She is so awesome! I would take another course from her anytime! She has a great sense of humor that keeps class interesting. A lot of writing but she is fair and fun!

SHe is a great professer that likes what she does and can tell by the way she teaches. She likes making students laugh. If you stay on top of things you'll do good.

Good: She's a great teacher, she helps when she can. Bad: She's really hard. Her papers aren't so hard, but her test are!!! If you don't know the WHOLE BOOK you won't pass the test.

I liked her. I didn't get the greatest grade in her class, but that was my fault. She is a challenging teacher, so it's not an easy A. But she was nice and a little kooky. Definately be able to apply what you've learned on tests!

Loved her! She has such a great personality and a love for Psychology. She made Abnormal psych so interesting and so much fun. Very helpful and easy to understand. Absolutely recommend her to any psych student.

Duran is the BEST!! Her personality and sense of humor make the class very fun. Her lectures are really straight forward and she always has fun class activities. I would definately recomend any of her classes. SHE's AWESOME and she's not a tough grader.

She is a fun and interesting teacher, that cares. If you need help, just ask. Very approachable! Not an easy A, but if you study, read and do the work it isn't hard to get a B. Loved her!

She was really interesting, and I was able to apply a lot of principles of the discipline to my life. Unfortunately, the TA taught half the class, and while he knew the material well, he could not make the subject come to life like she could. One of the best classes for class discussion you willtake

She's really good, but she will trick you into getting lower grades on the test if you don't read the book. So that sucks, but everything else is pretty good.

Her lectures were great. I still remember her lectures and stories. Her tests are NOT tricky. If you just take clear notes, learn all the bold terms in the book, and read what she specifically says to read, then you will get a good grade. She is both funny and interesting.

She was cool, you had to pay attention, though in class, and you did have to read, but it wasn't a tricky class, it was a cool class.

I loved this Prof., not only was she funny & easygoing i also learned so much in this class. The tests were kinda hard but overall reading was not a must. I thought it was a fun class. SHe was not intimidating or mean at all, quite the opposite. !

she is so fun!! the class was absolutely awesome, it was a games class and all we did was play games. i definately recommend her, she is mellow and down to earth and really excited over the games.

All I can say is that she thinks she's funny, but she's not. She should really stop trying too hard, because it isn't working. OTher than that, the class is ok, not too hard.

Great professor! Good explanations of material. While some might be able to do without the textbook, it is helpful to read over the material before attending class! Very funny, never a dull moment in that class!

I had Duran for this class as well as for CSUB 103 she is a great proeffor and person BUT the 312 class was very difficult you must read the book and study hard to do good.

All you have to do is read the book,the questions are from the book , the exams are multiple choice questions and they are not that hard , the essay questions are usually the main things in the book, and sometimes she will tell you in class that this is going to be on the exam , the bonus questions are pretty easy and whatever you write ull get crd

One of the most fun and enjoyable teachers I've had in my college career. She knows how to make class worth coming to. Her tests aren't easy but you won't kill yourself either. Reading isn't mandatory but it helps. She tells 1-3 jokes before a test because she says studies show that laughing before a test releases stress and produces higher grades.

She is the best psychology professor in the department. I took it for my major and I thoroughly enjoyed her lectures. You must work hard for the A, but it surely reachable. I would recommend Prof. Duran any time, anywhere.

I really enjoyed this class. I thought the topic was interesting and I really like professor Duran. She is funny and clearly loves the topic. Exams can be hard, however, if you actually read then you'll do fine! Offers up to 5 extra points on each exam!

It was easy to pay attention in this class because she is funny and relatable. Do the work on time and listen in class and it shouldn't be hard to get an A.

If you aren't taking one or haven't taken one of her courses you are literally cheating yourself. She is an incredible professor. Take her class, you'll see.

class is really easy as long as u pay attention in class. I would recommend recording her lectures if you arent a good note taker.know examples of each term and u'll do fine on the tests.study the powerpoint slides. Dont plagarize! Dr. Duran is a great professor. The readings are interesting, and she is CLEARLY passionate about the subject. I much respect for her. She has a funny, amusing, and caring personality. You can tell she loves her job. Tests are take-home essay questions (not easy), but they made me think, and I'm glad she gave them to us. Highly recommend her.

If you don't take Dr. Duran you are seriously short-changing your education at CSUB. She is incredible. Kept me a psyc major and I couldn't be happier about it. Two classes with her and I'm crossing my fingers I'll have her again!

She is a great teacher. I enjoyed her class and she is really helpful!!! Attendance is not mandatory but highly recommended. She makes class really intrusting with her funny stories which help on the tests. Three tests and a final they were fair. Participation points and one project.

She's the best psychology teacher ever. Just read your book and attend class and you will get an A. Since I didn't attend much I got a lower grade. But she offers E.C. as well and she's amazingly funny!!!!!

A great teacher, however you really need to do your own part. Her powerpoints aren't in depth at all, so you really have to take good notes, I found that reading the book was a must. Also no study guide at all or really any direction of one, so tests can be overwhelming. She can get very cynical and condescending if annoyed, but this is rare.

Duran is a great teacher. She offers extra credit and clears up anything you don't understand during lecture. She doesn't use power points so you have to listen while taking notes. It helps to take the book to class with you. It is important to study. There are few assignments and a poster project with a group of 4 people.

Honestly, I learned a lot from her. Expected it to be an easy A class but made us work for our grade. She explained everything extremely well just didn't explain how you could do better for future projects. She is always willing to listen to any issues you may have or input on the class. If you work hard on the few assignments you'll be fine.

Dr. Durans class is SO much fun. She has us answer riddles, play little games, and actually proves the psych stuff she teaches. Shes the nicest person ever too. I went out of my way to give someone a perfect review so what does that tell you? Totally worth it. 1000% recommend. Gotta read the book though.

Dr. Duran is amazing! She made the class so much fun to attend and to participate, but also made sure we learned a lot. She goes above and beyond to ensure her students pass the exams. She gives great lectures and assigns movies to watch which are interesting, but also informational. If you want a great psych class, she's the one to take!

I took Dr. Duran's social psyc lab course. She does a great job in class and went into great detail about SPSS which was used often for this class. She is a tough grader and the two main assignments, a research paper and a group presentation, make up most of your grade. She is a really cool person but does make you work for your grade.

Her tests are extremely challenging, fair warning. Hours long tests. There is also a group project BOOOO! Hated that the most. Shes a nice person but her class is quite challenging. Lectures are long. Time consuming class for sure. But if youre interested in the subject you will still enjoy the class for the most part.

Duran creates a safe learning environment for all her students, she is open to any ideas or questions students have. Her class is a lot of fun and she shows a lot of educational movies/videos. I highly recommend Dr. Duran.

Dr. Duran is a welcoming professor that provides a safe environment for students. Her grading is fair, and just like any upper division course you do have to put in the work, but Duran is definitely the type to meet you halfway and help you out. I am very intimidated with research, but Duran and her TA were always willing to answer my questions!
