hard course, but she's ok
great teacher, very helpful and clear...wish i passed the course though!
course was a b!tch. Good thing she wasn't
She's the best teacher ever! So friendly and helpful!
a killer course, the smartest fin 300 prof
She makes the material easier to understand
Best Prof ever! Will do anything for her students. Incredibly smart and helpful.
Great prof, friendly but hard to learn in her class... I keep staring at her....
Hard to follow lectures b/c talks to fast, but will do one-on-one for xtra help.
She's a hot teacher therefore i couldnt focus on her lectures
great prof, HARD course!
unorganized teaching style doesn't help, no point going to class
not a bad teacher , does alot of examples
great prof. hot :D extremely hard course :(
confused - does not always know what she is doing
great prof. do ur hw, u'll be fine.
Best finance prof. I ever met- absolutely amazing.
good prof. I am bad at math, but got a B. She makes you understand
Easy to follow. Tests are reasonable and based on what was covered. Exc Prof.
The first class all i gould do was stare down her shirt
BEST EVER... make sure you have her for finance!
her & mike deserve awards! best profs! HARD course. do your work!
unorganized, inconsistent with other class (bell curve marks)
Tough class, but the best prof!
Hard course, but great prof - she is a must have for this course
Hard course, but she does a lot of examples. Must have for this course
cool, can help u to get thru FIN,better than rest in FIN dept
very good teacher and very organized
I wasn't in her class.....but once i came to when lecture...i started showing up
hard course but best prof in fin dept!!
Best prof at Ryerson... very intelligent and extremely helpful too!
Excellent method of teaching... makes the hardest stuff so easy to understand
Very clear makes sure the class fully understands. A must if u suck at finance
If you have to take this hellish course, this is the teacher to have!
I just love her. she is super and beautiful
She's usually a good teacher but in this class, she barely teaches
she was good when she was there.....tooo bad that was only for about half of the time!
A very organized and efficient prof. Actually teaches the material. Ihate Finance but she actually made it understandable.
I felt like I was being punished for being a college transfer in her class. I am sorry for not having to take Fin300 but seeing that you only had 20 out of 100 students that actually wrote your final you would think you could offer a little refresher.
What more do you want from her. She is a smart and sexy lady. Enough said.
If you're taking this course, then for sure take her. Mike doesn't even compare. She's very clear and helpful, you will do well if you go to class and practice problem sets.
Good teacher. Easy A. Who put the hot rating though? u crazy?
This class is great, it's not that hard. I hear Anderson's class is a little more difficult because he teaches from slides. I agree, easy A.
i don't know about beautiful, but i'm not too smart and she got me through the course with a B-. explains well but you have to go to class and know your ****.
Teaches very well. May go through material quickly sometimes but don't hestitate to slow her down. She will continuely push you to do your work but unfortunately she doesn't put much time aside to assist students outside of class.
Rushes through material but will always stop to explain things if you ask her to. Great for extra help....but she's busy so make an appointment. SOOOO nice, great prof....!!
If I can get B+ in finance, this prof knows how to teach. Just do all the works she assigns and you will understand everything and ace this course.
Nice personable person, she'll test you though!
What kind of mid-term was that?! She the exact opposite in what everyone says here. It would help if she actually taught the course and not fake injury to make her husband come and teach.
Pray that she doesn't teah fin711. She rushes through the course and doesn't care if she teaches something or not. It seems like she cares more about getting pregnant then doing her freak'n job. She doesn't care, get out of her course if you can.
Really nice lady, just don't expect to get your midterm (or any other grades) back before the final - and that's with only one kid. What's gonna happen with the new one on the way?!?
How is it fair that we have all these strict deadlines but she has none? This is totally unprofessional and shows a total lack of respect for students.
easy course but she makes it hard!!!
I don't know why this woman would get really good ratings...........she rushes through material and is never there at office hours. She's too busy trying to get some computer lab thing ready when she should be really looking after her classes
She sucks!
Certainly has her fav's in each class. I find her very lazy and unorganized. However, this is my 1st time having her, so Im not sure if this may be due 2 her pregnancy or not. Never goes over ANY examples in class, making test prep'tn very difficult.
Nice lady but just doesn't teach.Doesn't do enough examples in class, rushed through the material which makes it hard to study since there is no textbook. Her pregnancy is getting in the way of us getting a good grade.Takes her precious time marking!!!!!!!!
She is a good teacher but her priorities have shifted towards her family, which is totally understandable because of her two kids. Unfortunatly since this it is obvious that it is tough for her to juggle both teaching and family..
I heard that she was a wicked-good teacher back when she had no children. Clearly her priorities now are with her kids, which is understandable, but sucks for us students. Please take a leave of absence Anne. You need one.
The worst teacher I have had at Ryerson. She just keeps checking the clock to make sure she isnt in class for more than 90 minutes. Thats all she is interested in is getting out as fast as possible. I paid for a full course not a half course!
WOW!! I like this class...I don't know how well I'm doing yet because she hasn't marked anything yet...Oh well, I hope I'm not going into the final today with a 30%!!
She is never in her office at her stated office hour times. Also, she rushes through material and thinks that students will know the material as good as her. She isn't a professor that is concern about the development of her students.
very nice and smart lady but too busy to teach. it takes her a long time to mark the assignments and tests so u dont know what your going in the exam with.
very nice professor, but she doesn't have time to teach, half of her classes were taught by her husband. she is not organized, it took her over a month to mark the test
Thanks Anne for NEVER returning any class work(i.e tests, problem sets, assignments). It's really helpful to know none of your marks!I'm wondering what happened to the class evaluation that was suppose to be filled out by students, the class never got it!!!
Please quit teaching. Did you not notice that you are a bad teacher. I swear Ryerson is like the WB star search. Always looking for the worst teachers to fill there classes. Another Ryerson winner. Oh and by the way. She was crappy before her kids.
Anne is a very nice person outside of class, but once she's teaching, she rushes through material, doesn't respond to student emails, and makes her husband teach all the classes. I nothing against the both of them, but cmon she's gotta cleanup her act!
Taught pretty clear for an advanced class WHEN she was there ( 4 out of 13 lectures).. Her pesonal life seems to be taking up too much time leaving little time for assignments, returning student e-mails and teaching. BUT when she does teach she is great.
Anne your job is to teach your students. Its called a job. Well at least you get paid to take care of your kids at home. Jokes on Ryerson and your students I guess.
Okay tell me honestly, does anybody in the class know what is going? I don't think so. If you're on maternity leave, it means you're at home so don't come to school, let Mike teach, at least he does.
ANNE get your**** together. Your great when your there, but your never there!! TEACH and explain the material, that's what we students are there for....
horrible, never in class to teach, very hard to follow. u dont know what is expected of you or what to study for the tests and exams. confusing, never there for extra help. doesnt answer emails. avoid her classes by all means.
I got an A+ in her classes without knowing anything. Bonus for me for my GPA but what's the use if I didn't learn anything?
I really only maybe 3 to 5 people in both classes that knew exactly what was going on. The trading labs are cool but no one knows what they are doing majority of the time. If you the type of person who likes direction in your class, then drop this class 'cause you won't get any!
Very busy prof. But a very good prof (when she makes it to class) only complaint is she is a vary hard prof to get a hold of.
I wish I remembered what Anna looked like... Seeing that she was never in class I would think that Mike was in fact my teacher. He is such a piece of work himself. I feel I could get a better education making fries at Mcdonalds. You both should quit
just copy every word she sais, cause it might pop up in the midterm and exam. really read your readings memorize them to get you ready for the test and exam, plus if you don't understand FTS software just ask her after class cause if you don't you are screwed for the midterm. just a heads up.
absolutely horrible. dont take her class. u wont do well. no one will.
Complete waste of time. Nothing was learned, except for a lesson on how a professor can have complete disregard for any of her responsibilities, and earn zero respect... but somehow still have one of the most blatent superiority complexes I've ever had the misfortune of ecountering. I could have learned more by watching someone cook french fries
Posts like the ones about this prof make me wonder about this site-Anne missed the first class only. She taught every class,I understand her lectures:uses real-life examples, insightful, solves problems step by step, makes sure everybody understands; This site misleads people:this is the second prof I got wrong advice for here. Post the truth people!
Buddy the stuff before you is the truth. She sucks at harder and more useful courses that actual require thought. FIN300 can be taught by any prof
Thanks for the post, buddy.I kind of was disappointed when she missed the review and left us alone with all the 301 material(i consider a review and some harder problems would have given a clear overview in the end). Wanted to take 401 with her but I should reconsider if she sucks at higher levels.
Anne is very knowledgable and easy to follow in class.
She is very tough and gives no guidance. She expects you to do everything on your own, and all the class complaints. But she does not care. I would advise her to be friendly to students so that they're not afraid to ask her question. She wasn't much of help after all.
She does not teach step my step. No answers are given to you so you have to figure it out all by yourself. No guidance on the test. Whatever mentioned in class, even if for 10 sec will show up on the exam, and you'll fail badly. She is the slowest professor in replying emails. She is a good person, though. But not a great teacher.
anne inglis SUCKS.....period!She got her students to teach, we knew more about the course material then she did....horrible, she should NOT be a 4th year finance prof at any school...send her to fin300 please!
I think i lost knowledge rather than gaining anyhting.... sorry people but you must avoid this woman at all costs if you have her for an upper level finance course. I would rather learn finance from an arts teacher than to have Anne teach me.
I liked her for FIN300- but she was horrible for FIN401:You are on your own,and final exemplified her typical Don't care attitude. After we learned and did book questions on our own, final had a hard case from first part material.Final did NOT test our knowledge, confusing questions, some from material not included in course.Take her for300,NOT 401!
Tell you what, this teacher is very good, one of the best teacher at the school. If you have head on your shoulders you will pass this class. The class has a lot of material that teaches the concept of "uncertainty" in financial realm, that is why many don't like it. Y.
The biggest uncertainty we had was about what she will put on the test. Its not about difficulty of material or having to think and problem solve, its about being able to look at the most stupid material she can ask, like listing the countries that have private bourses, I don't like useless questions...BUT overall I did well...So THANK YOU ANNE :)
Anne is a good person, but she doesn't know how to explain herself. She is very unclear with what she wants and she is no help with the cases she gives. Some of her test question are really pointless, and some test questions she never even taught in class. Who the hell remembers the formula for standard deviation?
She doesn’t reply emails, doesn’t check the assignments, doesn’t teach the readings, doesn’t help in the cases, and VERY unclear about what she wants!
Anne might be a nice lady, but she is lousy at explaining things or teaching. She plays favourites, she doesnt answer emails, she doesnt take up work, she doesnt explain things well....what more can i say...the class was interesting, but the teaching was awful...im not kidding!
Most of the people here dont know what they are talking about. Anne Inglis is probably the best professor for finance. Dont blame her becuase you people didnt want to study. You have to work in the class obviously, she makes it so much easier to do so. Answers questions clearly, explains all course material well. Wonderful prof.

If you like investments you will most likely enjoy Anne's classes. She is not the ordinary boring easy marks Ayce Yuce or MacKiness type of prof. So if you want to learn and have the ability to work independently (readings and excel spreadsheets) Anne will help you. But if you like to be spoon fed avoid her classes and consider switching major
Don't believe most of the comments about Anne. She is a great prof who makes difficult concepts as easy to understand as possible. And don't depend on the textbook - GO TO CLASS to find out what you need to know. If you want to succeed, copy down example problems and their solutions exactly the way she does them - you'll need these for the exam.
Only had this instructor when she was subbing for Mike. Really funny and knowledgeable pair. The course is lots of work but both instructors have a great way of presenting the concepts in a down-to-earth and realistic manner.
got very dissapointed with her.... she would teach 1 hour out of 3 hours lecture and let us go home. had to study everything from the book... lecture before the midterm was like 40 minutes long - no rehersal, no examples. she did not even tell us the test format. does not care about her class at all!
unorganized prof. she cancelled 2 8AM classes and then rushed through the material, very basic stuff only. doesn't work out any problems, just a lot of talk. no review for exams, no extra help and classes always end early. 2 minute quizzes of the material she is teaching that morning. tests are long and hard. not recommended
I liked her. Very helpful with questions, nice self-deprecating sense of humor. The midterm was pretty fair and i hope the exam will be the same way. And one good thing is that she always makes sure ppl are clear on whats going on by asking the class if they have any questions periodically. No complaints, enjoying the class so far.
It was an 8 am class and i fell asleep like everytime. Yet she still managed to get in this stuff in my head. She is funny, charming, very approachable and will give you so much useful info., she even admitted most of the stuff in this course is useless. I also fell inlove with her, if only she was younger and not married, she'll never know me :(
Go to every class, do the problems in the book more than once and you should be alright. I thought the way she did the hard chapters (options and capital structure) were very well taught and by the end i was almost an expert. Also read the book since she can be too fast at times.worst part was pop quizes. Sum which were on the lecture on the sameda
Great teacher and to the guy that is surprised that the formula for standard deviation was on a finance exam all I can say is what is wrong with you? The people that have a problem are just lazy bums that complain if they don't do well. Great attitude, sweet demeanor, and easy on the eys. I owe my CFA in large part to Anne's class!
