Very funny and helpful.

I had a great time w/Dr. G. I absolutely loved having her in lab. The SIMPSONs rock, along w/ ACE VENTURA PET DETECTIVE!! :)
Shes really cool. She keeps notes online, so u print em,bring em to class and fill in the blank. Always willing to help if you talk to her
This class is super hard!!! She is funny but her humor does not keep me awake in class...
Really fun. She keeps class interesting and still gets the point across.
very hard class with difficult tests. she is very helpful and go to the review sessions if you can.
Dr. Galbraith ROCKS!!!
awesome for genetics. Makes the mating habits of fruit flies amazingly interesting. Very, very helpful. If you can get her for lecture and lab it's the best. Funny, personable, and easy to approach
I thought I knew a lot about Biology, but i was proven wrong. I did bad on all of the tests, but then again I didn't study as much as i should have. You have to study atleast weekly to get all of the information.
smart, explains things well, always willing to help, VERY funny, very cool
good class, good teacher
challenging but interesting
hard class but learn a lot and fun to listen to
Tough course, but she makes it fun--which is most important. Easier grader than Abler, I heard. Explains info much better, however. Would recommend!! Definitely!
Lectures are no fun... she uses words like 'stuff' and 'junk' to describe things in lecture and then expects you to know what that stuff and junk is on the exam, has a bad sense of humor, and overall is not very good at describing things.
wow, is 4/13 in the same class i am? good class, hard tests but possible if u figure out how to study. great sense of humor, things make sense if u pay attention.
For a class as challenging as BIO 105 can be, she makes lectures fun interesting, and really breaks them up into concepts i could understand. I thought when she used words like "junk" and "stuff" it made the overall concept more inter
Hands down, shes the most personable professor on campus. If you don't understand something in class, it's because you haven't allowed her to give a personalized explination. Don't ask about geese or ostriches, however. She doesn't know the difference.
Great teacher, keeps learning fun.
Absolutely loved this prof! Knows alot about genetics & goes out of her way 2 ensure that her students understand it 2. Always approchable outside of class & very willing 2 answer ?'s. Test r representative of lecture material. A VERY GOOD SENSE OF HU

Absolutely loved this prof! Knows genetics inside and out & goes out of her way to ensure that her students understand it too. Always approachable outside of class & very willing to answer questions. Test are representative of the lecture material & readings. Has a GOOD SENSE OF HUMOR.
She is not a good professor. Very unclear and not approachable. She is rude and conceited!
This prof is extremely difficult, but she has the best sense of humor!!!! If you can get beyond the Red Hair and smelly breath you'll do fine. Just make sure you don't sit in the front row, she spits when she talks too!!! Good luck to all potential geneticists.
I really like how she teaches, she makes things interesting. The class focuses on concepts, not memorization. Beware of the tests though, they're hard! You need to know the material inside and out.
Class was very hard, but overall shes a good teacher. Makes class go by fast, fun professor
She is the BEST BIO 105 teacher out there. I ended up understanding more than any of my friends that had different teachers. Plus, she has a great sense of humor which makes her very enjoyable. There are some boring days, but what can you expect when you study cellular respiration and metabolism!
great lectures, made topics interesting and fun... laughed a lot during class. exams are difficult but always offers review sessions before them that help a lot. totally recomend her..
Very fun prof. Makes class interesting and is young enough to understand what you're going through as a student. Definately reccommend her.
I liked her a lot and she makes class so much more interesting compared to how it could and really wants her students to do well.
Do not be fooled by all the people in Bio 105 that say she is a good teacher. She does not teach in any kind of logical order and jumps from one thing to another. This makes trying to comprehend what she is saying VERY difficult. I feel more dumb and emotionally distraught after her classes. BAD
she is great. holds tons of review sessoins. if you dont understand something, ASK. she is always willing to help. answers emails really fast. :)
If you want a funny teacher take her, if you want to do well and know what you're learning, avoid her. She talks to you in lecture instead of teaching. Her tests are hard since they go way more in depth that the notes.
She is funny, but not the best teacher. She reads off of a powerpoint, that makes it easy to take notes, but the tests are a lot more in depth than the exams.
tests are hard (lots of aplication) but not impossible if you learn the material. bends ovewr backward to help if you ask for ir.
She's awesome, nuf said
Loved her as a teacher, advisor, very helpful, very willing to make time for people, very knoweldgeable and personable. Highly recommended!
she's a great teacher AND a great mom!!!
She is so so so cool. I love her so so so much
she is funny and it's easy to follow because you can print the lectures out. lots of review sessions.
i think that the people who think the tests are "too hard" need to actually study instead of party more. duh. you have to read instead of just taking notes...people are so stupid sometimes. she's an awesome teacher and i would recommend her to anyone!
She makes a already kick ass class kick more ass!!!!!! she rocks!!!
really nice teacher, friendly and funny. Willing to help students do well, but the EXAMS ARE HARD. Metabolism exam = impossible. definetely can't just study powerpoint slide notes for an exam, the tests are way more in depth than the notes. If you're a science major, you'll learn a lot in this class.
lecture often goes off track to talk about issues.
Good stuff! Clear in class most days, funnier than hell, TONS of review sessions, hard tests but really wants students to learn. Can tell she cares.
Very good teacher, but it seems like alot of useless out of class work for such few points.
Seriously awesome! Extra review session every week, funny as hell, almost always clear or at least tries to fix it if she wasn;t. Hard tests, but not bad for a 300 level bio class.
She seems really funny and nice in lecture, but if you go to her office hours, she's not as nice as she seems. It seems hard to believe, but go in for help and you'll understand. She does keep lecture amusing, but the tests are really hard. I consider myself very good at gen & bio, but my grade definately does not reflect my grasp on the material.
I have nothing agains Anne, but I do not like genetics as much as I thought I would. STUDY like she says. Anne is a great teacher, but I am not the apt to her teaching style. She is definitely hilarious and makes everything so funny. You won't fall asleep in her class. Very willing to help you if you need it. I just don't like the subject.
She's an amazing teacher and person... she's full of energy and loves what she teaches, which helps make the class go by a little quicker... it is tough material, but I'd rather have her teaching it than any other professor.
Galbraith is so funny, she keeps things interesting in class.
Galbraith is an awesome teacher as far is bio profs go. She is interesting to listen to in class and keeps things moving. She has tons of ways to help you including review sessions every week and always answers email questions. However, her exams are not easy and she will tell you that straight up; just make sure to study!
everyone loves anne galbraith, awesome prof. great person!
I guess she's funny, but not enough to make me want to go to lecture. It's rumored that ests are intentionally hard to weed out people not serious about genetics. Not her fault at all, but I found out that genetics is definitely not for me. Boring and repetitive stuff.
learned a ton from her! smart. informal atmosphere. fun to listen to. really cares that we learn something. beware of the exams tho, they can be rough as she says.
simply wonderful.
Great Professor!!! She makes class fun, and is great at explaining things. She goes through the material at a good pace - not rushing - she makes sure you know you stuff. She doesn't slack off and run an easy class - but overall I loved her classes!! And I'm not even a Bio major!
Dr. Galbraith is funny, and she makes lab interesting & easy.
Galbraith is extremely informative, but she uses humor to keep the lectures bearable. Definitely take her if you get the chance. She can make a difficult class fun.
The material and tests aren't easy, but you REALLY learn the stuff. She knows what she's talking about and she's really enthusiastic about it. She's hilarious too, makes the class more bearable.
She was funny in labratory. She really knows what she is doing, and she loves it. She knows how students think and how to explain it... She was great... Abler and her are definetly the best.
She's a really funny teacher and you can tell she really loves what she does (who else has a DNA tattoo on their wrist-dedication :) the tests are kind of hard, study! you dont have to go to class, the notes are on line but i would highly recommend it or you def will not do well, theres a lot she adds thats not on the original notes
Really funny! Likes what she does and can explain it pretty well. The class is still hard, and the tests are tricky..some more than others, but she's a really good teacher. I'd recommend taking her! And you don't really need to read out of the book
Great professor! She is extremely helpful and happy to help too! The tests are hard, but it's a tough class. My only complaint is her use of the board - she's all over the place which made my notes unorganized. Overall, definitely take!
Most of genetics is rather boring material (IMO), but Anne did her best to liven the classroom. She is funny and witty. You will find no problems approaching her for concepts you may not understand and get reasonable explanations. Tests in this class are very difficult with a rather high grading curve.
She is a fun teacher but that only goes so far. Terrible notes and leaves you very clueless when thinking what to expect on her exams. Iv'e had much better professors.
Review sessions every week, review sheets that clearly outline what to study. Tests are hard, so you have to work.
For the most part a great lab professor. Very friendly, fun to listen/talk to and engaging. often in her office for help as well. That being said, she is not always a fair grader. marked points off of an assignment and then told me I had no way to know the correct way to do it, yet would not give points back. would take her again though.
Professor Galbraith is the shiz. Genetics is a tough class & she makes it so much better. I do not mind going to her lectures at all because she is fricken hilarious. The whole class is laughing multiple times throughout lecture. She's a genius who is good at teaching too, which isn't always the case. She uses good examples & explains things well.
shes is super funny. I actually enjoyed going to class. She was the first college professor to make me laugh out loud in class on a regular basis. She knows her stuff too and makes it very easy to understand. take notes!
10 homework assignments all semester that are graded based on completion. One creative paper. All take home tests. Information is boring, but the class was easy.
Dr. G is one of my favorite professors! She's a very funny lady and brings a lot of enthusiasm to her lectures. It's very easy to listen tosit through her lectures.
Takes attendance, 10 homework assignments graded on completion. One pass/fail creative writing paper on a given genetic disorder. 3 take home exams and an in-class comprehensive final. She kept lecture interesting, but be ready to put in work on the exams.
If you're a visual learner, do NOT take. She lectures the material, so if you can't keep up, that information is lost. The only thing on her powerpoints are examples from the book, no actual notes or definitions. Practice problems are unhelpful or unrelated to lecture content. Basically expects you to teach yourself.
Dr. G was GREAT! She really cares that you do well in her class, and lets you know exactly what to study to do your absolute best. She really wants you to learn the material, but in a way that you'll remember even after her class, so she makes it fun with great examples and corny jokes. The homework really helps your understanding. Would take again
Dr. Galbraith uses inappropriate, unnecessary humor to try and get students to like her. She uses PowerPoint slides with no words, which would be okay, if it weren't for the fact that everything she talks about in class is vague. Exam prep is unclear. I ended up reading the textbook and it helped a bit. Dr. G is inflexible with personal conflicts.
She's alright, grades are based mostly on tests, which are fairly standard. Gives the equations on tests so you don't need to memorize them, but also has some trivial things on tests that aren't really applicable to real world scenarios. Still a fine teacher though.
Capstone is pretty standard no matter who teaches it, she did fine though, we almost always got out early and she's available to go over questions you might have.
Genetics with her was awesome. Her lectures are hilarious, and she is incredibly helpful during office hours. Her notes on the board can be a little difficult to read sometimes. Exams are tough, but fair, and she will go over them with you if you have questions. Would definitely take her again!
Dr. G is extremely knowledgable, and does her best to make the material understandable for students. Her powerpoints are somewhat vague, but if you attend class, she will go into plenty of detail explaining them. She offers optional weekly review sessions, which are great for asking questions in a smaller group setting.
Probably one of my favorite BIO professors. If you put in effort, shell do everything in her power to help out.
Great lecturer and very helpful if you have any questions outside of class. There's a lot of ways to earn points in the class including take home and in class tests, assignments, attendance, seminars, and a paper. Attendance is mandatory because she writes a lot of the notes on the board. Difficulty was standard for a 300-400 level class.
I absolutely love Anne as a human being, but as a prof, she wasn't for me. Her teaching style was too relaxed for me-she didn't have anything on her slides and she always went on tangents, so it was hard to follow her. Exams were 50% in class and 50% out of class. I would have liked it being one or the other because it was too much stress/work.
Anne Galbraith is by far my favorite professor I have ever had at UWL. She devotes her time to making learning fun and lectures entertaining. She is ALWAYS there to help in her research lab and responds to email very fast . Her class is hard but not impossible if you put the work in and study for the tests. I highly recommend taking her!
Anne Galbraith is one of my favorite professors I've had. She gives really good, but dense, lectures that can be very detail heavy. However, she is really clear about what you need to know for her exams, so nothing is surprising. Her class is mostly exams, but she does have quite a few assignments that help boost your grade.
Dr. G is a gem, TAKE HER! One of my favorite profs at UWL. I was afraid genetics would be one of my more difficult courses but she made this class a breeze! Attend all of the lectures and do the assignments and you will be set for the exams. She tells you exactly what she expects you to know for the exams in her lectures. She is also hilarious!
Anne gives really dense lectures, but she is very clear on what you need to know for the class. Her exams are hard but doable if you put in the work and look at the review guide. The level of work is expected for a 300 level course, but Anne makes it interesting. She is helpful and wants the best for her students. 10/10 would recommend.
This class is hard but manageable. Dr.G is very easy to reach outside of class and more than happy to answer questions.
Dr. G is the best! She is so funny and wants all of her students to succeed. The material is tough but not impossible. 3 unit tests and a final, with bi-weekly short homework assignments. Definitely choose Dr. G if given the chance. I'm taking her again next semester in BIO 466.
I really liked Professor Gabraith! I had her for the bio-tech section of FYS 100 and I really enjoyed the class. I liked the topics that were covered, I liked how discussion was encouraged and the class was super easy, which is always a plus!
Professor Galbraith is super nice and approachable. She makes lectures exciting and interesting, and she is always very straightforward about what going to be on exams. She gives a decent amount of assignments that can boost your grade. She's the best bio professor I've had so far at UWL. Take her if you can!!
Dr. Galbraith is a wonderful, funny person, but her teaching is just OK. She is approachable but a little scattered and can be a pretty tough grader. She doesn't give super great feedback on assignments or in labs, so just make sure you talk to her directly if you have any questions/concerns.
I absolutely love Dr. G! She is hilarious and keeps it real. She's the type of professor I would not be embarrassed to see outside of class. She is inspiring as a woman in STEM. She truly cares about her students and wants the best for you. All praise for Dr. G.
I love Dr. G, she is so funny, relatable, and really evidently cares about her students and their success. I had her for FYS- Women in STEM, and also got to know her outside of class through my LLC. Top-notch professor and human, and honored to know her! I definitely recommend taking a course with her, on any level.
Dr. G is a hoot and her sense of humor makes lecture entertaining. Most exams are take home and she's a fair grader. Would recommend taking her!
Galbraith is hilarious and her canvas page is neatly set up, much is a lot more than what I can say for other professors. Overall I am very glad I took this class with her and she made the experience a lot more bearable. Don't let the fact that lecture slides are posted make you skip; It's hard to understand with her translating it for you.
I only had her for FYS so I don't really know her true teaching style, but I enjoyed her for the time being. She is very knowledgeable and real. She will speak the facts and treat your like an adult. She is really inspiring as a woman in STEM. She would tell really funny stories. I hope to have her again in one of my major classes.
Dr. Galbraith is down to Earth and relatable. She made the lectures easy to understand and was very transparent about what we needed to understand. She was also very helpful outside of class for extra help.
Dr. Galbraith really cares about genetics and she makes it fun and puts her fun personality into lectures!
Dr. G made Women in STEM First Year Seminar so fun and valuable. Assignments were interesting and not too busy-work heavy. You're gonna have a blast in this class!
Such a funny and caring professor. Really cares about her students and seeing you succeed. Expectations were clear and gave feedback on all group assignments. You complete group assignments, a fly paper, a group presentation, and then given lab performance points. Had 3 unit exams that were straightforward and told what to study for. Take her!
She was very very fun and interesting to listen to. Made FYS very fun. Not hard at all, really easy A.
Dr. G makes genetics fun with her engaging lectures and approachable personality. The course material is challenging but manageable. unstuck AI and study groups helped me stay on top of the content. Definitely take this class if you can!
She is very entertaining and posts lectures online for you to watch. Exams are not to bad and she gives you credit where she can. Highly recommend.
I love Dr. G! She is super funny and entertaining! If you are in this FYS class, you will have a lot of fun. I enjoyed the films, readings, scientists, and presentations. No final and the quizzes were relatively easy as long as you put in 10-30 mins of studying the night before.
Easiest class ever, she is so funny, she will not fail you no matter what.
I looked forward to this class every week! She was so funny, and I loved being in her class
