She is so nice! She tells you exactly what you need for your papers. I loved her class and would recommend her to anyone!
nice and gives clear directions but relies on the textbook entirely too much. Must read all assigned pages because she always gives out homework quizzes. p.s. during quizzes and Web CT exercises she never gives students enough time to write a decent paragrap/ description. My work was never turned in finished because of this!
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS She has no motivation to be a teacher. She is very biased when she grades papers and isn't a good writer herself. She talks down to you and always used the book. If you ask her a question, she expects you to already know the answer and will tell you to look in the book. You are only allowed to miss 3 days or you get an F. She
Very Frustrating!!! Took the hybrid. The weekly expectations are clear, however, writing the papers is difficult. Most students have a hard time meeting the 'assignment' portion of the rubric. When asked to explain, she talks in circles without directly aswering questions. She scolds the class but "is not your mother."
I also took her hybrid class this fall and enjoyed it. It worked well for my schedule. This was her 1st hybrid class. Changes will be made next semester based on our opinions. She was extremely helpful and approachable. We had no quizzes.Just papers. She gave enough time to complete. Same subject every paper. I liked her and I learned ALOT from her.
really hate this teacher you pick one subject to write about all simester. most of her work is pointless and just busy work. she will treats you like your in kindergarden but expects you to know english inside and out. does not know english will well herself.
I did not enjoy this professor. I did feel like I was in High School all over again. Pop quizzes were given all the time, even though she claims to only give them if she can tell you haven't read the HW.Their is no specific way she grades papers, I felt like she just chose everyones grades based on no specific rubric.
I took her hybrid 1102 class Fall 2009 and i liked it. She is extremely nice as long as you follow instructions and don't ask stupid time consuming questions. Same subject on all four papers and no quizzes. You dont really even need to read the book either. Shes a nice person, knows English, and is pretty attractive to boot. Definitely reccomended.
Scattered and rushed. Syllabus is only solid communications. Dislikes helping students between class. I took the hybrid on Friday. Deadlines for 4 papers were cram. Exploratory Essay was biggest paper & used up most students spring break. Too many quizzes & discussion board every week. Not a fair grader. AVOID THIS PROF. AT ALL COST.
I enjoyed this class. She expects you to have a good back ground in grammar. She gives a lot of quizzes, which are easy if you've done the reading. We had in class timed journals which I hated, she did assign a take home journal to help improve journal averages since people were struggling. She was helpful with questions in or out of class.
This class was pretty easy. There are 4 papers on the same topic and for each paper she clearly states what you will need to put in each paper. Make sure you do the reading because she does give a lot of quizzes. I am not a good writer and I was able to get a B in this class. Do what she tells you to do and you will be fine.
Prof. Corbitt really knows her stuff, very good at the mechanics of grammar. She is also extremely helpful at the critical thinking that goes along with successful creative writing. Very energetic and kinda cute too!
She's a good professor. There are four papers and quizzes after every reading. She really helps you connect with the papers and other students. After the first paper, you can pretty much pan out what grades your going to get for the rest of the semester. She's got a routine too. Very predictable. Overall a good professor though.
She is a great teacher! She is young and smart and always willing to help. She leave helpful criticism on your papers. But she does require attendance and participation. Her rubric and syllabus are crystal clear and easy to follow. I am taking her for 1102.
I LOVED this class. She is a great professor!! There is some reading but it all helps when writing the papers she assigns. She is very clear on the guidelines for the papers and is willing to help if you ask for it. She grades fairly and allows revisions if you make below an 80. I would definitely reccomend her for English 1101!!!
She is AWESOME! You always know exactly what to expect. She is a bit of a stickler on deadlines, but that's not a bad thing. Four papers. If you have reading, you'll have a quiz. You must attend class. She makes it fun and interesting because she is young too.
Such a good professor. 4 papers, but she gives you all the guidelines which make them very easy to write! Lots of reading quizzes but I found they were very easy. The quizzes are all very alike, so after the first few you should know what to expect! Oh and you do not fail after 3 absenses people... you fail after 6. Loved her!
I loved this class. You always know what to expect. She gives a rubric for every assignment so that you always know what she expects you to address. If she assigns reading you will have a quiz. As long as you stay on top of your work the class is really fun and it isn't too hard to make a great grade!
She is a great teacher! If you do the work (which consits of a few short readings and 4 papers) you can make a good grade quite easy.
Professor Corbitt was a great teacher! She is enthusiastic and happy to be in class. She is very clear about what she expects from students and their assignments. As long as you come to class and do what she asks of you, you will do great!
Ms. Corbitt is an awesome teacher!! I was nervous coming into this class, but after the first essay- i loved it! she's very clear on what she expects from you! makes classes fun and interesting.. put forth effort and you'll definitely make an A in the class.. read the homework she assigns for the quizzes!!
I wish I could have this professor for my world literature class. I think she is an excellent professor. She knows her material. If you keep up with assignments and show interest to the professor, whether before or after class you will get a good grade. I took a hybrid class on fridays and got an A. I definitely recommend Hybrid classes, easy A
She was not the best teacher!
I took for 1101 also. I really like her teaching style, shes easy to follow. Im taking her 1102 hybrid class and I love it. Her papers are very straight forward and she is super helpful. Not an easy A but def not impossible.
This is my second semester with her. I took 1101 last semester. This time I did a hybrid (great choice!). She is a great teacher, loves what she does and wants to help you! She is very straight forward about what she wants, so do it and you will most likely get an A. Easy reading quizzes each week (so you will need the book!). Take her!
Professor Corbitt is amazing! She is such a great teacher and you learn a lot from her. She is extremely clear and easy to understand. The hybrid class is the best! It's very easy to get an "A" if you put forth the effort; the work is not hard as long as you do it. I would definitely take this course again!! I definitely recommend it!!!
good teacher, knows her stuff.
Did not like her at all. Wanted group work during class (Friday hybrid), papers weren't graded too hard. Not willing to work with students who are sick (specifically pneumonia and bronchitis). Rude.
GREAT teacher! She knows her stuff. The class was VERY organized and structured, you went into the class knowing exactly what you were going to do that day. Homework due before each class. 4 papers + timed writing. Easy papers, I made A's and B's on all. Willing to help anyone. Also mandatory conference with her at end of semester.
I didn't like her at all. I thought she was very high strung, and nit picked a lot. She gave us a week to finish the modules, yet - didn't go over the material in the module until the day it was due. A lot of detailed minor work that was just a nuisance. I just really wish that I had picked a different instructor for this class.
Good teacher. Essays are pretty tough, but there is additional work to compensate for it. She also lets you revise the essays which is a plus.
You will not learn much from Professor Corbitt. Sometimes it feels as though she rushes through the material. The semester is filled with lots short assignments & quizzes. There are 4 papers and 2 timed writings. One of those timed writings is the final. She grades her essays very strictly. Students can only be absent 3 times out of the semester.
I really liked prof. Corbitt. I was not an amazing writer in High school but i did well in her class. She was clear and will help you if you ask her. She grades pretty easy if you ask me. I would spend 1 hour on her papers and would make high B's no problem. I liked her enough to take her again for 1102. She is pretty funny too.Definitely take her
I really liked Prof. Corbitt. She was extremely helpful, and even took a week off of class just to do one-on-one student conferences. I just put mandatory attendance because of KSU wide English attendance. Whenever a question was asked, she included the whole class in the answer. Work was not always easy, but enjoyable. she's pretty hot too.
I would strongly recommend taking your essay by the writers workshop before turning it in. As long as you do that, you should at least make a B in the class. The online homework can be a pain sometimes (not to mention monotonous), but it really does keep you relatively up to speed on everything. Easy for a B, an A will be hard earned.
HATE her. She assigns entirely too much busy work for a core class. I am a chemistry major. I do not have the time, energy, or desire to take TWO quizzes, have TWO 200-300 word writing assignments and a reading assignment per week- plus 4 papers. This class is hopelessly unnecessary, so she over compensates with extra work.
I like her. BUT she assigns a lot of work. There are major assignments due every class period, 6 major papers and militant attendence-taking. I've got 18 credit hours this semester and the majority of my time is spent doing things for this class - not on my math and chemistry (where I NEED to be be spending time). Please let this class be over!!
She assigns entirely too much busy work. Nothing is difficult as far as content, just ultra time consuming and pointless. She clearly loves this subject, but she needs to understand that it is just a core class. Almost everyone is there because it is a requirement, and they really need to be able to focus on more important courses.
I am currently taking this class online and I love her! There is a bit of busy work but it is NOT that hard to complete. I work 40 hours a week, have a three year old, and am taking 12 credit hours so it definitely can be done. She's very clear on what she wants. Best English teacher I've ever had!
Seems nice on the surface. But would not recommend her at all. Mandatory attendance, with entirely too much "busy work". Also assigns a lot of papers and other homework. Her class is 100 mph from start to finish and runs until time runs out. Horrible grader on papers as well.
I love this professor. I'm currently taking this class online and I don't like research papers. She really takes you by the hand through each step. I really don't think theres a lot of work. You have to participate in disscussions and do little assignments that actually help you in the ideas and the way you construct your paper.
Cares WAY to much about the effort being put into her class. Attendance is MANDATORY so make sure not to miss more than three classes. She hates being contradicted and will chew you out for it. Overall, if you're stuck in this class: follow exactly what she says, do all busy work on time, and attend class and maybe you'll make a good grade.
She expects a lot of work/dedication to this class, but if you try, she will meet you. If you prove yourself, she will bend her rules to help you succeed. She is absolutely wonderful, I highly recommend her.
I took this class online and it was one of the better online experiences I've had so far. I didn't give this class my full attention (I took it over the summer) and I still made a B. Just pay attention to her instructions and you will certainly succeed in her class.
Took Corbitt for 1101 and online for 1102. Best ENG teacher I've ever had. Highly recommend her. Lots of daily quizzes, readings, discussions, and 5 papers total. She explains assignments so well and if you ever have a question she is quick to respond and ENJOYS helping you. She is so organized, online and for in-class lectures. Knows her stuff!
BEST english teacher! Always open to helping you if you have questions, lots of grades which means lots of chances to get your grade up! Very clear with all assignments. TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!
Extremely helpful! Clear on what she wants! Not an easy class but not a hard class! You have to put in a little time in on all the reading quizzes and homework! But nonetheless, GREAT teacher!
Professor Corbitt Is so sweet and genuinely loves all of her students and wants them to succeed. Yes, you have to do homework. Yes you have to write papers. This is college. I learned a lot from her and even though I did recieve a B i am very happy with her overall!
LOATHED this woman entirely. The actual class is not that hard, frequent homework quizzes, several writing assignments. She grades pretty fairly although she can be really rude and just overall not nice if you disagree with her. Attendance is mandatory. 3 absences allowed. If you're willing to put in the tedious work I recommend her, not an easy A
She's very helpful if you ask questions. Any paper that you get less than a B on you can revise and she'll average the two together. All of her quizzes are online. She's really fun and engaging, and she has a good sense of humor. I definitely recommend taking her.
Professor Corbitt is a great professor. She takes you through all the steps of writing and is very good with D2L, she makes things clear and easy to understand. There is a lot of work, but none of it is hard. The writing part, if you make less than a B she lets you revise. And she's really fun and engaging. I recommend her.
Ms. Corbitt is a really cool teacher. She is helpful and her d2L is always up-to-date. She is very organized. The only thing negative I have to say about her is that she can seem very sweet, but if you ask her something, in class, she is a bit defensive. She can be snippy and sassy, but she is very clear with what she expects out of her students.
Mrs. Corbitt is a great teacher. She takes time to make sue that you understand. She also allows you to resubmit any paper that is below a B. Her online class was structured really well. She clearly shows you what she wants from you. I also took her class at the school ENG 1101. She was polite, but strict with her policies. I enjoy writing now.
She is super nice and you can tell that she actually cares about what she is teaching sometimes the class can be a little boring but you can't always make writing fun. She certainly tries though. Really nice and always there to help even if you can't make it to office hours she will skype with you to help. I recommend taking her!!
Professor Corbitt is a wonderful teacher. She truly cares about her students and is very clear with her expectations throughout the course. With that said, you have to put in the work to earn the grade you want. The assignments are not tough, but you have to complete them and show you made an effort. Take this class if you have trouble writing!!
I took her ENG 1102 class online and it was awesome. I've taken dozens of online classes & hers has got to be the most organized class of all. She always emails back right away and returns grades FAST. She's willing to work with you and any problems you have. I would definitely take her again whether online or in person!
I have taken multiple online classes & Prof. Corbitt's class has definitely got to be the most organized class ever. She emails back and grades assignments so quick. She really cares about her students and does everything to meet everyone's needs.
Extremely organized. Extremely helpful. Best English professor I have had out of 3. Grades fairly. There is a lot of busy work. However, I missed a few assignments and a couple being a good percentage of overall grade and still made a B. Definitely recommend her as a professor.
I really enjoyed Professor Corbitt's class. She isn't too difficult of a grader, but I still suggest proofreading your papers thoroughly. She gives a lot of classwork assignments that help cushion your grade a little if you aren't the best writer. Also, I loved how she gives you the opportunity to call or skype with her if you need help in class
I took this class online during summer while I was at home. A lot of work and hard to sit down & do over the summer.. but I managed. Even with part-time job and traveling. Professor Corbitt is very clear, makes the material, interesting and enjoyable. Submit your drafts when they are due.. Or you will miss teacher and student peer review. No Tests!
Ms. Corbitt sets a clear schedule from the beginning so there aren't any surprises. Her class is easy, consistent. She gives thoughtful work and is willing to help. She replies to your emails ASAP!
Prof Corbitt is the most helpful professor I've ever had. You can email her through D2L and meet with her as many times as you want about essays or anything. She is very clear with her lectures, and she wants you to really succeed. She has a rubric for everything so you know how you're graded and she doesn't hand out A's.
Mrs. Corbitt seriously rocks. She is hilarious, and sounds exactly like emma stone so that's an automatic plus. She has an awesome syllabus that helps a lot, emails back instantly, and is always there for you. She let's you eat in class and brings food sometimes too. You can revise your paper for extra credit too. Would definitely take again.
Took this as part of the FY Seminar, so all my papers were on a specific topic. If you make below an 80 on a paper you can revise it, really wants students to succeed. A few (4-5) quizzes online but not hard at all. If you want an A, it's up to you. Put in a little effort and read the rubrics for assignment and you'll do fine!
She is a pretty tough grader on her essays, but there are plenty of opportunities to make up the points. She allows to revise an essay and turn it in within a week to gain a few extra points. She also gives extra credit. Attendance is mandatory to her class. First 3 aren't questioned. After that you begin to lose half a letter grade, I believe.
AVOID THIS CLASS AT ALL COST. You have so much stupid and pointless work in this class it is unbelievable. Discussion boards and journals every week. It always has a minimum word count and it's always long. You basically have 2 papers due every 3 days, and then you still have to write your essays.
Professor Corbitt is not very clear on her essays and is a very tough grader. I put a lot of effort into my essays and did not do well. I always emailed her if i had questions but she would get mad that I was asking them. I went into this class feeling confident about making an A and now I'm thinking otherwise. I wouldn't take her again.
Amazing professor!!!! She gives really clear guidelines, answers emails in less than 24 hours, and gives about a paragraph of feedback on all papers. She is super helpful and a really lenient grader. If you get below a B you can redo your paper!! I HATE English classes, and this one was actually bearable.
Ms. Corbitt is by far one of the best teachers I've ever had and deinitely the best english professor by far. There is a good amount of work, but she's not a hard grader. You have to pick a topic at the beginning of the semester(that she takes a while to approve), but after that, the semester is just working towards that topic. She's super helpful
Best English and online class I have ever taken. Extremely clear expectations and super organized weekly modules. Follow the directions on the modules, take notes on videos, and pay attention to the rubrics and you will do fine. I dread writing essays, but this class has actually improved my writing and I have gotten A's on all essays.
As a freshman core class for composition, this class was really hard. A lot of work! A lot of writing! And she gets mad if you email her and asks her questions. You pick one subject and write about it the entire course. You can only write so much on one subject. If you like to write and are ready to do a ton of work, then take her. I would not.
She is the worst teacher I have ever had. Crazy grader, expects a stupid amount of work, and is horrific at following her own grading criteria. DO NOT TAKE HER
This class is essay heavy. The online version has 2 weekly discussion requirements. There are opportunities to revise before the final essay assignments are due. This includes a conference with the professor for input. I got an A in this class. Research your topic thoroughly and ask questions. You will do well.
She is great! She is an amazing communicator. She explains everything in depth and gives numerous examples to ensure that the class understands. Her essays are fairly challenging but she is very helpful and class peer reviews help to guide the assignments. Kinda a tough grader but reasonable nonetheless. Take her! She's lit.
She really knows what shes doing and takes her class very seriously, she grades tough and gives irrelevant feedback. homework everyday online. good instruction during class and communicates very well with the class and individually if you have questions
I loved Mrs. Corbitt! I'm a good writer, but due to a poor professor ended up with a bad grade in this class the first time (I'm all A's in English, but ended up with a C). I learned more from her online class than I did in my previous class. She gives excellent feedback, and is super accessible. 10/10 would recommend
She is very nice about grading, and gives great feedback!
Professor Corbitt was an awesome English professor. For someone like me, who had a rough time with English in high school, she really made this class possible by being encouraging and offering great feedback. I definitely recommend her to anyone. Just do your work, and follow the rubrics and you'll do fantastic!
Tough grader!!
do not take her!!!!!!!!!!!!! she can't simply just give you a rubric and tell you to write a paper with a due date, she has to give you 10 different assignments BEFORE the paper is due. Assignments are ridiculous and absolutely too much work for a gen ed course! Would never take again....
Great professor, one of my favorites so far. Very nice, and very willing to help you with anything you need. Responds to emails quickly. Work load is good, just be sure to know the due dates for everything (two due dates a week). Would definitely take her again
I took Professor Corbitt's Engl1101 hybrid class and it was great. It isn't easy, but she is more than willing to help and she gives GREAT advice if you are willing to reach out to her. She is very enthusiastic about what she's teaching and cares a lot. Just work hard and ask her questions.
Ms. Corbitt's class taught me to be a better writer in every aspect. I learned a lot and felt inspired by her unique teaching methods.
I took this class online & I loved it. Her expectations are clear, she gives thorough detail through instructional videos & each assignment shows how its graded so you arent confused. She also provides plenty of feedback & responds in a timely manner. She even does phone conferences to help us with our essays, & is so sweet! Would retake!
I took this class online and I hated it. She grades really hard. No matter how much effort you put in, you will not get a good grade. I highly recommend not taking her. It is probably one of the worst classes I have ever taken.
Ms. Corbitt's class was awesome for me. All I did was read and understand the book and the class was super easy. She's one of my favorite professors
She is one of my favorite professors at KSU. I took her in English 1102 and once I also saw that she taught World Literature, I didnt hesitate to pick her. I specifically did a hybrid class. Although the course is very content heavy, you just have to follow her guidelines and meet her word limits and you will almost always get an A.
The best English professor I had out of all of my semesters in college.
Im normally not good at english courses but Ms. Corbitt is a great professor who made her class very interesting. This class was not an easy A, but it definitely was a attainable. Theres a lot of reading and assignments to do each week and also a small group assignments every class period. Overall, a great choice!
Average professor. You must go to class to pass. She will not accept excuses for any reason (even medical emergencies) and will take off 5 points from your final grade if you miss class. Her lectures didn't really provide anything to the course. Would be better as an Online class rather than a Hybrid.
Professor Corbitt is really nice and funny. The best part is that attendance is not mandatory. She does give a lot of work per module (I took hybrid), and some of it does seem like busy work. She gives a lot of extra credit opportunities though.
One of the best online prof Ive ever had. Replys to emails immediately. 15 Modules and 4 Major Essays. Modules are based off a point system. As long as you complete every lesson in each module you will get an A. Her papers can get difficult if you dont understand what it requires so Seriously, ask her questions if needed. Shes all for helping
Hybrid 1102. Anne was more than willing to help you learn. She provided unique content and taught from the heart. There are 4 main papers worth the majority of your grade and also weekly assignments. She lets you choose one writing topic for the entire semester so choose wisely! This class gives you a clear foundation for future writing.
Prof. Corbitt is a saint! I took work lit with her as a hybrid course. Weekly online assignments were due on the same day each week, few essays, one project, a mid-term, and a final. This was my first English course I've taken at Kennesaw and she made it so easy to transition. The most caring prof I have ever had! Take her!
online class is not too difficult. modules every week with discussion boards and some quizzes & Tuesday and Saturday due dates. many essays but if you follow the rubrics you should do good. not my favorite class, but not the worst. everything is pretty straightforward for the most part and she sometimes offers extra credit in the recap videos
I enjoyed her as a person, but she was a pretty hard teacher. I enjoyed the texts we read and the assignments were not too difficult. I felt that the tests were hard. The class has discussion posts and quizzes each week. There is a mid term and final. There is also a paper and a film project. If you take her, get ready to work for an A!
Anne Corbitt is a great professor who gives awesome feedback on how to improve your writing. The class itself is pretty easy, but there is a lot of homework. She's always available for office hours to talk more in depth. Our whole class really improved their creative writing throughout the semester!
Professor Corbitt is nice, funny, and makes in-class discussions interesting, but I hate her grading criteria. There's a lot of weekly assignments (usually reading/watching something, a quiz, and a discussion board), but they're only worth 30% of your grade. Your grades on the midterm and final can really bring your grade down, if you do bad.
Nice, accessible and encouraging. She responds quickly to e-mails and is very organized.
If you can stay away from her, you should. This was the only C ive ever made in college. And the fact that im a great writer says alot. I would write my papers early and submit them to her and she would say it looks good. Then Id submit it for a grade and get a 65...............
Loved her online class on detective literature. I highly recommend reading the books as her tests and quizzes are very detail orientated. She responded to emails in a timely manner and always helped with any questions I had. Super helpful.
She grades tough on essays. Quizzes can be difficult and deadlines can be weird so make sure you know them.
This is the 1st online class I ever took, and I really enjoyed it! She's a sweet, caring teacher. Lots of assignments, so don't slack off. Due dates are usually in the middle of the week, so definitely write them down somewhere! Always responds to emails and gives good feedback on all major writing assignments
a lot of reading and writing. she gives good feedback on your essays. you have to buy the 2 books required and actually read them because the essays and quizzes are mostly over the books, overall a pretty easy class.
She is suuuuch a caring teacher, I would recommend taking your 2xxx class with her. She giver great feedbacks and although there are a LOT of assignments she is the easiest grader I've ever had. I would literary write whatever was on my mind for her journals and always got 100. The literary analysis assignment I thought I would fail, I got a 92!!!
Ive only been in this class for 2 weeks and Im already struggling. If you have time to read 99 pages in one week, write 300 words on a chapter, reply to two people with 150 words each and write a 300 word response to another prompt then you should take this class. If you have a job, have other classes or have children I dont recommend this class
To be honest, she is not a bad professor, but she gives tons of assignments. Please be prepared to do these all assignment in a week:- 1) read 70-100 pages detective novel or stories, 2) Watch two videos: 18-21 minutes of each video, 3) Video Quiz, 4) Critical analysis essay 600-800 words 5) 750 words reading response.
not a "bad" professor. she gives a ridiculous amount of work that is no where near necessary. lengthy discussions every single week, along with a quiz, and a journal. 3 projects that were long, as well as, a multiple choice AND short answer final. if you're taking this just as a gen ed. stay away.
not understanding with missing work
Ms. Corbitt is my favorite professor I've had yet! She really cares about her students. As long as you do the bare minium for each assignment you will get an A. Word count is very important!! She grades fair and has two extra credit opportunities. She also has what she calls "Hall Passes" which allows you to turn in 2 assignment late.
I took this class in Fall2020 as a dual enrolment student. She loves giving tons busy work. Be ready to sometimes dedicate a whole day to her class. She is strict when grading papers so have at least one person before submitting. I think there was an initial discussion post (and 3 responses to others) every week and at least 3 papers.
