Dr. Rogers is amazing! Her lectures are pretty straight forward, but she doesn't post them on eLC. If you go to class, you don't need to read the textbook. Her tests are easy, but she gives 5 pop quizzes for 20% of your grade. The 4 tests are 60%, and then you have one activity/essay thing for 20%. She really cares, though, and wants you to do well
such a cool professor! dr. rogers is super nice and always helpful if you dont understand something, and she makes the class really fun. the tests are pretty easy, even without reading the book, and we frequently watch things from pop culture related to class. i would basically lay my life on the line for dr. rogers.
The best professor Ive ever had. Lectures are super interesting and engaging. Tests are easy. Very straight forward
Dr. Rogers is a great professor who very clearly cares for her students. The class itself is very straightforward and is pretty interesting. You do have to go to lecture if you want to do well, but overall it's very easy to get good grades on her exams as they aren't meant to trick you. Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Rogers!
Anna Rogers is a new teacher at UGA and she is amazing. SO passionate, her lectures are clear, tests are 30 multiple choice questions and take about 10 minutes. Come to class and listen to her and you will do well. The tests almost entirely pull from the lectures. Attendance is not mandatory but she gives 5 random pop quizzes.
Dr. Rogers is one of the best professors I've ever had - for any class. She is engaging, kind, funny, and super cool. Her tests are very straightforward and designed to reward people who go to class & read the book. Late in the term, she lets the class vote for topics she'll teach, so she really wants students to enjoy learning. Shes the BEST!!!!!
Great, fun professor, I wish I could take her again. There were a couple pop quizzes for attendance. Tests mostly based off notes, they were very easy if you went to class. I don't think you need to read the textbook for this class, don't spend the money.
Dr. Rogers is honestly just a fantastic professor. Her lectures are always interesting and the tests are easy if you study! It is important to read the textbook; attendance is not mandatory. I would definitely take her class again and I literally wish she could teach all of my classes. I highly recommend her!!!
I would highly recommend this class. You can tell that Professor Rogers cares for her students and their grades. Her lectures are interesting and funny. The tests are all multiple choice and very straight forward and she does not try to trick you at all.
By far the best professor I've ever had! Her lectures are always so fun and we have "pop culture Fridays" on what she lectured that week. Never used the textbook. Tests are ridiculously easy if you pay the slightest attention in class. 5 pop quizzes for attendance and they were for completion. Easy grader and very clear on assignments. Take her!
The best and most different prof at UGA. Made class AMAZING and talked about topics that matter and were important. And she was very cool and loves witches/gothic culture. Tests are super easy! Everyone I know made an A and learned alot!!!
Dr Rogers is the best option for this section and a really cool person. She gives 4-5 pop quizzes during the semester that are essentially participation grades for attendance. The tests are super easy if you show up to lecture and I finished in 10 minutes every time. There's one paper but it's pretty short and she doesn't grade harshly.
She is one of the best professors I've had. She is caring, gives great examples, and makes class interesting. She has 5 pop "quizzes" (not for accuracy) for attendance randomly throughout the semester, so always go. Study and you'll do great. Dr. Rogers is awesome. I was sad when the semester ended because I LOVED her class so much.
Super cool and funny professor. She tries to make lectures interesting and it works-- the type of person you would want to be friends with. Make sure you read the chapters because she incorporates the reading into her tests. Overall a great teacher, would definitely recommend!
Dr. Anna Rogers is an amazing professor. She is a great communicator and a very caring individual. She wants to see that her students do well. I would highly recommend taking her.
Take her! Absolutely amazing teacher. Tests are very clear and straightforward. All you need to do is show up and take good notes. There are pop quizzes on random days (around 5) so be sure to not miss class.
One of my favorite professors at UGA hands down. She makes the lectures interesting and actually worth going to. She shows that she cares about her students and wants us to do well. The tests are straightforward from the notes, but she will throw in questions that she specifically mentions in the lectures, so make sure you go. Easy and fun class!
She is the best professor ever!!! Her lectures are amazing and so relatable. She is very understanding of all her students. All you have to do is go to class and you will get an A. There are four tests I think, four pop quizzes (which are so easy), and a fun paper at the end. You will get a feeling as to when the pop quizzes will be. I
Amazing Professor!
She was great and really laidback due to the CO-VID 19 situation. Her in person lectures were also really interesting and she relates topics to pop culture which is nice.
Dr. Rogers is the best! Her lectures are so interesting/engaging. Also she emphasizes test questions during her lectures so it benefits you to attend class. If you do your work, be respectful, and take advantage of extra credit opportunities, you should do really well.
There are 5 pop quizzes that sub for attendance. Tests are super easy if you take good notes. Final is a 10 page research proposal, but we work on it all semester and get feedback so it's almost done already. Assignment instructions aren't always clear, and sometimes she said stuff in class but wouldn't grade according to what she said
She makes everything clear about the course! I would highly recommend. Taught me more about sociology and actually made me enjoy the class. Would highly recommend.
Dr. Rogers is the best professor I've ever had and if you get the opportunity to have her, DO IT! She goes above and beyond to make course material is interesting and pertinent to students' lives and clearly wants us to succeed. There's 5 pop quizzes for attendance so if you miss a day dont stress! If you have a good class she gives EC! Love her (:
I cannot say enough good things about this class and Professor Rogers. The class is so interesting and her lectures and very well put-together. If you show up, pay attention to lectures, and take notes, you will do just fine. You honestly don't even need to read the book.
Dr. Rogers is the best professor I have had yet. Not only is she very knowledgeable about the subjects she teaches, but she also is super passionate about what she does. If you show up to class and pay attention to her lectures, you will know exactly what to study for. She also gives extra credit.
This was one of my favorite classes at UGA. Dr. Rogers is so kind and really cares about her students. She is very understanding so attendance is not mandatory, but there are pop quizzes every so often to "track" attendance. Tests are easy if you attend class b/c the material is straight from powerpoints and notes. Would definitely recommend!
One of the better professors I have had but sociology was not really my absolute favorite and I still felt indifferent about it after the class. Lectures were rather monotonous but very straightforward.
This might be the best online class I've taken so far. Instead of throwing all of the work at you with no communication, Dr. Rogers shows she cares through weekly emails and fast feedback. I really enjoyed the content of this course as well and it changed my perspective on how society functions. 10/10 recommend!
The best professor I have ever had. Class was super interesting, and I actually learned useful information about society because of the pop culture. If you have to take sociology, please take it with her you won't regret it. The tests are super easy, and if you come to class, the pop quizzes are pretty much completion.
Super easy grader and gives good feedback. She's so relatable and sweet. Boosted my GPA, sociology knowledge, and confidence. Love her!
I LOVE Dr. Rogers. She is flexible, cares about her students, and is passionate about sociology. She made this class both interesting and manageable. The course was mainly online, and she gives numerous extra credit opportunities. The exams are fair and there is only one written paper. This class was SO interesting. Dr. Rogers is the best choice!!!
Super sweet, minimum work, cares, would take again in a heartbeat
Dr. Rogers is the best! she is very passionate and educated about her subject and gives easy extra credit opportunities. her quizzes and tests are very straight forward as long as you use the textbook and notes that she provides. very few brief assignments outside of short tests and quizzes! take her!
Dr. Rogers was definitely one of my favorite professors I've had. My class was fully online but I really wish I was able to attend her lectures in person. She is very passionate about what she teaches and I thought all our assignments (especially pop culture fridays) were really interesting & fun. I learned a lot past the scope of just school.
She was by far one of my favorite professors. She cares more that you learn then get a good grade, so if you do that work you will most likely get an A. I will be ending this class with a grade in the range of 97-99. As long as you do the work youll be good. I rarely studied and all was successful. Tests are short and quite easy. Best professor!!!
Such a sweet and caring lady that really cares for her students. grades are made up of discussion posts, tests, quizzes, and a final. idk about the in person class but the online was super simple because everything was open note
While this class was online, I wish that I could've attended her lectures! Professor Rogers made the course so enjoyable and the assignments and exams were super easy. I would definitely recommend and take her again!
She is my fav professor now. Loves her students and wants them to succeed. Does what she can with the dry material. The last month of the class was very chill. 20% was completion of assignments. Her tests were fair and easy, she breaks down the research paper well, and I really hope I have her for the internship! START THE PAPER REALLY EARLY TRUST!
My favorite class this semester in terms of content ! As previous students mentioned, I wish I could've attended the lectures in person, but the class was very straightforward online. There is only one research paper, but the paper, quizzes, and tests are all relatively easy as long as you read the textbook. TAKE THIS CLASS!
SHE IS THE BEST PROFESSOR OUT THERE. You can tell that she truly cares for her students. Her class is very easy and fair. The only issue I had in this class is that she sometimes would put 0 for assignments that Ive done, but corrected it after I told her. Definitely recommend her!
UGA NEEDS MORE PROFESSORS LIKE HER!!! IM SO GLAD IVE TAKEN THIS CLASS!
Ms. Rogers is AMAZING! She is so understanding/will do whatever she can to reduce the stress of students. Tells you exactly what you need to know for the tests. I didn't read the textbook, but my class had online exams so we could search the ebook. There are a few questions on each test from the textbook - inquisitive is helpful. Easy class.
Professor Rogers is fantastic. Her lectures made the course really interesting and easy to understand. At the end of every lecture, she encouraged students to reach out if they had questions or even just wanted to talk about the topic. She truly cares for students as people, which is rare at such a big school. Highly recommend!
Dr. Rogers is one of THE BEST professors I have ever had! She truly cared about our wellbeing and assigned fun articles, interesting assignments, and films worth talking about.
Dr. Rogers was awesome! She makes the material very interesting and sometimes you get to vote what you want to learn about towards the end! She really cares about her student's wellbeing and created a safe learning environment. Everyone should take this class! Her lectures are always interesting and I always look forward to her class!
Dr. Rogers was an amazing teacher and her class was how all intro classes should be. The class was straightforward with easy discussions and I even got to watch some interesting movies/shows for them. I 10/10 recommend this class to anyone because it's so easy with a ton of extra credit opportunities as well!
She really cares about the well being of her students. She gave out 10 pop quizzes throughout the semester for attendance purposes, but she always told us the answers. Lectures were interesting and we even got to watch documentaries and TV shows. I never read the book and ended with an A. She is an amazing teacher and I recommend her.
Dr. Rogers is a great professor!! She is really considerate of her students schedules and does a great job of making her lectures entertaining, interesting and engaging. She lectures very fast, so be prepared to take good notes.
This class was interesting and it was so easy! I enjoyed it a lot and Professor Rogers is amazing! Take this class!!
She cares so much about the class and lectures are never boring. She likes to include things that students can relate to to make the class more interesting. She is super sweet and funny and was so passionate about what she taught. The tests really are not hard, and the pop quizzes she always tells you in class, that might just be a Covid thing.
I had Dr. Rogers during Covid and she was extremely accommodating and caring! She is honestly the best and the material is not hard whatsoever!
Very straightforward class. Weekly discussions and quizzes that don't take long to do. She's organized and energetic about teaching. She let us pick the topic for some of the lectures which was cool. She makes the class interesting and relatable. Recommend for a fun intro class
This was my second class with Dr. Rogers and I loved it! We had 3 tests and a final paper. The tests were multiple choice with one short essay response question (around 200 words), and the content was based on the main ideas of the films we watched, the main takeaways from our weekly class discussions, and details from articles we read.
This class was enjoyable and had a fair workload. There is a recommended schedule to follow, which really helped me to pace the assignments. If you read the textbook and/or PowerPoints, you should be able to get an A.
Dr. Rogers is an amazing and very sweet woman. You have to really try hard to not receive an A in her class. Lectures, readings, and videos are always interesting and engaging so there's no excuse not to do well in her class. Easiest professor I've had at the U!
I took this class during the Pandemic. Dr. Rogers went above and beyond for her students, she took videos of her lecturing and gave us a lot of supplemental material that was really interesting and engaging. She gave the class the freedom to vote on what we wanted to cover the last couple weeks. She is a wonderful teacher and I learned a lot.
A genuinely very good online professor. So sweet. Content is easy and interesting. Assignments are not bad at all. Lenient and takes her students into consideration. LOVE!!
Dr. Rogers is one of the best professors at UGA. I had her for this class as well as intro to Soci and she is the most caring and understanding professor there is. Research methods is boring material in my opinion but she makes it much less boring. Take her!
The nicest and most understanding professor ever! She wants you to do well and makes this class stress free as possible.
Prof Rogers is super nice & knows how to run an online class. She sends weekly emails with upcoming due dates and even extra credit opportunities. The class is pretty easy: read chapters from textbook with quizzes, watch a video/movie then write a discussion post, & take your tests. She posts recorded lectures so you can see her & have a connection
Good.
Dr. Rogers is easily the most understanding professor I have ever had. She cares very much about what she is teaching and truly loves doing it. Attendance wasn't necessary but lectures weren't posted and pop quizzes were only announced in class, you most likely won't pass without attending. Highly, highly reccomend!
Dr. Rogers is AMAZING! Not only is this class a super easy A, but her lectures are so interesting and there's only two extremely easy tests and a group presentation at the end. There are pop quizzes but she always gives the answers and warns us when they're coming. She's SUPER caring for her students and the sweetest person ever. TAKE HER!
Online asynchronous class. Quizzes and tests are easy. Discussion posts are also easy. Lowest effort A I have gotten so far. I recommend.
easiest class ive ever taken. if you need a general elective, take this class!
Dr. Rogers is a great professor for SOCI 1101E. She is always willing to answer any questions, and all of her assignments/quizzes/tests are straightforward and easy if you read the material. This class is easy to take with other more difficult classes, and an A is easy if you just read and do the work.
Professor Rogers has to be the nicest professor I have had at UGA. She is extremely caring and only wants the best for her students. Her class was extremely easy and assignments were straightforward. You learn a lot and it gives you a different perspective on human nature.
By far the easiest class and professor I've had at UGA. I spent less than an hour (sometimes just 30 minutes) every Sunday working on this class If you're thinking about taking the class, take it.
This is one of the simplest courses I've ever taken. She responds to emails very quickly. Read the syllabus and do your homework. No doubt you'll end with an A. Amazing prof.
Excellent professor, I would highly recommend! She sends reminders about due dates and the work is not overwhelming. Quizzes/tests are easy if you engage with the material (read the work and watch her videos!!) like some liberal arts classes at UGA the political opinions/agenda is very strong but nothing out of the ordinary.
She is the professor I have had so far at UGA. She really focuses on lecturing, but she always makes sure everyone is understanding. She is very understanding of mental health and is very accommodating.
Dr. Rogers was really kind and considerate of students and their lives outside of the classroom. She sees students as more than just entities she's paid to teach, she deeply cares for each student on a personal level.
Dr. Rogers is an incredible professor! I loved attending lecture every day, and she does a really good job at varying the content of class sessions to keep it interesting. She is so, so caring and understanding - cannot recommend her enough!!!
This QUEEN made expectations very clear throughout the class and made content fun and interactive. Also created videos, posted useful resources, and clearly wanted her students to succeed. It would be your privilege to be in her class.
Easiest class ever. If you need to take sociology. Take it online. Dr. Rogers is very communicative and there are very few assignments. It will take about 30 minutes each week for this 3 credit course
One of the best teachers I've had at UGA. So caring and accessible outside of class and clearly knows what she is talking about. If you are looking for a sociology elective, I could not recommend Dr. Rogers enough!
Love her so much! You can tell she really cares about her students, especially ones that put in effort. She doesn't take attendance but does 10 random pop-quizzes throughout the semester which is just signing your name on a paper. Tests are the open note and easy if you've paid attention in class. I hope I get the chance to take her again!
LOVE PROFESSOR ROGERS. TAKE HER!! She has 10 pop quizzes but they are so easy it is usually just an attendance check in where she asks you to write your name on a sheet of paper. Super fun class and a group project at the end. She is super understanding and will always be there if you need to talk literally about anything!! Best professor ever.
Dr. Rogers is AMAZING. Super kind, interesting and up to date lectures, takes student feedback seriously.
Great class, would take any thing she's the professor for. Even when she has lots going on in her own life she makes sure students feel she is accessible and understanding of their issues.
Dr. Rogers is the best professor I have ever had & she is so inclusive and kind!! She truly cares about her students well being in and out of the classroom. She tries to make her class as straight forward and stress free as possible! There were 2 super easy open note tests and a group project that is meant to be fun at the end of the year! Take her
10/10, very personable and kind!
Dr Rogers is very cool, a good lecturer, and a very understanding professor. Can't recommend this class enough. Graded by 2 Tests, 1 final project and a few attendance pop quizzes. If you show up, you will get an A and the lectures are super interesting.
Doctor Rogers is the sweetest lady ever! She is super accessible both in and out of class, always willing to work with students, and makes her class as stress-free as possible. Super fun and engaging lectures. There is a lot of material, but she doesn't over-assign work at all. Show up to class and you will do very well. Can't recommend her enough!
One of the best professors I've had at UGA. She is extremely kind and understanding. She always makes class interesting. Take her if you can!
Dr. Rogers is so sweet! She was very understanding and her class was very interesting. Really enjoyed the in-class discussions.
Even though this was an online course, Dr. Rogers was an awesome instructor! She was always very responsive to emails and provided a loose calendar for students to follow, which was very helpful. The course relied on reading the textbook, but it was pretty interesting and easy to follow.
my queen. i loved her. take this class. you won't regret it.
Dr. Rogers is the GOAT. I would take her for every class if I could. She is the nicest, most caring and accessible teacher. She is so knowledgable and passionate and her lectures are always interesting. Great person. 100% recommend taking her class.
Dr. Rogers is great!! All of her tests are online and open note to reduce test anxiety (which is awesome.) She also has very interesting lectures! The only major grades are pop quizzes which are easy as long as you attend, but she tells you in advance. She is also very understanding when it comes to absences due to mental health. 10/10 take again
This class is very easy with Dr. Rogers. She will randomly take attendance 10 times through the semester through "pop quizzes" otherwise she doesn't take attendance. All assignments, tests and the final are online. She is very passionate about Sociology and her lectures are interesting. Would recommend.
Dr. Rogers is a great professor! She really cares about her students and is understanding of life circumstances. Her lectures were really interesting and the tests were open note and online, so grading was straightforward. There are 10 pop quizzes throughout the semester, but they are just to track attendance. Definitely take Dr. Rogers!!
All the tests were open note, open book, and online with the whole day to complete. She is a strong Marxist and definitely has her opinions about the topics she teaches. Class is mandatory, as she gives out random pop-quizzes (where you just write your name on a paper) and note taking is a must for the exams. Several extra credit opportunities too.
Great professor, very interesting lectures, tests were easy
Dr. Rogers is an amazing lecturer and the lectures were able to hold my interest the whole time. As long as you read the textbook and take your notes you should pass all the tests with a great grade. Dr. Rogers is so kind and caring and is there to help you succeed. Def recommend.
I enjoyed this class and learned so much! You just have to take lecture notes and be in attendance to get credit for her quizzes. I didn't have much interest/grasp on sociology and I learned so many interesting things. She genuinely cares for all of her students.
Don't judge a book by a cover. This class is very much one of those situations. I thought the professor seemed a bit off...but she is amazing at her job and if you can take this class you definitely should. She really does care and you will not be bored.
I enjoy coming to class. Dr. Rogers is professional, engaging and the content is interesting. She deeply cares about her student's mental health. She can go through material quickly sometimes. No pictures allowed in class, no slides posted, so it can be difficult to get information down sometimes. Exams cover more textbook than in class content imo
She is awesome, super understanding of anything that may come up, easy open book tests, and really cares about her students. There are pop quizzes but they are usually just an attendance check and she basically tells you when they'll be. She's great :D
Dr. Rogers is an amazing professor and you can tell she cares about her students. She makes lectures interesting and engaging, and also does Pop Culture Fridays, where she'll show an episode of a show or something like that. There are 4 pop quizzes but they're usually just based on attendance. Overall, very great!
Dr. Rogers is a gem! She really cares about her students and makes the class very straightforward as far as assignments and grading go. Lectures were super interesting and assignments/tests were very easy to do well on as long as you gave at least some effort. I would 100% take her again!
She is such a sweet human being and really cares about all of her students. She is very passionate and her lectures are detailed and interesting. Sometimes she goes into too much detail and you have to finish taking notes at home, but the tests are easy and you can use your textbook.
Very understanding that students are from all majors. Tests are online and come straight from book and lectures. She offers extra credit. Attendance is not mandatory, but there are random pop quizzes. You are allowed two mental health days where if you notify her before class you're excused of all grades that day and can make it up. she's awesome.
This is the easiest class I have taken at UGA. Dr. Rogers makes the lectures so engaging and she is also an incredibly kind human. The tests are easy and straight forward along with simple pop quizzes. Highly recommend!!!
Loved her. The lectures were interesting, and she tells a lot of funny stories. The tests and pop quizzes are super easy, and she provides a lot of extra credit opportunities. Only downside would be that sometimes not everything can be fit into class time, so we had notes to take or videos to watch outside
By far one of my favorite professors. Her classes were very interesting, even if the topic itself did not seem as intriguing, her stories and anecdotes made every better. Tests were online, as long as you go to class you will be fine. Daily attendance was not mandatory but we had pop quizzes. I could not recommend her more, take her classes!!
I love her so much! Open note tests, interesting lectures, and easy other assignments. 10 pop quizzes throughout semester- some were as easy as writing your name on a paper, and some were mini essays. All depends on your class behavior. Make sure to participate and not talk too much or she'll make the quizzes harder. Def take her!!
Dr. Rogers was an amazing professor, she has presentations for every lecture but does not post them online so be sure to write down everything on each slide. There is no attendance but there is pop quizzes at anytime, if your class does not participate the quizzes will start to be accuracy graded rather than just writing your name on a paper.
Dr. Rogers is one of the most caring professors I've had. Her class was super easy and I enjoyed her lectures. She doesn't post slides online and there are occasional pop quizzes so even though attendance isn't required, you won't do well if you don't go to class. Exams were online and open note, so as long as you take decent notes you'll be fine.
Loved this class!!!! The content is super interesting and easy to understand. There are spontaneous pop quizzes in class for attendance but they are easy and not stressful. I ended with over a 100 in the class and I put in a little above average work into the class. TAKE DR. ROGERS!
You have to read a lot of articles, but they're on ELC. Tests are open note and in class (you can no longer take it at the dorm at any time you want). However, it is a intersting class and I learned a lot. She gives pop quizzes for participation, but they're very easy. There's extra credit! Take good notes! She's stress-free and shows she cares.
Honestly no complaints. I love Prof Rogers. You'll get an A if you go to class, take notes, read the articles, and watch the pop culture items.
Dr. Rogers is one of the best teachers I've had at UGA. She is the most caring about all of her students success. Research methods is one of her main classes and she helps set you up for CJ internship amazingly. Feedback is amazing, tests are simple so you can focus on your paper, and questions are always welcome. Take her for any class honestly.
Professor Rogers makes her SOC1101 class engaging and manageable. With interesting lectures, flexible policies, and helpful study tools like unstuck AI, she creates an environment where students can succeed. The tests are straightforward, and extra credit opportunities make the class enjoyable.
Sociology 1101 online was very organized and a great class. The tests and quizzes are very fair and simple. The class is a quiz and discussion post every week and a few tests. She posts videos and slides to learn the material and it is not very hard at all! I recommend taking her!
Dr. Rogers is the best dude. She gives great feedback on papers, her TAs can be a bit iffy, but she keeps them in check. As long as you go to class you'll be good, she explains everything about the capstone paper very well. She's very understanding so don't be scared to ask questions or raise concerns!
super easy class. i had to take it for premed and i actually found it very interesting. she is the sweetest teacher ever and really cares for her students. she does give 10 pop quizzes throughout the semester though. they are super easy
one of my fav profs ever! this class is so cool and very manageable. the tests are not bad, but def make sure to study for the right things. its easy to stay engaged and theres extra credit.
Great online course to take if your looking for an elective. You are graded on discussions, quizzes, and exams. Very laid back class, but also very interesting. I would take this professor again.
I loved Dr. Rogers! She's very nice, and cares a lot about student wellbeing. She also “doesn't believe in grades,” but in the sense that the class is easy to understand and perform well in. Quizzes are mostly based on in class participation, and there's one group project at the end where you present on a topic you choose. Good class!
The most amazing professor of all time. Class is so interesting and easy but she also is engaging and receptive to students. Attendance counts, "pop quizzes" are usually just attendance grades. She's so sweet and offers so much extra credit. Exams are pretty much open note. Would take this class a million times over if I could.
