being with her really disappointed me. i got a P in her class, which stands for passing. its like a D grade. i was so close to failing. every week i had to go to tutoring because she cant teach. that**** crazy
I THINK PROFESSOR ROTH WAS A GOOD TEACHER I HAVE BEEN OUT OF SCHOOL FOR 15 YEARS AND TOOK HER AND I HAD NO ALGEBRA IN HIGHSCHOOL. SHE WAS A VERY THOROUGH TEACHER ALSO GAVE NOTES AND EVERY CLASS ASKED IF WE HAD QUESTIONS GAVE ALOT OF QUIZZES WHICH HELPED BRING AVERAGES UP AND I ONLY GOT A C BUT SHE PREPARED ME FOR CHEMISTRY AND I AM DO A B IN CHEM.
i transfered to gcc from asu and was required to take this class.. i figured it would be easy but not with this teacher. she's horrible, she cant teach, barly knows math herself, and is not helpful to anyone. Worst teacher ive ever had i recommend not taking her. I just finished intermediate algebra and i swear it was the same class
I just finished Mrs. Roth class and she wasnt the greatest professor i've had. She never took time to make sure everyone understood her lession. Most of the time the whole class was lost. Most of her student has taken her class more than three times.I was happy to even pass. She would always make up a new excuse up about why she makes mistakes.
This was the worst professor I have ever had at GCC. I went to every class and never learned ANYTHING. I was begining to count how many times someone asked a question and how many times she actually answered it. She is nothing but a waste of time and money toward your education.
she was a sweetheart, a bit bubbly at times. if you have never had algebra before i can see where she might be a bit confusing, but just do the homework and read over the material, and prepare for her test by doing practice problems. She gives you extra credit points all the time, and if you fill in a letter wrong on the scantron she will change it
HORRIBLE, never answered questions, didnt care if you followed her instruction. if you asked a question she would tell you to go to the LRC because she had to move on. I got nothing out of this class but a D. i am an A student. she sucks!!
She is a nice lady but can not teach. The smarter students in the class are the ones who teach it through there questions and from pointing out her numerous mistakes. If you ask for help or you do not understand it she just looks at you and says you need to practice or go get help. She has no grasp on the material she is trying to teach. Avoid!
Mrs. Roth made me see what mistakes I was making so I finally understood algebra. she is very helpful and patient. One of the best teachers I ever had.

She cares a lot about her students. She gives a lot of homework though. If you pay attention and do your homework then you will succeed in her class.

very nice, refers to the book for examples which is helpful when doing homework. if you are stuck on something she will help you understand it better...her class is enjoyable
Obviously if were taking 050 we need more then just a review, but unfortunatly that's all this teacher does BARLEY. A big ditz. Will just barley review the sections will give you a few examples then move on, lot of times she would never finish a problem completely she would just tell you the answer. My advice would be to hire a tutor.
One of the worse instuctors I've ever had at GCC. Class started out with 30+ students more than half the class dropped. Maybe four of the students left learned anything. If you understood the lesson, no problem. If you didn't understand the lesson, oh well. Save your money take a different class.
She is a very sweet lady,but a little ditsy at times. She is very helpful, and will help you out if youve missed tests, and answers emails really quickly. I'd reccomend her.

Class was hard, so I went to her office hours and she reviewed every problem that gave me trouble. If you do your homework and extra credit point you can do well in the course.
horrible, if your bad at math you will not be able to pass with here she's a complete ditz, her test are all multiple choice and very tricky. whats worst is she's the head of the whole math department!!
Listen.. Mrs. Roth is tough well HW wise. HW is ridiculous though way to many problems! Never used the book only for problems she gave for class work. Love the fact that if you go in for her for help she gives you sample tests and told me they are the same problems just changes numbers around. This class really requires HW so please do it!
The majority of the class failed. Not even sure how I managed to pass the class. Doesn't explain the material well and has a certain attitude that is offensive. Basically doesn't teach well. If you need remedial math don't choose this teacher.

I took her for this course after I didn't pass the same class for another teacher. She is very helpful whether it's for homework or tests. If you don't know an answer, just go up to her and she'll explain step-by-step. Oh and she's nice too!

She seems nice, but her teaching skills are not worth it. She doesn't know how to answer our questions or help people when they need it. Her process is confusing and overall, I just wanted to sleep in that class. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS!

Always prepared every class
Roth was the worst math professor I have ever had! I already don't understand math too well and would leave class with a splitting head ache afterwards. All homework is submitted through MyMathLab which was a plus. I would recommend going to the tutoring center while taking the class.

I took this as a web enhanced class. Your tests are online and you can take them as many times as you want. And if you did the homeworks and get all 100's its impossible to fail the class. Take the homework serious it will save your grade!
Terrible, does not teach properly and when u ask a question it doesn't even help because she doesn't explain it to you. I do not recommend her at all unless you plan on learning the material on your own
This class was extremely boring, but so easy. You are assigned 3-4 each week, and 4 tests, which you can retake. The class is graded on h.w. if you get a 100 on all your homeworks, you could get a zero on the final and still pass. everything except final is online. DO HOMEWORK!

I took this class as a Hybrid class, the professor doesn't really teach you anything. If you don't know anything about Algebra, I wouldn't take this class. But the homework and test were all online and you can keep taking them till you get it right, so it's a easy A but you will have to learn it yourself.
She is not helpful at all. When you ask her a question, she either has no clue what you're talking about or just completely ignores you. She makes you come to every class even though all assignments are online. She doesn't teach, she makes you teach yourself. She can be very rude during class. DONT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR

She is an awesome teacher. All the homework and test are online. If you need the help she is willing to sit down and help you get to understand the questions you are having trouble on.
It's a hybrid class but she has a mandatory attendance policy... and when you go to class she doesn't even really teach you just do your online homework there. It's the most pointless thing and she is not very understanding. So I would not recommend her if you aren't that good at math, you do all the work yourself.
Just follow the schedule and you will do great
Professor Roth was a mediocre professor. Algebra is a hard subject for me and the way she taught that class often made it difficult for me. For example, if you ask her to further explain how to do an equation, she would show you how to do it the exact same way she showed you the first time the problem made you confused.
HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT TAKE HER. she doesn't t help you when you need it. everything is done online except for the final. If you need a lecture class and aren't able to basically teach yourself do not take her class.

I took her hybrid class and it is the easiest class ever. During class she only read off the slides, this class was a waste of time. All grades are online and you have multiple chances to get 100. she's nice but VERY BORING. If you're good at math and want an easy A then take her.
If you are not good at math, do NOT take her. She makes you pay 100 dollars to access everything online. She barely does any teaching, you have to teach yourself. Everything is online and her lectures don't even help you complete the work. I don't understand how she even gets paid to be a teacher when she doesn't teach.

I had Professor Roth for my first ever college class this past Summer, and I was so happy I chose her class! Professor Roth made my high school to college transition so much more smooth than I had ever thought. She did not only go the extra mile to help students and explain every unit so well, she also made friendly conversation with the class!
All I have to say is DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!! worst teacher I've ever had!!
Professor Roth is a very kind and caring Professor. Any time any of the students needed help she'd help them all the way through the problem. There was be lots of homework, but if you kept up with it, it wasn't bad at all. If you don't finish the homework by the due date she won't let you turn it in late and you'll get an F for that homework.
I was in a car accident half way through Ms Roths class and could not do my online work because I had a concussion. During this time, she gave me zeros and was not understanding with what that would do to my grade. I sent her doctors notes but she still did nothing. She also teaches from a projector so the notes were very hard to keep up with.
I had no problems w/ her until I had a death in my family which caused me to have to drive over 1100 miles and miss one assignment. She does put it in her syllabus that she gives no extensions for any reason, but for a person to just flat out say grieving isnt a valid reason to miss an assignment, is heartless.
This class was so boring but every assignment is done at home including tests and finals so if you're fine with using photomath for the whole semester it's an easy A. If you actually want to learn something I would not recommend she makes mistakes a lot and doesn't really know what she's doing.
If you struggle with math DO NOT take this class. Professor Roth did not teach AT ALL and treated the entire course as a review. She expected us to know material that we didn't know and instead of teaching it she would either write the answer on the board or just walk around questioning why no one knew the answer. The course is homework and test.
My favorite college professor. Wanted the more friendlier and warmer people when u know her.

She really isn't that bad it's just she's very passive aggressive. She will call you out in front of the whole class and lowkey roast you. The assignments are all online (homework &tests) but it's all super easy. She isn't a good teacher and doesn't explain anything. If you actually want to learn something don't take this. My friend ChatGPT helped
