Good teacher, assignments are one of the best parts. Her class is interesting and stimulating. Doesn't really use the textbook much. Instead, exams are based solely on her lectures and videos shown in class. Take good notes to do well in this class.

Good teacher but tends to talk down to students and belittles them, but i don't think she realizes what she is doing. As long as you do your work[labs] you will pass the class, she doesn't grade heavy on the tests. Overall, the class got better with time.

I took this as a TV class, and only met 6 times throughout the semester. She is extremely interested in the subject, and makes it just as interesting for the students. She gives a good amount of work, but none of it is ver hard. Overall, it's an enjoyable class.

She is really a very knowledgable and fair teacher who knows what she is talking about. She requires a lot of work but truly strives to make sure that all her students succeed. She will make you work for an A but you will at least walk away knowing that it was well deserved.

I was very disappointed with Mobilia's class, but I somehow pulled of a B in her course. She was pregnant so the probably was effecting her mood everyday. Read ALL the textbook and required readings. I thought I was going to fail her course but did all the available extra credit and passed. The key is studying! Something I learned late in class.

awesome teacher overall. loves teaching this subject and made the class into a learning environment. i took her two sems ago, lab and lec and i would love to take a class from her again. the way she teaches makes it very easy to comprehend the material. again, awesome teacher!

(Online class) Lots of projects that seem like they should be for an upper division class, not a first semester class. Lots of work, although it is not necessarily difficult.

This teacher tells you exactly what she expects from you from the begining. There's a chapter each week, a quiz, discussion board and sometimes an assignment. It's a lot of work, but the class is very interesting. She is quick to respond, helpful, has extra credit and make-up oppritunities. If you are lazy and not willing to work do not enroll!

(antro 100) Interesting class, heavily dependent on text book. Lots of reading and studying required, the test are not easy. Teacher hates tardies, mandatory attendance. Hates people who perfer partying over studying. Quiz every few weeks, 4 test and final. One project that was fairly easy.

She is a really good teacher that is on top of things. She knows her material real good. The class is really interesting and you can actually get into the material with interest. The only down side is that she's hard. She is strick and sticks to her guidelines. Even though she's hard I still recommend her.

Excellent teacher, her lectures are very clear, and include the information you need to know. She likes to repeat herself which is really nice if your a poor note taker, LISTEN WHEN SHE DOES THIS, be prepared to do the work and be an honest student. Show up on time and don't use your phone in class, remember we're in college now, quit whining.

If you decide to take Anthropology and have fun learning it, I suggest not taking it with this teacher. She can be enthusiastic sometimes and it's funny, but most of the time she can put you to sleep. You better read and study the textbook A LOT or you will not get a good grade on her tests! She gives a quiz almost every week, 3-4 tests. Good luck!

Challenging online class but not difficult to get a decent grade in. Be sure to read your chapters and case study. Exams were not as hard as you would expect from the rest of the classwork. Mobilia is very clear and very helpful. I would definitely take another class from her.

Loved this profesor. She is witty and bright. She will not hold your hand so be responsible for doing your work. Very approachable if you need help.

For an online class, you have to be responsible for a lot she asks for, including weekly discussions, quizzes, assignments and, most of all, reading (articles, case study, text). Exams are easier than the quizzes, but you have to read the textbook, word-for-word. She responds to email so it's helpful. Seems like a nice lady, class just demanding.

I love love love this professor! Yes, she does have slightly higher expectations, but as far as I'm concerned, I'm in college to LEARN, so I definitely appreciate her. She seems to actually care about her students getting something out of her class rather than just stroking her ego, like most professors.

I love this class and the professor! If you don't like learning and would rather sit and listen to boring lectures all day, don't take this class. This prof is great, she genuinely takes an interest in her students and wants them to learn. The workload is not as hard as it seems and she gives plenty of time every week for her assignments.

Teacher is awesome she explains it very well but her test are ridiculous. She expects you to memorize specific names and useless info. Be prepared to memorize the book and ready extremely long lectures.

Online class- must go to campus three times for tests. There is a large amount of work, but she picked great supplementary materials. I learned a lot and had a good time!

A fantastic teacher. I took her class two years ago and still recommend this teacher to anyone who wants to learn and prove their learning. This instructor is not a babysitter, so if you aren't an adult or ready to be an adult, don't take the class. If you can follow a syllabus and turn in assignments, you will love the class.

She is one of the best professors I have ever had. She is passionate about what she teaches and always teaches the subjects with clarity. She is kind, approachable, and her class was so interesting. Her exams were a breeze; you'd have to be absent or blackout hammered every class in order to get lower than an A in her class.

She is very nice and sincere but expect A LOT of memorizing and statistical data. I really like her class but do not recommend taking it if you have a full semester. She claims 8 hours a week of studying but realistically its 12-15

I absolutely LOVE this teacher. Do not expect an easy grade there is a lot of work and a LOT of reading, but the class is amazing and gives you a total respect for the subject. She is awesome! This is my favorite class after 3 years at Palomar. She gives LOTS of extra credit. NO big papers to write. all quizzes and tests are mult-choice. She is very to the point and literal, if you follow what she asks you to do (which isn't much) it will be an easy A. I wish I could take more of her classes, I LOVE Anthropology now!!

Very sweet woman! Her quirkiness makes a boring class somewhat enjoyable. People are lazy. If you put in a little effort then you'll do fine. There's no homework (give or take an assignment), 7 quizzes, 4 tests and an optional final. TONS of extra credit! Put in the work and you'll get an A.

This professor is great. Very passionate about her job. The only thing is the exams are quite thorough. So be prepared to study a hefty amount for exams. The other downside to the online course was having to go to campus for all exams, which completely defeated the purpose of taking an online course. Overall I would recommend this professor.

If you do the work and pay attention, it is an easy a. she is very sincere and always willing to answer questions. She has a bug about cheaters so as long as you don't get on that bad side, she is awesome. Definitely do the study guides and you'll do fine.

Easiest class yet. Although a lot of reading, not necessarily required from the book, but just online articles that are assigned. She's very into what she's teaching. She basically gives an outline on how to get full credit on everything. A ton of extra credit, final was optional that can replace a test. Gives out chocolate or candy on test days :D

Excellent communication; lesson plan is clear; she is very organized. I just had trouble with the incessant amount of required articles to read each week; made it hard to absorb the subject matter at a quality level because it was hard to separate the details of each article despite notes. Wanted to love it but pace more like a 200 level class.

She is organized and puts everything you need to know on blackboard including frequently asked questions. She also offers a lot of extra credit. However, the weekly assignments that she gives are EXTREMELY time consuming and for the most part you won't have the time to do the extra credit assignments if taking other classes. I wouldn't recommend.

weekly homework is usually a chapter from the 2 books, 3 articles online, a film, 2 quizzes, a discussion board post, and 2 responses. It doesn't seem that bad since you get to space it out over a week. Gives a lot of extra credit! Tests are mostly easy but have some specific questions. Assignments are straightforward

Wow, tough critics here. I actually thoroughly enjoyed Prof. Mobilia. I'm a science major, so maybe that helped, but I found her extremely concise and to the point. She gives A TON of extra credit. Tests are hard.. very hard. She is a bit eccentric so if you're judgey then don't take her. I will definitely take her again.

So much work and quizes, but offers much extra credit. Don't fall behind, optional final. She does want you to succeed, but is a bit tough. If you need help, ask! Visit her office and eat chocolate.

All I'm going to say is the tests are very hard. I studied for days on end and still felt clueless during the tests. I'm guessing that's why she gives so much extra credit, otherwise I imagine most her students would fail.

very easy class, not much homework, TONS of extra credit (i got a 108% in the class). Everything in the class is very well explained, especially work that students have to do. The syllabus as well as every assignment are VERY clear and tell you exactly what to do. Lectures from powerpoint, book isnt really needed. Just pay attention in class and A+

Lots of notes to take in class, she gave out a ton of extra credit this semester. There are 4 finals in the class and an optional 5th final that can drop a low grade. The book is not mandatory to use in class but I do recommend it because there is reading due to help you understand lecture. Do your study guides and prepare for the quizzes!

Fun, friendly, and very bright, Professor Mobilia is a perfect choice for Anthropology majors and non-majors alike! She makes what can be an entirely foreign field of study seem immediate and second-nature. I am so glad to have taken her class.

Go to class, take notes, test come straight from notes. Easy extra credit - watch a documentary and write a paragraph. Visit her office she is there to help. Seems intimidating but it is a front! If u show min interest in her class u will pass. But go to class 4 sure! Raise ur hand, ask questions. One big last project very easy, has samples 4 it.

Professor Mobilia was one of my favorite teachers! She is very enthusiastic and cares about her students' success. She is available outside of office hours. She gives a ton of extra credit and her tests come from her study guide. The zoo experience is quite fascinating and I loved it. Only thing is she is strict with deadlines so be on your toes.

I had her twice for Anth 100 and 135. She was clear from the very beginning about what she was expecting from us and passed out a syllabus with everything we needed to know. She was always available and a fair grader. There is another rate my prof page about her spelt Ann-Marie Mobilia. This page just has her negative reviews, not the positive.

Professor Mobilia is one of the best teachers Ive had. She always helped me when I went to her office hours and went over the material. She had a bunch of extra credit which was really simple and her lectures were interesting and easy to comprehend.I dont know why she is getting hate because she is helpful and caring and her workload isnt bad.

Took this class for GE so I did not know what to expect, but glad I chose this one! Definitely study for the tests, but if you need it there is lots of extra credit. Prof. very helpful and was available online and during office hours.

LOVED THIS CLASS!!! Teacher is funny and a little quirky, but you will defintly not fall asleep during her lectures, but you gotta go to class. There's extra credit if you need it, but she let's you use cheat sheets on quizzes and even on the final exam

Mobilia is one of my favorite professors I have ever had. She expects her students to do well and show that they earned their grade. She never hands out pop quizzes, everything is clearly outlined on syllabus and repeated in class. Super fair grader, very resourceful, and one of the most respectable professors I've ever had.

While her class was a bit of challenge, she is a good teacher overall. Super respectful and well informed. While she is a tough grader, she does offer a lot of extra credit. Professor Mobilia is very organized and every week for her online class has the same format. Take this course!- but you must do the readings and work to succeed. I have taken her for ANTH 135 and ANTH 137, and she has been a blessing to my education. She expects a lot from her students, but it is easily manageable, plus tons of extra credit.

She gives out lots of extra credit opportunities, which is super helpful! It definitely adds up. If you don't put the work in then it is very hard to pass the class. If you have any questions she tries her best to help out and since religion is a sensitive topic she does make sure not to offend anyone.

Great professor, very responsive to emails via Canvas. She made the class very interesting. Discussion board posts, assignments, quizzes, 3 exams and one major paper. Textbook very direct and not voluminous. For online course, 2 exams were proctored. She is a bit tricky on her test questions, just don't second-guess yourself.

She is very caring and kind, she is willing to help any struggling students, including me, I was on the verge of dropping but she worked with me to get my grade back up and to me that speaks loudly to the type of professor she is.

This professor really cares about her students. She would send out helpful reminders every week about the class and Information about student services. This class probably requires a bit more work than others, however she really cares about her students and will give you lots of feedback. There is also an insane amount of extra credit available, so if you put in the effort to learn you will do great.

This teacher has a ton of extra credit which does determine your grade. If you don't do a majority of the extra credit you will end up with a lower grade in this course. There's quite a bit of reading required each week. A discussion board, quizzes, 3 exams, fim assignments/quizzes.

Professor Mobilia is the kindest instructor I've had in college so far. She offers so many extra credit opportunities and I had over 100% for most of the semester. There's lots of reading for the textbook and articles, but it was all pretty interesting. She's gives nice comments and genuinely cares about her students.

Professor Mobilia is very kind. I do recommend you take this class if you don't have much going on because you will have A LOT of work to do. Although there is a lot of work she gives, you will find the readings/assignments interesting. Also, she gives many extra credit opportunities so definitely take advantage of that!!

This course isn't that hard as long as you put in the work. The discussion posts and assigned reading are time consuming. You have to buy the textbook and reading book cause that's where a lot of the quiz/test questions come from. Mobilia is really kind, she provides good feedback on your work and I can tell that she really cares for her students.

Took her in person ANTH100 class. She clearly is well versed in what she is teaching about and cares about it too. Very clear grader and sets expectations very well. She offers a lot of extra credit. If she offers study guides do them! learned a lot and with her style of teaching she allowed for an easy A

Prof Mobilia is the best!!!! She offers so much extra credit it's literally impossible to fail this class. Most important thing is to fill out all of the study guides IN CLASS because she allowed us to use those for the exams. If you wait to do them all at once it adds up fast. Only 4 exams and about 7? quizzes. Everything else was just lectures!

She is a good professor but half the time her assignments don't make sense/ explain what she wants, she claims to take less than two days to respond an email but after sending almost 20 emails related to the course I never received a reply once

I took Professor Mobilia's class fall semester of high school senior year and it was great! She's super passionate and knowledgeable about anthropology and offers lots of extra credit. She about her students as people first and is super patient and encouraging. You definitely need to take the class seriously to pass, but I truly recommend her!

Professor Mobilia's class can be challenging, but she offers great resources like extra credit to help you succeed. I found Unstuck ai super helpful for study prep alongside the textbook.

Although this course requires lots of time and effort into your studying, the work does pay off! The videos and study guides will prepare you for exams and she grades by a point system so that gives you a little room if you forget to take weekly quizzes. She gives plenty of extra credit opportunity and responds quickly to emails.
