She's a great teacher.
She is a pretty good teacher. She has an accent but it's not too difficult to follow. Reading the chapters isn't completely necessary. Just attend the class, participate in the disucssions and take notes... just copy them off of the board. She reviews before every test. Tests are very easy if you study your notes. Term papers are graded easily.
she's a new teacher and she sometimes has trouble maintaining control over the class. she's really approachable and willing to help. her tests are really easy if you just study her notes... but she grades hw and quizzes kind of hard... i really liked her.
don't believe that this class is that easy! sometimes you can't understand her and yes you should read the chapters to understand whats going in the class !!! don't buy her second book not worth it, just borrow it !!! she's soo nice but the class is sooo BORING!!! you will get a good grade if you study and not to much homework
She's really nice, especially when she tries to make jokes its pretty funny. As long as you copy everything from the board and study from them, you'll get A's on the tests. The main text isnt necessary, but the smaller textbook may be needed for doing an summarization of an article-- but thats only to get ur grade higher.
she is awsome she really is shes a kool person very sheek
she is an amazing teacher, one of the best at pierce, shes really interesting and cute, she will talk about depressing things, and then turn to us apologizing about how she is depressing us but its really cute and funny. i seriously recomend her. she is a 5 star teacher.
Awesome teacher. The the tests were really easy, but she grades harder on the quizzes and papers. If you copy what she writes on the board, you'll be fine. It's all pretty straight forward.
She is the best! Amazing teacher!! Very clear, tells you everything you need to know. The tests are easy. Just come to class and take down her notes; you don't need the book. She is so much fun and very interesting. Easy to talk to and very helpful. Lots of extra credit available. Join the Sociology Club to get extra credit, free food and fun!
She is really great great teacher!! very nice to every student and fair. But class was a little difficult to me cuz I'm international student. However I got an A in this class because of extra credits.
She is really interesting and helpful. Tests are extremely easy; u just gotta listen and take notes of whatever she talks about in the class. You would definitely have a good time in her class.
Very good teacher. Quizzes are a bit difficult, and she's a difficult grader when it comes to the written papers, but it's all straightforward. Exams are moderately easy, just take notes and do some studying.
great teacher! really enjoyed her lectures, interesting, fun, helpful. TAKE HER CLASS. she is really into sociology! She loves her club too. It's a great club. Class was very informative.
Anna's a really fun, cool lady. Her lectures are easy to follow, her class uses a lot of discussion, and she's just cool. take her class. Take her class. Her tests are easy--multiple choice, attendance is important. Two papers required. Great teacher.
Very interesting class, excellent teacher! Pay attention, take notes, don't miss a day, and write the two papers she assigns and you will be fine. Her dark sense of humor makes the lectures entertaining. The best part of the class is the opportunity to participate and make your voice heard.
She's laid back and keeps you interested in the material. Just make sure you take good notes and study them bc that's where the majority of the test and quizzes come from and not everything can be found in the book, so don't miss a class.
Great teacher! Explained everything perfectly. Very friendly and the classes are mostly taking notes and discussions. Once again very good teacher.
this professor is really nice, and fair. If you go to class and take good notes you will get an a. she does 2 tests and 2 papers typically.
One of the very few professors at Pierce who can tell if you BS your assignment. Be warned, she will catch you. She's very clear in her lectures and lets you know exactly what she expects from you. I recommend her only if you're willing to actually put time into doing your assignments.
not only a great teacher, but a great person. I really enjoyed her class..shes the reason I became a soc major!TAKE HER
Excellent professor. Tests are somewhat difficult and require reading the book and listening in class. Somewhat difficult grader on essays, but quizzes are very straight forward. She is very helpful and knowledgeable about her subject. She is also very friendly. Highly recommended!
Great and fair teacher. Just read the books she assigns and you'll do fine.
Great class, I learned a lot, but I felt a slight bias toward women students (favored male students). After I began understanding her teaching method and grading style I was able to enjoy the class more, but it was defiantly more difficult than I initially thought.
Best soc teacher out there she helped out a lot. Very nice and answers questions on the point and explains in a good manner.
You guys are all tripping she tells you exactly what's on the midterm and what's on thr final so no excuse not to get an a! You literally have to study exactly what she tells you! The quizzes are just whatever she wrote on the board and yes you have to settle for a c on the first essay but the second one go to her everyday n there's you're a!
Bruzzese is hard teacher, but if I were you i would take her class because she is smoking hot. Her accent is so sexy and her looks are a distraction to learning. I guess that is why I got a C.
Kinda hard teacher but if you give effort and go to her office hours you are likely to get an A. Pretty cute too.
Great Professor! The class is interesting, entertaing, thought-provoking & informative. The tests & quizzes are very easy with no surprises.2 quizzes & 2 papers. If you listen to the lectures it'll be an easy A+ Awesome teacher! Recommended!
i had Bruzzese for honors social psych. She was pretty easy, although sociology isn't really one of my favorite subjects. We had a couple interesting class discussions. I suggest showing up every day because we do have group work that can't be made up. Papers and tests are a breeze. Easy A.
hard grader. 2 major assignments. 2 quizzes (1st one- expect an F)second one much easier. 1 midterm, 1 final. LOTS of e/c opportunities. go to her office hours, you'll get your paper reviewed by here word for word. interesting class discussions. "JUST DON'T GET CAUGHT" is her slogan. overall hard grader
She's an amazing professor. I'm really glad I took her class! Her class itself is pretty challenging. As stated earlier, expect to fail the first quiz. I managed on getting a B at the end. Just be serious about college and do your studying and take notes, and you'll be fine.
I really enjoy her class so far, I enjoy going. She is very detailed and helpful, she always makes sure if the class understands each section. The first test was a fail for most, but I think she figured a lot of people would drop after the first test. She was very encouraging/ advising in how to succeed in the next quiz.
This class is easy, show up, take notes and ask questions if you are not sure. I took a summer course so there were no papers due. There were 4 quizzes, which are NOT multiple choice, and a midterm and final which are really easy. Just show up, take notes and read the book and you'll be fine.
My favorite teacher at Pierce! Her lectures are fascinating, and very straightforward. If you pay attention and take thorough notes during her lectures, you'll get an A. Also, do every opportunity for extra credit. You will need it to boost your quiz grades.
HORRIBLE, does not have time to talk to students one on one except office hours. talks about her life way too much and her polish background. not recommended in my opinion.
Although interesting, extremely difficult class. I'm a straight A student and this was a tough course. Puts random numerical facts on her tests and it feels like no matter what you study, you're just unprepared. She's great as a person, but her tests are extremely frustrating, easy to fail. Makes the class harder than it needs to be.
This was a very hard class! I am an A student in HONORS and she was a hard grader! I felt like if you study for the tests and do everything you can -you will still not end up with a good grade because she makes the tests harder and it's just Soc 1. This is way too stressful of a class to take, but as a person she is nice, as a teacher-it's a NO.
Best teacher ever!she practically gives out the exam before hand! such an easy course for the summer :)
Fascinating teacher! Learned so much information about sociology! Read the text!!! but also show up to class, be interactive, and do the extra credit and the tests will be a breeze for you, and an A will come easy. The 5 week summer class goes by very fast, but seemed easier than a regular semester, because she reviewed the chapters with us
Her exams are hard I''ve been attending pierce college for 3 semesters and I have not taken a class this hard Her exam reviews are ridiculously long and hard. I do not recommend her class.
Her class and grading criteria are pretty clear. Would recommend downloadingprinting lecture slide before class to help with note taking since she moves pretty fast. The study guides are pretty much the test, as long as you take notes on the points listed the test will be easy.
She's pretty bland when it comes to her lectures. Very boring. She gives you three test, and three quizzes i think. They're pretty easy. Gives you a study guide for the test with everything on it. There are also two papers, which can be challenging because she is a VERY tough grader and she doesn't really explain what to do! She's ok
She's nice and organized. Read 3 chapters, in class lecture, slides can be printed off her web page, review sheet, and study for test. Tests are not common sense. You must use study guide and memorize stats. This was the 1st semester of Town Hall activity. Go see her with your papers. The directions are vague. Don't wait until the last minute.
She's really nice. Her exams are easy enough you just have to memorize a lot of stats. Do ask for help with the town hall papers bc her instructions on them are not very clear. That was where I messed up.
Cons -long lecture -no review in class for test -long study guide -expects you to read the whole book and memorize everything -I find that the test focuses on STATS Pros -friendly and approachable -funny and sarcastic
I would highly suggest taking Bruzzese's class. She is a wonderful Professor and is always cheery and happy to listen to class comments during her lectures. She makes the class go by quickly and only goes off topic if it helps the class to understand. Just make sure you read and take good notes, as there are many tests. TAKE BRUZZESE 3
Prof. Bruzzese is very easy. Sure her study guides can be quite long but if you attend her lectures, you will understand it. No homework except for the reading, but does offer a lot extra credit. Lecture notes can be found online. Very helpful
Prof. Bruzzese is truly Amazing! She's funny, friendly and very knowledgeable (and gorgeous). She wants all her students to succeed and gives all the necessary tools for success (Extra credit, study guides etc.). I highly recommend taking her class, it is very interesting, and by following her instructions, theres no reason for not getting an A.
Class consists of 4 exams, 1 final. If you don't read the book, you will fail first exam and other exams. 65 percent of test is study guide, 35 percent is book. Lecture everyday don't bring book to class. No hw. Nice person. Would not wing an exam. Study for all and you don't have to worry. Attendance is must.
All you need to do to pass is show up and read your book. Classes are mostly lectures, with few group works. There are 5-6 tests, no homeworks, and essays are optional if you want the extra credit. Bruzzese tell lots of good stories, gives review sheets for each test, and curves really well, which makes up for her often being late to class.
Prof. Bruzzese is a sweetheart! I took her Intro Soc. 1 class and it was a definite easy A. Her class is lecture heavy but I never once felt lost or unable to comprehend basic concepts. She provides study guides, extra credit, and tools for success like even more extra credit and in class assignments. TAKE THIS CLASS; IT'S EASY & MAKES LEARNING FUN
Professor Bruzzese is a real gem, I loved her class so much. I earned an A by listening to her lectures and studying a bit with the help of her study guides. It's a relatively easy class if you're into social behavior but if you decide to be lazy then it's entirely your fault if you don't pass. Overall shes a sweet woman and shes very passionate.
She's such a nice professor, she's very direct with what is needed to be done in the class in order to receive a good grade. There are very few assignments, just attend class, take good notes and you'll most likely get an A
There wasnt really anything to do to boost your grade up except two extra credit assignments and three in class group projects. All that really means nothing if you dont do well on your exams . You have three exams and that is what your grade is really based on. Tutoring is optional for extra credit if you have the time to go
Professor Bruzzese was an amazing professor. She is very helpful and her lectures are very clear and straightforward. There is only one paper due and you have to study for the tests. She offers extra credit which are helpful. I highly recommend her if you are taking tough classes. This class was really easy and interesting.
Makes the material extremely enjoyable and easy to understand. I never cracked open her textbook and only relied on the lectures. She is that thorough. She offers tons of extra credit throughout the semester. She is hilarious and does incorporate discussion within the class. She truly preps you for all the exams, there were hardly any surprises.
Great professor. I barely had to look in the book, and relied on all her lecture slides. Easy exams, easy A. Three exams, one essay. She even offers several opportunities to earn extra credit, where you can get max 4 extra credit points on each exam. She's sweet and knows her stuff. Take her, you won't regret it.
i found this class to be extremely stressful considering that there was only 2 in-class quizzes, 3 classes including the final, and 2 papers. I didnt find her to be very clear when it comes to what she asked for in papers and would deduct points for the smallest things. She stated that getting any letter grade: A+, A- or A didnt matter, but it does
Around four exams, which are pretty easy just study from the study guides she gives you. Class is lecture heavy. There are some in class activities worth a few points but she gives you hints the class before. 1 paper (2 pgs) which can be a bit vague in terms of what is being asked but nonetheless easy. Fair grader, no hw, easy A just show up.
She is the best and easiest professor I ever had. She had 2 test and one final that she tells you what exactly come in test , also one 5 page paper about yourself (if you want to get an A u need to visit her in office hours for papers ) believe me you get an A. I recommend her to ESL people like me.
Dr. Bruzzese is super nice and I found her class to be very easy. Just review her lecture slides (which she posts online) and you'll be good. I did use the book to review definitions but it isn't necessary.
Professor Bruzzese is a super awesome and caring teacher her lectures are engaging but her class is lecture heavy. We have 1 paper in this class which she grades very fair and 2 exams and 1 final exam .Transitioning to online due to COVID-19 professor Bruzzese did an amazing job and I highly recommend taking her class.
Lovely professor. I definitely would take her again. I took her class the spring semester that was before and during quarantine, and she transitioned very well. Zoom calls were very interactive and a pleasure.
An excellent lecturer-a professor who is passionate and competent in her field. I took her in 2017 but am writing this review because I want to give credit where credit is due. I remember her lecture material until now because of her teaching style. Great person and professor all-around, take her class.
(COVID-19 changes) The weekly quizzes can be difficult but u get three tries for a higher grade, but the most concerning was the weekly discussion questions. Shes very picky about what u choose to write and the median grade for the class was between 2/5 and 3/5 and those pile up and can hurt ur grade. Please be aware especially cuz no zooms.
The sweetest professor ever! I took her online class and it was very organized and everything is laid out beforehand. Really cares about her students and their success. Quizzes and discussions are easy if you do the assigned reading. Would definitely take again!
Bruzzese is a great professor. You only have to do two things the entire semester- participate in discussions and take the quizzes. The quizzes are 5 questions (study her outlines and you'll ace them), you have 30 minutes and 3 chances. She gives you the entire week to do them. Discussions are simple and lesson-based. The final is multiple choice.
Easy class. Weekly quiz and discussion forum based on chapter reading. Answers for the discussion forum must be thorough so that she can see your understanding.
The quizzes in her class are really easy if you read the book the most problem that I had is the discussions she is really picky to whatever you write her discussions are the same % as her quizzes so even if you do good in the quiz you still wont have a good grade discussions are 38% of your grade and the minimum that you can get is 3/5 or 2/5
Its the fist class that I have ever took that was really picky for the discussions and my grade suffers a lot because of it. I would not recommend taking her class if you are not ready to start with a bad grade.
she's too picky on grading discussions and marks you down for the dumbest mistakes. there are only two assignments a week that are five points each so if you don't get 100% on both of them your grade is drastically affected. half of the time she grades you low just to make her seem a lot smarter than she actually is.
dont even think about taking her unless youre want a headache all semester long. her class is really easy and everything is worth 5 points but shes a really tough grader and will give you a 3.5 on a discussion even if you tried your hardest. its definitely not an easy A because of her grading
Her class was very nice. It was the same discussion post and 5 question quizzes every week so it was easy to keep up. She didn't ask for much and as long as you do the work you're guaranteed an A.
Professor Bruzzese is an easy going kind hearted teacher. When she grades discussions, she can be a little particular in what she wants from your response. Shes always available via email for a proofread before submitting and will guide you to the right answer for you post. Class consists of discussions, weekly quiz, 50 question final. Easy A IMO
I took this class in 2021 and from what I saw, this was one of the easiest teachers I've had. Reviews say that this teacher is a tough grader for discussions and I agree, but for the 5 question quizzes each week, just make sure to reach the 2 chapters from the textbook and you will do great. Try in the discussions, that's also a big part of grade.
Took her honors 8-wk course! She assigns a personal writing assignment per week (few paragraphs), but they're pretty simple. Cite your sources correctly as she marks ALOT of points off if wrong. She gives EC worth 7pts, but if you do the weekly homework it's an easy A. Very caring, soft-spoken, and understanding, and even brought snacks for us!
Easiest class ever literally just take it quizzes and like 3-4 discussions which are like oh give the definition shes also really sweet and caring
Took her 8-wk class, and it was extremely relaxed. There's a discussion & 5pt quiz per week, and it's super straightforward. However, she can be a bit of a harsh grader sometimes, so just be sure to follow her directions. The final exam is made up of 50pt multiple-choice questions, and it's super simple. This is the easiest class I've ever taken.
professor Nicholas was very sweet, we only had one homework assignment every 1.5 weeks (she graded them pretty harshly)(6-7 total). The final was 50 multiple choice questions, that I feel was pretty different from the study guide she provided. Overall very easy and passable just watch out while citing sources and studying for the final
Easy class, missed one assignment and it ruined my 4.0. My bad I guess, but she is not very lenient on anything and does not accept late work at any cost, even when I told her I had a death in my family.
Really sweet teacher, I loved her class it requires a lot of patients and active listening but she's amazing. Really sweet and straight to the point. Not a heavy case load but a good amount of work to complete.
Easy A, if you do the work. Make sure to take advantage of the extra credit good for 5% of your grade. Ended the class with over 100%
Super easy class if you read the chapters and take the quizzes. Most lectures were interactive and she is very understanding when grading the paper we had.
