There is no direction to this class. The assignments are dealt haphazardly, seemingly in ignorance of the assignments that have piled up behind them. The workload for this class is unreasonable and never enjoyable...and you run an ever present risk of having your work or quizes misplaced and counted for nothing.

Avoid her like the plague. She does not clearly explain assignments, nor does she have any concept of the sheer amount of work she assigns. If she deigns to answer questions about assignments, the answers are never helpful. She singles out students, and is certainly not above speaking rudely toward her chosen victims.

I loved SCAD until I experienced the horror that is Anne Bessac ... I remember she assigned 100+ tints and shades to be painted on Monday and expected them due on Wed. You think that's bad? It was during midterms. I couldn't respect her as a professor, a person, or an artist for reasons this 350 character limit won't allow.

probably one of the worst teachers i have ever had. her instructions and demos make projects less clear than if you had no instruction at all. she says "pecificly" rather than specificly all the time and its super annoying. her assignments are boring and pointless. get out of her class if you can.

This woman is horrible. End point. The specifics: not clear on any kind of directs, unreal expectations on due dates, admits to having no ability to multi-task (Give directions and answer questions at the same time). My god the worse teacher I have ever had, and I even went to a community college for a year and a half before SCAD....

WOW....every time I get out of this class I am angry all day. Bessac is useless and extremely rude and unintelligent. Stay far away FARRRR away. Waste of money and time not to mention having to buy MORE materials after every class for useless artwork...if you can call those projects art. Nothing good to say about Bessac, wish I had someone else.

In my entire life, I have never met a teacher so miserably horrible at communication. For instance, when describing abstract concepts like "Ballance", she will use ABSTRACT TERMS to explain it. Worst of all are her assignment criteria- which are told in... you got it- abstract terms. Don't even try asking for explanation- it will overwhelm her.

If only I had taken the advice of my friends at the beginning of the quarter and dropped her class I might still have some brain cells left. She is an incompetent, unintelligent, uninteresting woman who if you're lucky will have caused you several nervous breakdowns by the end of the course. She is completely unclear and refuses to answer questions

the fact that scad would keep anne bessac as a professor infuriates me...she is, by far, one of the most incompetent human beings i have ever come across...if she is an artist, which she would never prove to us by showing us her work, she has no idea how to convey that knowledge to toher people...in other words, she can't teach. Another semester passed and she is still the same way. WORST TEACHER EVER! Lost a project grade I did and got a zero for it. Cannot multi-task. She will not answer questions directly. STAY AWAY FROM HER

Getting clarification on assignments is like pulling teeth from her. she changes her criteria of assignments overnight. I did an assignment with her at an extra help session and she said it was well done but the day I turned it in she said it was unacceptable. she made it very hard to learn and I always left class confused.

This is the Design, Color Theory, and Drawing professor you need to RUN AWAY FROM. Although I managed to get a high grade from her, I dreaded going to her class and was miserable the entire time. She's extremely unclear, makes the strangest and most uncomfortable metaphors to explain assignments, and makes you buy about $400 worth of supplies.

This woman made me want to take up smoking. STAY AWAY. She's a nice lady, but cannot teach worth a whit, and her personality will wear on your nerves within the first week. Her projects and assignments are boring, she's unclear, and any question she answers just leaves you more confused. She turned 2D Design into arts and crafts for hippies.

Ok, she is somewhat nice, but I dont have any clue how she is still teaching at SCAD, she is so unclear, and she gives the most boing assignments. It's an easy class, but you will not have any foundation to move on here at SCAD.

i tried extremely hard to understand this woman. i asked questions. spoke up and voiced irritations at not understanding what she meant. none of my questions were answered. i busted my butt to bring my grade up, neglected my other classes and still got a D for the class. no one should ever have to endure this woman.

i have developed a drinking problem because of this woman. i was always so angry when i left class that i needed a beer just to calm down. DO NOT TAKE!!!!!

If u have ever seen the movie Misery (1990) written by Stephen King, the crazy woman n that movie is exactly who u will b dealing with if u have Bessec as an instructor. She is NUTS! I used 2 have a glass of wine (over 21) before class 2 deal. She wants 2 get under your skin & play games. Run away!

I have recently develeped an amphetamine addiction caused by the rediculous homework assignments bessac gave us; none of which seemed to have any purpose. So if you "pacifically" want to spend your life stressing about pointless "decails", take this class. By the way, she uses words that she doesnt know the meaning of.

Okay, I hate panning people like this, I think it's unfair, she's a very nice woman, she just needs to get her act together when it comes to being a professor. It's kind of difficult to get any in class work done, she's constantly interrupting her own lesson plans, and is always assigning useless in class excersizes. do not take.

She's the only professor I know of that gave me back my assignment to rework because the cover sheet wasn't on right. I had to completely redo something that took a whole night in just 1 and 1/2 hours because she still wanted it that day and she has zero tolerance for late work She's nice as a person, but she's horrible as a professor.

This has to be one of the worst professors I've ever experienced. I have no idea why she is teaching at SCAD because she alone ruins their reputation as a good art school. Stay away from this woman if you want to learn how to draw. She will teach you nothing except how to hate a professor!

If there is any advice I can give to students considering taking Anne Bessac, it's listen to the warnings posted here. Do not take this professor, you'll regret it, I assure you. There is a level of incompetence to drive me over my edge and she managed to do it on a daily basis. Though I received an A, I still shudder at the thought of her class.

I had her for color theory, and I almost killed myself. She's the devil. Transfer out of this class RIGHT NOW!

Hi, you're probably reading this because you got stuck in her class. Well, you should saddle up for the worst couple months of your life! Good student? Not for long. Even the best student is a horrible one here. If you wear the mark of the beast, you may become what we call "a favorite", then you'll be just fine. No matter the quality of your work!

I made a B in this class and she is the worst professor I ever had. She is very confusing when explaining what she wants in her projects. Very unorganized and even lost a couple of my projects. Her projects are tedious, boring, and not nearly as interesting as others in the building. In the end I didn't like any of mine or my classmates pieces.

Let's say you have straight A's so far this year. Suddenly, a big letter that you DONT recognize to be an 'A' magically appears on your transcript. The reason? THIS WOMAN. Her homework and projects are tedious, and get you NOWHERE. I think I knew more color theory before this class. Most stubborn person I've ever met. Don't try to defend yourself..

don't take this class if you want to learn something. aside from that, she is a stubborn professor that would hear what you say (before she interrupts) but won't listen. has favorites, but don't miss a single class-she'll use it against you. may call you out, including your grades, in front of the class. sometimes unfair with grading.

Spaced out, doesn't make tests comprehensible, like a robot when asked a Q "I understand, but" & repeats Picks favorites, lost work, damaged my work, forgets to give test dates numerical values of grades not released & takes too long to grade. says you got one grade, then gives another If you can look past this take her get a B or an A

very unorganized, scatterbrained, and most of all unhelpful. She loves to interrupt someone who has the nerve to ask her a question which she will not answer. Never sticks to due dates and much of the class will be downtown so good luck if you drive. Also very unprofessional, DO NOT TAKE HER CLASSES

Dear God, run! Completely incomprehensible in her explanations, massive amounts of work, ridiculously high expectations, picks favorites and grades on such, loses work then denies you handed it in, has no qualms about giving 0's on projects if she doesn't like them which MASSIVELY reduces grade and speaks to everyone like they are slow.

DO NOT TAKE HER! She's honestly the most horrible professor I've had and SCAD is the third college I've attended. She's horrible at explaining things, she can't take an accurate attendance to save her life and to top it off, she's horrible at teaching the material and is unclear about everything. SERIOUSLY, STAY AWAY! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE!

If you can, stay away. Scatterbrained, quite clueless, picks favorites, and VERY ABSTRACT. Good luck understanding her projects and explanations. Avoids answering a direct question. Repeats lessons over and over again, won't listen to students, and is extremely strict with unreasonable expectations. Seriously, try to avoid her if at all possible.
