My favorite teacher!

What?? She does NOT allow you to form your own political views. She will randomly insert her liberal propaganda. She is nice but very liberal. Allows you to form your own political views? Wow - just wow.

If you're a good writer, the course is pretty easy. She explains exactly what she wants. If you do your work and ask her for her opinion, it's not too hard to get an A. Says funny things during class, but sometimes it's boring. You have work at writing essay and put time into it.

She's moving to Mexico because Bush was elected. She's pretty nice, just be sure you get on her good side. She's a picky grader, but you learn stuff. She's got a good sense of humor.

a very liberal minded teacher and not afraid to show it. did not seem like the conservative students minded though. a bit harsh on grading. sometimes the lecture can be a bit tedious, but more often than not it's enjoyable.

She is a very good teacher, she is very clear about what she wants and if you have any questions she is always there to help. a lot of reading but she discusses all the reading thoroughly. she also has a good sense of humor, a heavy work load, but you learn a lot

Ms. S is GREAT! Not easy, but you learn a LOT. Inspiring and fun. Really enjoyed this class. Much better than any other English classes I've had here. Very helpful and encouraging. Wants you to succeed but you have to earn it, too.

Ms. S. is an AWESOME teacher! if you do the reading and ask appropriate q's you'll be fine. She goes all out for you, so there's no reason NEone should fail. The more interested you seem, the more interesting you are. Remember that (for all your classes, but especially Ms. S's).

She really does not see others view if they are not her own. It is her way or no way. She picks out of certain people in her classes and while the others just site. Makes you feel like your opinion does not matter. I took a creative writing class from her and regret the day i met her.

One of the best teachers on campus. Patient and reliable. She is a feminist but not a man hater. If she doesnt like you then you then its probably because you are probably not that bright and wasting her time.

Ms. Schachner is one of the best professors I've ever had: tough but fair, and very insightful when it comes to critiquing writing. My writing improved by leaps and bounds over the semester, and I looked forward to her class each week. Perimeter's darn lucky to have her.

Not easy, unless you can already write pretty well. She's fun, funny and very insightful. Writing has improved greatly since starting this class. If you have talent and are willing to participate in class and just do the assignments, you'll do just fine. Just don't be boring.

She's very intelligent and is more than fair on writing assignments, in highschool my writing was to guote a previous post "horbile" :P but i got A's on all my tests and papers except for the final which i got a B. She's so sweet and she really cares about her students and their futures. She pushes you to find connections in the journalism industry, which is great!

This is a lot of busy out-side work! it is a workshop class though...so you get to wait to the end to do all the work! She is really cool and she really does improve your writting, a lot. Just take her class seriously.

I took the regents prep essay class, so my view on "easiness" reflects as such. Miss S is such a radiantly wonderful person and teacher with the patience of a nun. It would be an absolute priviledge to be in one of your classes again. Thank you for being you. The messy "I just had great sex before class" hair is hot.

Awesome, funny as hell, not afraid to tell you what she thinks- so you better be ready for that in workshop- if you cant take criticism decently - don't take her and for god sake's listen to what she says-she has a friggin PHD- don't argue- SHES THE TEACHER! If you do you work, show up ON TIME you will love it- great jewelry taste :)

I have to be honest. I was kinda expecting an easy class, here. I was pleasantly surprised to find it wasn't. This class is challenging. Ms. Schachner is an absolutely wonderful teacher, and is my favorite teacher this semester. I've had one other english teacher this good, and that was in 9th grade. Thanks, Ms. S, for being a great teacher.

Not difficult-very fun. She'll improve your understanding of writing and make you a better one if you listen. She knows not all students want to be writers, but she's there to teach the craft, so she does. You'll be a better writer, a better reader when you leave her class. Not completing your portfolio will drop your grade - as it should.

Its not her fault that the two people below are failing her class. They are bitter because they either lacked the adequate writing skills or better yet, their boyfriend lacked the writing skill. Don't post biased comments about a teacher if you didn't even attempt to do well in the class.

Ms. Schachner is a great teacher! As long as you keep up with the assignments and listen to her comments there's no reason why you won't do well in her class. It was also alot of fun! Not boring at all. Loved it!

I think someone is angry that they failed to turn in their portfolio on time and is on a campaign to smear her. Even the suggestion that she's prejudiced in any way is absurd. "Talks about drinking all the time" you say? No she doesn't. She's an award winning published pro. Can't stand hearing your wretched poem wasn't brilliant? Take algebra.

Anna Schacner is a great instructor! Even though Im not the best writer, I am still doing ok in her class. Someone mentioned something about biased comments. I agree dont make biased comments. Some one also said that she didn't like anyone of color. I am african aemrican and she treats me with the same respect as everyone else. Thanks

She is a good professor, she might seem a little serious or intense at first but she is cool. She will joke around with you but she demands respect, and she damn well deserves it, she has a Phd. is going to teach at emory next year, and is a published author. She is not an easy A but she will make you a better writer. Bottom line...Take the class!

She always tries keeping you interested by saying funny comments while she teaches just to make sure you're still paying attention and the topics she gives you to write papers are broad enough to ensure you get to write about something YOU are interested in. :)Before I signed up for her class, 2 other students advised me to take her class.

She is a very difficult teacher. I am struggling in her class, but its hard to say that I don't enjoy her class. I learn something from her class. If you don't like to learn and just want to pass the class then I would say do not take her, those who want to learn she is the best teacher to take.

I took this class 2 semester's ago. It has really helped me to become a better writer. It is hard, but if you care about writing good college papers for classes in the future then you want to take her class. It has really helped me.

I am currently taking her class this semester and i love this lady. she is cool yet professional and if you WANT to learn she will teach you. she is very informative and always ready to help if you help yourself as well. sh is one of my favorite english teachers of all time and i know it will only get tough from here on out but im ready!!! - Aryel

I thought she was a great teacher. I need professors that stay on top of their game, and she did that every class. She tended to get a little aggravated at times with the absences and I could understand that but education is not what it was many years ago. If she does come back to GPC, take her, but I don't think she is coming back.

This professor is a great professor. She is demanding and expects that you put your best foot forward. It does take some time for experienced writers to come out of their "structured" writing styles. If you are open to constructive feedback and some criticism then you will do fine with her.

Professor Schachner, what a fabulous teacher. She is one of my favorite, she cares about you only if you care about her. She bent over backwords to help me make up assignments when I couldnt make it to class, but attendence and being on time is key. She is so cute and funny and a good person. You must buy the book and bring it to class, take her!!!

I don't know why there are so many bad comments about this teacher on here! I took this because I wanted to be a better writer, and I'm already accomplishing that task now half way through. She is without-a-doubt the best teacher I've ever had for any kind of English what so ever. If you want to become smarter and further yourself, take her class.

Writing in proper english without mechanical errors and perfect grammar is hard in general, but Professor Schachner does give you a second chance to rewrite an essay if she thinks that you could improve your overall grade, and she does write comments on your essay to let you know where your weak points are and ways to help make improvements.

If you are interested in learning, either about literature or creative writing, Ms. Schachner is a great prof! She is helpful, fair, knowledgeable, & approachable. On the other hand, if you think hip-hop or comic books are literature or you're looking for an easy A, look elsewhere. You'll earn what you get in her class - and it's well worth it!

I took her two semesters ago and she is not an easy A professor but she can really teach you how to write a paper. If you are willing to work hard for a good grade, she is there for you. This is college and Ms Schachner is a great college professor who wont take slack and disrespect. I loved her! Go Ms Schachner!!

Very fair grader as far as the layout of assignments and papers. I felt like a learned a great deal by taking her. You need your book for sure and come in willing to participate.

She is a great Professor if you want to learn how to write. She will give you a few chances to get a better grade. Do not be late or absent for her class, give the respect she well deserves, and participate enthusiastically during the class and you should be fine.

Schachner is a great professor. She knows her craft and will work with you to improve your own. Oh, she's quite witty and has a great sense of humor. If you want to become a better writer, stick with this one!

Prof. Schachner adapted well to the sudden change of online classes. The material was well organized and easily accessible. If you do the work and give an honest effort, you will be able to pass this class. She took the time to give constructive criticism on essays and put together resources that were beneficial. I wish I could take here for 1102!

Professor Schachner was great! I took her English 1101 course online for dual enrollment. As long as you do your work and follow her guidelines as closely as possible, you will pass. She gives really good feedback on essays and grades fairly. On top of that, she is really kind and you can tell she cares about her students' success. 10/10 recommend!
