The most important thing is that you absolutely DO NOT need a textbook. She explains everything very well just using the board and a marker and does not load with HW. She's funny and caring and patient as well! You'll learn in this class and have fun.

This isn't an easy class to begin with (especially Classical and Keynesian economics). But, take your notes, study some, she is very clear about everything and you should come out with a good grade if you work for it.

Professor Shostya is a very nice woman, even though she has a semi-strict no cell phone policy, her policy is beneficial to others. Her teaching policy is very unique and very helpful. Economics was never an interest of mine, but she gained my attention with her creative teaching methods. I recommend that everyone take her economics courses.

I took Macro in HS and barely passed. I'm taking it again under Shostya and Macro is so much easier when taught with her methods. You may get nervous over her daily recaps of the previous lesson in the beginning of classes, but they help you understand Macro. Her accent's distracting, but you'll get used to it. She's funny & is there after class.

Anna Shotsya is an excellent professor. She really knows what she is talking about and i love the fact that she gives a fast brief summary of everything we learned that day in just 3 minutes.

Prof Shostya is the best economics teacher! I took her for Micro and Macro and soon Money and Banking. She doesnt require textbooks because her notes are good enough. She truly cares and takes time to understand her students. She is one of the sweetest professors you will meet. I hate econ and struggled in class but she really helped me. Don't be afraid to talk to her!

This is a great professor for students who want to push themselves in the field of economics. Tough Grader,No curves. Attendance is mandatory, Book mandatory, Quizzes, Tests, and homework. You will learn a lot from this professor, but every point counts. she really wants you to do well that's why she pushes students so hard.

Shostya is an outstanding Professor. She teaches in china and New York, but the only problem with this professor is she is very strict with everything. Great understandable lectures that are both entertaining and educational. Understanding the syllabus and her grading is a must to getting a good grade. The lectures are the key to passing the tests. Studying lecture helps A LOT, the book is for homework which is supplemental because thats part of your grade too but not critical to passing tests.

One of the best Professors I've ever had at Pace. I hated economics before I took her, and absolutely loved her class. She explains the material so clearly. The people who complain about her are the ones who do not do any work. Economics is a hard subject, and she is not an easy professor. Work hard and you'll be rewarded.

Shostya is an amazing, upbeat professor who is very passionate about economics. She has a wonderful sense of humor which keeps all of us interested in learning. Typically, I tend to fall asleep in class but in this class, I was wide awake during her entire lecture. She replies to e-mails frequently and she always pushes us to work harder.

If you put in work, you will receive an A. Lectures can be somewhat confusing, which is why having a textbook is essential to the course. She never assigns readings but you should always read the chapters listed on the syllabus, especially before quizzes.

Professor Shostya is amazing! One of the best professors at Pace. Her classes are hard, especially Intermediate Micro. You will have to work a lot and trust me, it is for your own good. Her tests are difficult and require preparation, and she does not curve. However, as long as you show progress throughout the course, you will not get a bad grade.

There are few profs like Shostya because she is PHENOMENAL! The lectures are amazing, it is easy to understand the material, the examples she gives are awesome! I hated economics but Prof Shostya made me tolerate it somehow. She is hilarious but can also scare you at times. I didn't buy the textbook; quizzes are based mainly on lecture notes so save your money. All homeworks are online and there is no midterm. The final is easier than the quizzes.

My favorite class all semester. Shostya inspired me to become an Econ major! I highly highly recommend her course. The teacher assistants were incredibly helpful as well. Her lectures are engaging and she doesn't overload you with work. The quizzes and exams are very fair and sometimes a bit challenging. If you put the work in you will be rewarded!

Professor Shostya is the professor that inspired me to change my major to economics. She is very intelligent and her passion for economics shows. Make sure you study for her exams though, and prepare for "reverse lectures". She will gladly sit down with you outside of class to talk about the material or economics in general.

She is truly a great lecturer. Walks around the lecture hall and makes eye contact with as many students as possible. Knowledgeable about the subject and does a great job of explaining. The content is difficult in general but she does her best to make sure you understand; make sure you read the articles she gives and STUDY.

Prof Shostya is charismatic and funny. She really makes an effort to make concepts easy to understand and keeps the students entertained. I found a passion for economics through her and truly found her to be a great teacher. There are many quizzes and a final, as well as homework, but if you pay attention and do it you will be fine, and have fun.

Anna Shostya cares a lot about students but economics is really hard. Lots of self teaching, majority of the class would get 30-40s on the quizzes. Two hour lectures get boring after 30 minutes. Stay on top of studying, assignments, or else you won't understand the material.

Homework, quizzes, participation, final exam. you have to study, but I actually liked the stuff. Got a good grade and taking her micro now. She is definitly passionate about it and explains well, but with masks its not easy to participate.

I would not have survived economics without Prof. Shostya. She is an absolute gem of a woman and teacher. She makes class fun and puts the concepts in easier terms to understand. If you have to complete this credit, take Shostya. She's the very best.
