Though science could be very difficult for many to understand, Mrs. Dietz may be the best choice to make at SAC. She was very nice, and offered much EC.

physical geology is an extremely hard and time consuming class, but she is the best teacher at SAC to take. You have to show up to learn the info, and make sure you keep up in the labs, but she does give a lot of extra credit too.

Great lady, very helpful. Offers at least 25 pts. extra credit. It is hard not to learn in her class, she always repeats herself, so you automatically pickup material. Her test can throw you the first time, but just keep up with the readings and pay attention to her lectures. Must read!!!

I got a C in her class but only becuase I slacked off on a few tests, the ones I took seriously were easy and her lectures may get a bit confusing at times so ask questions and she will try everyway to explain the topid to you untill you understand it. Do the extra credit!

Very Helpful, Always there to help. Alot is taught but if you do the chapter review, youll pass easily. Extremely nice to students. Very open minded

This must be a back semester for her because she has had a very hard time concentrating on her material. I think she could be a better teacher and I wish I had her for the lecture instead of the lab portion of this class. If it wasn't for her I'd be TOTALLY lost in the lecture portion of this class.

She was the lab teacher and made us understand the lecture material better than the lecture professor. Was very important to her that we understood the material. She was very good hearted and cared about her students.

She is a very nice lady, and is very intrested in what she's teaching. The test arnt real hard if you study. And she always seems willing to help

Awesome professor! Gives well organized & clear notes. Exams follow her notes. Loves what she does & is so good that she makes you interested in something so trivial as 'dirt.'(if only for that semester ;) Easy A/B. Always available for help. I'd take any class with her again.

Who said college was easy. If you are not willing to study then you are not college material. Her class is easy, just study her notes, she cares about her students. Made a B in her class.

The comment on 11/28 is wrong. She does care about her students. She will help you whenever you need it. She cannot wave a magic wand and figure out you need help. If you send her an email or go to her office she will help. She will even do a review a week before a test, the review is optional to go to but I would highly reccomend going to it.

Tough tests, Lots of notes, she enjoys teaching, very friendly and jokes quite a bit. I passed her final however you will need to study hard. It's true her tests are not that easy but it can be done. She will definately meet up w/ u after class and does have reviews for all tests.

She is very smart and believes that students need to work hard. Her test are hard and you need to read the book as well as your notes. Lots of note writing. Can't depend on outline to pass. Goes through material fast but if you have questions she is very understanding.

Ms dietz goes over everything thats going to be on the test in class.Do not try to memorize the entire book. Study before and after class. DO NOT wait till the last minute. My advice, coming from someone who learned the hard way, record her lectures! She goes through everything quickly and recording it makes things so much easier.i got a B

She gives you a lot of hand out and notes to study over yet she has a way of getting in to things about rocks and you don't know what she is talking about. it seem she is in her own world when she is talking. Shes a good professor. She will give you an outline for each chapter and explain each. There are four exams prior to the final. Make sure you read over the outlines. It's the best way to get an A on them. She also offers extra credit opportunities.

The class was difficult, and the vast majority of students had a hard time, as well. She knows her stuff, but her tests were not easy. Lots of extra credit opportunities, so that was good.

Good Professor explains material very clearly, gives you chapter outlines, lots of opportunity to make extra credit, lots of material to learn, you must keep up with reading and learning material

What an awesome teacher, gives outline per chapter 4 exams if you read and take notes you will get an A lots of extra credit given she is a great teacher!

She gives you outlines of the material that will appear on tests. Review these thoroughly and you will be great. She gives extra credit assignments that will bring your low test grades up, so you have lots of chances of having an excellent grade.

Professor Dietz is wonderful. She's not just a push over, but if you give her class a little effort, you'll do fine. Study the outlines and pay attention in class. Also, she offers some awesome extra credit that you should definately do.

Anne May seem a little spastic, but if you read the text and study the handouts and the notes you take in class it should be an easy A. I got a B because i bommed the first test which is the hardest. She lets you make up bad grades by doing the extra credit. they are not hard. Fieldtrips w/ essays due afterward. Fun and intersting class.

Crytal clear on what is expected of her class. She gives outlines of each chapter. Test are fair and if you just read outlines, you should pass this course.

Totally awesome teacher. If you pay attention in class, notes are useful for tests. She totally loves her job which makes for an enjoyable class. Wish didnt go through some material so fast, a lot to learn. Would TAKE all of her classes if needed them.

This woman is very interested in the subject and tries her best to make it for the students. There are extra credit opportunities which help a good deal to those with a borderline A or B. Also, dont spend too much time in the book, although the chapter reviews helped myself, the outlines are well thought out and extremely beneficial to memorize.

I found this class very boring. She does her best to make it interesting, but it is geology so you can only do so much with that. I do not recommend this class to anyone who does not see themselves being future geologists or geology instructors. She is an excellent teacher of a subject that is hard to get your hands around at times. She does make rocks, ocean floors and weather interesting! She treats you like an adult, which is what we are supposed to be and that is refreshing to me.

Professor Dietz is an amazing teacher. She heard me ask another student for help, so after class she went up to ME to make sure I completly understood the material. That is a dedicated professor. I'm very glad there still are caring teachers like her. She makes herself available to help tutor as well. GREAT PROFESSOR!

Material is extremely boring, but prof is very helpful & gives many chances for extra credit...I took her in the summer and she teaches the entire book..so be prepared to go over notes every night!

The material WILL BE EXTREMELLY BORING if you are not interested in the subject. I personally found the material AMAZING, I always wanted to learn about rocks, weather, volcanoes etc? I really enjoyed her class. If you want to do well,then,STUDY hard.I am an International student and I did EXTREMELLY WELL!!! Think about this.. Good luck to you.

This class might be boring to some people, but getting to the point. You really dont need your book, because she gives you an outline of the chapters and the exams are over the outlines. Study the outlines for the exams and you'll do good!

I really enjoyed her class. I was scared at first to take her class but ended up doing really well on her exams, I got a final grade of a B. For her exams definitely read the outlines and use to book to tie it all together. Her first two exams are the hardest so make sure you study!

Ended up really liking this class. She gives lots of ways to get extra credit. I never used text book but wouldnt have survived without her outline. Highlight everything she says in the outline and review it and u should do fine.

You really don't need textbook. This class is not a cake walk, requires studying, I didn't study but pulled a C..If I would have I'm sure I would have got a B or A. She tries to make interesting, but it was incredibly boring to me. Go to class, if you don't, you just hurt yourself, other than that, OK.

She made the class intresting to me. She has a somewhat hands on approch. I have already recamended her to anohter student, and would do it again. Her class isn't to hard if you take notes and read her book, for her tests come out of her book.

Very great calculus teacher i waited for her to teach this so icould get an A which i did but now she moved back to science dept after 1 semester of math!

I took her for summerI. What a GREAT teacher. She's so passionate about the earth! She's funny & when she sees the class bored she'll make evry1 get up & go get water to get you bk on track. She offers fun field trips for ex/cred.ALL YOU NEED to do is read the outline booklet for an easy A. Great teacher I highly recom!

Her tests are rather hard. Even if you study the chapter for weeks, you could manage to get a 75 on the test and some of the test questions are hard to understand. If you aren't the type to study every day, then you should look for another teacher. She is very sweet and her stories are fun, but the course is definitely a tough one.

I love her! she kept my attention the whole way and i had her in the summer 2 hours a day all week...shes one of the best teachers ive had.

Loved the class and prof! Her lecture style takes some getting used to but once you understand how she lectures the class becomes pretty interesting. However don't take this class if you are looking to get an easy 'A.' This prof makes you earn your grade-as should all prof's-and it was a challenge that I enjoyed!

There is a ton of material presented. As long as you keep on top of it you should pass. She gives extra credit, whether it be a trip or memorizing the geologic time chart.

I took her for 2 courses and a lab. She is really easy and enjoyable. Her tests are straight from her outlines, verbatim. I made all As, and I'm not the most diligent student. She makes the material really easy to learn. I can't imagine why anyone would dislike her or the course. She is great. Easy A. TAKE HER!

She is a very good high quality teacher that knows her science. VERY EASY and VERY HELPFUL, she understands you as a student and as a person. I would defenetly take her for another class. oh by the way I HATE SCIENCE!

Tough class if you don't keep up with studying. All the material is right in front of you in the required material. She knows her science. Great teacher, would take her again.

I enjoyed the class. She is very helpful and seems to love teaching students about geology. She is animated in her teaching method, and makes you laugh! I studied her outline and was able to get an A. You don't have to purchase the text book just buy the outline! If you are willing to study and not miss class you can get an A!

Her lectures were easy to understand and she used a lot of visual aids. She kept it interesting and offered field trips for extra credit. We used an outline book instead of the textbook.

Professor Dietz is an awesome professor she uses visual aids and goes straight out of the book. Show up to class take notes and do the illumating and you will get an A in her class

Fantastic Fantastic Fantastic Teacher Loved every part of the class! So amazed on how much I learned from this Geo 1301 class passed the class with an A. Gives A lot of extra credit even a trip to San Pedro park I took this class in summer 1 and loved every part of it. Recommend her !!

She really enjoys teaching geology. She tries to break the material down as much as possible. This is a class where you have to put a lot of time into studying if you want a good grade because there is so much material. She knows that many of her students struggle with the class so she gives more then enough opportunities for extra credit

She is one of the best. She loves the subject, teaches it well, and explains EVERYTHING. Tests are on exactly whats in her notes. 4 exams plus the final. She drops lowest test grade & replaces it with the final grade. Give tons of extra credit. No excuse to fail this class. I learned way more than I could imagine. Thank you Mrs. Dietz!

Teaches right out of the book. 4 Exams, with the lowest replaced with the final exam grade. Not a class to skip. Tests can be somewhat hard if you don't study/take notes. She let's you see your test scores, but keeps the tests, which I found annoying. Would be better to keep past tests for study use for the final. Lots of extra credit opportunities

This class is very interesting. I have learned a lot and have enjoyed taking this class. She is a great professor and explains her lectures clearly. Study study for those tests though they can be difficult at times.

I loved the whole class! shes a very good teacher, very enthused about her teaching except she goes extremely fast while lectering just make sure you can keep up and actually study for her and you'll pass :)

offers up to 35 points extra credit 3 test & final makes it 4 add together all test plus extra credit t get final grade lots of studying needed but provides a lot or resources and tools to succeed just buy outline and you should be good & take notes

class is only 4 tests. study and know the stuff inside and out .. tests are really hard to pass.

I love Professor Dietz. She is passionate about the subject that she is teaching and is always available for questions. The course required a great deal of study time, but it was worth it in the end. I would recommend courses taught by Prof. Dietz to anyone. She cares about her students success!

NOT a class to slack off in. Gives four test and then the final, no homework but she does give extra credit; so take advantage of it. Her outline is available in the bookstore, her test are primarily based on that outline so make sure you study. I wasn't too fond of "Earth Science," but in all honesty she makes it fun! Definitely worth the money!

Awesome teacher she grades kinda tough take a good set of notes her test go by her outline book make sure you read them don't slack or you will not pass extra credit was a big help if you make lower on one exam and make higher on your fine she will replace your lowest exam grade with your final that was also a big help would take her again

This is tough class but Professor Dietz provides outlines, practice questions, extra credit and also has online tutoring. Her lectures are interesting and if you study you'll be good.

If you dont need this class for your major, drop it now. Memorize everything from her outline book and there will still be things you've never seen on the exams. NO REVIEW GIVEN FOR EXAMS! Although extra credit is abundant, it is very low in value so dont expect it to save you. If you're not a GEO major , take another science , You will STRESS here

Dietz is an amazing professor, she really cares about her students and it shows. Your whole grade consists of 4 tests & the final. Every other assignment done is both optional & extra credit. She does NOT require you to buy the book, which is awesome, if you take good notes & study you'll do fine. I did well by printing her outlines out via canvas.

I loved Mrs. Dietz. Her class is NOT extremely easy and you have to do work, but the grading is straight forward. She is very open and eager to help. Her recorded tutoring sessions are a life savor. She is also very passionate about what she does. I missed a few assignments and it showed, but you can recoup if you try! Just make sure to study!!

I think Prof. Dietz is a great; she's funny and passionate about the subject. Her tests are tough because she gives a lot of "Which of these is true about X?" and the answer is more often than not "all of these" meaning you really have to study and memorize every detail. She's great though, just pay attention in class, take good notes, and study.

I really enjoyed this class. Professor Dietz is an awesome professor. There is no need to buy the book. She will load her outlines into Canvas. Just make sure you follow along and take notes. Pay attention in class and participate. Don't skip class, you will miss a lot. This is not an easy A but you can pass it if you study.

If this is your major take Prof Dietz, her knowledge and passion for the subject is perfect for you. If you want an easy science credit I'd steer away. The class consist of 5 tests, with reviews that don't do a great job at prepping you for the tests. DONT BUY THE BOOK. Extra credit is worth so little it won't give you the boost you want it too.

Dietz is an educated lady. With dedication, and effort you can pass! She offers plenty of extra credit so you can bring up your average. I recommend very highly taking this professor!

I now have 27 hours, with a 4.0 GPA - versus being smart I work really hard. You have to WORK to get an A in her class. That means do ALL of the extra credit assignments and diligently study for each exam. She may give a curve and she gives extra credit questions on most exams. Prof. Dietz is super passionate! Awesome person & instructor!
