she is very boring and doesnt help whatsoever

I'll put it this way, the semester began with 35 students and ended with 7. It was difficult to understand what she expected you to know for the exams and her quizzes were out of left field. Take someone else!

Do not take this instructor! Her quizzes and exams are unreasonably tricky. I am a straight A student in math and always prepared, but it's not possible to prepare for her tricks. I've never experienced anyone so awful.

She is so crazy. She gives you explames of problems to work on adn then the test is alwasy the opposite of what she teaches you. the tests adn homework is extremely hard. dont take her unless you already took calaulus, becuase you won't pass the class even if you study super hard.

HOLY ZOMBIE JESUS!!!!!! Why would any one give this foul teacher tenure i have no idea? She is the worst teacher i have ever had. She is no help what so ever in class with home work or otherwise. I would take the black death over Dr. Krause's class any day. Avoid like the plauge.

ive never seen so many 1/10' quizzes in a semester then in this class. her hw is retarded and refuses to explain what i dont get her test are impossible to do even wth a graphin calculator. she makes up the dumbest excuses ever. one student had to take his midterm over because she LOST his test when it flew out da window of her car on 280. f this!!

this prof is not good. mistakes on her final made problems insolvable, and pple didnt finish bc we were rechecking our calcs.didnt give back hmwks in time for final. cancelled office hrs b4 final for no apparent reason (she wasnt sick). lost 2 of my own hmwks that i still dont know what i got on.. worst math teacher yet encountered.

She is the worst math teacher ever..I didn't believe everyone and try it for myself and end up withdrawing from her class. she explains to herself. First you have to take a pre test to see how good you are at math...she base this on your chance for those on the waitlist..though she is pretty nice and smart at math but she just can't teach at all

oh. my. god. I thought teachers this bad were a myth. I have never had a professor half as bad as this lady in 2 and a half years of college. She's so unorganized, doesn't put online assignments up until practically hours before they're due because "they're so hard to prepare." I don't even know what more I can say about her-- HEED THIS WARNING!

If you can help it, don't take this instructor. I probably e-mailed her 5 times during the semester, never replied once. We never got a single assignment graded and returned to us, nor any indication of how we were doing in the class. Her lectures were boring and had little to do with the topic of the class. Just stay away, trust me.

Anne Krause is a well meaning Calculus professor who loves her field and expects everyone else to love it too. Her tests are way too hard - She often tests on concepts that are vaguely covered in class or simply never mentioned before. If you LOVE math, she's the professor for you, otherwise, avoid Anne Krause at all costs. I'm serious.

DO NOT TAKE her shes is probably the worst teacher alive.... avoid her.... she grades her homework on neatness and even if u gt everythin right, she'll take points off (upto 50%) for neatness... i hv her 4 calc and shes just the worst

If you can help not taking this professor i would advise it. She is a nice person and has good intentions but she is lazy forgetful. I was a decent math student and im barely pulling a B- in her class. thats not bad but still i had to work my ass off for a B- when with the work i have done so far would have gotten me an A with any other professor

Tenured Tard. Find one comment in these pages that has a slightly positive spin - I bet you you cannot. This is because she is the worst teacher. The fact that she has tenure is unbelievable. For those who choose this teacher after multiple warnings, I would love to meet you half way through the semester so I can point and laugh at you myself.

I was skeptical about the reviews I read on Rate my professor since a few badly rated teacher I took turned out not so bad. However when it came time to take her class it was ridiculous. Class average on the first test was a >50. She basically rambles on all class while everyone is confused and fails to explain anything. seriously DONT TAKE HER!!!

I'm not a math person, but even if you're a whiz, she's incomprehensible. I got so frustrated at one point, I was almost in tears. Even when people ask her specific questions, she goes off on tangents about things no one mentioned. She gives no background info either. The homework and exams rarely fit with the book.

She just makes a really easy class complicated. She doesn't really care anyway, only half of her students intend classes because she's useless. I had to learn everything from the book. Choose another teacher.

WORST MATH TEACHER EVER! I am usually good at math; I took her class last semester & failed. Her lectures were hard to understand & notes very confusing. Instead of answering the questions I would ask, she'd repeat something useless that she already said. I took stats again this semester with a diff teacher & got an A. DONT TAKE HER CLASS!!!!

If you're taking Krause right now, i recommend dropping this class and pick another teacher! I was glad I dropped it after the 3rd week of taking her, she was really not passionate teaching Calculus. Everyone dragged on w/ her, and it was so boring. I didn't learn anything, except just reviewed from what I learned in highschool i <3 math too wtf :P

I went into this course thinking I was good at math. I disregarded every comment about her b/c I was sure I would be able to do it. Really, LISTEN TO US! DO NOT TAKE HER! She is AWFUL! Class is not mandatory, and honestly it's a big waste of time b/c I never understood anything she was saying. I'm not sure if its the material, or if its just her...

If there ever were an argument for outlawing tenure, Krause would be it. Homework and tests are unbelievably hard; only 5 passed the first midterm which was "easy," according to her. She doesn't get the problem is her ineffective teaching, not the students. What a disgrace to the university. DO NOT take this class, unless you're a masochist.

She is no help at all! Im in class with the person who rated before me and I agree with her 100%! Ive never had a problem with math and now i dont know what todo with the assignments. This is the first math class I needed to study and i still dont understand the material. Her sample midterms look nothing like her actual midterms. Dont take da class

For future math students taking any math at SFSU, I implore you to switch to a different professor. She is one of the few professors to avoid. I find the teacher saying that 60% of the class ALWAYS fail her class is bull.

Ms. Krause is the worst teacher I have ever had in any subject, hands down. She earned this title because she enjoys doing the math problems on the board and not explaining what she is doing. She may appear to be helpful, but her unique odor makes it really hard to concentrate when in close proximity. Basically she shouldn't teach.

where do i begin.? 1st of all, if math isnt ur best subject i dont reccomend this class. Krause is a "abstract" instructor, so expects u to imagine problems & examples. 2nd she isnt very good at explaining her processes. she also tends to leave huge gaps of info out in her examples such as formulas! &its not worth askin ???s, she gets flustered.

This woman is seriously a travesty to the teaching community. Completely unhelpful and oblivious to her inability to teach well. I've never had a math teacher who forgets how to solve her own examples problems that she made up during the middle of class. Do not take her class if you can avoid it, you will leave feeling angry and uneducated.

I wish I would have thought to withdraw from this class because I'm almost certainly going to fail. Horrible teacher. Assumes that everyone is in her brain and knows what she's doing, even when she doesn't. Always late. Forgets what she's doing. Doesn't answer questions. Tests always have things that have not been covered. Avoid this teacher!

Worst teacher I have ever had. My roommate and I were so lost we didn't even attend the final. Her problem is she doesn't think she sucks. She assumes everyone already knows what she is teaching. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. (and she smells).

Krause is a terrible teacher. She is not helpful--all she does in class are multiple problems on the board and assumes you will teach yourself. Do not take this class.

Please, PLEASE, do not take this class. You can't understand anything she teaches and it is impossible to do well. I have had far greater teachers in high school, and actually e-mailed them for they actually responded to my questions. All in all, do NOT take this course from her.

I hate rating teachers poorly but this class was my most dreaded class of the semester. Stats is not a difficult subject, but I struggled all semester. 10% of our grade was attendance based, but she took attendance 6 times. The only reason I passed the class was a weeklong cram session before the final with people who weren't in her class.

She is one of the worst teachers i have ever taken.In my class I was one of the few people who tried to get her to answer question, but when I did so she had an attitude.A few of my questions she just gave me a look and avoided it.Her smell made it REALLY hard to concentrate.I do not know how she did not smell herself.An ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE teacher

She is the worst professor I have ever had. Can not follow the syllabus to save her life. Absolutely can not present in a manor that is conducive to learning. She was not helpful whatsoever. Her class was not informative nor does she give you a clue on how to solve the ridiculous homework problems. She loses your work and will not respond to your emails. She is a joke, loses hw, never returns hw, test is nothing like sample test, wasted 3 months and then assigned 80% of hw and grades in the last two weeks, no communication, never returned emails, this teacher is a prime example why our education system is failing, please get red of her, SFSU is a worse school because of her. Doesn't give you enough time to absorb the info before moving on to a new topic, unhelpful, looks at you like you're stupid, never returns emails, lazy to give more exams to balance your grade instead bases your grades on 3 things. 2 midterms & 1 final. Unwilling to help during office hours, AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

She has no idea how to each or even a connection to her students. She never emails back and gets mad when you ask questions. The midterm had questions on it that were trick questions.

Not recommended to take this course. I only take this class because it fits my schedule, thinking that if I try my best, I can do it. But unfortunately it's not. She gave online hw everyday include weekend plus extra hw to turn in class. Her lecture mostly example, she solves the problem quickly by herself without explaining how she gets the answer

People,People...This class is not an easy A class because the way she makes the test are not reasonable due to 1) The excessive amount of questions you cannot complete on time 2) The things you were taught are not the right way taught by her.3) Problems are over complicated ver of the book Only good this is the failing rate is low due to her curve.

This the worst teacher I have ever seen. She often spends 3/4 of the time trying to figure out how she messed up the examp prob on the board. She will often spend 15-20 mins on 1 prob, then give us 10 probs on the test and expect us to do it in an hr. No partial credit on the tests or hw. This is a class where you have to teach yourself to pass

Anne Krause is really a sweet woman, but this class is a disaster. PLEASE DO NOT ADD! I added this class without prior knowledge to Calc1 and within the first week of school I fell so behind. I managed to teach myself a few things but since she is so unorganized I could never follow anything she taught in class. I failed her class -.-

I have never contributed to thi ssite before but now I feel I must. Professor Kraus seems like a nice person. She is elderly and has mobility problems which causes her to be late to class often. Her lectures are confusing, assignments are ignored until the last moment, then she assigns a mountain all at once. Her tests are insanly hard! AVOID!

Just not a good teacher. I passed, but just barely and did not make a high enough grade to move on. I retook the class at another school and got an A. I hate to say it, but I would avoid here if at all possible.

Professor Krause is a tough professor. Expect a quiz in class EVERY SINGLE DAY. She doesn't know how to teach and you won't learn anything unless you already have an understanding in the subject at hand. Worst professor I have has so far. Started off the semester using the wrong edition to the book. She figured this out a few weeks into the semester and re-assigned all the homework we had already done. Test are hard, lectures are confusing and not helpful. Not only the worst math teacher, but worst teacher I have ever had. This professor does NOT know how to teach. She mumbles to herself in class. Will not answer questions directly. Will NOT respond to emails. Goes thru 2 to 3 sections a day and expects you to be an expert immediately. Avoid her at all cost or prepare to teach yourself calc. HORRIBLE

AWFUL!! Takes off points on homework and tests for no reason. Gives quizzes everyday and never tells you the topics ahead of time. Takes forever to grade. Gives way too many questions and not enough time to do them. Homework takes days. Doesn't let you use calculators on tests. Gives no feedback whatsoever and is horrible at explaining. STAY AWAY!

She doesn't help you with anything. All she does are examples and you won't be able to see what she's writing because she blocks the board. She doesn't answer her emails so don't bother. Awful, In my class of around 35 students, 15-17 stayed till the end. I wud say around 12/17 failed. The people who passed just got a C. For her midterms, only 2 people passed out of 35. There is a lot of online homework and written homework which are hard and time taking. The bad part is that her TA or may be herself grade it like a test.

Topics introduced rapidly, w/ poor explanation. Long, difficult HW assignments. Quizzes occur almost every day; of 30 class sessions, there were 24 quizzes (only 8 were passed back by the end of the semester). More than half scored 50% on 1st midterm. Arrogant; often states that difficult concepts are "easy" or "not rocket science".

I am going to be straight, I used to be 4.0 student until I took her class. Whatever you do, just take someone else. I passed with a B- and none if the people I met in the class got to pass. She does not teach, like, at all.

This is the worst professor I have ever encountered. Disorganized and arrogant. Sets you up for failure from the start. Lectures are mess. She jumps in-between chapters without properly announcing topics, makes mistakes on board, fails to fix them. Never responds to emails. Quizzes are not in sync with either hw or lecture. Took Calc1 for GE & had done it before in hs. Barely passed, hs lectures are WAY better than hers. Attendance mandatory b/c of quizzes. Shook when she said smth along the lines "If I give 30 problems out, it should take 30 minutes." On average, per hw assignment takes me 2 hrs. Never responds to email. More stressed than my hs AP Comp sci class :(

Professor Krause is so old that there is no emotion in her lectures, not only that but she is so slow that it makes me want to fall asleep. Her hand writing is so bad that I have to take a picture of the board and zoom in as much as possible to make an interpretation of what it says. Her random quizzes are off sync from the lectures.

I really hated this teacher. No emotion in lectures, and gave a ton of homework. I did the best I could on it and got a C on average. Would not recommend.
