Brilliant woman, but not cut out to be a professor; keeps changing requirements and seems very disorganized at times. No one really likes the class, and only tolerate her becuase we have to.
She is crazy. Likes to spout out stuff about religions that she knows nothing about. Lame class. Very disorganized. Take notes about the videos. Did I mention that she is crazy.
If you like hearing a teacher read from the book, this is the class for you. Has 15min, graded labs, just about everyday, BORING. She is nice but a bit on the weird side. Class wasn't too hard as long as you keep up on the reading. SEATING CHART? C
She is boring, impossible to follow, and will teach you absolutly nothing. On the other hand it's an eazy c and she dose have nice **** dispite being old. have fun
She's the Mensan world-traveller with the Ph.D; all of you spoiled richies must all have Down Syndrome. And stop whining about "not having a choice". It's your money..er, wait...your parents' money. Nevermind, kids.
She's a very energetic instructor and you can really learn a lot from her lectures if you pay attention. She used a lot of different methods to teach my class. Excellent instructor!
She's nuts! She reads from the book the entire lecture without asking or answering any questions! When we got to the rise of Islam, she skipped half the chapter b/c she said she couldn't pronounce most of the names, and she has a Ph.D.!
Anne is awesome. Is her class easy? Not if you're a lazyass. You might have to study to keep up, she treats you like an adult, like an equal. She's well-traveled and passionate about history. She genuinely cares about her students. Her class is fabulo
this lady sucks and is very unclear. she tries to use movies and slides to compensate for her****ty teaching

Says one thing and means another. Never gives directions on her assignments and expects something totally different. EX: she said she wanted an essay...if you turn in an essay you get a F and told that the essay is supposed to be 5 sentences. Horrible!
Expects a whole bunch of work to be done and when turned in wants it compressed into one page (which is impossible). Class is boring, just repeats everything in te book, which u have to read to understand her and her class. Grading scale ridiculous.
Spaz freak definitely, but she knows what she is talking about. She uses different teaching methods that really help you. A lot of work but you're in school to learn so get used to it. She's crazy but a really smart lady.
She is boring and weird. I don't recommend her, she gives alot of work (Identification Terms) to do. Don't take her, specially during the summer.
Anne Negus is a great teacher. By no means would one call her class easy, but she is well read, extremely traveled and very intelligent, those who complain about her class are either lazy or incompetent. Her assignments are vague, to promote creativity and thought, and all she wants to see is effort.
she is soo unbelievably boring. i got a B in her class. it was the toughest class to get through... not because it was hard but because she was so boring and the work she gives is ridiculous. i recommend you take her if you can sit through the class. the work isn't hard but i think she's an idiot.
I really liked her as a teacher. She is well traveled and gives interesting lectures. Her tests are a little hard and the class requires a little bit of work, but she is a very nice person and will work with you.
Negus is not for lazy people that's for sure. You really have to keep up and make sure you ask if you don't understand. She travels extensively, so her lectures include cool visuals. Very sweet and good for the student who is actually up to a College Level.
Negus gives the most interesting lectures and uses relevant videos to back it up. Yes, i have to admit sometimes she can be unclear but her stories are good and thats what history is. stories. if you love history and pretty confident then i recommend this class
Make your best out of the class! QUIZ qs are off study guides, read at least 1hr before class 2 understand lecture. There's no reason 2fail unless you depend on her 2hand you the A. She's gr8, knowledgable & get 2know her so you standout as one that tries hard, ask4HELP - guides her grading on exams.
She's fun, intelligent and well travelled. Anyone that had negative things to say about her is LAZY. Show interest in her class, and the work will be easy. She likes you to think, and question things. Write bold, argumentative essays and she will love you. Great teacher!
I havent taken the final yet, but going into it I have a B. She is very interesting. Every Ch. we read, she brings photos from the region(s) we are learning about. She is passionate about history, and wants her students to see the connection between past & present. If you are not satisfied with her as a teacher, give it time, you'll mature.
Her lectures are unclear and she is difficult to follow. You learn more from the book than from her lectures. The work that she gives you is busy work and idenification terms don't match up w/ the chapters. Difficult class for summer
Ms. Negus is very hard to follow and is extremely boring. Lectures are vague and combined with her life experiences/opinions. Do not recommend taking in summer because the class is too boring to take 4 days a week. She is nice but she needs much improvement on organization. Sometimes i believe she grades biasly.
She has awesome stories of her adventures around the world - many include near death experiences. Negus is a cool-ass-****.
You really have to keep up and make sure you ask if you don't understand. She travels extensively, so her lectures include cool visuals.
didn't enjoy this class, too much politics. i love ancient egyptian culture, but this class didn't do much for me. I got an A, but I wouldn't take it over again if I had the choice.
SHES CRAZY!!! she doesn't make sense half the time and the other half shes laughing about something thats not funny...
She is a bit crazy, but damn if she isnt sexy. I wanted to ask her out for a drink after class but then I remembered that she is crazy. One word-unorganized. However if you stay up on the readings and come to lecture its a piece of cake.
awesome expierience. sexy too!!!
She is tuff but it is a good class. She cant be very unorganized at times, but she does give you great information. her slides, vidoes, timeline, and personal experience really does help you to remember the material.
SHE IS AN EXELENT TEACHER WHO KNOWS HOW TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE STUDENTS AND TEACH THEM ABOUT HISTORY. SHE MAKES THE SUBJECT INTERESTING AND FUN TO LEARN. I DIDNT FALL ASLEEP SO THAT WAS GOOD ALSO. SHE GIVES GOOD DETAILED NOTES BUT YOU HAVE TO LISTEN OR YOU WILL MISS THE INFORMATION,SHE DOSENT GRADE SO HARD SO THAT WILL HELP THE STUDENTS.
She's Nuts. Really easy class though. Can't stand her. Thank god it was only a summer class.
She's not so much crazy as she is just really eccentric. She is pretty unorganized and all over the place though. You don't really need to read the book and there's a good deal of writing assignments. Overall a pretty easy class.
Professor Negus knows a lot about history. She is somewhat is easy. She show interesting videos in the class. She also shows her personal experience pictures that she took when she travel. Very interesting class, but I suggest you shouldn't take in the summer too fast pace. Wait until the fall or spring to take her.
she is a pretty straight forward teacher. her quizzes are STRAIGHT out of the workbook, so memorize those and you'll ace quizzes. her tests aren't too hard, she makes the class interesting by bringing in personal experience. she can be a bit scatter-brained though.
Im a history Major, and am working on becoming a teacher. She made me hate history to an extent i couldnt understand... class is very awkward, she digresses a bit, and just isnt clear on anything. also changes her format as she goes. DONT DO IT! i know your thinking "it wont be so bad"....... it will @_@
horrible teacher. she doesnt even really lecture. all she does is mumble and laugh at herself in front of class. quizes are easy though, just memorize the answers out of the workbook. easy to get extra credit but u have to study a lot for the tests. really hard to keep track of wat shes talking about though. good luck if u take her, u'll need it
One of the best professors at Fullerton College! Intelligent, smart, and fun. Not a typical history teacher requiring dates, facts, and rogue learning. She loves her subject and gets her students to love it too by giving interesting lectures, complemented by stories from her extensive travels all around the world. Her tests are fair. Take her clas
Dr. Negus definitely knows everything about Egypt and I found the class VERY interesting. She incorporates films within the lectures which were really entertaining along with her personal insights. The class was semi-difficult but she is always there to help a student. I recommend taking this course!
man, this kooky broad is all over the place. she has practicle exp. but she is completely out of hand with her egoism, she thinks she is worldly and knows the"right" way discuss religion and culture...problem is she is very stunted in her knowledge and out look....(liberal to the point of utter stupidity), she laughs to herself about every damn thi
Negus is a funny and sincere lady who has a passion for history that shows. However, the orginization and structure of her lectures seem to be unprepared or too layered-her video clips are interesting, as well as the slides and pictures from her trips-she gives many extra credit opportunities! points are valuable, so keep up on them, and you'll do.
You could go either way with this prof.If you make an effort to show interest, you'll do better.Lectures are VERY obscure.someone mentioned the videos, too bad they're pretty much irrelevent.Quiet students may get jipped on their "participation" points.Tests fairly difficult-you'll feel like you wasted ur time studying.WAY 2many notes to be useful.
She can very confusing to some and lucid to others. She tells you exactly what to do in her class. If you do poorly its either because you don't care or you're an idiot. So good luck.
ok, so she is a tad out there, but, she is an excellent teacher. if you have half a brain and do your work you will do well, she works with you if she knows you arent jerking her around. has a wealth of knowledge.she is a bit liberal.... i really like her though
I LOVE Miss Negus! She's so awesome! She has such crazy stories, she's been everywhere (not just Europe). She loves all of history, not just one area. She really wants ppl to succeed. Be respectful and she'll have no problems with you. She has crazy films that coincide PERFECTLY with her lectures. Her overheads are confusing, but don't matter.
when others say she "wants students to succeed," they mean she teaches like it's third grade. i dropped her class after she stated that original taoism, hinduism and buddhism were about "becoming one with god"; judaism was about compassion and not ritual; and finished by informing us that monday we'd have a "group quiz." i'll pass, thanks.
1 of the weirdest out there*U WILL regret if u take her*Will point u out to embarrass u in front of class just 2 entertain herself*4 some reason she laughs every 30sec*Dont bother 2 take notes durin lectures cuz seems like she readin it straight out of the book*Tests r hard n tricky, need 2 memorize lecture+video+book cuz everythin goin 2b on test
Though she is pretty strange she at least helps connect humankind's pattern of decision making. If you take notes and basic reasoning you should do fine on her tests. First few weeks are rough but towards the end of the semester the class is an easy routine.
Every class was like getting high and then listening to weird music. She's freakin awesome. She lets you use notes on your exam, I don't know how much easier it can get. Really nice too. I did squat and got a B
She can be a bit confusing at times and even when she 'explains' herself, I found a lot of the class was still confused on certain topics. Her class is def. a study on your own and supplement with the lecture type of class. Once you get used to the routine of the class it shouldn't be too bad.
She is definitely eccentric which helps keep your mind off her lectures if you want to tune out. even though all i could think about was putting her on "what not to wear" during the class at the end of the day she is a good teacher. she is passionate and the tests are open note. her biggest flaw is her students' attitude towards the class.
good teacher. she loves what she does, and thats what counts. her quizes arent hard because the study guide is basically the quiz. not much book stuff, and she gives you alot of chances for extra credit!
had her for Honors World Civ in Fall 02, and for Ancient Egypt. She's marvelous. Most people who criticize her do so because they arent ready for college and hate the challenge her teaching style presents. if you follow her, read the material and come prepared every class she'll know the effort you're putting into it. Negus is the best!
This teacher has an odd teaching style. Her lectures consist mainly of thoughts and experiences during her own travels to foreign lands, with very brief discussion of necessary information. She required journal entries for each chapter consisting of your thoughts about each. Her statements were very scattered and seemed unorganized.
She wins my most biased teacher "award". My friend tried to tell the teacher her own opinion about something and the teacher gave this big spiel about why it wasn't right, and then said "Thank you for the question." I ended up withdrawing from the class because I didn't like how biased her views were, and the VIDEO SPEAKERS WERE TOO LOUD!
I thought she was a good teacher. Any time I went to class I understood the content enough to not read. Makes you turn in journal entires about your thoughts, its pretty cool. She gave out hand-written notes to everyone, made things a lot easier. I would advise taking the class.
She's a very nice lady who has a passion for what she does. I enjoyed it enough to stick w/her class. Not a hard class. Read, pay attention to lectures, take notes, do your journals and you will be fine. Towards the end I barely even read but skimmed the book but did everything else and managed to get a B. Highly recommending her!
At first she seems very hard, super confusing, buttt if you stick it out, do your work, study a little on tests, you can get a good grade.
She is the funniest, most entertaining teacher EVER! I loved her! Also had her for Ancient Egypt. She is so passionate about her subject, and she's actually BEEN EVERYWHERE! so she's teaching from experience. tons of fun stories, WAAAY easy quizzes.. mandatory attndce but she's worth it. Tries to get people to speak up. <3 her!
AWFUL. No none understands her. Strange. She is really weird. She laughs to herself--I think she needs to increase her medication. Se is a complete psycho. Avoid her class and avoid her.
This teacher is very strange. She is all over the place when she teaches and is very confusing. for the first month i didnt know what she was teaching at all! she is so anti-christian makes fun of christians! so rude. do not take her. she is very judgemental and opinionated.
she is crazy. she has been almost everywhere she teaches about but she is so all over the place its confusing. she looks like a wild jungle woman! she is not a good teacher.
She has a strong history background. She has extreme positions at times, but is also open to how the students feel about it. Moderate workload.
AWFUL!Will tell you the tests are based on the lecture notes, but half the answers ended up being from book. Tests are extremely difficult. No discussion boards. Incomprehensible grade scale. Grade based exculsively on multiple choice tests. I am a good student with a high gpa and I am currently getting a c inthis class. Avoid at all costs.
What kind of teacher wants you to fail and gives confusing test questions that even she would get wrong? ANNE NEGUS. This is the worst teacher I've ever had!
I took this class online and thought that for the most part it was fairly easy. Really didn't take up much of my time at all. I did think that some of the questions on her tests/quizzes were ambiguous at times and unclear.
This is supposed to be an easy class because all it is are weekly quizzes and a few cumulative tests. I get the feeling that Negus wants to trick us by giving questions that could have two to three possible answers. I wonder why she doesn't have discussion forums? Probably because she doesn't want to read all the student complaints!!!!
Pretty confusing and teaches only from personal experience and not from generally accepted veiwpoints. Several times she told us "facts" I knew to be untrue. But if you attend class regularly you will probably pass.
GREAT TEACHER. read the book, listen in class and take notes on videos. NOT HARD AT ALL. completely changed my mind about history. loved her. TAKE THIS TEACHER.
She is very smart and has a lot of knowledge of world history because of her travels and personal experiences. But she is strict especially about her Lecture Notes and In Class Study Outline. She uses good movie references to illustrate history. Read the book and take lots of notes. She is fair and equal to all. She's by the book, no exceptions.
A great professor! Take notes on the lectures and read the book and you're sure to get an A. She is extremely helpful and fair to her students. Her stories about her travels are fascinating and really add to the course!
She is an okay teacher. She makes you write your own notes and then gives you her own - really easy to study with, along with the book. She has traveled all over the world, so she has a lot of interesting stories to tell.
Midterms are ok! They were not hard at all (especially for a history class!) She gives you her notes, she uses a lot of videos...well...she was a pretty nice teacher!! The only thing is that sometimes, she will say things you may disagree. Besides that, all fine! :)
Took the class online so it was straight from the book and her study guide. She stated that quizzes would be from study guide and on concepts. They weren't. Tests were confusing and on stupid details from book, like what was someone holding in one of the pictures (really!). Multiple choice questions were tricky and irrelevant. Lucky to get a "B."
Easy A. Quizzes and exams almost entirely from lectures. Extremely thorough lecture handouts. Minimal textbook use besides small extra credit for handwritten textbook notes. You may use those same notes on exams. Writing consists of a 2 page essay and you give a PowerPoint presentation in class (though she said she'd change that somehow).
Great teacher! She has so many interesting stories! Tests were based on clear lectures and text book. Would definitely take another class with her.
do not take her! she talks about pointless stuff and u learn nothing in the lecture. she gives u her notes which help a ton! reflection paper due for each chapter along with your own notes, loves pop quizzes, boring movies. goes off subject way to much makes class confusing
Although the class is pretty easy, she is ALL over the place! half of her lectures have nothing to do with what you should actually be talking about and you watch many boring movies. you have to do your own notes from the book and reflection paper which are pointless! not a great teacher at all!
She is a great professor. She has a passion for history and for things that are going on in the world. She's traveled a lot and so brings in a lot of personal stories and memorabilia. She makes what's happening in the news relevant to students' lives. She uses more than the textbook--newspaper articles, movie clips, etc. Fun and easy class. LOVEHER
Not the greatest teacher i've ever taken. if you're great with memorization, take this professor. chapter reviews along with a research paper due nearly every other class meeting. review papers are worth 20% so do them. Her tests are hard, but study. The writing portion is easier than the multiple choice surprisingly.
Took this online class. Somewhat confusing. She has us sign up for the Pearson Lab but her page is really unorganized. She was using the old book and the new book, so her emails regarding the chapters were incorrect. I would see what other teachers are available before enrolling in this class.
I don't really like history, so any history class wouldn't have been my favorite class to take. However the fascinating thing about Negus,is that she has literally been EVERYWHERE we cover&she has had the craziest life&tells wonderful stories that coincide with the places. She loves her subject& traveling&is a good inspiration to get up & go places!
OMG!!!! i love history but she made me hate it! 85% of the class is hearing about her world travels. the study guides were no help at all! if you are not good at memorizing the little details then avoid her!
She tells you her quizes are based on lectures, but even using her lecture I have failed every quiz. If it were just me, I'd understand. But the class has been emailing back and forth and it's all of us. Totally confusing and frustrating. Class is an utter waste of time and effort.
HORRIBLE! **AVOID** She is so unhelpful, unforgiving, and uses every insight student's gave her against us! I have a high GPA but not after this class. Uses a website that she can't even use herself. Unorganized and offensive.
BEST PROFFESSOR! Negus is one of the best proffessor at fullerton. She is so helpful and if you ask her a question she will love to help you. Her test are very easy structured. Attend the lecuture, B average on the test and do the project and you will be EXEMPT from the final. Her multiple choice test are soo easy!
This is a class that undoubtedly requires hours of studying. She makes you buy a packet along with her book that has chapter notes that you turn in right before class. It's extra credit and very important if you'd like to pass. Her quizzes were easy to study for and her tests were pretty tough. She's interesting but also why I don't like history.
Her teaching and video clips are very interesting. Her tests and quizs were easy, you just need to memorize.Do the project if you want to get a A or a B and get except from the final. Do the extra credit green sheets based on reading, that really helps your test grade. She can be confusing sometimes and she's slightly deaf.
she is a good teacher but can be a little unclear.
Worst teacher I've ever had. Makes her own guides, and it is impossible to understand her writing.
I really enjoyed this class. I think she is an awesome professor. She loves teaching and is always there to help. I mean, if you do YOUR part as a student, you will be totally fine. Great class. Take it.
Being a history major,Professor Negus was awesome. I was a working student, so her system hard to adjust too, but I quickly adapted to taking notes within her pre-printed study guides(which can be used during exams) and read the book with the aim of being able to answer essay questions. If you love history, you will love this class.
She is very nice. It's obvious she loves what she does. She has travelled all over and shows you pictures of where you are learning about. If you do the extra credit proofs it helps you so much on the tests. Take her class.
This class will be easy if you are on task. I got a A on the midterms and the project. The short answers are key for midterms. Any extra credit will help boost your grade. Try to tune in on what she says. For the quizzes, just study! Dont try to memorize things...try to connect all the dates, people, events, and ideas. then, you'll also get an A!
She disputes other historians accounts yet has to read off her notes to teach the class. Don't even get me started on her thesis. Not a good teacher. Avoid.
What a great professor! Yeah, this class is a lot of work. But it's college so? It's not one of those EASY classes. But if you actually just do the work, go to class, commit and study. An A is definitely attainable. I've never been interested in history nor do good grades come easy to me, and I got an A. She is so helpful and nice. STUDY
Her online class is very straight forward. 15 mini tests and 3 major exams (split into smaller portions)She says most of the test questions come from lecture but actually more come from the book. You must have the book! Her lecture notes are interesting. She is very responsive to emails. It wasn't the best class but it was doable.
Took this class online but professor was very unclear with directions. Avoid this professor if possible.
She is an amazing professor! quiz every week 2 midterms and a final EC due AFTER the final so only if you need it If you go into her office she will give you extra credit and she really helps you! Nicest lady ever who always wants feedback on how to run her class better. ALL QUIZ ANSWERS ARE IN HER LECTURE UNLESS IT IS A TEXT MAP OR DIAGRAM
She gets really off topic sand starts talking about a bunch of random stuff, and randomly plays video clips. Shes really nice, but the lectures are long and hard to follow. I would recommend doing the blue sheets she gives you though. Those are helpful. Also, a lot of little quizzes. Be prepared for those.
Her notes make no sense. She scribbles time lines that are not legible at all. She was a nice lady but horrible teacher.
Negus is super informative about the material, having traveled all over the world. Shows a real interest! Flexible, willing to make changes accordingly. You have to be on top of the points u get in this class. She's older so u have to make sure you know where all ur work is. Really cares about students, but u have to express your needs to her.
I would definitely recommend taking any class of hers! She really cares about her students. Her lectures are interesting and she uses a lot of resources and stories outside of the textbook to help you connect the dots and get the main ideas of each time period. Pay attention to lectures and you'll pass her class
Negus was very disorganized this semester... but it worked out in our advantage because the "pop" quizzes (she'd give us at least 1wk notice) are easy. The whole class is based on her lectures/notes and the textbook/movies/personal stories support the structure of her lectures/notes. She has always been super clear as to what is important to learn.
If you want to daze off during class, get offended learning political history, only read the textbook and syllabus and not go with the flow with what the teacher says, you won't pass Negus' class. The book tells you 100s of facts, the lectures tell you whats important . If you think history is boring, you will the her lectures are too
Dr. Negus is a great professor. Her lectures are interesting and in-depth. You need to show up and pay attention or you're just hurting yourself. She treats you to clips and photos that pertain to the material, which are great. She has no problem talking with you outside of class and emails back quickly. Over all, an excellent class.
Took this class online. Had a quiz every weekend but that was the only hw really. Read the text and you'll pass.
Don't take this as an online class, it's not worth it. Take an easier version of the class, this one had me pretty stressed out. She expects too much out of students for an online class. Theres a quiz every week, 2 midterms (in 2 parts), a final, and an essay. Give yourself a break and take someone else. Not impressed with this professor at all.
Negus is not organized. You don't really have to take notes since she gives note handouts but they are hard to read & aren't structured. She talks a lot & may even go off topic at times. You're required to buy her book and take notes on the pages she has. I did well without the book. She lets you use notes for tests & quizzes are in groups @ times.
She's very unorganized with the grades and topics for the quizzes sometimes don't match the options listed. There's a quiz every week quizlet can be helpful sometimes.
For HIST 112F, there are 14 quizzes, 3 bigger exams, and a sourcing quiz. The online class is easy because if you ever need help, you know what to do.
Get ready to read! Her lectures are very good and there are many supplemental videos to help reinforce the material learned. There are timed tests weekly but 2 tries are given on each test. Fascinating subject. Excellent instructor. Highly recommend.
Sit towards front of class or else you wont be able to hear her. Just read the chapters and notes and youll pass the class easily. Tests are more
All of video lecture was well worth listening & similar lecture was also in writing (took online). Theres 15 weeks, so 15 quizzes, state assessment, & 3 exams, none cumulative. Each quiz or exam gave you two attempts so you can try again for better score! Instructor Lynne Negus motivated me to work hard & I usually dont. Highly recommended!
Prof Anne Negus is very knowledgeable . You need to read the text, listen to lectures and do you due diligence. The class is not hard if you do your work. She has extra credit if you test poorly. All tests allow you a second try. This is helpful!! Anne is very responsive and answers questions promptly. I recommend this class.
You have to go to her class if you miss class. She goes off topic often and when it comes to exam and quizzes she doesnt make it clear enough to understand what you need to do before taking the exam.... I wouldnt take her class again.
Took her through online course. Really easy to pass and all you have to do is study (read the book), do the quizzes and midterms.
You must attend and her policy is usually 2-3 absences allowed, but there may be exceptions. The material is not that hard and she quizzes you once every week and gives about 3-4 exams in the semester. Easy A. Too many personal stories and rushes through. Must take pics and actually write notes. If you dont, she wont allow you to take pics.
Impressions were that she was a nice lady but as a professor there were far too many occasions with miscommunication. Due to covid we transitioned to online and unfortunately it was clear she was not equipped to adapt for online. The course has an illusion of structure and requires more work than some 300 level courses. Avoid if you can.
She's a pretty straight forward teacher. Do the lecture notes prior to the lecture. If you do all of them and get at least a B on all of the test you can get exempt from the Final. I took her class for 112 and 113 got A's in both and didn't have to take either final. Just do the work and you'll be fine. Open note quizzes too.
Shes passionate about what she does and is willing to help in anyway she can. Its about 30 min of an audio lecture & 1 quiz every week. Pretty simple & to the point. You do need the textbook for some quiz questions. Overall a great professor & class!
The class includes weekly lectures (PDF+audio recordings) and a weekly quiz. The pdf and the audio recordings do not correlate 100% as the audio recordings seem outdated. The quiz questions are not from the lecture, most of them you can find Quizlets for. She is responsive though, she replies fast and grades the 3 papers fairly.
One of the most formative classes Ive taken in college. Lynn has such an extreme love and passion that can be seen in the way she teaches and structures her class. I loved the way she makes connects to ideas and historic events. Would 100% recommend to anyone who has any inclination towards the humanities, philosophy, and history.
Great class to enroll in. Prof Negus has put together an easy to follow online class. She provides chapter notes and an audio recording of them to highlight additional points and the audio files are short. Historical lessons tie in well with current events. Written assignments are short & meaningful, textbook pictures are sometimes quiz questions.
Dr. Negus's class inspired me to return to college full time and take again. She teaches so much about the world, not just history, in a clear and organized manner. She offers some excellent resources and also allows students to discuss questions you get wrong to get credit. She really goes out of her way to help and mentor students. LOVE HER!!!
Amazing professor who doesn't just teach history but has travelled to every nation we studied. She challenged me to think & write analytically, not just for the test. I learned things beyond my grade that helped me with my Master's Thesis. You have to take her class. There's only one Professor Negus.
I took this course during Spring 2020, so like everything else, we transitioned to an online setting. The questions provided for every chapter appear on exams/quizzes. There are recorded lectures that are essential to listen to, too! She is very accessible and understanding if you have any troubles/queries. If you put in the work, you will pass :)
I took her summer 20 & she's so nice. 12 quizzes 3 exams & 3 half page essays. pretty easy but there is a lot of reading and bc its summer its fast paced so you have to stay organized. she was super sweet & responded to emails fairly quickly & was understanding & helpful if I had any issues with quizzes. I definitely recommend but stay organized!!
Professor Negus is an amazing professor. I needed this class to fulfill my history associate of arts degree. Very informative and enjoyable class. Any one studying history will enjoy her class. I know I did.
There were usually 3 assignments each week. Time consuming but easy once you got the hang of it. Would recommend
HONEST REVIEW!!! I took professor Negus for HIST 112 for the summer semester. (don't recommend) It was a lot of work. Assignments are due every day and tests are due on Fridays. The textbook was very expensive. Her lectures are very hard to understand because its voice recorded. Overall, fair rating as a professor. No mandatory zoom meetings.
This professor should just transfer to online classes. Sitting through classes was near impossible. When confronted with questions during lectures she would become flustered and unable to answer questions, also had us work as groups often but with no real assignments. She seemed to know a lot about history but doesn't know how to teach it.
Im actually sad to write this review because I think she is a nice lady but I noticed I am barely getting a C in her class I have been consistent getting no less than 4/5 4.5/5 5/5 in her weekly assignments. Its frustrating because I do good- ok in her tests never failed. Nice lady, she likes assignments done a specific way. Not an easy A.
Class is stressful. Professor and person who answers (required) questions that you ask may be very blunt/high and mighty/laugh at you. Lectures hard to follow. Textbook required; min. 4-month subscription required to purchase (Pearson is cheapest). 2 midterms, 2 parts each. Final is 2 parts + an essay that absolutely stressed me out. Just don't.
I took her class online and it was not hard at all. She is a very nice person and accessible outside of class. Her tests are open-note and pretty much only from the lecture. The amount of homework is a bit hard to manage, especially since you only have until 8 AM the next day to finish, but if you are on top of your work you'll be fine.
Very nice lady, she really is but this class was just not it for me. I felt she did not really teach the lecture well and she'd sometimes just show us random video clips with no context. Also, my class was really small as only like 5-6 people showed up on average.
The lectures are just all right. She tries to cover everything from the book's chapter of the week into a 1 hour lecture. If you ask her for additional help she is not able to assist. If you work on the discussion post and you change your wording she'll think you're cheating. Be prepare to study or you will fail.
