She is a very "personal" professor who likes to share her life stories and her kids are her life. The tests were hard and the lectures could get boring, but she does a pretty good job and is super helpful if you ask for it. It's a hard class period. I gave up on going to lecture everyday and studying a lot and still pulled off a B.

She is quite possibly the best professor at Iowa State. She makes the class interesting and fun. Attendance is not required, but she gives extra credit quizzes sometimes for showing up. Practice tests are REALLY similar to actual tests. Do the practice tests, look over the notes, and go to class, and you will do well.

She knows her stuff. I suggest not missing class b/c what she discusses on the slides is important. Don't wait until the last minute to do your project. It's just easier to get it done asap. I recommend her for this course, though.

Amazing professor, clear on lectures and made sure we understood before going on. GO TO CLASS! She gave out xtra credit atleast 1 a week, especially when it is cold out. Tests are easy if you study, the SI sessions helped and sometimes were the same questions on the exam. Don't wait on the last minute to do project and get a good partner for it!

Awesome teacher. She gives out a hunk of extra credit. Tests are very doable. Quizes and homework are easy as well. Some of the material can be difficult, but she teaches it very very well. Also, she loves to stop once and a while and talk about her home life, which is pretty funny most of the time. Highly recommended!

Talks about her kids way too much and can speed through the material sometimes. Otherwise an alright professor.

Very helpful with me b/c I got really sick during the semester. She was very willing to help out and get me back on track. Always answered any questions quickly through email. Excellent teacher. Offers lots of extra credit (definitely do it; it's easy). Test were not too difficult. Review sessions that were offered before tests helped a lot. She is funny but sometimes gets off topic. She is very in touch with her students. Easy to get an A in class if you do the extra credit. A++ Take Acct284 with her if possible.

Awesome teacher. Makes lecture interesting, works with problems in the book, and explains exactly what is going on. Makes the material easy to understand and explains everything that will appear on the test. Not a lot of extra credit, but you don't really need it if you go to class. Some people might get stuff out of the books, others might not.

The best Accounting instuctor I have ever had at ISU! The material is tough but Prof. Clem does a great job teaching. Exams are typically easier than quizzes and homework in my opinion. Make sure you take notes and do the inclass examples. If you do that, you will be fine!

Very very very good professor. Knows your question before you ask it. Incredibly organized and could teach the class blindfolded. Knows her stuff and will help you figure it out if you don't get it. TA's were good and review sessions were offered and were very helpful.

She runs the class hard and will point out sleepers, yell at people leaving earlier, and those arriving late.

This is a great class to take if you are trying to get your CPA. She is a great professor who seems to really know the material and care about her students. There is homework due for each chapter but if you try she usually gives you full credit. There is a small current events presentation and a fairly short project. Go to class and work problems.

Professor Clem is amazing. Not everyone may be good at accounting, but with extra credit offerings, pretty much guaranteed homework points, simple quizzes, and a project that had a 94% average for us this spring, she gives you every possible tool do well. She was a delight.

This class is so easy... Take it with clem, do the online homework assingments, ace the multiple choice tests, you'll get a good grade. She is a really great professor though, and builds her relationship with the class by telling stories and making jokes. She's awesome.

Clem is great!! I Had a ton of accounting experience before taking the class so a lot of it was review. She tells the funniest stories about family/personal experiences which makes class go much faster. Lets students out early and cancels class often, too. Learned A LOT, CLEM IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PROFESSORS AT ISU!!

Awesome professor! Explains notes clearly and goes through multiple examples during class, and she always let you out early to "enjoy your day!" Tests are somewhat challenging but exactly from the notes packet. Start the project early and go to the help room and you'll have it done in a couple hours.

Clem is one of the best professors I've had at Iowa St. She can be fun, but knows how to teach. Pay attention in class and do all the homework assignments and you do fine. Dr. Clem is the best professor I've had at Iowa State. Tests aren't too hard as long as you follow along in class and do your homework. Does in-class examples that help a lot. Be sure to visit her office hours- she's super nice and genuinely cares about her students. I would definitely recommend taking 284 with Clem.

Very good professor! Good at explaining things. She seemed a little strict at first (doesn't allow computers in class) but you get used to it. Used the book a lot. There's a semester project but if you start early and keep working on it, it's not too bad! Tests taken in online testing center. We usually got out of class 15-20 minutes early! :)

Clem is a great lecturer who makes sure her students understand the material covered in class. The tests require studying and the project should not be done in one night. If you keep up with the class it is pretty easy to get a B or better.

Do the practice tests and you'll do well on the tests. Project is time consuming. She's a great lecturer and willing to help.

Dr. Clem is an outstanding professor. She makes her lectures on accounting topics very personable. She explains the topics and does in-class problems. Make sure to read the textbook too as there are weekly homework assignments & reading quizzes. There isn't much extra credit and tests are average. The semester project helps boost your grade though.

Anne is a wonderful teacher. She truly cares about students.... and Cyclone basketball. The homework is really easy and the tests are average. The group project can be finished in about 4 hours, but you probably want to split up into a couple work days.

Take this class with Clem and you can't go wrong. Make sure to go to class and take notes, she does a great job at explaining each chapter. Wouldn't have picked any other professor!

Dr. Clem was really a great professor. She makes the material understandable, and she has a lot of interesting or funny stories that relate to the class.... she's very hip. Tests were okay and taken in the online testing center, learnsmart homework and quizzes were the other part of your grade along with a group project.

Clem is an amazing professor! You can tell she is passionate about accounting, and she makes the class interesting even though it's a gigantic lecture. Her tests are straight forward and basically just like the practice ones. Homework can be a little tedious but not too bad. She also tells great stories which makes class more interesting.

Nice. Homework is extremely easy, group project is easy as well. Tests take preparation and overall aren't easy. If you screw up on one test, you might not get an A because there isn't a curve either. However it's almost impossible to get below a B. Just show up to class and do homework and you'll be fine.

I struggled with accounting but Professor Clem made it a lot more clear for me! She's a great professor and is very enthusiastic with her students. It's a tough class but with her teaching it you should be fine.

Homework is tedious, but it does help you learn the material. Lectures aren't too bad. She tries her hardest to keep the class engaged and usually lets you out 10 minutes early. Definitely suggest taking 284 with Clem.

Take Accounting 284 with Anne Clem! Show up for class, take the notes (I recommend purchasing them from CopyWorks right across from campus or printing them off each day before the lecture) Do the homework, and Study for exams using the practice exams. Definitely attend the SI sessions for help early on if you need extra help.

Anne really cares about her students. This is a tough class that requires the online textbook as it contains an access code for homework. Go to class and do the homework and you will be fine.

284 is a pretty easy class. I didn't go to lecture for 12ish weeks of the semester and still got a B+. Make sure to do the learnsmarts and homeworks and it's a piece of cake.

I want to take all of my Accounting courses through her. She's very clear about what she expects and she prepares her students for tests very well. People who complain are those jerks who spend all of lecture chatting with their friends.

She seems really nice and willing to help and made the lectures about as interesting as they could be. The tests were tough though, and weren't much like the practice exams, the homework or what we talked about in class.

I'm literally in love with Dr. Clem. Her tests are tough if you don't study, but she gives 3 extra credit opportunities throughout the semester and she is super easy to talk to. She is definitely one of my favorite professors on campus!

I'm usually not a fan of my businesses classes but Clem made this one pretty good. She's got a good delivery in lecture that's both informative and generally entertaining enough. Has a good feel for how students operate and has super realistic expectations in terms of required work.

Wonderful teacher. Breaks down just about everything she talks about. Uses interesting examples and stories, which is tough to do for a subject like accounting. Very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and caring. She has PowerPoints that she'll post online that are directly related to the test, but I strongly suggest to go to her lectures.

Dr. Clem has such a good structure set for the class! She posts her slides online right up front so you can take notes directly on them. Course project is laid out very well with step-by-step help. Homework prepares you well for exams. Explains everything VERY WELL in her lectures. Also adds fun stories and makes the time enjoyable.

Professor Clem is a great professor when it comes to lecturing. Really makes sure everyone understands the material before moving on. I wish she wouldn't tell so many personal stories during class time. We could probably finish the lecture in 30 minutes w/o the stories. If you have a question, she may email back, but it will probably be vague.

Clem was by far one of my favorite professors so far. Even though class is not necessary I would suggest going because she gives good tips on how to do things and gives you ways to help remember material for the test. There are two assignments per chapter three test and a final as well as a project.

Dr. Clem is amazing! I would talk every class of hers if my schedule allowed! She makes the lectures fun and interesting. I took this as an 8 am but she made it worth getting up for. Anne Clem is the best professor I've ever had. She gave you what you needed and told you what you needed to do to get an A, without spoon feeding you. I genuinely learned so much about accounting and I never felt unprepared for an exam. Don't take this if you're lazy or want to be spoonfed. She wants you to do well in both her class and at ISU.

Anne is a pretty good professor. Her class is set up so that you can get 100% on your homework. There's a semester project which wasn't bad but I would recommend starting right away. Her exams are easy if you do the homework. You will use the book so at least buy the online version.

Clem is an amazing teacher who is always willing to help her students. Attendance is important because you go over a lot of materials each day. 1 LearnSmart and 1 homework assignment due each week. START YOUR PROJECT EARLY. IT IS NOT THAT HARD BUT YOU JUST NEED TIME.

Do the homework. If you can find a group of people to work with, the class is pretty simple. You don't need the book but you will want the PowerPoint slide notebook and the access codes. One big project towards the end of the semester, but again, if you have some acquaintances it's a breeze.

Although this was my hardest class, she was an AMAZING professor. She is very caring and respectful about EVERYONE in the class, even though there are over 200 students in the lecture. She is always sending reminders about homework, exams, extra credit, SI sessions, etc. Study hard for the exams and work hard on the project!

Her class lectures are really easy to follow. I would recommend showing up to class to get the blanks filled in on the class notes.. If you don't show up, then you have to read the book in order to pass. Hw are simple and easy. Studying only class notes is ok for the test and the Qs are the same as the sample exams (same Qs/different #s).

Dr. Clem is one of the best professors I've had at Iowa State. She is very clear with instructions and she's very experienced, so she knows what she's doing. She knows how to keep lectures entertaining, but she's pretty strict with electronics out during class, so watch out for that. Otherwise, she's a great option and I highly recommend!

I highly recommend purchasing her notes at Copyworks, the notes guide you through the entire semester and make studying for exams much easier. Lectures are very informative and helpful.

Overall, not a bad class. Although you have to be perfect to get an A. Need to watch lectures to get a decent grade. Two homeworks every week, but never on the same day and never assigned on the same day every week.

No attendance/class. As long as you do your work you will be absolutely fine. If you are struggling Anne's youtube videos are extremely helpful. I had no issues with her all semester. A lot can be looked up on Quizlet for the exams. Shhhhh

Clem is something. You love her and hate her all at the same time. Her class is very manageable if you put the work in. Class project is probably the worst thing about this year. She doesnt explain it very well and you are pretty much on your own to figure it out. That being said, Id take her over the other professor.

One of the BEST professors I have ever had. She's helpful and caring to her students as long as they respect her and at least try in the class. Doesn't like screens in class so you won't be able to write your notes on your laptop. Going to class is worth it, she gives hints on the homework and on future tests. Hands down my favorite professor here at Iowa State. Not only is she a great professor, but she also cares for each and every one of her students. She is always willing to help. The homework and project are applicable to your learning. Go to class to get the lecture notes as that will help on the exam. Apply yourself and you will do great.

One of a kind professor who knows exactly what she is doing and talking about. You can clearly see how much she cares for her students. The weekly assignments are not hard but can be time-consuming. Make sure to study at least a week in advance for exams as they can be very difficult. She is a great communicator and will bring you to success

Accounting 284 is one of the harder classes I have taken at Iowa State so far, but Anne Clem has the class set up in a really good way. She is quick to respond to emails and gives many resources to help you complete your work. Overall, I would take a class with her again.

You must take ACCT284 with this woman. She genuinely cares about every single one of her students. Handles her huge lecture sizes well and is so clear on concepts and criteria. I am not going to lie but this class is not an easy A. It is hard and you have to work hard to earn your grades. But the teacher is super nice and wants you to succeed. If you focus and work hard from the beginning and do not slack off, you will do great in this class. It is a heavy lectured base class. There is also a big project for this class.

Lectures were fun, detailed notes that help with test. Homework each week, follow the step-by-step for homework. Tests are rough but if you prepare, they aren't impossible. No curves for the tests. Project has a good weight added to grade.

Attendance is not mandatory but you will have a much easier time with the exams and homework if you go to class instead of trying learn it all yourself online or from a friend. Otherwise, this class can be very difficult. She goes through lots of practice problems which helps a ton and makes expectations clear when it comes to exams.

Dr. Clem was a terrific professor and made sure to make lectures engaging so that you could best understand the material. She is not a trick grader and made expectations straight-forward and clear. Highly recommend!

Professor Clem genuinely cares for all of her students and wants them to succeed. As long as you go to class and actively pay attention, it is nearly impossible to fail. She does everything possible to prepare you for her exams and is always willing to help in any way.

She is a great professor! She is very clear about what is going to be on each exam. Lectures are where I learned the most. She is very thorough and is overall a great professor.

Math is my worst subject but Clem is super practical and made everything very easy to learn as long as you put in time and effort. She is the best professor I have ever had and it's obvious that she loves what she does, which makes the lectures enjoyable. The only way you'll get a bad grade in this class is if you put in zero effort.

I really enjoyed having Clem as my professor for Acct 284. There's no textbook, but you'll want to either print out the notes or have a tablet and stylus to write with. The exams are pretty difficult, but it's a harder class. One thing about Clem is she talks insanely fast, so you better be able to write fast in class.

Dr. Clem is a great professor. I don't enjoy accounting but her lectures are very engaging and are very easy to follow. You learn a lot and I would highly recommend going to class as often as possible. The weekly HW is free points and the course project is easy. Her grading criteria is very clear. If you put in the work and you will get an A.

If you go to class and listen you will do well. Accounting is very hard but Clem made it understandable during her lectures. She would provide examples and stories to make topics easier to understand. She does a weekly email reminder so you will always know what is due when. She cares about her students. I liked accounting with her as my professor.

Awesome! She only makes notes available in the lectures, so go to the lectures. Accounting is one of the harder business classes but she made it much easier. Great lectures, made everything relatable. Truly cares. I hate accounting but this heavenly professor made it tolerable.

Clem did a great job at teaching an introductory accounting class. At the start of the class, she explains how to succeed, and it does work. One thing I recommend doing that will have you smooth sailing is doing the readings. Sure, they take some extra time, but when you get to the lecture, it will make so much sense, and it pays off.

It is incredibly clear that she cares about her students and it shows. For me, I absolutely did not like accounting, but she made it bearable enough. Her stories in class were extremely entertaining to listen to. I strongly recommend that anyone who is taking Accounting 284, take it with Clem.

Show up to class and get the packet, if you do this and try you will easily succeed in this class.

She gives you so many chances to be successful in her class. She has very clear expectations and if you meet them, you will have a good grade. Clem is the best professor I have ever had at Iowa State and I would love to take more classes from her!

Professor Clem makes the dreaded accounting material engaging and manageable. While attendance is mandatory, her lectures are worthwhile. Doing the readings and using Unstuck study for study prep made this class smooth sailing.

She's amazing, she really cares about all of her students. The class is difficult but it's not her fault the material isn't easy to learn. She emails back super quick and she is extremely accommodating.

ACCT 2840 is a difficult class regardless of whom you take it with. Professor Clem does a great job at teaching the material. Class can feel a tedious at times due to the nature of the assignments. She does have a strict no phone/laptop policy if that matters to you. Very nice and caring teacher who is always willing to help!

Clem is by far the best professor I have had at Iowa State to date. You can tell she really cares about her students and wants to see them do well on exams and in life. She makes classes interactive, which makes them something I look forward to every Tuesday and Thursday. She also gives us plenty of resources to review and do well on the exams.

Overall, she was a great professor. The class was probably one of the easiest I've taken. I strongly recommend taking this class with her.

She's the only professor that has motivated me enough to attend nearly every lecture. I personally struggle with attendance, and she made lectures worth it. I wish I could work with her more, but my major isn't related to accounting at all. Overall as a professor, she's 10/10 and she makes this course really easy to succeed in.

Prof Clem is the best accounting prof you can have. She genuinely wants you to succeed. The material is difficult but she does her best to make it in a way students can understand.

Prof. Clemm has been my favorite professor so far at ISU. Her lectures are highly engaging, and you can tell that she has a genuine passion for accounting. There are several opportunities for extra credit, and as long as you attend lectures, the class is not too difficult. She is also readily available outside of class and wants you to do well!

Professor Clem is my favorite professor at ISU. She genuinely cares about all of her students and how well they do. She is very personable and helpful. She tells you the exact topics and the number of questions related to each topic on the exams, while also doing a practice exam in class before each exam. There are a lot of extra credit points.

Anne Clem is the absolute best choice for ACCT 2840. She is very clear with her assignments and exams, gives you a note packet, and offers extra support through GA tutoring and help labs. As long as you show up to class and commit, you will easily maintain a good grade in her class.

As an engineering major with zero background in accounting or the business world, she made everything easy to understand. She genuinely cares about her students and sets up the class in a way that makes it hard to do poorly unless you actively try not to succeed. If you put in even minimal effort, you can definitely earn an A.
