I always wondered why everyone recommended this teacher. Now I know why. She's the most caring teacher on campus. Our entire class got A's. Attendence is mandatory but she allows you to make up your speeches. No written tests or final exam!Such a sweetheart. If you dont recieve an A you must not have showed up to class. <3 <3 <3 <3 Love her!

Amazing teacher! Always helped if you needed it. No assignments due. We did a lot of really fun exercises in class. Speeches were about whatever we felt like talking about. Very fair and easy grading. Very nice teacher. Attendance is a must though. If you miss more then 2 classes you get dropped. Amazing experience!

Prof. "J", as she likes to be called, was one of th best College Prof. I have ever have. She's intelligent,warm, funny, motherly, and caring. The class is NO JOKE! 6 week speech class, and you move FAST!! Lots of information slammed down your throats and then it's speech after speech after speech. 3 in all, 10-15 minutes each. I loved it.

Prof J is fabulous! She gets the class to interact and a great way to learn by play. Enjoyable and recommend her highly! This was a great learning environment.

Prof. J is a decent professor. She is obsessed with New York and tells the class often she'd rather be there than here. (If that's the case, why doesn't she go?!) If you don't follow her speech method you don't pass. Attendance is mandatory as each student has to review the speakers' speech technique. Overall I would probably recommend another prof

I did not want to take speech at all and I was not thrilled at the beginning of this semester. However, Prof J pulled us together and made us work together and now I think we are like a big family. What Prof J does works, and I would recommend her in a heartbeat. No final,didn't use the book. All I can say is Thanks Prof J.

I hate presenting in front classes, and this is what this is. She doesn't give tests on things in the book, she treats it as a performance course. She gives techniques you'll be using in real life. Highly recommend this teacher!

This was by far my favorite class I have ever had. Prof. J is the best teacher. She gives you so many helpful tips for presenting and if you do everything she tells you to do when presenting your speech, you will get an A. Attendance is mandatory, but you will enjoy going to the class. I am so sad this class is over :(

I found the grading to be rather harsh. She is very specific about how she wants the speeches to be formatted, any deviation is points off your grade. If you are only taking this because it is a required course I would recommend choosing another prof. Only take her if you are serious about the subject

If you attend class,participate,do your speeches the way she wants then you will be fine. If you are always late and come to class everyones in a while then dont even bother.if you get a bad grade then you did not come to class. one of my best teachers yet. compassion for what she does and also has empathy and cares!!

There were three speaches. First an informative speech, then a persuasive speech, and then a Final which could be whatever. There was no written final at the end. The third speech was the final. If you don't like to speak in front of people, you might not like this class but it is required for an AA.Great teacher

I didn't realize how much I would miss this professor until the new term started, and now it is Wednesday and I don't have her class to attend tonight. I am bummed. It was the best course ever.

Great instructor. Learned a lot. Do not miss a class. She flips out. Only 3 speeches required where 4 are required by other instructors. Easy class, just pick a good topic. She loves the BeeGees!

Prof. J. is a wonderful teacher. She will teach you skills that you will benefit from for the rest of your life. If your the type of student who misses class often, don't take her class. Follow her guidelines and you will do fine. No textbook required and no test. Grade is based on three speeches and your class participation.

Professor J is so compassionate and kind. She really encourages students to do well. I wasn't thrilled about taking this class, but Professor J made it fun and interesting and I am no longer afraid of public speaking! I will miss this class and her dearly.

I don't know how people can write that this class was easy. I worked my butt off, It was easy because the professor is amazing and maeks it seem easy. She is the best.

Def. have to be there all the time, or else she will drop you - but for a good reason because you really do learn from her lectures and other peers speeches. Her personality can be really strong and scary at first because she doesn't play games, but once the year gets rolling you become a family and she shows that she truly cares. I loved her.

I seriously LOVE prof J. She is the nicest, most fun, laid back teacher I've ever had. She makes the class so enjoyable and keeps you interested. She's silly and makes jokes and always has fun! I leave the class everyday with a smile on my face. Take her class, you won't regret it!!

I hated public speaking prior to the class, but she made this class great. She was very helpful and gave the right type of information that students could use to improve. I would recommend her for SPC 1608 any day. she is amazing.

Professor J was awesome, I took this during summer A in six weeks which was pretty intense but she teaches you everything you need to know. She likes to talk a lot, get her on the subject of the Bee Gees and you'll get an A. Great class! I ended up enjoying Speech!

I was terrified to take this class, but Prof J. is very passionate about her subject, and knows everything there is to know about speech. Very high energy lady, which is great for keeping students attention. Hated to subject before, however, this class ended up being my favorite class I have taken so far.

Loved Professor J, she is such an incredible teacher. She critiques you on your speeches, even though it may hurt your feelings, everything she tells you is so you can improve and get better. I was terrified to take the class at first. To my surprise I loved and enjoyed every minute of it. I haven't met a teacher that is that passionate about her class and her students. She helped everyone in class to open up to who they are. She gave excellent examples and was always helpful. I will always recommend her!

Professor J is the Best.I saved this class for last I hate talking to groups of people. You become friends with your class mates. She is a very easy grader if you just do your speeches there is only 3 speeches most classes have 10 take her she is GREAT!

She's really energetic and she make the 3 hours class not so bored. She's just strict when it's come time for presentation. But over all she a good teacher. I'm scare of speaking to audience but her class help a lot . She's a cool teacher.

Mrs.J was the best professor I've had yet. At first I was skeptical and didn't like her AT ALL. But when it came time to do speeches, I realized how much I had improved and you become family with the people in your class. HIGHLY recommend her.

she really is a great teacher. i hate talking in front of a group but she really makes you feel comfortable and you interact with the class the whole semester which helped. shes just strict on attendance and a little critical of the speeches but in a good way. if your scared of doing speech take her because she will help you be calm and do well.

Awesome teacher! Super easy. Just make sure you rehearse, have enough critique sheets on you before class, and are on time or early during finals. She's super sweet, but a little obsessed with the Bee Gees lol.

She was the best teacher that I have ever had! I was dreading taking a speech class but she made it so comfortable from day 1! By the end I was actually enjoying giving speeches! I want to take another class taught by her! You can tell that she loves teaching!

Prof. J.'s class was very easy and relatively painless for a speech class. She doesn't ever use the textbook. Everyone in the class presented 3 speeches - 2 10 minute and one 20 minute speech. That was all the homework. Her critiques are fair. Awesome class!

Tooke her in the summer. I was so afraid to take spc but proj J helped me get through that. I actually ended up giving good speeches. Very approachable. Our class was a great group which made the class more interesting. Wish I couldve taken it in a 16 week semester. If you want to have fun and get an A, take prof j!

Professor Jakowenko is awesome! The only thing that you have to do is to write your 3 speeches. She tells you things straight how they are. I would take the class again!

She assigned us three speeches for the semester, two around 10 minutes, and one around 20 minutes. As long as your a somewhat competent speaker, you'll pass with ease. Our lowest grade in the class was a low B. You do need to go to class, as she takes attendance seriously. Don't get the textbook! She told us on the first day she doesn't use it!

She makes you feel very comfortable and is an easy grader. She definitely teaches you what you need to know about the basics of speaking. Would definitely take again!

What can I saw? The BEST professor ever! She is serious about and cares about you and wants you to improve on your speaking skills. At first I was uneasy about speech, but after this class, I felt a lot more confident in speaking. You will have to work for your grade, but she will help you achieve the best grade. I recommend her 1000%.

I waited till the very last minute to take speech do to anxiety. Glad i chose her after reading the reviews. Had her for a 6 wk course and was anxious the first couple weeks but she makes you interact with everyone so you get to know everyone and more comfortable and it helps. I still hated presenting but it seemed somewhat easier.

This professor is really thorough. She knows how to teach public speaking and does a great job at it. Attendance is mandatory, and do not try to sign up for the class late as she will not allow you in class. Their are three presentations and that is it.

This class was the best class I have ever taken at SCF. I highly recommend her. She truly encourages everyone to talk and connect with their classmates. I absolutely love her and wish there were more professors like her.

This is probably the best professor at the school and I would recommend her to anyone that needs this course. She encourages an all-inclusive class and makes public speaking less stressful. As long as you prepare for your speech and follow her guidelines you'll get a good grade.

I took this class Fall 2015 semester, and was terrified of having to take speech (like most students.) Prof. J made everyone feel comfortable and included, and promoted students getting to know each other so that we weren't so nervous when presenting. The only negative is that she talks about her life A LOT. For at least an hour per class.

She is an amazing professor! I absolutely loved her class. The whole class got extremely close and were always supporting each other. She is very helpful whenever you need it and even lets you come to class early and practice presenting (even gives you good advice.) If you had making speeches, shes a great professor to take!

Awesome teacher!! Very well liked, She gives out her personal Email for any questions and answers them right away. Her feedback from speeches are awesome. I took her for Summer A, which is an accelerated course. She packed in a lot of helpful information, to help us succeed!

She was hands down one of my favorite professors!She explains all of her slides and gives you great tips and and feedback. Loves it when you put those tips into practice during your speeches. She is very openminded when it comes to speech topics and in my opinion a total sweetheart. It's a little hard to get a grade higher than 95 but it's possible

Great profesor! I'm usually not conmfortable in front of people and professor J. made it very easy. She gives helpful tips to do a great speech and to feel good about it. She does talks a lot about all types of topics but most of the time it's interesting. It's not easy to get a A+ but if you fallow what she says you will get it. Great class!!!

Professor J is an amazing teacher. She is very fair to everyone. My point of view had changed because of her class. My biggest fear was speaking in front of people, but it changed after I took her class. All I can advice is take her class and you will see how amazing she is. You will will be a good speaker. Please take her class.

Prof J. forces you to get to know your classmates. At first, it seems terrible but it really makes it easy to give your speeches. There are 3 speeches overall and 1 of them is the final. The major criticism I have is participation definitely matters but she forgets who participates and gives random grades and when asked about it can be very rude.

She is passionate about speeches, no textbook, gave all of the necessary material through powerpoint and other handouts. You MUST attend class every day, and only have to give 3 speeches.

I absolutely hate formally speaking in front of people but Mrs. J makes it easy. There is no homework to sidetrack you. I passed this class easily, but be forewarned do not miss class, come in late, forget a critique sheet or forget to print out your trail guide. As long as your not a slacker you'll be fine, and if you are a slacker, good luck.

Professor J has a lot of experience in her field of study. She will share her knowledge and make sure the students understand. I took this course over the summer and it was fun.
