Her pilates and yoga classes are not really for beginners, but she gives you a super-duper workout. You will definitely use every muscle in your body and come out drenched in sweat after abt 30 minutes of class. Take her if you want to get in shape!
I had Anne for Pilates and Yoga back to back. She was amazing, if you are looking to tone your body take her. She works you out and makes you have great definition. P.S my butt looks amazing because of her workouts.
I don't know why people are saying her classes aren't for beginners. I'm not an athlete and never had pilates before and though her class was just right. Of course, it's not supposed to be a walk in the park. What you get with Anne is a great workout and she makes it pretty fun too. I wish I could take more of her classes.
This professor was extremely helpful! Classes were as challenging as you wanted to make them. She explains exercises with clarity! I learned a great deal about movement patterns & how muscles fire together for core engagement. She has a wonderful sense of humor; is very down to earth and friendly. She is very approachable & easy to talk to.
She helped me after class several times. I have a physical disability & it's not easy for me to take fitness classes but she took time after class to help me. It made a difference! I am appreciative that she went beyond the class to help me. She makes the class fun & challenging!
Anne is an amazing instructor. i took this class because i had free time and thought why not for if its 2 credits. it was so worth it. i have acquired such amazing yoga skills and she doesn't push you at all. if your not comfortable doing something she won't make you. she's so into what she does i love it, take her yoga, fitness, or pilates class!!
Professor is very helpful. She goes out of her way to help you, always emphasizes form of the posture and breathing. I never thought I'd learn so much from a yoga class. It's not just the postures & breathing awareness that she teaches, but your health & mental well being. It's made me aware of so many things in life.
This class literally changed my mindset about fitness. I lost weight, toned up & never felt better physically & mentally. This professor knows how to cater to each student & teach each at their level & the growth that comes with it is amazing. I now continue to take classes with her at a local gym. She has inspired me to get certified in Pilates.
Pilates was a great class! I learned so much about the art itself as well as her giving great tips about vegetarian and vegan foods. Can't wait to take her yoga class next semester! I definitely recommend taking her classes for a good workout.

The professor is friendly, inspirational and a wonderful teacher overall. I learned so much more in yoga than I thought I could. I'm not very flexible but yoga is helping so much. It's also increasing my strength and balance as well. The teacher, Anne, is so much fun while not letting you slack off. I definitely recommend this class and take again
Professor helped me with my vertigo. It's always been difficult for me to take vinyasa style classes, where students move from one yoga pose to another. This class was really great because she explains the postures with anatomical wording. Also it's more static stretching and slower flow patterns. I really loved the class!
Class was fun. She is a really good teacher. Very helpful & cares about students. She goes out of her way to help you. I would take her class again for no credit. She makes you work in class, but I saw changes in my body, toned & got really strong. Encouraged me to lead a healthier lifestyle & be more mindful of overall health.
This was the BEST yoga class! The instructor really knows anatomy. Her wording is precise & guides you into postures I never thought I'd ever be able to do! She also has an amazing sence of humor! It really gets you through the more difficult yoga postures. I'd take it again for no credit, it's that good!
After taking this class, I want to become a yoga teacher! Ms. Scarlato an inspirational yogi, who is always there for you. She has some amazing "tricks"/ways to get you into more advanced postures, I never even dreamed of conquering in my own practice or other classes I've ever taken. She makes you work for your credits, but guides u to love it all
She is a fun teacher, but difficult class for me. I have scoliosis and can't do a lot of postures but she helped adjust them for me without anyone knowing my issue. Very helpful teacher. Helped me after class a lot. I now know how to adjust myself & can take other classes & be mindful of my body without hurting my back.
Yoga was a tough class for me, but I really liked it & the practice got flexible & strong too. Teacher was helpful getting me into poses I never thought I could do. I did a headstand & handstand, never thought I could do that! Attendance is important, so make sure you get to class.
Great yoga teacher. Had flexibility issues from weight lifting but her class teaches you how to become more flexible. She really cares about you getting into your own yoga practice and she makes you want to do that because she loves it so much. Guys should definitely take this class if you want to get serious about your overall fitness.
Pilates! You feel it for days after workout. If you want great abs & glutes, take this class!
I would take this yoga class again for no credit. She teaches yoga as a moving meditation with intention on the breath. It was very physical at times but the deep relaxation was awesome afterwards. Got a great workout and meditation. Felt great after taking class. I also got into a home yoga practice too. Helps stop my anxiety.
The most amazing class I have ever taken. It's so stress releaving. I wish we met every day of the week. She wants you to learn and puts in a lot of effort to teach. Her knowledge of traditional yoga is exceptional. Also gives good cooking tips to eat healthy sometimes (which is great)!
I was hesitant taking a yoga class due to recent back surgery. She adjusted poses for my body & helped my back pain & discomfort stop. No more pain meds! I now do Sun Salutation every morning & go to her yoga class once a week in a local gym. Class was hard work with deep relaxation. You'll develop skills for a yoga practice on & off the mat.
She is great, class can get pretty intense at times but she coaches you through it, and makes it more comfortable. she really cares I would take her again.
This class is an awesome workout. Lots of variation, jumping & killer ab work. Sometimes ends class with a yoga flow /stretch or ab workout or moving meditation. I've also taken same instructor for Fitness & Conditioning. Both classes you'll learn a lot about working out & how to structure your own workout.
Pilates, class is easy when you r doing it, but you can feel the exercises effects for days after. Gets yo toned fast. Good ab work. Teacher is funny, upbeat, chill & friendly.
Yoga is both challenging and relaxing. Teacher gives clear instructions & tips for asanas. She is easy to understand & is organized. She will stay & help you after class. I would take her class again.

I deal with anxiety and depression issues. Ms. Scarlato helped me with the skills she taught me in how to create a yoga, meditation, visualization, journal and pranayama practice. She worked with me 3 times a week after classes. It literally changed my life. Her class is fun & upbeat. But she makes time for students who struggle.
Ms. Scarlato is a dedicated, very funny yet very serious, inspirational, spiritual, intuitive and will go out of her way to help you. Her class is about understanding yoga postures from their physical base & building your own integrated physical & spiriual practice. If you want to learn & journey into your true essence, take this class.
I've been taking her yoga class for 2 years, NOT for credit. She allows students to drop in & participate anytime. This class has taught me to focus (I have ADHD) & to work on myself & it's also helped me in relating to others. Instructor really teaches you how to start where you are, accept it & witness your own growth.
Ms Scarlato is a very caring professor. She will stay long after class to help you if you are interested (as I am in yoga.) It's evident she loves what she does. She is wise, patient, kind, calming & understanding. I deal with bouts of depression & she helped me learn how to deal with it, I've never known how to do that before.
Changed my mind set about yoga. Class was always different, sometimes wild, energetic, slow flow or static stretching to holding postures. Always mindful of movement & alignment, Profess Scarlato gives great clues on how to do it all. The class felt like family because the instructor made all of us feel really connected while we worked individually
After taking this yoga class, I've created a daily practice & have been inspired to become a yoga instructor. Ms. Scarlato is dedicated to her practice,teaching & students, a true inspiration for those who participate in her classes. She is very funny & real about life. Class was challenging yet a lot of fun. I highly recommend it!
I was not excited about taking yoga, my expectations were that it would be boring & easy to just relax, but it was just the opposite. It was a lot of fun, yet challenging & difficult. The instructor is pleasant, cracks jokes & she makes you work hard. I really loved the class & I continue to take classes & practice at home too.

I've taken yoga classes at studios & gyms. This class is different. Each class you work on something different, it's never boring & always challenging. Instructor stays after class if anyone wants to go deeper into a posture or learn more about yoga. I highly recommend this class & this professor!
Take this class. It fills up fast, so not the easiest to register to get in it. There is a good reason, instructor is really into yoga & it shows. She jokes a lot, but don't let that fool you into thinking it's just all fun. It's really hard work, her joking makes it all palatable. You will WANT to make it into a practice for yourself.
Pilates class. This class had my abs, glutes & mid, upper back rock solid. She teaches traditional ab work Pilates style & slowly adds in traditional Pilates exercises, until you can adjust to keeping your head lifted using your core in Pilates posture as you workout. You will feel this class for days! Take this class & get in shape!
Instructor breaks down yoga postures in detail, so you really learn the postures & the intricacies to link each posture in a continuous flow. It all becomes a self challenging, fun & makes you want to learn & practice it more.
Instructor is detail oriented, teaching several styles of yoga & explains the benefits of postures as well discussions about bringing your yoga practice into all aspects of your life. Also teaches how & where to practice listening to your own body & using your own intuition.
Difficult class to get into, registration fills up fast. Now I know why, it's a great class & the instructor is amazing. So, I'm taking it for no credit & will take it fo credit next semester. Class is taught like a workshop yoga class, it's always different & so much better than any of the yoga classes & workshops offered on campus.
Professor Scarlato helped me in so many ways & went beyond what any other professor or councilor at school, has done to help me over come anxiety. Though helping me with breathing exercises and meditations after class literally saved me & helped me to deal with difficult life situations. This Yoga Class has been a blessing!
Teacher helped me more than advisors or councilors at the college. She is very helpful and understanding with her students. Teaches how to meditate & how to start and cultivate an intuitive personal yoga practice.
Take this class!! She is such a great instructor. Classes never last the whole 55 minutes but it is a great workout. It is a pass or fail class but she makes it so enjoyable to go! I would definitely take her again!
She knows how to make a class fun. You sometimes don't realize how hard you are working in the class because she jokes a lot. But then a day or two later you realize just how much you worked out because you can feel it!
One of the most thorough and laid back yoga instructors I've come across. She is very precise and sure that all her students are doing poses correctly and really cares about spreading mindfulness. Thanks to her I even have created a practice for myself. I wish she was the instructor for yoga II, unfortunately I won't be taking it.
Yoga class is the BEST on campus & the most thorough in terms of instruction! She really knows how to help you make your weakness into your strength! Love this class!!!! I took it last semester for credit & I now attend her class every week, for no credit.

Class made me focus on breathing and movement or to breathe into held poses and focus, meditation on the posture from the foundation. Gives lots of instructions how to practice & practice on your own. Explains that although there is a philosophical aspect to the practice it is 99.9% experiential.
Really funny, loves her students and loves what she does. Definitely take her class if you want a few extra credits that don't require a lot of work besides stretching and meditating.

Its an exercise class so there arent any tests or anything. She goes pretty hard for what I thought was going to be an easier yoga class but it was still good. She teaches it like we want to learn how to teach yoga, when I just wanted to learn the moves.
Anne is an amazing teacher. I had her for two conditioning classes and she really pushed me and helped me grow in fitness. Now my fitness routine is consistent and im never sore because of the different stretches Anne taught me. She made yoga extremely interesting and challenging and actually taught us about the different poses.
I currently take Stress Management. This class is life changing for me. I have developed a meditation practice that has helped me overcome anxiety. I am so aware of my anxiety triggers & can confront them & see anxiety for what it is & have control over it. This class has been a blessing for me & Im just starting to reep the benefits.
I will miss not coming to this yoga class as we have one more left in the semester. My instructor was probably the most caring professor Ive ever had. She also is very serious about yoga & teaching students how to make it part of your life, not just a workout, but a work in progress that evolves into bringing forth your best you. Loved it!
Anne is one of the best & my favorite professor at Ramapo. She is very caring & upbeat. She wants her students to be their best. Her yoga class was inspiring. It helped me understand that its not just about the physical postures but about achieving and showing up in the world as your best self.

Explained the importanane of stress Management really well! She greatly influenced me to bring practices from this class into my daily life. This class was really communicational. You learn techniques that stay with you for the rest of your life.

I loved the professor! Mrs. Scarlato gives amazing instructions on how to use your core and even how to take Pilates techniques into the gym. This is a very intense workout at times & the class work payed off, I have rocking abs now. My whole body changed. She gives you tools to do this on your own & incorporate it into your life.

Stress Management was one of the most helpful classes which gave me the tools I needed to help me deal with my anxiety and depression. Professor guided us in how to develop a mindfulness meditation practice and also keep a journal for ourselves. Lots of interesting self inquiry and deep conversations, she gets everyone to participate.
Best Yoga class on campus! I learned a lot in this class. She covers anatomy, kinesiology along with the history, philosophy & actually teaches you how to have a yoga practice of your own. I look forward to the class every week. Ms Scarlato has a fun way of presenting the postures & makes it easy to remember. A really fun & informative class.
I want to get certified to teach Yoga after taking this class.! Instructor is very knowledgeable about anatomy & kinesiology. Also teaches that this practice is rooted in purely in mindfulness. Teaches you to understand your own body & breathe & work with where you are now, physically & honoring that, your body will accept & grow in the practice.
Pilates Instructor is caring & takes individual issues seriously. Teaches Pilates with progressive movements & how to slow down & feel mind body connections. It helped me understand how important it is to use the breath, just like in meditation, so this evolves into a movement meditation.
You will be surprised how much you actually learn not just about yoga, but about yourself. This class helped me so much, Im so glad I took this class! Instructor gives great tools to use in your life. I looked forward to this class every Monday & I will really miss it.
Annes class is my piece of mind right in between my other two classes. Ive taken Pilates and Yoga with her. She is very knowledgeable. Her class is enjoyable. I learned a lot, not only about fitness but about my body, correct ways of exercising and testing my limits. Anne is very accessible outside of class. I highly recommend taking her.
Instructor made us work out the entire class. This Pilates class changed my body & helped my lower back pain. Proper movements are taught & anatomy. Instructor is caring with every student & helps each one understand how to move & feel better. I learned so much in this class.
Pilates Instructor is really fun. She makes a difficult workout actually enjoyable. It was an early morning 8:30am class. I looked forward to it every week. I learned a lot about my body. Anne helped every single student & made sure everyone understands the exercises. It helped me gain amazing abs & overall strength. I will miss this class!
This Pilates class not only gave me the skills to do Pilates but also helped me use the tools I learned to really feel my body doing other types of workouts. Instructor is very detail oriented in getting you to breathe & move correctly. Great visual cues of how & what to feel as you do the workout. You will learn a lot about you body.
As long as you show up, you're gonna pass her class. Doesn't matter if you're late. She is very enthusiastic and very understanding with absences. Would definitely take her again.

Yoga Class is the best on campus. I have taken Yoga for a few years but this class taught me more than Ive ever gotten from a class or workshop at a studio. Professor teaches amazing alignment principals & really cares about her students. It also helped me with my anxiety & coping with a full schedule. Class goes by fast its fun.
Anne is the best fitness professor at Ramapo. Class was a lot of fun & challenging. I learned yoga postures with proper alignment, meditation & breathing techniques. Will definitely take other classes with her.
Stress management was anything but. Show up to class and participate in meditation, yoga and lectures where Scarlato discusses personal anecdotes. Super easy and fun class, actually helped me to manage some of my stress during my final semester. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to take an easy 2-credit class.
She made getting up early for Pilates fun! Very laidback, easygoing professor who is lenient with absences and tardiness. Often tells stories during exercises to entertain and energize students. Would take again!

I had her for yoga 1. I did not have a huge problem with her but she was really tough. There was this one time she put on pop music and made us do yoga very fast. It was literally like aerobics. Every class is not the same so it's hard to tell if it's going to make you sweat or not. The good is that her stretches really help with my back and leg
I wasn't sure how to feel about taking a Pilates class at first, but after taking it with this professor I felt accomplished. This class made me feel confident and motivated with myself. This class is more focused on stretching and mat workouts, instead of high-intensity exercise.
SO AMAZING. I loved Anne. She was so sweet and even invited people to the classes she taught outside of school. Classes were short (30 minutes usually) and no assignments. You can miss 3-4 classes and then have to record yourself doing a video if you miss more. She was hilarious and so knowledgeable.
Your entire grade is literally just showing up. She's cool but sometimes a bit intense with you guys understanding yoga/stress management. But overall really easy A you just have to show up.
