i had her for 3 semesters up to chem 122, she is really easy, in lab tho she is really helpful. Id recommend taking her, but do NOT GET DR. ANTHONY BRAUNER, he is like the worst teacher ever, i think sometimes he teaches all the labs though.
nice teacher very easy and helpful
It's obvious that she actually enjoys teaching Chemistry. She occassionally drifts off topic during lecture, but is usually clear and concise. Her exams can be rather challenging, but you'll do fine as long as you can demonstrate moderate intelligence and a general understanding of the material. Tough in lab - but she curves lecture grades.
known to be attention seeking to the males. almost all males pass her class. sometimes difficult to understand her pronounciations. overall; a very thorough teacher. difficult tests, but indepth teaching. she loves her work.
Chem 110 - Lab....She's easier than other lab professors.
She does not speak english well! Her notes/textbook does not correspond w/ exams. GL
Great teacher. Her explanations are clear and she makes a boring subject actually sound interesting with cool examples. She curves the grade. Very personable, and helpful. Her exams can be challenging but she gives clues in lecture ahead of time. In lab she requires a full report with written parts.
Study hard, show your interest and you will get an A.Great professor overall.
The class is hard by itself,so she doesn't ,make it easier. Tests are hard and not easy to understand!Don't suggest to take her class if you are a girl, she likes only guys and its obvious! She is confused when she explains something and it makes even worse when you try to understand it.Jumps from one point to another.Expects too much from you!!!
Very nice prof! Very thorogh in lecture. Tests are hard if you don't understand the stuff, you can't study for her tests just by memorizing. I recommend her if you don't expect an easy grade.
This is profeesor is ok , I am taking her class chem122 now So if anyboddy can do me favor , give her 4 test. thank's in advance
I don't like her!! SHe's a nice lady, but she can't teach to save her life. Everythign she did in class was hardly in the test. She gets her questions out some random book!! Drop her if you want to pass!!
Very nice teacher, pretty too! She literaly gives the questions on the test away during review, you have to be clueless not to notice. She also puts questions from earlier quizes on the test. I was done with every test in 20 minutes and got all A's. Take her if you take good notes and you are willing to study.
She is the WORST chem teacher ever!!! Everytime I go to her for help she makes me feel even more like an idiot. Her english isn't very clear. Very hard to understand her. Her tests have nothing to do with what she teaches in class. She even said so herself. She gets them from other textbooks and expects you to know the answer. HORRIBLE!!!
My favorite teacher i had in my college. She is very helpful. You must get an A if u study the notes and work out the problems she did in the class. Her tests are easy if u familarise yourself with the problems did in the class. She has very thorough knowledge about the material.
Good teacher but she gives very hard tests. For me was OK until the end. The last exam was very, very hard. I miss the A, unfortunalty at the end. At the last exam the word problems was very hard. I think that at the end of the class was just few A, not too many. She is a good teacher but not the best one. In other class I could take an A...
Do not take her. She is the worst teacher that I ever have.
She is a very nice professor. She seems to love teaching, but she teaches like you already know the material.
Test are very hard but they relate to the material. Very hard to understand at times. She tries to be hepful but she thinks you know the material as well as she does.
she doesn't explain solutions clearly and rushes through the chapters and give like 5-7chapter tests and will hardly ever review. also begun to teach new material before you take the test
She is really thorough and fun. If you don't like to study, don't take her. She is pretty clear on what's gonna be on the test and gives examples of the multiple choice questions in review.
I would recommend this teacher with all confidence. Ask all the questions you want, and do every lab. write thorough lab reports and you got your A.
Attendance is mandatory. The test mult. choice even if you were failing her test she gave some people "C" & she curves your grade she gave me "A" overall she is a great teacher extremely helpful!!!!
She is very fair. Study, don't slack in this class.
Ugh, shes hard, she lectures one day and expects the material to be memeorized the next, how can i pass on tests if i dont know the conversions?
omg ! the hardest class by far i had to take. the teacher expected us to be a chemist like her. very hard and she is very un willing to help. i do not recommend at all.
She rushed through everything, which left me wanting to ask many questions, but everytime you attempted to ask questions, she would stop you and say she must move on. Not very helpful, and makes you feel incompetent that you even bothered her with such a thing. Only give like 8 questions on quizzes and exams,so if you get two wrong you are doomed.
It looks like some of these students took a different Prof Felup. She was very detailed. She asked over and over if there are questions. Some people in class slowed things down. They didn't get basic arithmetics. I am from another school, i dont know what they teach in math at CCP, but some of those questions were painful to hear.
I think the other people who rated poorly just did not study or did not attend class regularly. She is a great teacher. In Summer session it's only 7 weeks so you have to cover a lot of material in a short period of time. She tells you exactly what will be on tests and gives quizzes to help your grade. If you study & attend class, you'll be fine.
Best professor "EVER", don't take attendance, she gives quizes & test. Some people were getting low test in the teen's #'s she gave them C's. 7 I got easy "A".
Was a B student got an F in this class and had to drop it. She moved to fast for me and wasn't great on explaing how she went from point A to point B.
chemistry in general is a hard topic to get interested in & even harder to understand it if you know nothing about it. This isn't the kind of class you can go home memorize notes & think you'll be okay. There's no way of getting around it you have to understand. She can be all over sometimes, but she is by far one of the best chem teachers at ccp.
VERY HOTTT.she is very helpful and clear on her lecture. she drops one low grade exam, which helps a lot. she also gives review before exams. i would recommend to take her.
Administered math exam 1st session & stated students should drop if they don't do well on it. Never has time for ques outside of classes. Very harried. DOES NOT CARE ABOUT TEACHING, so students must be self-starters. Take another prof., but if you're stuck w/her...get in a study group. She will not be a help to you.
Im an "A" student, with "A's" in advanced science classes MUCH HARDER then this. It was like "survivor" class started with only 15 students and ended up with 8 at the final. I know at least 3 of the students taking the final were FAILING the course! SHE CAN NOT TEACH! She is smart,a doctor, and a nice person, but CLUELESS about the art of "teaching"
This teacher is very hard & if she think you don't care about chem & your not one of the smart kids in her class she don't help you! She don't have any office hrs. or time to talk to you after class, she is very rude & if you ask her a question she will be loud & very rude to you. She love to teach the students that already know chem. She teach lik
Miss Annamaria asks a lot of her students. She requires nothing less than proficiency. She focuses far more on one's ability to apply concepts taught than rote memorization or general theory. Plan on being awake an on-time to each class. Plan to read ahead and work on the problems in the book before class. If you do these things, you will excel.
Like previous comments stated, she only seems interested in teaching students with previous knowledge of what she is teaching an intro class for,if you have a question or ask her to show a second example of something during lecture, she is comfortable saying no. Expect to type every lab report, teach yourself by the book and leave hating chemisty
Math heavy course.Tests are mostly math word problems, good to take right after Math 118. questions are from examples she did on the board.tests are from quizzes.Drops the lowest test and quiz. Beautifully made lab reports can save your grade.DON'T TAKE HER IN SUMMER! NERC Learning lab excells in CHEM tutoring..even her "A" students needed it.
She knows her chemistry but isnt the best in relaying to her students. She's a nice person but not the best teacher. She doesnt lot to answer too many questions, unless a blabbing student is going off on some distant tangent. Which has nothing to do with what we're studying. I received more help from Anna Seixas( tutor in Science lab)
If you want to remain with a good GPA do not take her class she sucks!!!! She can not teach what she is getting paid for. Its sad...but its a community college. This is what we pay for.
She is really hard, most of my class were 2 timers and out of 29 students 9 were left at the final. If you would like things explained in a manner that in not chemistry related she is not the professor for you. She expects everyone to already know the material I will most likely have to take the class over.
She is a very nice woman but in my opinion not the best teacher. I had a 3.6 until i took her class. I tried tutoring and going to her office. I have all A's and B's until i took her class. If you want to maintain a good GPA I wouldn't recommend taking her.
I think she taught well. It was a lot of math, so as long as you know the equations you should be pretty fine. I didnt buy the text for this class, just used the one in the library when i felt i needed to study.
I don't know why she got mixed reviews. I thought she was a good teacher. I learned alot. The course is Math heavy but she does go over the material. Good personality and very funny. I liked her class and would take her again.
Very good teacher. Clear and funny and helpful.
I don't know what people are talking about. This is my second class with Dr. Fulep, and I think she's great. She's very reasonable in her grading, always available for help, and her teaching style is clear and easy to follow. I'd highly recommend her.
Great teacher... Highly recommended
She's good in chem 121-122 also. This class takes a lot of studying and reading the book and doing homework though, and the labs are tedious. Maybe they will have a different professor since last year though sooner or later.
She is one of the worst teacher i ever have at CCP. She doesn't turn back your report on time so that you correct your mistakes before doing the next report. She is not clear in explaining error. Advice, DO NOT TAKE HER. Thank you
Dr. Fulep is terrific - she clearly enjoys teaching and is good at it. She's very reasonable and seems to want her students to succeed (if you do badly on a quiz, she'll just drop the grade). She answers questions and is available for help.
Great Teacher! CCP needs more like her. Very fair grading system, loves what she does, is very helpful, Im taking her again 122, i learned so much without all the guessing games She got right to the point! She wants you to do good and she respects her students & in return they respect her. This teacher sets the bar high. Should be at a University!
Good teacher. Take her you will learn a lot.
Great teacher I am attending her class now and ecitied to attend her chem 121 class. She is easy and fair, and you can tell she really wants you to learn and take something from the class. AMAZING.
Dr. Fulep is a fantastic teacher. She explains and derives every formula (when applicable) to show you how it came about, not just tell you to memorize it without explanation. She's an excellent teacher!
SHE DIDN'T EXPLAIN CLEARLY. REPLY MT EMAIL VERY LATE. SHE IS NOT NICE. MOST THINGS THAT SHE TAUGHT I COULN'T UNDERSTAND.
110 students need to understand that basic math is needed for this course. She is jumping thru hoops to make people get concepts. Some people will still just complain. Don't listen to them. Take her for 110, you'll be happy you did.
don't know how she is as a lecturer but she's a terrible lab instructor. does a quick demo then spends the rest of the lab period on her laptop. doesn't explain anything, doesn't provide guidance, refers everyone to her syllabus that is almost as unhelpful as she is, condescends to students & tries to embarrass them. avoid at all costs.
Very hard material to begin with, she doesn't explain things in depth. Tests are only 18 questions so if you get a few wrong you won't get a good grade. She does drop the lowest test. Overall I would not recommend her unless you are willing to put in a lot of study time.
Excellent prof. Clear explanations, real life connections to material. Very much encourages questions, office hour visits. Take both 121 and 122 with her.
I am taking her for the summer session. I was really afraid of this course but she really eliminated my fear. Her explanations are clear and her expectations are reasonable. Very readily available for questions. Nice person.
Dr. Fulep is one of the best professors I've ever had. She is tough but fair and is more interested in her having her students comprehend the material rather than handing out high grades. She explains things in great detail and makes herself available outside of class to help students who are struggling. Not recommended for lazy students.
Best Chemistry Professor, She explained exceptionally well. The exams are very hard. She is a very nice person and very fair. I recommend anyone take her class. I also recommend you do all the problems after each section you read and end of the chapter problems.
great teacher very helpful when needed, quick to let you know what you need to do not in a bad way, but recommend going to the learning lab as well. took her class in summer and learned a ton.
She is an okay teacher. She does not explain anything in depth. You will be better off reading before you get to class and then focus on other work during her class just to utilize your time well. She gives quizzes which is the only reason why class is mandatory, otherwise be prepared for boredom. I would not take her for lecture or lab.
She can easily get distracted from the topic and talk about something else. She does not explain thigns to good. Probably one of her questions from her quizzes are on the exams. You are better off studying by yourself and getting a tutor. Just attend class for the attendance grades.
She is the best for 121-122. If you are bored in her class like someone before me claimed, you are brain-dead. She is funny, she tells chemistry jokes, everything she says makes sense. If you have no idea what she talks about because you are unprepared for the class, yes, you will be bored because it will all go over your head.
Great teacher. Explains material well. Has real knowledge of the subject, not just reading off the slide show or a book. Very helpful. You can always stop by her office during her office hours and she will gladly help out.
Do not take her for CHEM 121. The material she explains in class is barely on the test. Her class is so boring. Do not waste your time in this class
I don't know what some people are talking about. Her exams are coming directly from lecture problems. She explains everything clearly. And you will even get fashion ideas along the way. She always looks so pretty
Makes Chem MUCH harder. Other profs write detailed outlines & give take-homes. She skims concepts, then solves random problems for days. Throws curveballs on exams. Says mean things ("SOME of you will be able to do this"). Wastes time scolding us for not remembering algebra & comparing our class to her daughter's at Columbia U. Elitist.
terrible teacher, her test has nohing to do with the lecture. she dont care about you and is very very lazy.no h.w no worksheets or anything. quizzes timed for 15 minutes with 6 problems. no one but really no one do well in her class, tests are a guessing game and she trick you to fail. avoid in all cost if you care about your GPA.
If you see a good review for this teacher, she probably wrote it herself. She went over some of the comments on here in class- which took up class time. But, even if she's not talking about her daughter or how the work is "common sense". She's a waste of time. Pass on this on.
very nice professor. gives her 100%. tests and quizzes come straight from her lecture and textbook. chemistry involves a lot of math and it's not her fault that some people can't do simple calculations, improve your math skills before taking a class and you'll enjoy it. people who complain simply didn't open the book or pay attention in class.
Read the book. Study her noes. Go to the learning lab. Do the problems in the back of the book. I was cocky and hurt my grade. But she is a wonderful teacher and I would definitely take her for higher Chemistry courses.
She is an average professor. Summer courses go by so fast and grading the amount she had to may have taken a toll on some aspects of class. Does many problems in class, at some points it felt like a math class, but we rarely strayed away from the subject. Labs were lightly guided by her, so have your chem notebook be thorough.
This professor is very kind. I does not want to see students struggle, which show how much she cares, but she is continually making errors in her math during class. Her exams are difficult, and she is "mathematically" overwhelming. It definitely felt like a math class as opposed to a science class. She also like to go off on a tangent.
Terrible lectures that have nothing to do with the tests and she is sooo bad at math it's actually comical.
Great teacher. Cares about students and wants everyone to do well. Took her in summer, so it went fast, but she gave good, timely feedback. One of the better lab profs. It's a math-based science class, so don't complain about doing calculations... Tests are nothing new if you pay attention and do problems from book. People tend to whine at CCP...
Professor Fulep was a brilliant teacher. She will go over ANY and AS MANY problems from the back of the book for you. Come prepared to class with questions and raise your hand if something is not making sense, she will help. Quizzes so you know where you're at with the material. 3 tests + 1 final(40% of grade). You can get an A, work hard.
It is hard to get A in her lab class . Her teaching method is totally different from another chemistry professors. You have to read the book at home. She will quizzes you before you do the lab. Of course , students rarely get good grade in quiz because you're not touch in lecture as well as in lab before . Quiz will calculate in your points , and
Fulep expects the student to be prepared each class by having read all the material that will be covered the day of class. It's very hard to do so when it's hard to understand the material. In summary, I had a very difficult time following her in lecture and when I asked for help, her response was, "read the book." Take that how you will.
The teacher talks like a robot. She is hard to follow because she repeats herself too much. You have to know when she will give a quiz or test. In the beginning, we had a test everyday. smh
She has an accent but she is comprehensible. When a student needs help she may help you but at the end of the day its up to you to be sure everything is correct in your lab reports to get a good grade. Also know your math. I would not take her because she expects a lot from lab reports
Professor Fulep was unprepared for classes and skipped through topics. Her lectures has no structure and she is confusing to follow. She does not give students a chance to understand the course materials she simply works out examples on the board and moves on quickly. To pass this class be committed to study and understand topics on your own.
Would not take her if i were you. You will be upset. Does not give great extra help. You can pass, but go to tutoring. She wont give you great lectures to study from. Hard material, yes, but what do we have teachers for? To teach. Wont get that type of help. She toots her own horn, if you know what i mean. Again, last teacher i would take! Gd luck
Copy the procedures in your hard cover composition lab book before class. Do the lab, but don't expect any real direction from her on how to complete. Provides some insight, but does not help with understanding. Write up your lab per format & make sure you include a discussion that explains what you were testing for & that your math is right.
Didnt understand where i stood grade wise until the last day. But i guess as long as you write in your copy book and do your lab report with the right math than you should get at least a B. But overall she wasnt very helpful and i really would look somewhere else.
Look, she is nice I get it but that doesn't mean she can teach. Very poor at explaining things. Doesn't follow anything she teaches from her head, talk and talk like you are a chemist and examples she provides are almost never on tests. Tests are always difficult, at the end of the course we had 5 students left in the classroom. Totally unfair!
She was okay, she wasn't too helpful, but she did give us a lot of questions for practice online, which was helpful for some, and not for a lot... i still suggest not to take her!! not very helpful, put all of the grades at the end of the semester, you don't really know where you are standing untill the last day of semester!!
One of the WORST professor I've ever had at CCP. She barely helps students when they need help. She doesn't explain anything well. Doesn't give the students enough assignment to even pass the class. Never tells you were you stand grade wise until the end, she specify told me " you will not know you're grades until the end." WHAAAAT !
she's lit
Started w/ a full classroom, before the term ended majority of the class withdrew. The professor puts things on the board and expects you to understand without explaining things, so prepare to teach yourself everything. Realized that the class wasn't doing well didn't offer help. Had to get corrected for problems on the board she always did wrong!
I struggle a lot with her class. She makes effort in class, but quite frankly, she's not your go to person if you are having trouble understanding the formulae. She springs surprises on one in her tests!
Not clear in explanations. Students ask questions, she focuses on proving them wrong, not trying to help you understand the info better. If you're still confused, she blames you for not trying hard enough, never considers that its her teaching style. She focused on some info too long and we fell behind, skipped chapters, she blamed us for that too.
Im taking her now for Chem 121 and honestly shes the worst professor Ive ever taken. I would never take her ever again. She rambles about everything that has nothing to do with the subjects. Shes rude. Terrible teacher. If you want to actually learn anything, dont take her.
Racist! Racist! and Racist! That all I'm going to say about this so called "Professor"
Expects students to learn without an explanation. Makes students buy the lab manual and not use it. Don't go up to her and ask for help because you'll be "rude" if you did and you'll be answered in a rude way as well. Also, do NOT complain or ask about a grade she's given you because all you'll get from her is "I wanted to give you this grade."
Her class was very confusing and had zero structure what-so-ever. I would not recommend taking her class if you really want to learn chemistry. It was like taking another math class, you will not learn chemistry in this class! On top of that, the first day of class she said to us "I'm the teacher people tell me not to take."YUP & they were right!!
She expects her students to know material after one example IF that. Explicitly discriminates students either by race or the number of questions you ask her. Is not available outside of class and does not respond to emails. Lectures are choppy and teaching is inconsistent, sometimes she'll do examples, other times she just rushes through concepts.
Great Prof.! She covered all the necessary materials in the course of 7 weeks. She also gave us more practice problems to get a grasp of each chapter. Fair and respectful! Make sure to read the book and work on the problems, its gonna be an easy A. Need help from her? Just make an appt. and show up on time. Students at CCP tend to whine a lot!
Terrible professor, hard to learn from.
Very unclear on what she expects for lab reports. She will take points off randomly for things she never asked for. Its almost like she makes it up as she goes. Lab book is not allowed in class, she requires you to copy the lab into a notebook with pen and bring that to class. If you ask any questions she will respond with an attitude.
"I'm not your secretary, so do not expect me to put up your grades". She does give you back your exam/quizzes but as a Professor it is also your job to put grades up. She can at least put up your exams. It is hard to determine your grade. You will most likely will take the final without knowing your grade. For lab she will take points off randomly.
Professor Fulep is one the best chemistry instructors. Her lecture in class covers all subjects in book. If you can note everything that she teaches in class and practice them, this course will be an easy A. I definitely take her for offering Future courses and recommend her to everyone who wants to learn chemistry.
I would not recommend taking this professor. she's extremely unprofessional and doesn't know how to explain topics. You have to be prepared to teach yourself throughout this course if you take her. she doesn't give you homework but gives you quizzes every week on a chapter that she went through very quickly. Gives you 3 tests and 1 gets dropped.
HORRIBLE TEACHER!she doesn't know how to teach and rushes through material very quickly. She's doesn't give the opportunity to actual practice and understand material. you can barely ask her questions in class because of how confusing and how fast she goes through the material.I had to work hard to get an A in this class since i had to teach myself
I absolutely loved my classes with Anna. Her #1 priority is to ensure that you actually understand what it is that you're learning. Read ahead to be prepared for her lectures and do end of chapter word problems because you may find out that your A in calculus didn't prepare you to express the nature of even basic algebra through chemical concepts
Professor Fulep-Poszmik's class is definitely challenging, but if you stay on top of the material and use helpful study tools like unstuckstudy, you can succeed. Be prepared to put in the effort, and you'll come out with a solid understanding of chemistry.
