this class is very easy!
I loved this class! She's a great teacher and she makes everything so interesting! Tons of fun and you learn a lot too!
Great teacher and great class. If you pay even a little attention in class, you'll be good. Multiple choice tests all based on the lectures. I recommend this teacher 100%
Good teacher. Lectures consists of many famous paintings. Fun class.
Just attend class, pay attention, and take notes...for sure an easy A. Not sure if she still does it, but she offered study guides on her website for each exam, definitely look them over and attend her in-class review session to make your life easier.
The class is interesting. The tests are multiple choice and the answers are sometimes too similar. look over the study guides on the internet. Its a fun class. Can't say it's an easy A because I read the book and still got a B.
She is a great teacher. You must attend class if you want to pass since her lectures are based on slides rather than from the book. She is really funny. Her class is really easy since the tests are multiple-choice and they are based on the lectures. Overall, great (easy) class and great teacher.
Good Prof. and is very witty with comments that are adult oriented. Recommend her class just don't get on her bad side. This class is primarily first year students with teenage attitudes and she gets really annoyed and irritated at times. Be careful
Not a good instructor at all. She deviates from the topic and her exams are quite difficult especially if you're taking her class as an elective and not very interested on the topic. I would NEVER recommend her to anyone.
I never bought a book for this class, but I went to class every single day.
All around awesome teacher. Her class is my favorite this semester. She's funny.
Overall a great teacher! Very funny and helpful. Take notes and attend class and you'll get an A.
Mrs. Perry is very easy-going, and certainly has a passion for art work. She has a good sense of humor and likes to keep the audience entertained with jokes and remarks. The class is easy, I highly recommend doing the review sheets she gives in her syllabus. If you know all terminology, you are sure to get an A in the class.
Mrs. Perry is a good professor, but I don't recommend the class. It's full of freshmen who constantly talk during lecture and it's very distracting. I hate art but she made it mildly interesting for me. No quizzes/assignments, just four huge exams. I recommend taking a different class for your fine arts credit.
I have taken 3 classes with Perry and I which I could take more but I can't I already took them and can't do seconds. Perry is great, she is playful but respectful at the same time. I love the subject for her classes which she makes very intresting and fun. Overall an A+ professor.
Only 3 test to make up your whole grade, she has a written optional assignment thats 5 pages long and 25 percent of your grade to do it. Her lectures are pretty boring sometimes and her reviews are super long and not very helpful. take jazz to rock instead.
One word: ethnocentric. By the end of the course she had run out of adjectives for the"savage"Indians. But those sweeping generalizations and sloppy intellectual content marked her class.Surprised no one has complained.
Very interesting class, deals with mainly but not limited to masks of various regions of Africa. Prof. is super cool, quite a character, hilariously funny at times, but no-nonsense. Just show up, be on time, seat down and be quiet, leave the jokes to her you will be entertained. Beautiful eyes and silver hair. TAKE GOOD NOTES or record lectures.
First and foremost, don't bother buying the book. Quizzes are lecture based so if as long as you take good notes you'll do fine. She is funny and knowledgeable. There's attendance every day, three quizzes, and one optional paper that make up your entire grade. So if you make a mistake on a quiz, it's recommended to do the paper.
I don't recommend this professor. If you come five minutes late, she does not let you see exam slides anymore. Hard exams. I never liked her class.
The way she talks about art and the different techniques and genres makes you see things in a different perspective. She pays attention to the little details and makes sure that you know them for her exams. Very easy class and interesting. I enjoyed her lectures and thought the exams and quizzes were easy. Lowest grade I got was a 90.
Great speaker, very funny and has great sense of humour. Keeps the class interesting. She is also smart and well articulated
Loved her, she speaks clear and well articulated, so you will understand everything (english is not my first language so I had problems understandig other professors.) She is passionate about her subject, funny but strict when it comes to her class policies. Easy class if you take notes (take good ones) and not much use of the book.
Her classes are fairly easy. You just have to pay attention to her lectures, which can be very entertaining. She makes learning about the subjects fun. Her tests are not hard if you study the material & lecture notes, and term papers aren't that difficult to write. Great teacher. I enjoyed her classes very much.
This class is pretty simple. As long as you take good notes on her lectures the tests and quizzes are really easy. Make sure to write your paper since it's a majority of your grade. I loved her she made the class fun to be in.
Easy class. She makes the lectures very funny and super interesting. Pay attention to the material she gives in class and take good notes. She tells you exactly what she will ask on the tests and exams. Overall you'll have 5 quizzes, 3 exams and a group paper. I did not read use my book at all. Her power-points provide all the info you need.
She makes you enjoy what you're learning and has plenty of jokes. One of the best professors! All exams and quizzes are easy and all come from her power points! DONT BUY THE BOOK. Just take good notes! I usually reviewed 30 min before class and got A's. Usually did a sign in sheet (attendance was mandatory)but sometimes shed forget to hand it out.
Professor Perry is amazing! You'll fall in love with her! You really shouldn't skip class, you need the info. Write 90% of her lecture down, seriously it helps. Thankfully, dates don't matter in this class. Study time will be needed, but this course is amazing to experience.
There's 3 tests for this course and participation is 10% of the grade. The tests are pretty easy, two out of the three have an essay component, but you'll know the topics in advance. Lectures are very nice and the professor is funny.
Love Love Love this professor!!! Come to class and study the online homework and you will pass this class. I bought the text book for the class. However, if you record the lectures and come to class. You won't even need to buy the book. Her passion for the class makes the class enjoyable.
Don't take this class unless you're an art major. Save your GPA, her exams are extremely tough.
She is very sweet and funny, her lectures are informative and is clear with what will be on exams. Exams are multiple choice and shouldn't be very difficult if you study.
It was a funny class!
Anne is an amazing instructor to definitely makes things interesting and entertaining. She made the class enjoyable and said many hilarious things. I definitely suggest that you take her if you can, you wouldn't regret it!
I would definitely take her class again! Makes lectures interesting by sharing her own experiences. Gave like four quizzes and three exams. The final exam is not comprehensive. Group assignment on the museum, but everyone writes their own paper. Blackboard content is more helpful than the book.
Perry is a sweetheart. She gives you three easy tests and three easy quizzes with a term paper. Lectures are entertaining but fair warning you could fall asleep due to comfortable atmosphere. Memorize works and subtle descriptions and centuries. Book isn't necessary. Would definitely take again if I had the money.
Mrs. Perry is great. Lectures can be boring sometimes, but as long as you take notes you'll be fine. Provides a review of everything covered on the tests and quizzes on the back of the syllabus. Study this content from the powerpoints she uploads online and you'll receive the easiest A ever. Studying is important.
Professor Perry is very engaged with the material and it makes it interesting. Her class is extremely calm and thorough. Just be warned that she does give 3 quizzes and 3 exams throughout the course of the year, and they are a bit difficult. Otherwise, she is a very understanding professor and loves getting to know her students.
Her lectures were interested but she does make the quizzes and exams tricky. Read the PowerPoint and study picture and you'll pass
She lectures through all her classes in a very boring way. You need to study well to pass! Study Study!
Very laid back and approachable; took her summer course and was very stimulated. Don't bother with the book, just make sure you go to class because everything you'll need is from the lectures. Copious notes, folks. Would absolutely take her course again
You have to go to class in order to pass. All of your grades are tests. The lectures are all sooo long and boring, but necessary. If you show up and pay the least bit of attention, you'll at least pass. She's nice.
Hard class and you will earn the A.
Longggg and boring lectures, dont bother with the text book she doesnt use it. Quizzes are easy, tests are hard. Attendance is key to passing
Hands down my favorite teacher I've ever taken at UTEP! She's so funny and makes the lecture so entertaining. Three tests and four quizzes, each easy if you attend class regularly and take notes. Would definitely recommend her to anyone who loves art history or struggles with any history class as well!
The Class was hard but worth it. You use the book few times and study ahead of time because her exams are hard and you need to know what you are doing in order to just pass the exams. she gives out three exams through out the semester so study for them and pass. the majority however never even pass her class. Its a hard class that needs to put work
Wonderful and hilarious, 4 quizzes, 3 exams including the final, and one paper. All of the tests are based off her lectures so I didn't need the book, although I do imagine it helps, but show up and pay attention. Her content is interesting though. The paper is graded a little more harshly but I still got an A.
Tests for this class are the most difficult I have taken and I have taken Calculus IIII and upper division engineering courses. This class seems like it is meant to lower your GPA or make you leave UTEP and return to EPCC.
She is a very good professor. She does not uses the textbook. Overall, if you want to pass her class with an A must take really good notes. She anticipates you when her exams and quizzes will be taking place. She is really funny and cool.
I took Dr. Perry for my art hist class and I think she is the best professor in this field. Gives great feedback, makes the class interesting, fun, gives opportunities for extra credit. But, if you are not interested in art, don't take the class. This class is meant for Art Historians and responsible people. Of course, you will read and study a lot
Don't skip class, it'll only get you behind. Most of the grades come from tests and quizzes to make sure to study. Professor Perry makes the most out of the lectures by showing great enthusiasm.
Her class is extremely difficult to pass given that it's completely based on the memorization of images (often more than 30 art images per test). In addition professor perry displays only rudimentary knowledge of many important artists/paintings, which is surprising given that this is supposedly her area of expertise.
You can have up to three absences but there's no need to skip class because she is hilarious! She makes her lectures really funny and interesting. Her quizzes and exams are super easy if you take good notes and listen in class. She also has you tour the Rubin center at some point in the semester. She does want you to read the textbook but I don't.
Professor Perry does lecture heavy but listen closely and take good notes. If you could avoid being absent i recommend doing so. DO study hard (at least 1 week bfr exam or quiz) they require memorization of images and also some context on them! which she mentions throughout lectures. Notes are KEY! Sounds hard, but anything is possible, si se puede
I absolutely loved her class! As long as you attend lectures you're good. I found I didn't need to read the book because her lectures were always clear and she never left out anything we needed to know. She's so caring and even with the corona virus and school being online, she still manages to give us the same value for what we learn.
I loved her online class. This class is super easy online. Not much homework and always responded to emails in a timely manner. I had messed up on the only paper for the summer semester and she allowed me to redo it this time doing it correctly. I wish I had the chance to meet her in person as she seems like an amazing professor and person.
This class isn't that bad. She's fun. She says that you need the textbook, but you really don't because she covers the chapters in class. Besides, who the hell reads 40 pages a night for just one class? lol. Take good notes. FLASHCARDS SAVE YOUR LIFE. Find a study group and you'll be good. Trust me, I took this class because I needed the credit.
She was a great professor! I learned so much in her class and all you have to do is attend her tutors study sessions and take notes and should be an easy A.
I took her online. The only "homework" you have are just quizzes and two exams, so you need to study if you want to maintain a high grade. She has tutoring that gives you extra credit by the end of the semester. If you go to tutoring you will 110% ace your quizzes. She's very kind as well and is clear on what the work consists of.
She is very caring and understanding to different circumstances. There were only three exams, and about four quizzes, so each grade on them really matters. The lectures were very clear and informative.
Professor Perry is very nice and understanding. Her class is 3 exams, 4 quizzes, and one written assignment. Each assignment really matters for your final grade. You dont need the text book as long as you study from her powerpoints. If you dont study you wont pass! Her office hours are very helpful, she would tell me what was on exams.
If you want to go over multiple 60-80 PowerPoint slides, read chapters of your textbook, and watch Khan Academy Videos(the videos were the peak of this class) every week on your own, then this is the class for you. There were about 7 graded items. 1 assignment, 1 paper, 3 quizzes, and 2 exams. All closed book. No extra credit.
Asynchronous class, no videos posted or anything. She does post very in depth power points for each section. She does say to read the textbook every week but if you take good notes of her powerpoints you really dont need to (I never read it and got an A). Does respond to emails so is helpful but it is a self-taught course. Very few assignments.
Because it was a online class Anne Perry did not give class. However, she gave offices hours and gave powerpoint with all the information you will need. Her " pass peer" was the one who gave like mini classes for the exams and lectures. Also, the extra points were if you attended a meeting with your peer leader. only took quizzes and exams (easy)
Professor Perry was one of the best professors in UTEP. Honestly before, I could care less for art since it wasn't my major, but she gave me a different perspective upon art. I learned so many things and was able to receive extra credit for attending peer sessions, shoutout to Marcus M! You definitely need to attend class in order to pass!
I loved her lectures! Her class kept my sanity- she does have one large paper project but she truly is a great Professor! Her tests and quizzes are tough but if you make it a point to attend the PASS sessions you will do fine. I absolutely loved her class
she's really funny and makes the 60 PowerPoint lectures genuinely interesting. the tests are basically a memory game and she will try to trick you sometimes but they're fairly easy if you look at the list of required works. you will not need the textbook, at all, its pretty much just there for decoration, everything you need is in the PowerPoints
I would highly recommend taking your class with Prof. Perry, she is really awesome at delivering lectures. She really cares about the art she discusses, and for her students. I made a study guide before quizzes, they are very easy to pass. She also tells you what exactly what to study for as well so there are no surprises. This class is an easy A!
Prof. Perry is very easy going, her lectures are very interesting. She is also very funny. Her test are easy and her grading is clear. Her test are timed and taken online during your own time on the day the test is open. There isn't much reading, there is an online book but you really don't need it as the lectures are a summary of the chapters.
paper was not graded harshly, all information needed for quizzes and exams were in the lecture slides that are posted; no need for the book
Amazing lectures, makes the content relatable and easy to digest. There are only a couple grades for the class, 5 quizzes and 3 exams makes up the entirety of the grade average.
Anne Perry is a great art appreciation professor to take. Attendance is required but assigns no homework. Gives a number of quizzes throughout the semester which may be challenging, but as long as you show up to lectures you will understand everything. Exams are the same. They are all taken at home too. Additionally, she is kind and funny.
I absolutely loved her! It was such a joy to take her class! If I could take her for art history 1 I absolutely would break my finger hitting the registration button so fast. She makes the lectures exciting and interesting to pay attention to. She's funny and she's so kind and sweet!
She was an amazing professor. Her lectures were both interesting and hilarious. And really easy to keep up with and understand. She does have a textbook but you can definitely survive without purchasing it. I would 10/10 take her again if I had the chance. Easy grade here.
Anne Perry is such an understanding & hilarious professor. She is accessible out of class & always offers to help her students. She also makes her lectures very interesting. You don't have to buy the textbook required. Class was graded by 3 timed essay question tests & a seven page paper. There is no homework but be sure to make time to study.
Attendance is taken at most lectures by signing in and can affect your grade if you have too many absences. Lectures are often slides that can be read along from your device, with the professor giving a more detailed explanation. The professor is great at replying fast outside of the classroom and stays after class for any questions or concerns.
Professor Anne was so funny and laid back with her lectures, the exams and quizzes heavily relied on the book.
Throughout the semester she only did lectures and ask questions every now and then but nothing too complicated. She does sometimes pass around sign in sheets as attendance but most of the time it's not mandatory attendance. She only gave us quizzes and exams throughout the semester. No need to buy the book!!!
This professor was the nicest I've ever had but as a person that doesn't enjoy learning about arts history I had to study a ton for me to remember. Her lectures are ok, she has a good personality and isn't strict. No homework just studying, a few quizzes, and one 3-page paper. I wouldn't take again but this class was super easy after studying.
She is lots of fun, lots of jokes. the content is pretty interesting and she is very laid back. she offers 1 test grade to be removed, so either you can remove your lowest grade from your total grade or just skip one if you feel like it
Ms. Perry is an incredible teacher! Her charismatic and easygoing personality made the class a thousand times more fun. There are two exams and three quizzes throughout the semester. Attendance is mandatory. I found her quizzes and tests to be a little bit challenging but if you pay attention during class there's nothing to worry about.
Professor Perry's class was very fun. You can tell that she likes what she teaches and she is funny during lectures. The class does require a textbook but you can complete the class with the presentations only. There's no homework, and her quizzes/exams are not proctored and they are in blackboard. You also have two attempts for each quizz.
Prof. Perry is super sweet and super understanding. You never have homework, grading is all quiz-based. All quizzes and tests are on Blackboard and not locked down. There's one essay you have to complete that has to be 5 pages long, but it's easy and was pretty easily graded. Overall, i would HIGHLY recommend her class.
