She appears and has the reputation to be a winch. She is actually very cool, and very nice. Just follow her rules and do not break them by any means.

Have to say that she lays the rules out in black and white up front. Do what she says and you will do fine. She will help you in any way she can.

She definitely knows what she's doing, and has a firm set of rules. However, as long as you pay attention and put your best effort in your speeches, you'll do fine. She also tells a lot of great stories she brings into her lectures!

She lets you know whats expected. Just do it and you'll be fine, act like a baby and you'll fail.

My boyfriend recommended I take her. It was pretty easy you just need to try and show improvement.

She will embarrass you and humiliate you in front of the class if you dont remember everything in your speech. She will not allow you to come to class if you are sick and wear perfume.

Just dress up for her speeches and follow her directions. EASY A I got A's on all my speeches, She is one of the best teachers that I have ever had. If you know what you are talking about and keep your speeches interesting you will do fine.

Took her Fall 08 semester. Very strict and will not tolerate and goofing off! Good instructor. Total of 5 speeches, 5th was the final. *Be Prepared, Practice Your Speeches, and Time Yourself, its IMPORTANT! I got a well-earned B in this class!

Dr. Suess lives in her own world. But she knows what she is talking about. She will tell you exactly what to expect from each speech. Be sure and do each speech HER WAY. Overall I got an A on all 5 speeches and I am definitely a lot more comfortable speaking in front of others, i am glad i took her.

She is not extremely easy and she might be a little intimidating at first, but once you get to know her you will notice that she is very demanding. Make sure you follow her instructions and pay attention in her examples. Don't wait until the last minute to do your speeches, she always knows when you're truely prepared. So PRACTICE!!!

She will tell you exactly what you need for the (5)speeches and you won't have to worry about any tests/quizzes throughout the semester. If you do what she asks for, earning an A won't be difficult as long as you put an effort into practing and timing your speeches.

Dr. SEESE (how its pronounced) is kind of intimidating at first but she's hilarious!! she is demanding of what she expects but be prepared and you'll be fine. it's definitely not impossible to make an A. she's got a twisted sense of humor. I loved it.

Fabulous - I love her & her teaching style- i feared this class but found her delite-ful and help-ful, she know what she wants and you cant BS her so dont even try- do what she says and you can't go wrong- if you cant follow directions take someone else because she spells it all out for you, no guess-work, shes inspiring

Save your money did not use book. She gives you the outline of what she expects, reviews it the first class. Do the research, know and own your subject, practice and use a stopwatch to time yourself. Be prepared. This class is mandatory, no one takes it because it is a fun. You may be surprised at how much you learn about yourself.

i did not get an "A" but that was my fault. she is a verry good teacher. just do the work and ask questions if you need to. she is fun but is tough in a good way. dont get the book. you dont need it. she is a great teacher, one of the best. and she has stories that will make you laugh like crazy. she is fun and worth the time.

Worst class experience I've ever had.I would not recommend this teacher at all.Yea she tells you what she expects of you but what she expects and the strictness of grading is WAY too much for a required intro class.Definitely plays favorites, if you don't do something HER way you'll be on her bad side.Disrespectful.

She is a very strict grader. I received an F for my first speech delivery because I missed the time by 10 seconds. She is unerstning about alot and makes class fun. DO NOT CALL HER DR. SUESS her name is ponounced C-Ess. She is funny and full or crazy stories. You will have more than enough time to prepare A speech.

Very interesting person--she has great stories of amazing experiences. Very inspirational. She is VERY strict and if you slack, your grade WILL reflect it. But, she is also fair and lets you know EXACTLY what she expects, so if you pay attention and do the work, this class will be not only interesting but unforgettable.

At first she seems like a very nice lady that would be an easy class to take. Then when speech day came I was well prepared,and well dressed (in a suit). During my speech I looked down a couple of time at my index cards and she gave me an F. She is not a good teacher for being an intro speech class. She expects way to much of her students!!!!

The first day of class, she acts like a wicked witch and seems to like scaring the students. She ends up being alright, but do not slack. She was very fair with grading even if it's your first time taking speech (she'll act like she isn't). Ended up with a D because of my attendance - so make sure you show up!

Most of the class and I were pretty intimidated by her at first. She is strict but once you get to know her she is funny. She is very helpful and EXTREMELY clear. If you follow exactly what she says to do you will get an A or a B. She grades fairly but make sure you do just what she says or else you will get a bad grade. Overall it was pretty good.

Here is the scoop!!! She is straight forward and do not take any slack! She tells you the first day what she expects, all you have to do is follow the instructions, like you should be! and you will get and easy A! She is fun and full with funny stories. No Slack = A that its all.

Lovehate with Dr. Suess. She's an amazing lady and gives excellent instruction. She's very tough as far as grading and as far as second chances. You most go, and pay attention. Surely theres an easier speech teacher to take. No tests, at all. No homework. 4 speeches. Ended with a B after 3 a's due to being 2 minutes under time on my final speech!

She's tough, yes. But she is clear cut and is overall a great teacher. If you are willing to work you will learn a lot.

I love her! She is amazing and very helpful. Her lectures are fun and very helpful and the grading is basically an A if you practice and do everything she says to do. If you take the course I recommend making your own study and practice group that has really helped!!

Love her! Very interactive with students, tells us about her modeling past, and cuts class really short a lot Lays out speech outline, very simple. Helps with topics. Grades are all speeches, but they're so easy. No extra credit but she will help every step of the way (literally). Gives two separate grades for each speech, outline and delivery.

Professor Suess is my absolute favorite professor and has inspired me more than she'll ever know. She grades hard; deliver a speech that is supposed to be 4 minutes long and its 3.58, you failed. Don't be a jerk in her class, she does not deal with disrespect. She is extremely interesting, 10/10 would recommend asking about her life.

She is honestly the best professor at SPC. She's tough but she makes the class fun. Do the work and you will do well. She seems intimidating but she truly is a fantastic person. She grades fairly if you come prepared and show you are really trying. Also don't mess with her, she doesn't take attitude and will kick you out if you're being a tool.

Speech is a nervewracking course, and Dr. Suess (pronounced Seese) definitely looks intimidating. Just don't get on her bad side. She's actually a great person and understands that we are not expected to be perfect orators. 8 grades, 2 per speech (outline and presentation). Don't skip; she lowers your grade if you do so. Practice and do your best.

Although I wouldn't want to take speech again I actually enjoyed Dr. Suess and this class. I earned an A in all my speeches. As long as you do exactly what she asks and says you will do great. Do not procrastinate on practicing your speeches it will affect your grade for sure.

She is a tough grader but if you follow her syllabus you will be fine. For her speeches you are not allowed to use PowerPoint.

This class was pretty interesting the 1st day, but overall it wasnt that bad. What everyone else is saying is true. She is a tough grader but everything that is in the syllabus is true as well. Im shy and I was able to get over it with her. If you say um....... a lot she will take off points and most likely you will get a C or lower

The best prof. I've had at SPC so far. She makes good speakers out of her students. You have to put in the work but it's worth it. She knows that she's tough and will give you the same respect you give her. Don't skip class and don't skip a speech (especially the final) . Your whole grade is based on 4 speeches and attendance. She's fantastic. Her lectures aren't lectures but just cool stories of her life. Just actually do your work and practice your speech and you'll get an easy A. She has a few things she's particular about but just remember her rules and you'll be fine. DON't GO UNDER TIME YOU'LL GET AN F. Always aim for going over she won't mark you for that.

I read some of the negative ratings towards her after already completing the first week of class and became worried. I will admit, she's tough although fair. As long as you stay on track and utilize her feedback you should be successful. Her class has definitely opened up my abilities in public speaking.

Anyone who rates her down does not fully appreciate her style of teaching. She is wonderful. Smart and is beyond knowledgeable in the area of public speech and communication. Yes, she expects her students to pull their weight, but this is college folks. Time to grow up and stop making excuses. First rate all the way!!
