She knows the material; however, her teaching is terrible. She only cares about getting done with the program; thus, goes extremely fast. Moreover, her tests are very hard, and to top that off, she is a picky grader.
This lady is psycho! She goes WAY 2 fast w/ the material & when asked questions she gives rude remarks. Her tests r super hard & the material is real boring. Lets not 4get 2 mention her bad accent! Sometimes its hard 2 understand what she's saying, and also, her handwriting is MESSY on the board.
SHE sucks. this lady has no idea how to teach. She doesnt let you ask questions and is very unhelpful. i had to drop the class because i couldnt understand her accent. look, just dont take her unless you understand russian, or have a very very very good feel for trig. Good Luck!!!
She wasn't too bad... granted she is very strict and is a hard teacher to pass... but i guarantee you'll know you're stuff forever if you stick it out.
This lady is a freak. you can barely undderstand her and her tests are super hard. She is very picky and takes off tons of points for making a tiny mistake. Shes not very helpful and makes you feel dumb when you aska question. Horrible Professor!
She is an extremely hard grader and a very poor teacher. She does not explain things correctly and her test are extremely hard. She takes off points for the dumbest things that she feels should be there, when they have no real point.
read the other posts. no need to stress that she is the devil. if you can figure where shes from youll get a prize. STAY AWAY IF YOU LOVE YOUR LIFE OR AT LEAST LIKE IT.
omg so easy!!!
I'm sorry but if you think the Professor is bad, you must be dumb. Its not her fault you people probably failed. I did super well and math isnt even my major. She is strict but fair.
STAY AWAY IF YOU LOVE YOUR GPA! She defenitely knows what she is doing, but does not let anyone else know how to do it. VERY HARD Grader! Accent is not too bad, but does not help. Seriously drop the class if you have registered already.... By the end of the semester there was only like three students left in the class. BE WARE!!!!!!
OH MY GOD!!! This woman is by far the most difficult teacher I have ever had in my life!!! But one thing is for sure, she is HIGHLY intelligent. She is a hard grader, but she will make you learn!!! My advice to you guys is to study hard in her class, SLACKING WILL MAKE YOU FAIL!!!
Have to study alot to pass this course. Not too bad of a teacher though, she knows her stuff. If you can't pronounce a professor's last name don't take them.

horrible teacher......psycho!
Well, if you don't know CAL I really well, you're in deep trouble. I'd try someone else :-/
I dropped this class. Homegirl cannot teach, she will write a problem on the board and while you are still copying she moves on to the next thing... VERY frustrating
Extremely picky grader. She covers the material in class too quickly and unclear. Tough Tests and quizzes
good teacher
she knows wut she's doing so just pay attention. very strict grader tho, make sure u tell her why u got the answer u did!!! lol
Very good teacher. If you want to LEARN calculus and later plan to move on to higher math classes, definitely take this professor. She makes every minute of the lecture worth being there for(do not skip class). Definitely a tough teacher and the exams are extremely difficult, but that is probably because she has high expectations from her students.

She is ok, but her tests are hard
Great teacher. Tough and strict, but extremely FAIR! If you're interested in getting a good grade, all you have to do is push yourself. Do all the hw (although not required) and you'll do great!
be prepared to work, u will definetely not breeze by this class.
Oh my Gosh! Do not take a class with this lady you will suffer like I did. I'm the type of student that !STUDIES! and still I had to drop the class. I tried going to her for help and she was not helpfull at all. She ask me what am I doing at her office. anyhow, take at your own risk. Horrible!
Very professsional, organized and well structured class, challenging coursework but nothing impossible.
I took Calculus I in Fall 2001 (and got a C) and didn't take Calculus II until Summer A 2006. I had only a little review time before I started this class, but Professor Wlodarcyzk was willing to spend so much time helping me understand everything that I passed with a B. Imagine if I had the class in a normal semester! She's great!
C'mon now, it's a math class... math is hard in itself. She teaches it well though and i've had much worse. If you just pay attention and do some studying you should do fine. Beleive me, if you take trig with her, Calc. I & especially Calc. II become a breeze! She's a pretty good teach.
This woman spent hours going over homework with me. She responds very promptly to e-mails and will answer every question you ask. She gives frequent quizzes to keep you on top and her tests are straight from the homework. I wish she were teaching Calc III!
Sit in the front and try to be a participant. Ask her questions so you're not an ID number.
ok she is a really good teacher, she takes her time and explains the concepts to you , and even if you don't get it in class she will help you with it in her office hours, just sit in the front participate in class and do the home work (even though it is a lot) it helps a lot when it comes down to the tests.
She's a very nice teacher, and funny at times. She gives the class a little review before each quiz. Quizzes are once everyweek, but they aren't that bad if you do the assigned homework and study. You'll do fine if you pick up the book and read it.
u need the book to do hw...but not used in class...quizzes are once a week...& she'll post answers on her website..she'll give u extra time to finish ur quiz...most quizzes are 1-6 problems..& the exams are kinda long..but she is very nice & funny..makes the class interesting..u gotta study hard like any class...good if u have a grp buddy..
Great professor. Always willing to help. She sometimes goes fast but you can catch up at home. Quiz every week. The class was not that hard and you actually learn.
Thanks to her I am still studying Engineering.... I had such a problem with calculus I tried 3 times.... I took her for Summer A and she was just great... She made it so easy to understand and she simplify the formulas... GREAT TEACHER
very hard professor! Took her for summer A. You must do all the homework and study A LOT.. quizes twice a week.. tests are very challenging! She is very knit picky with how she grades because she wants your answers to be perfectly written with each step (her way!). She seems to play favorites and it wil reflect in your grade. Got a B+
You need to study for this class. Memorize formulas. Quiz every other day (this is very helpful for the exams) Two Exams and the Final. She gives credit to your willingness to learn. If you have a low average GET a high score on the FINAL! She is not friendly but She will listen to your comments.
great teacher. not the frendliest person in the world. she comes in and does what she has too but shes very willing to help. she breaks everything down so that everyone can understand. quiz a week but they help aloooot, alot of them are the same questions she uses on her exams. great teacher, if you have trouble in math...take her!
Excellent teacher. explains everything you need to know for the tests. Attendance is not mandatory but you will be lost if you dont go to class. assigns a lot of homework but not collected so its up to you to understand what was taught in class. not hard to get an A. study for her tests. Her website is useful in what to expect for the test!!!!!
This teacher is supposed to be harder than other college algebra teachers, but I did just fine in her class. She gives 5 exams and a final and every now and then gives small quizzes. If she notices the class is doing bad on exams she makes hw mandatory, but usually she doesn't follow through on it. She is very clear and always anwsers questions.
this woman is the devil. she trys to teach way too fast. if you ask a question about something she thinks is easy, she'll make rude remarks to embarass you infront of the class. we had a quiz everyday. her accent is not a joke. i put forth a ton of effort, did all my homework, went to every class, took time out to get tutoring, and i still FAILED!
her tests were HORRRRRIBLEEEEEEEE. she gives reallyyy good notes has an amazing way of clearly teaching the material. BUTT HER TESTS WERE KILLER. had to dropp cuz she knocked off SOOOOOOOOOOO Many points off for each and everything. class did so bad on the tests more than half of the ppl dropped on the last drop date. look for anotherteacherrrr.
Her tests are hard but she is always availiable during her office hours and is really helpful. She has an accent but you can still understand her clearly. Funny at times. Calculus isnt a breeze with any professor so just study, do the hw, go to her office hours whenever you need help, and you'll be fine. Bottom line- shes a good instructor
She is a very good teacher, explains things clearly, and is open to help anybody out with her flexible office hours. But her exams are not easy. Work hard, do all the homework, and getting an A is not impossible. I recommend taking her if you will continue Calculus (or love math).
Exellent Professor but hard class. Exam every other class.
She moves through sections too quickly!
This woman is torturous. She moves quickly through the material in a hard-to-follow russian accent. Her class average was about a 50% on every test, though after each test, more and more students had already dropped the course. STUDY FOR HOURS because she picks real monsters for her exams. Takes off points for EVERYTHING, even if the answer's right
She is a tough teacher. She explains very well. But you must stay on top. If you review after, and keep up you will be ok. Her accent is funny, and she is nice to work with. See her after hours. Go over tests. She always looks to trick you.
Her class is very tough, but if you work hard, and just give it your best, you will learn a lot from her. She is a good teacher, but sometimes she goes too fast.
Great Professor! I recommend her 100% She explains very extremely well. Calc.II is not an easy subject and you need to practice as much as you can, that is why she sends a lot of homework but it's all worth it. Her tests are a bit hard, and make sure you are clear on your exams in regards to signs and symbols. She is always ready to help you.
Professor Wlodarczyk is excellent! Although she's a really tough grader, she knows the material and how to explain it clearly. But be prepared for hard work. If you think you are just going to sit there and relax, then good luck ! Do your homework, go to her office, stay after class for free tutoring. She is really helpful!
Excellent professor. I have learned more in her class than in any other mathematics course I have ever taken. If you are a dedicated student, you will do just fine in her class. She is very clear in her explanations and extremely helpful. I don't see why any serious science major would choose another professor.
Great professor. She is clear, knows her stuff, and is willing to help outside of class.
I had her section that had Wiley Plus and book work. She gives a loooot of assignments from the online work and from the textbook. However, she is an excellent professor who knows her stuff. She likes to crack jokes and make mistakes on purpose to see if you notice. I really liked her. You just have to do the practice problems to everything!
I had her for college algebra over the summer and I'd recommend her. She has an accent but it's not that bad. She does go kind of fast but if you do all the homework you'll be fine. She was always there to answer questions and she's always available through email. She is a little blunt but hey, not everyone in this world is gonna be nice. The material was a little complicated but it wasn't rocket science. She gives a lot of extra credit opportunities.I got an A in the class but it wasn't that bad
I only had this class on Mondays so attending class was mandatory. On the other hand, i had to learn the material myself which comes from the homework. the tests are based on the homework. As for the teacher, she knows the material and was always willing o help.
she can teach very well but please listen DONT TAKE HER CLASSSSS HER TEST ARE IMPOSSIBLE CLASS AVERAGE FOR TEST HAS ALWAYS BEEN AN F dont choose her
Shes the worst teacher ever! DONT TAKE HER!! She dosen't help you, she dosen't explain anything, and she gives a lot of homework and a quiz every day!
She's a great teacher, if you pay attention to her and ask questions she will help. I had her when she used online hw and you can learn from the hw. I would definitely take her again for 2313 because her ability to teach.
AWESOME PROFESSOR! Attendance is not mandatory but if you don't go to class you're not going to pass. Do the online work and participate in class. This class takes a minimum of 5 hours a week of practice work and online work for the average student to get a decent grade but is by no means impossible.
Very good professor. Great at teaching. Took first semester with Katri and failed and then took Wlodarcyzk and got an A. Do the work and pay attention and you will pass. Her accent is not a big deal you can understand her perfectly fine.
She is a very strict teacher. Her tests have to be perfect like she wants them or she will fail you. So if you take her, make sure your work is the way that she does it or else she will mark it wrong. She yells alot too, which is very annoying. Helpful in office hours but not in the classroom.
Difficult class, and difficult tests. But if you attend class, do the homework and study for the exams (what most classes require!) you'll be fine. Ana did a great job explaining the material and answering questions.
She explains well and writes neatly. She requires attendance and 3 hours a week in the math lab which is a lot and her tests have to be the ways she does it.
She sends you the notes ahead of time. To get a good grade you have to do well on the tests, and you have to spend 3 hours in lab every week. Easy course, not difficult to get a B at worst
Her accent was very hard to understand, and everything was on the computer. Her handwriting was very sloppy and hard to comprehend.
She has a thick accent and is a little rude when you ask her for help. If you're familiar in the subject, take her because the tests are basically ypur grade in the course. She requires lab attendance and often takes attendance during the lectures. Not many extra credit opportunities, but EVERYTHING is online. Lectures, homework, quizzes, and exams.
Mandatory attendance sucks. She teaches pointless stuff half the time. Hard to understand her accent. 3 lab hours a week sucks.
Calculus is hard.. You have to spend hours and hours of practice in order to do well. Took her with the extended Calculus course which is about 2hrs a class MWF. Had TA to help but most of them are not that helpful. Do the chapter reviews and will pass. Hard class!
Her entire class is online. She teaches useless things in class. Her accent is incredibly thick and her handwriting is horrible. She has a tendency to be a little rude when asked for help.
The first day of class, she said "I'm not here to teach you and the LA's aren't here to tutor you". I should've dropped then...
Online, 3 lab hours a week. Lecture twice a week. If you class doesnt show up the first few weeks, she will send you an email saying that shes taking attendance. Finished with a C+ ;/ . There may be a better teacher, but its not impossible.
Calculus is hard so don't expect a professor to teach you everything! She defiantly knows her stuff and will teach you as long as you are willing to interact and you are not afraid of being questioned. Do the assigned HW (not mandatory) and do the reviews and you will be fine! Also, attend class! I strongly recommend her :)
Tried extremely hard, but came up short. The TAs are very useless. Extremely harsh grader. No partial credit. Impossible if its your first time taking calculus, only take her if you already failed calculus and you got a good understanding prior to the class, which still won't help much cuz if ur way is very different to hers, no credit...
The class isn't so bad but you basically have to be independent. Don't expect to learn much in lectures as you need to teach yourself. You're going to be going to the Math lab for approximately 3 hours a week and yes it IS mandatory as well as lecture if kids end up not coming. The class is do-able. Good luck!
Took class with LA's. LA's were very helpful and taught us more than she did. Our lectures werent done by her, instead we had to watch some guy on youtube. She changed the syllabus after the drop date and didnt tell anyone. I confronted her about it at the end of the semester and she refused to give me the extra points i deserved. I ended with a 68
The course is certainly challenging, but with enough work I got an A. Make sure to go over her old exams (her actual exams are very similar) and to go over the reviews she posts and you will easily pass. She does grade homework tough, so work on Wileyplus online HW to balance out her offline assignments. Go to her office hours if you have questions
This teacher is great. I really recommend her. she is very clear and gives like five example for everything we do. you have to study and the tests are hard, but if you review past quizzes and the review she sends you are going to do just fine
Went to every class early, and tried to learn the material, but the simple fact is, she as a teacher fails her students. Her tests are difficult and she grades harshly, even if you understand the concept, basically i went to every class, and did every homework with a grade of A, but got a low grade on each test. Do not take her.
She has an accent but it isn't too bad. This class is very hard and requires a lot of studying. She is extremely picky with the work but if you just do what she says to do on the tests you'll be ok. There probably isn't an better Trig teacher at FIU but she certainly isn't an amazing one. Basically the best of the worst simply because she cares.
Makes it hard to ask questions, the tests and homework are graded harshly.
She simply is really a great teacher. You have 3 test and 1 cummulative final that replaces one of your lowest test grade. Quizzes a lot but REALLY easy and so helpful. I liked the way she teaches and she prepares you VERY well for the exams. No suprises, straight forward. Take her :)
She's a good teacher. There are 4 tests, with the last being the final which can replace your lowest grade. There are a lot of quizzes, so just try to get to class because they help more than hurt. She's helpful. If you try in her class, she'll make the effort to help you. I'd recommend taking her class.
she was kind of clear with teachin gand her mild accent did not bother me at all. TOO HARSH on grading. There was nothing I could do to pass, had to drop the class. DO NOT TAKE.
Very picky grader! Tests were hard, accent wasn't too bad, notes were just examples barely teaching how to do. Had to drop! :(
Great class, but you have to do the homework. She takes attendance every class and the homework and tests are graded harshlly. However, it in the interest of the student to learn to do the steps correctly. Exams are not the easiest and they cover a lot of material but study guide provided. Ask for help when needed and study with other students.
She simply grades way too harshly. I honestly studied like crazy but there was nothing I could do to even get a C. I had to drop the course, AVOID.
Just to get this clear; this teacher is extremely picky when it comes to grading test. She has no sympathy for curving test grades. She's a good teacher, I can honestly say that. However, her grading is way too harsh. This is coming from a student who studied night and day for this course.
Great professor. Class is not easy but she is really helpful and clear. Fair professor.
Although she can teach very well and clearly, her exams are ridiculous. If you don't show your answers THE EXACT way she tells you to, A LOT of points off. It's challenging to find time to study with her review b/c you'll be busy trying to finish the HW and quizzes she assigns. Would only recommend if you REALLY have a lot of time on your hands.
I had to drop. She is a good teacher but it made it impossible for me to pass her test are hard and terrible grader
Great professor. Her tests are hard but if you go to class and do homework you will be fine. She prepared you for the tests, so they are not impossible. Very clear and helpful.
To give you an idea... only 16 out of my class of 38 students did not drop. you probably will not get an A. if you do it was the hardest thing you ever did. will teach a "simple" example of a problem during class, but during the tests she will handout questions that the hardest problems in the textbook wont prepare you for.
Terrible professor; AVOID! By far the toughest grader. Had to drop the course, took it again with a different professor and earned an A!
Super tough grader
I have taken her for more then 4 semesters now and wish I could continue. Yes, she is a tough grader, but if you practice the material AND write your homework the way she writes her examples, you will pass the test. Put in your effort and you'll see the tests are actually easy. Gives sample test and reviews. Replaces lowest test with final.
I have have taken this professor all the way from trigonometry to Caluclus 2, wishing she would teach Calc 3 and Diff Eq. Very clear professor, straight to the point. Lectures are extremely helpful and useful. She gives formula quizzes which are easy As and help you to memorize the formulas. Exams are very challenging, she expects above and beyond.
She grades too harshly and gives terrible feedback. Even if you get the answer right, she still takes off 50% of the points because you didn't do it exactly how she would have. AVOID THIS PROFESSOR!
Do not take, test and hw are really hard. You can get the answer right but miss a couple of steps and she will give you no credit. Hardest class of my life, if you want to maintain your gpa do not take.
I probably was one of the students that did well in her class, but based on all the red on my exams you would've thought I failed. Super picky when it comes to grading. Still, I enjoyed her learning style and she provided us with a TON of additional resources. Study her old exams and worked-out problems and you will be fine!
Where do I begin, just simply do not take. Class is hard and almost impossible to pass even if you do the test, hw, and etc... you are really running a risk by taking her as a professor
She is a very tough grader but she gives you examples of everything you have to do in order to get full credit on your answers and she replies to messages fairly quickly. The offline assignments homework assignments are similar to what is on the tests so I would definitely study those. Also reading the textbook was very helpful.
To be fair, she does know the material and teaches well enough for one to understand it somewhat. However, she assigns copious homework which doesn't even help to clarify the lessons and is an extremely strict grader when it comes to the steps that lead you to the answer. Avoid her unless as a last resort-especially if math isn't your strong suit!
She is very good teacher and she definitely knows the material. The only problem is that she is a very strict grader and sometimes even if you get the answer right, she takes off points because you either didn't do it the way she taught you to or you skipped a step. She gives a lot of quizzes (most are formula quizzes and they're easy) and homework
She knows the material she's explaining very well and she teaches it pretty well. Other than that the problem is she is very strict on her grading and everything needs to be in exact detail. Once she goes over something she doesnt go back to review it much. There are a lot of concepts to learn and not enough time. A lot of homework needs to be done
She knows the material and teaches it very well. She is a strict grader and she wants it everything in exact detail. She gives out a lot of grades. Her test are out of 110 pts. She gives extra credit and a lot of quizzes. Your final replaces the lowest test score(there are 4 tests) if it is to your advantage. She drops the lowest 2 quizzes.
Great Professor. She is a little strict but overall she knows the material and teaches it very well. She is very generous when it comes to grading. (she doesn't seem like it though). I will take her again.
She explains the material really well. . I recommend taking notes of everything she writes on the board. Her tests are hard, but if you study the material then you should do well. She also is very picky with the way answers should be written on the test (can take points off from exam), I really recommend going to LA sessions and her office hours.
She really knows her material, her tests are not hard, they are fair. She honestly makes you work for your grade, and is always willing to help you, shes a sweetheart even if it may not seem like it. go to office hours! her tests are always out of 110 points, no mandatory hw, drops 2 quizzes, gives lots of formula quizzes that help your grade!
DO NOT take online.. Idk if its different going to a class face to face but if you need to take it online CHOOSE SOMEONE ELSE! Her grading is ridiculous! Point deducted sometimes because she didn't like the size of a point on a graph -.- Take it from some1 who does study everyday and dedicates atleast 5 hours a day to review, DO NOT TAKE!!
There is a lot of homework to complete and it only counts for 10% of your grade. Most of your grade comes from exams that are about 6-9 chapters each. She is very picky and honestly, you get used to doing the homework questions and questions in notes and on the test it's something entirely new. It's not hard, but you have to know your stuff.
She explains the material really well! However, her tests are hard, like she has me doing non stop problems before an exam to practice my math. She also is very picky with the way answers should be written on the test (takes points off for anything that isnt written her way), I really recommend putting in at least 6 hrs a week for this class
She is a really great professor. She is really helpful if you reach out to her. I took her online and it was challenging but she gives you all the resources to pass. Make sure to look over her videos and go to her virtual hours if you need help. Your final replaces your lowest test score and she drops your lowest quiz,hw, offline hw at the end.
lots of hw and quizzes due weekly, whatsapp group are what saved me. Her videos are ok. She does give you reviews but they really arent similar to the test. FInal is departmental so that helped out. Picky over how you work out qt but overall fair. Drops lowest offline hw, mathlab hw and quiz. Replaces lowest TEST grade with final if beneficial.
I have no job or obligations of any kind and this class still took up all my time between notes and homework. Tests are fair but she is picky and will take off for using shortcuts. Even if you use Mathway for homework, it will still somehow take 3+ hours. Notes are understandable but homework is completely different and she assigns 60+ problems.
If you need to take calculus and learn not just pass take it with her
She is probably the best Calc teacher you'll ever have. Get to know her, I recommend it. I'm going to miss her. I went to her office hours constantly, and she cares about her students who care about the class. She is SO funny in class! She was ALWAYS willing to help me. The test are worth a lot so study in advance. Work hard! Amazing teacher :)!
One of the best professors here at FIU. Notes are all in a hand-out format which she goes over in-depth in her lectures and assigns easy quizzes at the end of each week. Her grading is very lenient! Tests/quizzes are in-depth but extra points are given. Calc 2 is VERY difficult however and you will spend 20+ hours/wk doing hw if you want to pass.
I advise not to take this class with her unless they are either a math major or have absolutely no other obligations during the semester, including other classes. This class took up a huge part of my time and I took no other classes during the semester, I can't imagine anyone being able to pass if they have other classes, a job, or a family.
She is an amazing professor. She can be very strict and a bit "mean" at times but only if you give her a reason. Get on her good side from the start and she will help you with anything you need. The course is HARD but she makes it slightly less tedious with her amazing lectures. Do yourself a favor and take her!!
Amazing professor. The best. Always helps students
A very solid teacher who gives points for work rather than results. She is helpful and assigns a lot of optional practice book work. Despite her helpfulness and lectures, Calc 2 itself is still extremely hard and will require a lot of study and practice.
She facilitates learning with worksheets
No calculator for exams, all written exams, and on top of that, the exams from last year were MUCH easier than the ones from this year. Its like if she makes it harder on purpose. No review given for the final which is cumulative, a little bit ridiculous and unhelpful if you ask me. Finally, too much homework. Especially, the week of a final!!
She is awful. She is possibly the worst professors Ive ever had at FIU and I've had some terrible chem profs. She wont help you if she thinks you wont pass the class. She walks around the room and avoids the people really struggling in the class. The homework is not very helpful sometimes unrelated to the topic being discussed in class. Avoid her!
She is sooooo tough, unless you answer the question on the exam exactly like her you get pts taken off. She gives a ton of HW and they only worth 5% of your grade. Does not curve even if the whole class is failing. DO NOT TAKE THIS LADY unless you have been learning math since birth.
The class is overwhelmingly difficult even for those who are good at math. This professor cant take criticism and is not helpful at all. When asked for help on a worksheet problem, I got a politician style answer that didn't help me at all. This class is way too heavy on exams. I managed to drop the class without consequence. Avoid at all cost!
She is very rude . If you ask her a question, she responds with another question. Will not admit she made a mistake at any cost. When grading, even if I get the answer right and show my work, she will take points off if it's not the way she would have done it. Inversely, if you use her method but get it wrong, doesn't give even partial credit.
Anna is not a hard professor is just that calculus is hard however she likes you to explain things clearly and proof things. She does give extra credit for each exam and multiple learning environment which makes math more enjoyable. Her first exam is you getting used to her from there on is an easy A. DO NOT FORGET TO DO HER HW.
This is the best mathematics professor I've ever had. Her in-class worksheets are great and help prepare for the homework. The txtbk homework is all anyone needs to pass exams though not graded (seriously!). People complain because she makes you work hard. She has online step-by-step guides on blackboard for problems and makes new ones if asked!
She explains calculus very well and makes the material easy to understand but at times will blow through tough/new material. She doesn't like to be asked questions and is usually pretty rude. She is a very tough grader and only wants things to be done exactly her way. But if you do that and study hard you can make a good grade.
This professor does give you extra credit but it is little. The main problem is how she grades the homework which is 20% of the grade. If you make one little mistake or don't do it EXACTLY her way then you'll get at least 1/2 points off, HW hurts you more than it helps. Tests are tough but not impossible, study like each test is your final exam.
Extremely theoretical in her presentation of the material, I found it extremely difficult to understand the material. Had to learn calculus by myself through youtube. There are 5 tests which make up 80% of your grade, so you must do well on all the tests.
She is such a sweet person, but as a professor... Its her way or n F. No partial credit ever! I had multiple questions that I answered correctly but since I used a different method (learned from youtube and old prof.'s) I received NO CREDIT for them SUPER TEST HEAVY, Most (80%) of the class failed. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! BTW She the department head..
She teaches by displaying worksheets on a screen, and briefly explains the concepts by working out exercises. Sometimes, it doesn't help for learning complex topics. She's a bit harsh when asking for help. In-class group work can be helpful, but you're on your own for learning. She also gives LOTS of hw.
She's good. She gives us a lot of resources to pass the exams, like videos about certain exercises and worksheets. The class has a lot of homework(mylabsplus), and the tests are graded very though but she gives a lot of extra credit on each one so you'll be fine.
It's a tough course, but she teaches those who want to learn. She cares, and would help you out of class. The online homework was awful and almost cost me my A, but I think she said she will discontinue using MyLabs, so lucky you.
Best math teacher I've ever had. When she grades your work, she explains WHY you got the question wrong so that you can fix it next time. She gives lots of examples, and honestly the amount of homework was what helped me understand the concepts better. She's tough, but so is math.
She is a nice person out of class but in class she is terrible. She doesn't teach at all. She gives one example, and then put you in groups do work together but doesn't go over it so you have no idea if you did it correct or not. She uses worksheet but you need mylabs plus. Crazy amounts of HW, and not lot of time to do it. Doesnt answer questions
This is hands down the best professor I've had in years. She honestly creates an environment where you have to work to fail rather than work to succeed. unfortunately she left us due to an injury after spring break so my grade wont reflect her style. If you choose anyone else over her and actually want to learn than your a fool.
Literally the worst professor ive ever had. She did not give me any credit on a test because I did not do it her way despite getting the answers correct. She is a very abrasive person in general and she does not even teach. Class is mainly based off group work and studying alone. When asked a question she responds with another question. DONT TAKE
This is my last year in college. Throughout all of my years, I have NEVER disliked a professor as much I despise this one. Shes so rude and if you dont do the work the way she taught it in class you DO NOT get ANY credit. Both on Hw and exams. Dont take this class.
If you do not do the work her way, you do not get any credit. The class was so long and drawn out, especially with it being online because of COVID. It was hard to keep up with her because shes very fast. She also isnt the friendliest person youll me. We had LAs, but they werent very helpful. Avoid taking her if you can.
This professor uses a group strategy that is harsh online, but is quite good in person. The homework is an annoying but doable online program and if you ever need help for the upcoming exam, the LA's and professor can help you. People say she's harsh, but just show respect and she shows respect. Also don't cheat on hw or cw.
I am very mixed when it comes to this professor. She is very caring and knows a lot about her subject. Do not take this class if you can not work in groups as this is a large part of the class. She is harsh at the beginning of the semester, but stick through and she rewards you with easier tests and more extra credit opportunities.
The bad reviews are simply from students who do not put time and effort into Calc 2. Calc 2 is not an easy subject and she explains things clearly and thoroughly. She has office hours where she gladly will help you. Don't expect to get an A when you do not put time and effort into this subject. If you want to actually learn, take her.
Professor Wlodarczyk is by far my favorite professor. I took Calc I for Engineering and loved the class. Assignments in class were done in groups which encouraged branching out. Homework and pre-class assignments are online and one can easily take them multiple times until reaching 100%. Nitpicky but great at teaching + amazing lecture notes.
EXCELLENT calc teacher! Really made me enjoy & feel confident with calc. Reinforces topics all the time & teaches you how to organize each problem into steps. Prof & LAs are available during the in-class assignments to ask questions. Looks at every paper and gives detailed feedback as to where you went wrong. Easily the best math teacher I've had.
Professor writes the lectures on board for great note-taking (theory+practice problems). Has zooms and reviews before each test/final. Drops lowest test and gives extra credit opportunities. Has pre-class slides too. Weekly quizzes reinforce concepts. *Tests are graded on work, not answers, so FOLLOW ALL HER STEPS*. Would take for any math class.
If i could give a 0 rating i would, honestly the worst professor i've ever had in my entire life and recommend no one to even think about taking this class. She grades based on her work and regardless if your answer is correct and all your procedures are right she will mark the question if it does'nt match her work to the specific equal sign.
This is the type of class where the amount of effort you put in reflects your grades. She does give a lot of work however it is manageable and is very helpful when preparing for the exams. She offers a lot of extra for exams in the form of review sheets and extra points on the exam itself. If you put in the time and effort you'll pass the class.
Be sure your work is perfect because she'll take points away for the tiniest mistakes. If you do the homeworks, attend class, and prepare for exams correctly, you'll succeed.
Her lectures are pretty good and the notes she provided always correlated to the homework and tests. She is a very tough grader, but gives a lot of partial and extra credit. The extra credit always had the ability to bump up your grade by two letters, however full credit was not easy as she is a tough grader.
Professor Wlodarczyk has a unique teaching style that takes some adjustment, but if you put in the effort, you can succeed. The homework and group work are challenging, but using Unstuck AI and engaging in study sessions can really help. Overall, a rewarding class if you're willing to put in the work.
shes funny, i like her.she gives so much homework its hard to manage. her grading is insanely tough. she has EC but if its out of 10, the chances of you getting even above an 8 are slim to none. her lectures are not horrible, but they could be better. tests in person and a lot of on-paper assignments. quizzes every week, formula quizzes every class
TOUGHEST GRADER EVER. Very big warning: one little mistake and your question might as well be marked wrong and you have to so it exactly like how she does it on the lectures or else say bye to your precious points on hw/ quizzes/ exams. Overall not horrible in explaining lectures. Class will take a lot of time and effort. Be ready
Im writting this in 2025, do not trust other people "good" reviews because this class will take about 6-8h of doing HW, Quizzez, and studying by your own but most of that time will be studying unless youre Engineering or Math Major AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! and even if you are math major dont bother to take there's better professors can teach easier.
Very difficult class. Tough grader.
Toughest grader in my life. Takes out points for the simplest errors.
Don't take her unless it's the only class available. Her tests are graded harshly; she only accepts her method of problem solving, it's either her way or no credit. When doing classwork, and you ask a question, she will just say to look at the notes and not answer the question, and usually says demeaning comments when asking for clarification.
Honestly the rating would have been higher as I took her for Calc 1 and had no issues, however before the third test she crashed out and stopped teaching lectures. Learning fell hard. Insanely harder grader on top of that.
She knows what she's talking about and explains it well if you pay attention however she will take points off of your hard work to “motivate” you to improve your handwriting. Extremely tough grader requires everything to be perfect and will take off many points even if it's right, she expresses care but her actions state otherwise
This class cooked us DAILY. Quizzes every day, 10am due times, zero breathing room, HARSH GRADER. Dont care if you have right answers, you still get bad grades. Comments like “when will you learn?” were insane. Tutors were lost, even the LA was clueless. Everyone flopped. Literal academic hell. Avoid at all cost. THERE ARE BETTER TEACHERS AT FIU.
TERRIBLE. Do not take her, your answer is right? Doesn't matter; she took points off anyway. Rude when you ask questions, quizzes every day, LA was great though, shoutout Gabriel, but Anna, you did terrible things to my brain. 10am due times and two homework assignments everyday, learned something hard today? Well be ready to quiz on it tmr
Horrible experience! I've never been through this with any of my professors before!! She insists on everything being done her way, with little room for student input, flexibility, or support! The TA was the only support system actually trying to help us understand and wanting us to succeed.
Hands down the best professor I've ever had, she made everything genuinely interesting. She truly cares and goes above and beyond to help. If you put in the work, you'll succeed. But if you don't, you will fail. Expect to spend 4+ hours a day, this class is tough, but her teaching makes it worth it. Don't take if you cannot dedicate time/don't care
Prof may initially come off as calloused but she's actually just sarcastic and more than willing to help with questions Class is active learning style and very effective IF YOU PARTICIPATE. Her exams are very similar to the quizzes, inclass work, and lecture examples she gave us. COMING TO CLASS EVERYDAY IS VITAL FOR SUCCESS
