I had her for Biological ANT, and she is awesome!

I would take any class that she taught if it were in my curricculum she makes it easy and when it is all over you feel like you learned something.

Dr. Dixon is challenging, but fair. She is also very knowledgeable and has a great off-beat sense of humor.

Definitely enjoyed this class! Dr. Dixon is a professor of a rare quality. She blends a considerable breadth of knowledge with a warm personality. Expect to work hard, but the effort is well worth it.

Good teacher, but not very well organized. You will have no idea what your grade is until the very end. Having that been said, I ended up with an A. So, I reccomend.

She is a goddess. I wish she could teach more classes because once you have taken her two classes there is nothing left to take, but I hear she is teaching Intro in the summer. I would take anything from her. Please let her teach more classes!!!!!!!!!!!! She is amazing.

Dr. Dixon offers a challenging course and manages to stimulate a high degree of student interest. She expects students to complete readings and assignments before the lecture takes place and spends much of the class discussing the material (not reading from the book or powerpoint).

She's an excellent professor and very knowledgeable. I didn't care for this course as much as some of her others; she was rather disorganized.

Very straightforward online class. Work is challenging like a college class should be. Some people expect online professors to be available 24-7 but they are unrealistic. These same people think online classes should be easy. She has always responded to my emails in a timely manner and with courtesy. This is an excellent online class.

Dr. Dixon made the class very interesting. She is very nice and has a great sense of humor. She always makes herself available to help students, even with things that have no bearing on the class.

She's fabulous. Amazing quality, always helpful, always considerate, willing to work with you. She makes this class worth your while. Not only is it interesting, but fun. Field trips rock. Expect to work hard, this is not a class that should be taken lightly, but it's worth every ounce of effort. Highly Recommend it!

I loved her online class.some of the comments on here are ridiculous.get her fired, really? I've never had a problem with her grading anything or updating info, very fair,when encountering a glitch, she will extend the dateline. Very good class wish there were more like this online.some people expect the work to be done for them, apparently.

I have taken three classes with Prof. Dixon while they were not cake classes, I learned!!! She was extremly helpful if you took the time to ask and she is generally one of the most dedicated Prof. I know! Love Dixon would do my whole degree with her as my Prof.

Yeah some of those comments are pretty extreme. She always answered my email promptly and was nice to me. Kind of a straight forward online class, I did work my butt off to earn an A. But I did learn! Take her!!!

I have taken 3 courses with Dr. Dixon in the past and you will learn in her class. Although it is not a easy class, it is the best and she is such an inspirational figure. She knows so much about everything, and extremely passionate about teaching and helping every student. don't take her class if you are going to slack off, otherwise she ROCKS!!!!

Online, she's very clear about exactly what she wants. Don't do it her way and you'll notice immediately in your grade. There are 2 papers. One in which we had to go to the zoo and make observations about the animals. Another annoying thing is that you have to make a post to a discussion weekly and respond to 2 other AND take a quiz WEEKLY.

Very clear instructions, timed tests averaging about a minute per question or so, discussions & quizzes due weekly, and 2 written reports total. Professor Dixon offered a lot of instruction & guidance, my only gripe is how long it takes her to grade everything...I understand she's busy but we're talking over a month-6 weeks for a graded paper

I took online Anthropology with her, and it was a pretty good class. She is very nice, and very helpful, as long as you respect her and of course be nice to her in return. There was a few times where I didn't do to well on a quiz and she opened it again for me. The class is interesting, not difficult if you just read your book.

Really interesting subject, the teacher has a good sense of humor but requires a lot of time consuming assignments, professor is easy to talk to, helpfull and easy going. I have enjoyed the class tremendously.

Dr. Dixon is the best scientifically oriented anthropology prof at USFSP, and probably USF in general. She has a deep vault of experience and knowledge on innumerable subjects. Her courses are not for lazy students! Be prepared to READ and LEARN! 3 to 5 articles a week s standard for upper level courses. She is Brilliant!

There's a little more work than you may expect from a 2000 level course, but she always keeps it interesting. She's understanding and easy to get a hold of. Beware of pop quizzes.

She makes the concepts Anthropology very easy to understand! Her quizzes and assignments are scheduled fairly so that if you take it online you can do it later in the week. She is also very prompt in replying to emails and she will explain something if you are confused. I definitely recommend this class if you take it online!

She made the class very interesting. She is crystal clear with what she wants and responds to emails within 24 hours. The class was pretty easy, make sure you read the material.

The midterm was extremely hard, lots to memorize, but she is very helpful. She is always willing to talk to students outside of class and will help you even after you are no longer her student! She is a great teacher and will make sure you actually learn the material. would recommend her to any Ant major

My favorite professor at USF!!! Dr.Dixon is awesome, she is so engaging and sarcastic and down to earth. My tips, come to class on time, stay for the whole thing, read the material, and youll do well. Lots of participation points, and essay exams. You can score well if you participate alot, which is easy to do in her classes. take her class!!!!

Dr. Dixon is a brilliant teacher. Don't come to class expecting to coast. Do the readings! They work if you work it!

Amazingly fair, Don't be afraid to talk to her about anything. One of my most favorite people. Read the material and enjoy thinking about how it relates to the textbook. Requires you to venture out and observe a religious service which was a neat project.

At first I was hesitant about prof Dixon, she kind of intimated me. Although she does have dry humor I grew to love the class! She expects a lot and there are a lot of assignments but if you make an attempt you should get an A. The class really made me more open minded about a lot of topics.

Professor Dixon is my favorite professor at USF. She's amazing, but she is not a class you'll be able to skate by in. If it's an upper level class, expect to read (papers, not the text.). If you don't read, and participate in class discussions, she'll start giving pop quizzes. Totally worth it tho, because she's brilliant and funny. :)

Anna Dixon is a really brilliant woman. Her life is filled with amazing experiences, so ask her whenever you get the chance! Totally go to all of her classes and engage and you will get an "A." The reading is super interesting- it is admittedly the first time I have ever read a college textbook cover to cover. She takes points when you miss.

As a psych major and being completely out of my realm I found this class very challenging however, professor Dixon was very willing to work with me and help me out. She is passionate about what she teaches and I would absolutely recommend her to any anthropology majors, that being said if you are not an anthro major do not take this class.

Prehistoric Human Evolution is the reason for Anthropology right. Anna Dixon is hands down, the go to authority on the latest Bio Anthropology topics. Truly Brilliant. Warm fun but heck yeah, you will read. Expect to learn in any Anna Dixon class. They are not easy, but you will be enriched in many ways. She creates a sense of community.

This professor solidified my choice to keep Anthropology as my major. She is kind, funny, and super genuine. She will be the first to tell you that she wants serious students who are willing to show up and do the work required to pass. I got a B that I deserved because I goofed off a bit. She was always willing to chat with me outside of class.

Class is what you make of it, Dixon can be very "chill" but you can't just skim through class. Its fairly easy reads combined with reports and proof that you didn't just read the words but thought about what they might mean. Great teacher to talk to outside of the classroom.

The best teacher Ive ever had! She is always available to help and is just so interesting and well rounded on all aspects of Anthropology. I would definitely take her again. She does assign a lot of work, but I assure you its all worth it! You will learn so much from her!

She is so much fun! Hilarious, and class is always interesting. You do need to participate and do the assignments. Has quizzes for attendance on certain days, but other wise not mandatory. Super cool, I would definetly recommend!

Though we wrote a lot of papers there was a lot of freedom in how you could go about completing her assignments. She is also super funny and passionate about what she does making it easy to listen to long lectures. Also shes a criminal investigator outside of class which is super cool.

Best teacher you will ever have! Lots of reading, but its part of learning. I would take her again.

Ms. Dixon is a good teacher, sometimes a little passive-aggressive about assuming students are playing games on computer when they're taking notes... but still a good teacher. She's funny even when some of the topics aren't the most interesting. Respects student's viewpoints a lot and is very passionate about the topic.

Professor Dixon is downright amaaazing! Very reasonable work load, and the tests were alright as long as you studied/paid attention. She brings her humor and love for archaeology to the class. Wonderful class discussions too, she really tries to get students interested in her class and archaeology.

Professor Dixon is a very fun professor to have. If you do the work and read the chapters you should pass. She does provide a study guide before tests which helps you know what to focus on. This isnt a walk in the park but its not super hard either.

Dr. Dixon is such a lovely lady. Learned so much from her class, and it is fun. Though her class does get sidetracked so easily and she does not seem to stop a lot of people from speaking their minds. I think her class needs to be more lecture-heavy rather than just talking about our homework from last night.

Dr. Dixon did a pretty good job. Cultural Anthro is a class we all have to take, but she made it interesting. I am happy to have the chance to take her class. She has lots of stories from her life to tell and always engages the class in conversation. It is sad to see her face when people do not show up to class.

Professor Dixon is great and such a sweet teacher. I enjoyed taking Cultural Anthropology with her even though I didn't necessarily enjoy the course itself.

I love Professor Dixon! She is so sweet and genuinely cares about all of her students. However, she gets distracted very easily in class and doesn't spend much time covering the actual course material. If you get past this though, she is a very sweet person and this class can be very fun.

Amazing professor! Every class was entertaining and the professor had a lot of experience in forensic criminal anthropology. Very educational and fun professor.

Dr. Dixon is EXTREMELY knowledgeable in forensics and anthropology. This is a relatively difficult class - lots of in-depth work. However she is kind and caring towards her students. Tough but fair grader. Lots of presentations - participation in this class is required. Dr. Dixon is a great professor but you must put in hard work to do well in CJE.

She makes her lectures entertaining and tries to incorporate hands-on activities. Exams will matter, but they're not too difficult. Worksheets are very important, work hard on them! Beware of the 7pm deadline! She let me submit some of my assignments late. Go to class and participate! No final exam and the second midterm was an activity, not a test

Professor Dixon is my favorite professor on the USFSP campus. She was the inspiration for me to pick up a minor in anthropology! Her ST class on Ethnobotany was fantastic and full of interesting course material mixed with many practical goodies, such as pressing plants or trying plant-based drinks from around the world. You won't be disappointed!

She is very fun in class, and if you participate, then you will succeed. Made all of the lectures interesting, and was willing to work with me to make up a midterm when I was sick. She LITERALLY gave me tea and cookies when I went to make it up. Just super sweet. Lectures can be a bit hectic, but not so bad that I don't learn or get confused.
