every test. She was the first teacher that made me enjoy math! Take her if you want to understand and enjoy the material.
Anna is the only reason I was able to pass math. Took her for 150A, 150B, and 155 - she makes difficult content easy to understand, prepares you for tests with in-depth study guides, and even allowed group quizzes. You do have a ton of homework which is a bit of a drag, but definitely helps for understanding the content you need for her tests!
OMG the best math instructor around. I waited a year to be able to take her for this class. Her lectures are very engaging and she wants you to learn. Please don't show up if you're not ready to learn. I was terrified of stats but she made me enjoy it! I would highly recommend taking her for any and ALL of your math classes. The drive is worth it!!
If you are naturally good at statistics, she is your teacher. I am not. Just because she is a cheerful person, does not make her an understanding person. She will not answer anything from the past. I had a question from the past and was told review the text myself. I would not pick her for a teacher again.
Anna is one of the best professors, I've had in my 2 years at the JC. She's very respectful of others, she has great lectures and she is able to make a clear understanding of the material, she's very patient and is open to all questions. I wish she was available to teach all the calculus classes I need when I enroll in the future. :)
Literally the best professor at the SRJC. You will not regret taking her
Theres lots of homework but for someone who is an average math student and taking the class for a requirement, all of the homework was very helpful. She makes sure you have every chance to succeed.
No idea how this women has such a high rating on here. My experience w/her was anything but pleasant. I reached out to her because I was running out of time on tests/quizzes & was just having a hard time w/the material in general. She called me out in class w/a passive aggressive chart she put together based on how long the typical student took.
If you struggle with math, please take this course with Professor Brown. I have never been great at math and was extremely nervous to take it online due to COVID. Professor Brown is amazing at teacher and her style really helped me. She provides videos of the content before her meetings which thoroughly cover the homework and answers all questions!
I was scared to take math until this course. She is always available if you have questions, this class is lecture based but the lecture shows you how to do the work. You will understand the majority of the work even if you haven't taken a math course in a while. She is so helpful and tell you what to look for on the quizzes and test. TAKE NOTES!
Wonderful lectures that thoroughly explain what you're learning. If you're having trouble, she is easily accessible and has after-class help to go over it with you. Super sweet and approachable. Definitely take notes on the lectures, especially if you're a visual learner. Practice tests and homework have roughly the same questions that are on tests
Truly one of the best math teachers ever! The homework is not too bad at all you just have to keep up. She explains everything so well & straightforward which makes it really easy to learn! She never makes you feel bad for asking questions or clarification on anything. 10/10 experience!!!
Professor Brown was fantastic for my stats class. I hadn't taken math in many years and was very nervous but survived. I was close to dropping because I really was struggling with the tests. Once I got a tutor my grade went up. Plus she will help!
Prof Brown has been an incredible professor for Math 15 and 215. She has such a kind and caring presence online and is very approachable. It is very clear that she wants everyone to understand the material and for every student to succeed. I'm confident that the main reason I have been succeeding in this class the way that I have is because of her.
Mrs. Brown is the nicest teacher i've ever had at the JC! She works her a#@ off to help everyone in the class learn the material. Her notes are clear and easy to follow. I was worried taking calculus, I havent done math 2 years before this. She helped me succeed in this class, and spends equal time with all.The class she puts on is second to none!
THE BEST
I loved her as a professor but the class was difficult. She does help you a lot and is pretty much always accessible. I was nervous halfway through the semester and was thinking of dropping the class. But I continued and it paid off. Even when I was thinking of dropping the class when it came to retake it I would have taken it with her again.
One of the greatest teachers I have ever had. Extremely nice and very passionate about math. Made a tough subject so much easier to understand and really wanted everyone to succeed. Tests were slightly difficult by quizzes were all done with groups. Actually wants you to learn math, I highly recommend her to anyone taking calculous.
She cares about teaching and her students. Best math teacher at the JC. She will take the time to explain anything you don't understand. My only regret was that I didn't use her office hours more.
Calculus 1 is an inherently difficult course, but Professor Brown taught it in the best possible way. She was engaged and enthusiastic during her lectures, and always happy to help outside of class.
She is amazing very good lectures feel like I learned something from them She is willing to help especially during office hours 5 exams including the final, takes problems from class notes and homework, tends to put them the exam Study hw/notes you should do good and pass Shoutout to Paul He was an amazing classmate who helped a lot in office hours
Anna is a awesome math teacher. She constantly asks if there are any questions before moving on. Sometimes it felt like she was moving on too fast, but there is a lot of content to cover so it's not her fault. Very caring person.
She is an amazing Professor. If you hate math, you will change your mind after you take her class. She is able to deliver information to the students in an amazing way. A very enjoyable class that is not boring. She answers all questions, whatever they are.
I took Math10 which wasn't in the drop down menu so sorry for the confusion. She is very nice and respectful, but she gives out a lot of homework. So if you go to school and work full time like me, you are not going to get the homework done in time and you won't do well on homework quizzes. Not fun and VERY stressful.
MATH 10: I found this class difficult but, Anna really does care for students. The moment u realize u are struggling go to her office hours or u will fall behind. I would go to her office hours and complete the homework w/her help, this ensures that hw was done and correct. No late hw penalty and group quizzes. Take this class w/ Anna!
Taking Anna's class was the best decision I've made this semester, the drive to Petaluma was 100% worth it. She was such an amazing professor; she gives students the best possible chance of receiving the grade they want with, group quizzes, previous tests as study material, and homework extensions. Promise you won't regret taking any of her classes!
Great professor. During lectures, she passes out notes and goes over several examples with the class. Always stops to make sure everyone is on the same page and understands everything. Homework can take time sometimes, but nothing too hard. Tests were a walk in the park. Allowed to work in groups on weekly quizzes.
Anna is one of the three best math teachers currently at SRJC (others are G. Bach and J. Martin). Had her for Stats, Calc 1 and Calc 3. Caring, great teacher, and very accommodating. If you see her class available, take it.
I took this class as someone who hates math and always struggled with it. She was one of the main reasons I passed with a high grade. Make sure you have her check your classwork before it is submitted not the TA! Try to attend every class or I guarantee you will fall behind! She is great professor!
Anna is the best! She truly cares about the success of her students and it's very evident in her lectures and communication. She's extremely responsive to questions in and out of class. The course is naturally difficult and will require your time and commitment. The homework is online, so that can be challenging to those who aren't as tech savvy.
Easily the best Math teacher at the JC. If you are able to take her, 100% take her. I was a math major and had 4 other math teachers at this school, so trust me.
She's very kind, but I had a tough time grasping the concepts. It was fast-paced and was simply lecture after lecture. She's very busy, which makes outside communication difficult at times. I would have passed if she had given more time in class to breathe and connect for tutoring. Not everyone learns by just copying her notes from the board.
Just an overall fantastic professor. I took her class after not being in school for a few years and yet she was able to explain very complex material in a very understandable way. She is a wonderful professor who cares deeply about her students and their success. I only wish I could go back in time and study the way I should have.
Anna is one of the best instructors I've had at the JC. She explains concepts clearly and ensures everyone understands before moving on. She's responsive to emails, flexible with office hours, and also tutors at the tutorial center—so she's always available when you need help.
If you want an easy A, take this class. However, be warned, you will not learn the content well. She does no derivations, no proofs, and teaches straight from her previously written notes. She allows any calculator on the whole test, and the tests are really easy, so an n-spire will guarantee good grades. Her homework is a really large grind too.
She was a great teacher and seemed real passionate about her work and always gave good feedback and was willing to answer any question you throw at her. No textbook the 4 tests including your final is worth a whooping 68% of your grade. Lots of homework too. Be warned if you suck at math take the concurrent support class
Anna's approach to teaching is so systematic. Her handouts are designed to teach the material, there are weekly quizzes based off of the HW and in class notes, the exams are based off of the quizzes, homework, and notes. There are no curveballs, everything on the exams are things we have looked at before and she is very clear about expectations.
Mrs. Brown is a caring teacher and thorough in her teaching style! Her class is easy for the most part, I really recommend to keep up with the homework as much as you can, and study really well for the test. Quizzes are group effort which makes it easy. I didn't enjoy the project at the end of the semester, it made the workload harder.
Organized notes, group quizzes, very kind and non-judgmental professor. It's apparent she loves her job and is passionate about what she teaches. If I could take her for every class I would. Since I am based in Santa Rosa, it was a difficult decision to make, driving to Petaluma for her 8AM class. I have never regretted it and you won't either!
an insane amount of homework, group quizzes every week, but she is quite fexible with you but if you fall behind theres no going back.
I am taking Anna Brown right now and I can see why she has such a high rating on here; however, I will say that for a 3rd semester calculus class, she does go over a LOT of the algebra behind things when calculus would have been easier to do. She is really fantastic for lower math courses, but isn't quite as good with the upper levels.
Passionate, understanding, organized. Great for Calc1B, below: posts notes online; quizzes allow teamwork. Not conceptually rigorous. Too few exams worth 40 points, with algebra graded too heavily on them, 3 errors is maybe b. Online work penalizes you for wrong attempts. Too slow, had to rush at end. Section work due by exam. Wouldn't take
